His family claimed that the Station House Officer (SHO) Iqbal Abbassi is responsible for the alleged murder of Hanif in custody.

First Information Report (FIR) was filed by the victim’s brother, Insaf Katiar, against five policemen including three officers of the Rahuki police station.

According to the complainant, the two brothers left their house, located in a village in Jhando Mari taluka of Tando Allahyar district on a Saturday morning to sell their livestock in a cattle market in Tando Adam, Sanghar district. When they were leaving for a house, SHO Abbassi and his accomplices wearing civil dress stopped them. They started beating Hanif and took him away in a private car.

The next day (Sunday) at 10 am in the morning, his family found out that Hanif has been killed in police custody and his body has been shifted to Liaquat University Hospital.

However, the accused policemen escaped from arrest, and their families claimed to be unaware of their whereabouts.

The victim’s family also held a protest in front of the hospital. However, a policeman took them to SSP Hyderabad and he gave his assurance that police would lodge an FIR and fairly investigate the case.
