After the government announced earlier that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would be allowed to leave the country on ‘conditional permission’, Nawaz has refused to leave Pakistan.
Sources claim that a one-and-a-half hour meeting took place between Nawaz and his brother Shahbaz Sharif at Nawaz’s residence where he took this decision.
Analysts say the only course of action for the Sharifs is to take the case to court but that might take time. Since Nawaz’s doctors have stated that he is in immediate danger and needs to be treated abroad, going to court might be a difficult decision for the family.
Nawaz’s departure is now unconfirmed and Geo News sources are claiming that an air ambulance has not been called for transporting Nawaz, as previously claimed by the media.
On the other hand, the cabinet committee will officially announce tomorrow if Nawaz’s name has been taken off the exit control list. The decision will be announced at 10 am Wednesday morning.
Gear up Pakistanis – we’re getting a new superhero!
Comedy king Ahmed Ali Butt and the talented duo behind Load Wedding and Actor in Law, Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza are coming together for a new superhero film titled Fatman.
Butt announced the film on social media by sharing a selfie with the film’s makers.
He captioned it, “AlhumduliAllah it’s official. My next film and my first as a lead with these crazy people.”
“Looking forward to making a great film with these great, creative filmmakers and hope you’ll all love it as much as I love the script… InshAllah, see you next year.”
The film’s name had us intrigued so we got in touch with the director and lead actor for some inside details.
Speaking exclusively about the film to The Current, Ahmad said, “It’s a different and bold take on superhero films but at the core, it is a story about a father-son relationship.”
He added, “It also addresses body shaming, yet keeps the family entering factors in mind.”
Meanwhile, Nabeel revealed, “It’s a real-life superhero family entertainment film with a great message which talks about body shaming, with pun intended.”
The film will be directed by Nabeel and produced by Fizza Ali Meerza under their production house Filmwala Pictures. Shooting for the film is expected to start early next year while the release is slated to be in late 2020.
Local media reports are headlining that Prime Minister Imran Khan and Indian Punjab’s Chief Minister Amarinder Singh share family ties. But while the two certainly do share history, they are not related.
According to an official statement issued by Singh’s office, PM Imran and Singh on their five-minute bus ride on the inauguration of the Kartarpur Corridor discovered a ‘special connect’ between their two families even though they had not met each other before and neither did the two know each other personally.
The statement read, “During his conversation with [PM] Imran, Captain Amarinder told the latter that his uncle, Jahangir Khan had played for Patiala, along with Mohd Nisar, Lala Amarnath, fast bowler Amar Singh and the two Ali batsmen (Wazir Ali and Amir Ali).
“These seven players were part of the team captained by Captain Amarinder’s father, Maharaja Yadvinder Singh (the ruler of the erstwhile Patiala state) in 1934-35, for India and for Patiala.”
Jahangir was married to PM Imran’s maternal aunt, Mubarak, and was a cricketer during the British Raj era.
The Congress leader’s office said that the bus ride lasted less than five minutes, but, thanks to cricket, it was enough to break the ice between the two leaders.
The Punjab chief minister was part of the group of over 550 Indian pilgrims who were the first Indians to enter Pakistan through the Kartarpur Corridor.
Singh shared the bus ride with the premier after he was received by PM Imran and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi at the Zero Point of the International Border of the Kartarpur corridor.
Fashion designer Ali Xeeshan, known for his eccentric and opulent wedding couture, tied the knot with a journalist named Myrah Khan on Sunday. The afternoon wedding which took place in Islamabad was an intimate affair with only close friends of the designer present.
Pictures from the event were widely shared on social media and the couple looked lovely in complementary outfits.
While the bride glowed in a blush pink and gold wedding outfit, the groom looked dapper in an off-white sherwani.
A video of the designer helping his wife fix her dupatta also went viral on social media.
The couple also took to the dance floor to celebrate their marriage.
Members of the fashion industry including models, stylists and makeup artists were in attendance at the intimate afternoon wedding ceremony.
Bollywood actor turned politician Sunny Deol, who was present at the opening of the Kartarpur Corridor expressed happiness at the historical event and hoped it will help in bringing peace between India and Pakistan.
Deol, upon his arrival back in India, spoke to a local channel and remarked, “It was a great occasion. I received a lot of love.”
“This is just the beginning. I hope things remain the same and we all live in love. This is the beginning of peace.”
When probed further, Deol said, “Log bohat pyaar kartay hain. This is a great initiative. And I hope things will continue like this.”
He concluded, “What’s the point of fighting, there should be love only.”

Previously, while speaking to ANI, Deol had said, “It was a really nice visit. I hope that the corridor further helps in maintaining peace (between India and Pakistan). This was ours beginning towards it.”
The BJP MP was a part of the first official ‘jatha’ which attended the inauguration ceremony of the Kartarpur Corridor in Pakistan. Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu also attended the event on the invitation of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Kartarpur Sahib Corridor links Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan, the final resting place of Sikhism founder Guru Nanak Dev, to Dera Baba Nanak shrine in Indian Punjab’s Gurdaspur district.
It was a historic day for Pakistan, India and their relations as the world witnessed the opening of the Kartarpur Corridor – an initiative that will allow 5,000 Indian Sikh pilgrims to visit the second holiest place for their community on a daily basis without a visa.
The opening ceremony was performed on both sides of the border by Prime Minister Imran Khan on the Pakistan side and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Indian side.
Like the rest of the country, Pakistani celebs including Mehwish Hayat, Wasim Akram, Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed, took to social media to express their joy on this ‘corridor of peace’ and praised PM Khan and his government for taking this step and seeing this through.
The opening of the #KartarpurCorridorForPeace in time for Guru Nanak’s 550th Gurpurab is a real milestone. It’s a sign of true religious harmony & how open hearted Pakistanis are. All too often men build walls & not enough bridges .. 🇵🇰 #Kartarpur#Kartarpur2Khalistan2020
PM Khan’s cricket buddies Wasim Akram and Shoaib Akhtar applauded him for this efforts.
Our PM just keeps knocking it out of the park! The opening of #KartarpurCorridor shows who we are as a nation & the direction our country is heading towards. There should be no doubt in anyone’s mind that Pakistan is a dignified country of peace.Welcome our Sikh brother & sisters

As the #KartarpurCorridor opens, #Pakistan has won my heart. What a win for diplomacy and a lesson for the subcontinent. Respect and tolerance for each other is the only message that should echo in the region. Congratulations Pakistan!
To many more corridors of peace & prosperity inshAllah 🇵🇰❤️❤️ #KartarpurCorridor Always always proud of my country & my prime minister @ImranKhanPTI 🙏🏻 To better days….
PM @ImranKhanPTI leading from the front. #KartarpurCorridor strengthens spiritual ties between Pakistan & the world’s Sikh community. In a world of hate & division, @ImranKhanPTI unites hearts.
Armeena Khan and Mehwish also took this moment to compare the Kartarpur Corridor Project to the Ayodha Judgement that was announced earlier in the day.
The #BabriMasjid verdict & the opening of the #KartarpurCorridor 2day hv shown how tolerant the 2 respective countries are towards minority religions. While we’re opening up to other faiths, our neighbours seem 2be suppressing them further. Why can't the world see what is going on? pic.twitter.com/Re9bMwBieA
Every Saturday night, the hashtag Alif – a nod to Hamza Ali Abbasi and Sajal Aly’s drama – begins to trend on Twitter, intriguing everyone. But that probably has more to do with Hamza Ali Abbasi’s star power on Twitter because if you look at the views and compare them to the views of rival drama, Meray Paas Tum Ho, you get a completely different picture.
While Alif in its essence is thought-provoking, layered and intense, the pace of the drama is killing interest and ultimately making it tiresome to watch.
The sixth episode shows Momin get rid of his ladylove Neha, played by Sadaf Kanwal after she continuously pushes him to cast her ‘friend’ in his next film. The breakup isn’t very pleasant and the two vow to get their revenge from each other. While I do commend Sadaf for doing an above-average job as far as her acting is concerned, her performance doesn’t match that of Hamza, who is giving this character all of him. Sadaf’s dialogue delivery is monotonous and sounds as if uss nay ratta maara hai – it is completely devoid of emotion.
Other than that, we are given another flashback to Momin’s childhood, when someone mentions Husn-e-Jahaan. To be very frank, I’m sick of watching these flashbacks because all Kubra does in them is cry, while the child Momin is borderline annoying.
On the other hand, Momina (Sajal Aly) is struggling with the death of her brother Jahangir. The entire family is broken after his death and the emotions shown by the actors are brilliantly raw and invoke sympathy in you.
While the rest of the episode was slow, it picked up in the last ten minutes with the interactions between Momin and Neha and Momina and her master (Saifee Hassan).
Oh and one thing: a message for the producers/director – that cut jump in one of the scenes was abrupt and highlighted lazy production. Not cool guys, we expect better.
The teaser for the next episode is catchy with the return of a previous character and Momin heading to Turkey to visit his grandfather.
Everyone on Twitter keeps praising Alif for its “great acting, storyline and powerful dialogues.” I do agree with the great acting and [somewhat] powerful dialogues bit, but I’m still waiting for a proper storyline to develop and become more engaging. Six episodes should be more than enough to get the ball rolling. No?
Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s aide and British-Pakistani businessman Aneel Mussarat on Saturday was ridiculed by former Indian prime minister (PM) Manmohan Singh’s security as the former approached the Indian National Congress (INC) leader for a selfie.
In a video, widely being shared over the internet, Mussarat was seen introducing himself to Singh as he shakes his hand. He, however, is stopped from taking a selfie by the ex-Indian premier’s guards who push him back.

Earlier in the day, PM Imran Khan, his team, ex-Indian PM Singh, cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu and Bollywood actor Sunny Deol among other prominent Pakistanis and Indians reached the Kartarpur to attend the opening ceremony of the much-awaited corridor.
Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, situated in Kartarpur, is the second holiest place for the Sikh community. Located 120 km away from Lahore, it is at a distance of only 4 kilometres from the Pakistan-India border.
It has been said in the agreement reached between Pakistan and India — to fulfill the much-awaited demand of the Sikh community — that 5,000 Indian Sikh pilgrims will be allowed to visit the Gurdwara through the Kartarpur Corridor on a daily basis.

We visited the event on the first day and here are the only places you should visit at Lahore Eat:

Apart from these, the Lahore Eat also had a variety of local eateries – there was Urban Kitchen, Burns Road, Novu, Savour Foods, Bombay Chowpatty, Delish, Upper Crust etc, restaurants you can visit everyday, which didn’t have anything new to offer. Karachi beats Lahore quite often when it comes to the food festival wars but this year, Lahore Eat did not disappoint.
Send us your reviews and pictures and remember to take your masks along. You never know when the smog will strike.
Deol is not the only famous Indian who will be joining the ceremony. Former prime minister Manmohan Singh, Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh and Congress lawmaker Navjot Singh Sidhu will also be joining the ceremony.
The inaugural ceremony for the Kartarpur Corridor will be held on both sides of the border on Saturday, November 9.
The
corridor will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Imran Khan on the Pakistani
side, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi will do the opening on the other side
of the border.
Thousands of Sikh pilgrims arrive in Pakistan every year by a special train to participate in the three-day festival marking the birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism.
However, this year is special as it is not only the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak but also marks the opening of Kartarpur Corridor between Pakistan and India that allows Sikh pilgrims to visit Gurdwara without a passport.
