Operation if terrorist refuse to vacate Bajaur, security officials give options to jirga

Security forces have offered tribal jirgas options for negotiations with the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), reportedly mingling with civilians in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) Bajaur.

According to The News, the first option for the tribal jirgas is that the Khawarij leave Bajaur; the second is that the tribes vacate the area to allow an operation to eliminate them.

Citing security sources, the report said government-level talks with the Khawarij and their facilitators have been rejected, with officials insisting there will be no negotiations until they fully submit to the state.

The report added that deliberate attempts are being made to blur the differences between the tribes and the Khawarij in Bajaur, though the ground realities are different. The Khawarij are allegedly using negotiations as a smokescreen to prepare for war, living among civilians while committing terrorist and criminal acts.

Meanwhile, KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, along with security officials, has presented three points to the tribes:

These Khawarij, most of whom are Afghan natioanls, should be expelled from the area.

If the tribes cannot expel the Khawarij themselves, they should vacate the area for one or two days so that security forces can bring them to their end.

If both these steps are not possible, maximum efforts will be made to avoid harm to ordinary citizens, because the operation against terrorists will continue in any case.

The outlet quoted security sources as saying it has been made clear that only the state holds the authority to carry out any armed action. They added that Pakistan witnessed 600 terrorist attacks in 2024, all with financial and operational support from the Afghan Taliban.

‘If I made a mistake, forgive me’: Asim Azhar’s on-stage words to Hania Aamir spark reunion rumors

Pakistan’s entertainment world is buzzing about a possible reunion between actress Hania Aamir and singer-actor Asim Azhar.

The speculation began after the two were spotted at a star-studded launch event in Karachi for the energy drink Revive. Asim Azhar was among the performing artists, while Hania Aamir attended as one of the brand’s ambassadors.

Asim lit up the stage with his hit songs, while Hania, dressed in a white dress and sunglasses, danced joyfully in the front row alongside friends and fellow actors Yashma Gill and Komal Meer. Viral clips show her swaying to Asim’s tunes, smiling, and clapping.

The moment that truly caught fans’ attention came about when Asim told the audience, “This is not just a concert, but a personal experience very close to my heart. If I have made a mistake, please forgive me.”

Hania was seen responding with applause and a small bow, a gesture many interpreted as her accepting the apology.

In another viral video, Asim is seen stepping down from the stage to shake Hania’s hand, a moment that instantly fueled rumors of reconciliation.

The buzz grew further after fans noted the timing, as reports recently surfaced about the end of Asim’s engagement to Merab Ali.

Social media users are now convinced that the former couple has forgiven each other and decided to move forward. Whether this is the start of a new chapter for ‘Hansim’ remains to be seen, but the public is certainly watching.

Pakistani YouTuber and crypto trader Saad ur Rehman, aka Ducky Bhai, has bagged what he calls the biggest purchase of his life, a luxurious new home worth Rs 10 crore and the internet has plenty to say about it.

In his latest vlog, Ducky took fans on an emotional tour starting from the modest house where his YouTube journey began to the lavish property he just bought, complete with grand chandeliers, sprawling lawns, and a bathroom “as big as a bedroom.” The asking price was Rs 12 crore, but after some friendly negotiation, and the seller revealing that he was a fan, the deal closed at Rs 10 crore.

“This is the first house I’m buying for myself,” Ducky said, hoping to inspire viewers.

But while many sent him love, not everyone was buying the “hard work” narrative. “What work was worked hard?” one Instagram user asked, while another added, “CONGRATULATIONS but how do you explain work?” One wrote, “Hard work? Ye wala hard work mere ko bhi karna hai.”

Supporters were quick to clap back, with one writing, “You earned every brick of it! Congratulations on turning dreams into reality,” and another adding, “MashAllah congratulations .” Some mixed honesty with praise: “Jealous awam in comments. PS: I hate Ducky too but he is achieving what we dream of.” Others kept it short: “Hardworking, what a joke.”

Ducky isn’t just making money from YouTube vlogs, he’s also trading crypto, recently revealing he made over $80,000 in a single month.

  • PSL is second most entertaining league: Report

PSL is second most entertaining league: Report

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has been ranked as the second most entertaining men’s franchise cricket league in the world, according to an analysis by BBC Sport, placing it just behind the Indian Premier League (IPL) in overall rankings.

The report, released earlier this week, evaluated major T20 and short-format franchise competitions, including the IPL, PSL, SA20 in South Africa, Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL), the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), the UAE’s International League T20 (ILT20), and The Hundred in England.

Conducted in collaboration with cricket analytics company CricViz, the study assessed leagues based on a range of performance and entertainment metrics such as the average number of boundaries per match, batting strike rates, proportion of close finishes, home advantage trends, wicket-taking patterns, and the average number of international caps among starting XIs.

The PSL led all leagues in average first-innings scores with 180 runs per match, one run higher than the IPL’s 179. It was also second only to the IPL in close finishes, with 27.5 percent of matches decided in the final over, compared to the IPL’s 28.9 percent. The PSL also ranked second in boundaries per game.

In terms of player quality measured through international experience, the PSL averaged 351 international caps across starting XIs, second only to the ILT20’s 423, which benefits from a higher overseas player allowance.

The BBC report acknowledged the PSL for delivering “quality, thrill and big runs,” noting its consistent production of high-scoring, competitive matches and its ability to attract leading international cricketers.

The IPL topped the chart in the “Entertainment Index,” which combined scores across all metrics, with a score of 4.53 out of five, followed by the PSL at 3.90. The ILT20 came third with 2.44, The Hundred ranked fourth, CPL fifth, SA20 sixth, while the BBL finished last.

Since its launch in 2016, the PSL has grown into one of cricket’s most high-profile franchise leagues, featuring six city-based teams and offering a platform for emerging Pakistani players to compete alongside some of the game’s biggest names.

  • Modi turned down White House invitation over concern of meeting COAS Munir: Bloomberg

Modi turned down White House invitation over concern of meeting COAS Munir: Bloomberg

Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi dodged an invitation from United States (US) President Donald Trump to visit the White House in June, wary that the latter would set up a meeting with the Pakistani Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir, Bloomberg reported on Friday.

The meeting between the COAS and the US president took place on June 18 at the White House over lunch, and following the meeting, Trump said that he was “honoured” to meet the General.

The Indian premier was reportedly returning from Canada after attending the G7 summit when he was invited to visit the White House, an invitation Modi had refused citing his scheduled visit to Croatia.

Quoting officials in New Delhi, the outlet reported that tensions between the two countries intensified following a 35-minute phone call between the US president and Modi that took place on June 17.

During the call, Trump repeatedly claimed credit for the ceasefire brokered by the US between Pakistan and India on May 10; however, India downplayed the matter.

After the ceasefire, Islamabad extended thanks to Trump, acknowledging his role in brokering the ceasefire between the two countries. Later, Islamabad also nominated President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Conversely, India objected to Trump’s role in the cessation of hostilities between two countries that erupted after New Delhi launched illegitimate strikes on the night of May 6-7, targeting civilians in Pakistan in response to the April 22 Pahalgam militant attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) that killed 26 civilians.

The relationship between New Delhi and Washington, DC appears to have nosedived after Trump imposed an additional 25 percent tariff on Indian goods in the US, bringing the total to 50 percent.

In an executive order issued from the White House, Trump said, “I find that the Government of India is currently directly or indirectly importing Russian Federation oil.”

“Accordingly, and as consistent with applicable law, articles of India imported into the customs territory of the United States shall be subject to an additional ad valorem rate of duty of 25pc.”

In a statement issued on X (formerly Twitter), later in the day, India declared Trump’s decision “extremely unfortunate”, adding that New Delhi would take all actions necessary to protect its national interests.

“We reiterate that these actions are unfair, unjustified and unreasonable,” it said.

  • UEFA slammed for tribute to Palestinian star martyred by Israel while waiting for aid

UEFA slammed for tribute to Palestinian star martyred by Israel while waiting for aid

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) is facing widespread criticism after posting a tribute to Palestinian football legend Suleiman al-Obeid without mentioning that he was killed in an Israeli gunfire while waiting for aid.

On Saturday, UEFA shared a photo of the 41-year-old former national team forward on X, writing, “Farewell to Suleiman al-Obeid, the ‘Palestinian Pelé’. A talent who gave hope to countless children, even in the darkest of times.”

Social media users were quick to call out the governing body for not mentioning how he was killed and for failing to condemn Israel’s actions.

“I think you missed out a few key details there bud,” one user wrote. Another said, “No mention of how he died tho right?” One comment read, “You should condemn the actions of Israel,” while another urged, “Mention everything. The world wants to know the truth!”

One user wrote: “Imagine that it was Russia who killed him, and mention that Israel was the one who killed him. The media are liars, and so is the union. Human rights are based on religion and interests.”

Others demanded UEFA to “ban Israel from all sports” and accused the organisation of “legitimising genocide through inaction.”

According to the Palestine Football Association, the former national team forward was waiting for aid along with others when the area came under Israeli gunfire.

The 41-year-old former international, who scored more than 100 goals in his career, was immensely popular among Palestinians. His talent and style of play earned him the nickname “Pele of Palestine.”

Al-Obeid is survived by his wife and five children.

Arab media reported that the number of athletes killed in Israeli strikes on Gaza since October 2023 has reached 662. Among them, 321 were affiliated with football, including players, coaches, referees, officials, and club board members.

  • Vaani Kapoor defends Diljit Dosanjh amid backlash over film with Hania Aamir

Vaani Kapoor defends Diljit Dosanjh amid backlash over film with Hania Aamir

Indian actress Vaani Kapoor has spoken out in defence of Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh, who is facing intense criticism for working with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3.

The film’s release has been blocked in India. The ongoing Indo-Pak tensions, which escalated in April following the Phalgam attack, led to a ban on Pakistani content in the country.

A large-scale boycott campaign against Diljit also continues to trend on social media, as he stars alongside Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his new movie.

While many have condemned him, some fellow artists and fans have voiced their support, including Bollywood star Vaani Kapoor.

In a recent interview with NDTV, Vaani Kapoor said, “He did not break any law. The film was probably completed before the incident, and more than 100 technical staff also worked on it.”

She added, “Diljit never intended to disrespect the country. He is a world-renowned artist, and his investment would have been in the film, which would probably result in his loss.”

While several Indian artists have opposed Diljit and called for a boycott of his film, veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah has spoken in his favour, urging that the issue be handled more sensibly.
