‘Illegal and stupid’: Shaniera Akram slams Hania Aamir over bike stunt
Actress Hania Aamir has landed in hot water after a viral video showed her standing on a moving motorbike while a man drove it. Instead of sitting behind the rider, Hania was seen balancing on her feet, sparking outrage over the dangerous stunt.
Among those criticizing the act was Shaniera Akram, wife of Sultan of Swing Wasim Akram, who took to Instagram to vent.
Sharing the clip on her story, she wrote, “I worked so hard for so many years with hospitals and doctors to try to influence the youth of Pakistan to wear helmets and ride safely. This is like a dagger to my heart! Celebrities have the power to influence millions. It breaks my heart when this is abused.”
Calling the act “terrifying,” Shaniera stressed the responsibility celebrities hold toward their audiences. “When I see content that shows a much-loved celebrity that millions follow and emulate, completely ignoring their social media responsibilities, it is terrifying. For one stupid post there could be thousands of casualties. This does not sit well with me,” she said.
She admitted she does not enjoy calling people out, but felt compelled to speak up. “I don’t like to be the one who calls out someone who has 19 million followers, but if I can influence the influencers not to post such reckless or irresponsible content, then it is worth it. Hate me if you want, but I can’t sit back when so many people have died doing these stunts for popularity on their platforms. There is so much more to life. Please ride safely and wear a helmet, if not for yourself, do it for your loved ones whose lives would be ruined if something ever happened to you.”
Shaniera made it clear she has nothing personal against Hania. “I want you all to know, I have nothing personal against @haniaheheofficial, but she should know better than this. Come on, I shouldn’t have to be pointing it out! It’s not rocket science, it’s illegal and stupid! I’m just a mom, a concerned citizen, and someone who has travelled to universities across Pakistan in my own spare time, begging kids to ride safely and with helmets. I really hope she sees this is not okay and sets it straight with a post that reminds her followers not to copy this kind of behaviour. And thank God nothing happened to her.”

‘Self-amusement’: Chinese expert rubbishes Indian claim of downing Pakistani jets
Senior Research Fellow at the Charhar Institute, Prof. Cheng Xizhong, on Sunday, termed Indian Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh’s claim that India had shot down five Pakistani fighter jets and one large aircraft during the conflict in early May “self-amusement.”
In a statement, Xizhong said, “The remarks by the Indian air chief marshal are comical, implausible, and unconvincing. We may call it self-amusement.”
Cheng stated New Delhi’s allegations lacked strong evidence and have been “widely questioned by the international community, being considered groundless.”
“It is thus evident that no Pakistani fighter jet was hit or destroyed by the Indian side. On the contrary, the Pakistani side shot down six Indian fighter jets and destroyed S-400 air defence positions, among other achievements, which is an indisputable fact,” he added.
Speaking at an event in Bengaluru on Saturday, the Indian air chief marshal had claimed: “We have at least five fighters confirmed killed, and one large aircraft,” adding that the large aircraft, which could be a surveillance plane, was shot down at a distance of 300 kilometres.
He alleged that India’s Russian-made S-400 surface-to-air missile system was responsible for downing most of the Pakistani aircraft, citing electronic tracking data as evidence of the strikes.
Without detailing the type of fighter jets that were downed, he claimed that airstrikes also hit an additional surveillance plane and “a few F-16” fighters that were parked in hangars at two air bases in Sindh and Punjab. “This is actually the largest ever recorded surface-to-air kill,” he added.
Singh’s remarks came three months after the neighbouring countries’ severe military conflict in May. The statement raises eyebrows about the timing, and he did not present any evidence, such as photos of the fighter jet’s wreckage and radar monitoring data.
Pakistan said it downed five Indian planes in air-to-air combat on the night of May 6-7, later stating that the figure had climbed up to six. India’s highest-ranking General has also acknowledged that its forces “suffered losses” in the air, and their air force was grounded for two days; however, he denied losing six aircraft.

Fawad Khan’s Bollywood venture ‘Abir Gulaal’ set for August release, but not in India
Pakistani superstar Fawad Khan’s film ‘Abir Gulaal’ is set to release on August 29, 2025, under the new title ‘Aabeer Gulal’, according to Indian media reports.
The film was originally scheduled to release on May 12, but was postponed following the attack on tourists in the Pahalgam area of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir in late April, which left several people dead.
India blamed Pakistan for the Pahalgam attack, a claim Pakistan has strongly denied. Following the incident, India imposed restrictions on Pakistani artists and YouTube channels.
Since Fawad Khan played the lead role in Abir Gulaal, the film faced an indefinite ban.
Recently, The Times of India reported that the film will now be released on August 29 and that “its name has been changed to ‘Aabeer Gulal’.”
The movie will not have an official release in India. Instead, it will follow the distribution model of the Indian Punjabi film Sardaar Ji 3, meaning it will be released worldwide but not in India.
Diljit Dosanjh and Pakistani superstar Hania Aamir starred in Sardaar Ji 3, which was also not released in India. Despite the ban, the film broke several records, becoming the highest-grossing Indian film in Pakistan.
According to media reports, the film, made on a budget of around Rs 48 crore, collected approximately Rs 480 crore at the global box office.
