After consistent criticism against social media apps on the harmful impact they have on underage users, TikTok has announced measures to tackle the problem. On Wednesday, Tik Tok revealed that users under the age of 18 will now have their usage restricted to a one hour time limit. Once the 60 minutes limit has been reached, users will have to type in a passcode to continue, a move which will allow them to make an active decision to continue using the app. Cormac Keena, the head of trust and safety at Tik Tok, wrote a blog post where he revealed that the company had consulted experts and researchers from the Digital Wellness Lab at Boston’s Childrens Hospital about how to help teenagers limit their online activity. “While there’s no collectively-endorsed position on how much screen time is ‘too much’, or even the impact of screen time more broadly, we recognize that teens typically require extra support as they start to explore the online world independently,” Keenan wrote. Keenan also revealed that a new update will be added to Tik Tok’s Family Pairing feature, which will allow a parent or guardian to link their account to their child’s and set controls like filtering words or hashtags they don’t want their minor to come across, or even set a custom daily screen time limit.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Vice-President Maryam Nawaz and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan continued their Twitter spat over the depreciation of the rupee against the dollar on Thursday.

He added that Pakistanis are “paying [a] heavy price of regime change conspiracy where a bunch of criminals have been foisted upon nation by ex COAS”.
Responding to Khan’s statement, Maryam snapped back at him dismissing his party for its three-year-long “incompetence”.

Maryam then told Khan “So sit down!” in her tweet.

King Charles III’s coronation is finally taking place on May 6, however, the royal family has had to face disappointment as their preferred British singers were either unavailable or declined the invitation to perform.

Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor was a guest on the BBC Asian Network where while promoting his upcoming movie ‘Tu Jhooti Mein Makaar’, the actor opened up about the birth of his daughter, Raha. Kapoor and actor Alia Bhatt got married last year and announced that they were pregnant in June. They told their fans the name they had chosen for their baby in an Instagram post.
Speaking on how fatherhood had changed him, Kapoor revealed that he was feeling overwhelmed with the amount of love he felt for his baby: “There’s nothing that matters anymore but yet everything matters also. It’s a new emotion and it’s something that even I’m scared to talk about because it fills you up so much that you get scared thinking ‘will this go away?’”
Kapoor also confessed that the love he felt towards his daughter was not something he had experienced before. “In the back of my mind I know there’s one thing that’s gonna live eternally with me till the day I die which is the love, and joy and the gratefulness that I feel. An additional sessions court in Sukkur sent a notice to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Vice-President Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday, summoning her on March 10 over allegations of insulting “state institutions”, reports Geo News.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) District President Zaheer Muhammad filed a petition in the court, seeking registration of a case against the PML-N leader under section 22-A and 22-B.
The petition filed against Maryam stated that she spoke against institutions in her speech. It added that she tried inciting people towards revolt against the institutions.
“That proposed accused Maryam Nawaz Sharif addressed the people of [Sargodha] and cued the alleged pictures included ex-Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hamid, former chief justice Asif Saeed Khosa, Justice (retd) Saqib Nisar, and presently two sitting Supreme Court judges who are part of a top court bench hearing a suo motu case to determine who has the constitutional responsibility and authority to announce the date for elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” the plea read.
In his application to the court, the petitioner stated that the PML-N stalwart “addressed hate speech with the intention to provoke the general public to spread hate and chaos against the highest state institutions”.
It mentioned that the petitioner approached the FIA director to lodge a first information report (FIR) against Maryam, but he first “kept the applicant in hallow hopes and then clearly refused”.
Former captain Shoaib Malik might be making his way to the big screen soon.
Talking about his future plans while hosting a talk show with his wife, Indian tennis star Sania Mirza, Malik expressed an interest in pursuing a career in acting. The all-rounder has already made his acting debut with the Pakistani film “Saya-e-Khuda-e-Zuljalal” in 2016, in which he played the role of a Pakistani soldier. Malik has also appeared in TV commercials in Pakistan. However, it is not clear if he intends to pursue acting as a full-time career or if he will continue to focus on cricket.
Malik made his acting debut with a guest appearance in Mahira Khan’s drama series “Baarwan Khiladi”.
“I can’t say yes or no right now. If any good project is offered, I will think about it. Maybe I do some good acting,” he hinted when asked about pursuing a career in showbiz.
While talkin about the controversy surrounding former seamer Shoaib Akhtar’s statement about national team skipper Babar Azam, Malik supported the former speedster.
“I have known Shoaib Bhai for a very long time. He gives blunt statements but never tries to hurt anyone,” Malik said.
He said that he believes that the “statement was taken wrongly” while it might have been said for “betterment”.
However, he added that in his view, English language shouldn’t be the criteria to judge someone.
Malik has also worked in the 2019 movie “Silsilay”, in which he played the lead role. Malik has also made special appearances in other Pakistani movies, including “Punjab Nahi Jaungi” and “Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2”.
Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has directed his government to ensure that there is no loadshedding during Sehri and Iftar times in the holy month of Ramzan— set to start at the end of March.

Bangwar also ta about how shocked other people in his life were when they found out about his decision to stay in Pakistan. “People would say to me ‘Why have you come back? It’s such a prevalent formula that it’s no wonder that audiences crave a change with complex stories that can draw them in. However, once in a blue moon we have gotten interesting stories that deviated from the stereotypical shaadi drama to give us a heart-wrenching love story and left their audience completely devastated. Despite the ever-standing belief among drama creators that audiences need to keep being fed the same ‘Humsafar’ formulae, these dramas elevated themselves among the rest because they remind us that despite all our efforts, we never get the happy ending we crave and that is what life is all about. 1 Daastan
Bano and Hassan’s love story was the epitome of what made Dastaan the timeless drama it remains today. Both fell in love when they met at Suraiya’s wedding. Both are engaged and Hassan immediately leaves for Rawalpindi to begin his job, promising that he would bring Bano along. However, this love story is torn apart by the violence of partition, after which Bano is forcibly married and Hassan believes her to be dead. When they meet up after years, Bano has a child, and because of the trauma of the violence she underwent and then at the hands of her abuser at her workplace, she gets admitted in a mental assylum.
2 Ye Dil Mera
Sajal Aly and Ahad Raza Mir broke hearts across the country when they chose to part ways, but real fans know that the couple had already been breaking hearts with this tragic drama about family trauma and long lost secrets. Aly plays Noor-ul-Ain, a student who starts interning at AK Oil Industry, whose CEO is Aman-Ullah Khan (Mir). Both get closer and are married in a few days, but are driven apart after Khan realizes that it was Noor’s father who had murdered his family. By the end of the drama, the couple decide to part ways in order to heal from their own wounds, and leave us unsure on whether they would come back together or not.
3 Pehli Si Muhabbat
Rakshi (played by Maya Ali) and Aslam (played by Shehryar Munawar) are childhood friends who start getting closer, but tragedy strikes when Rakshi’s father get’s married for the second time to Nargis, who was a former sex worker. Aslam’s elder brother, Akram, is the one who opposes this relation the most and orders the entire community to ostracize Rakshi and her family. Despite their efforts to convince their families to let them get married, Rakshi and Aslam are married off to other people. When they meet up years later at the marriage of their children, both reminisce their times together and say they were happy being each other’s first love.
4 Ishq-e-Laa
Shanaya (played by Sajal Aly) is a dedicated journalist who seeks to empower oppressed voices through her work, but her husband Azlan (played by Azaan Sami Khan) is unable to understand her passion for social issues and asks her to quit her job after marriage. However, when Shayana is killed while investigating a murder committed by the son of a rich man, Azlan is heartbroken and decides to fulfil her wish to fund Azka’s medical education. By the end of the series, when Azka and Azlaan are married, he goes to Shayana’s grave to tell her how much he loved her for influencing him to change his mindset.
5 Mata-e-Jaan Hai Tu
Haniya (played by Sarwar Gilani) and Ibad Uzar (played by Adnan Sami) are college students in America who fall in love and want to get married Ibad’s parents oppose the marriage. When Haniya’s grandmother passes away and she is distraught, Ibad decides to marry her. To convince his parents, Ibad flies back to Pakistan ten days after his wedding, but is killed on the day he is flying back. Haniya is distraught but decides to go back to Pakistan herself to start working for Ibad’s parents office. By the end of the drama, his parents and Haniya are incredibly close and are able to grieve together over the loss of their loved one.
