  • ‘Money can do anything’: Imad Wasim reacts to Sikandar Raza’s PSL heroics

‘Money can do anything’: Imad Wasim reacts to Sikandar Raza’s PSL heroics

Pakistani all-rounder Imad Wasim, who also played for Islamabad United, praised Zimbabwean cricketer Sikandar Raza’s brilliant performance in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final during a recent talk show appearance.

“Of course, we know him as a stellar player from Zimbabwe, but his commitment to Lahore Qalandars and to the PSL is exceptional,” Wasim remarked.

“Yes, money can do things for you. If you get paid, you will come. I travel a lot. So I travel for 24 hours straight as well. Money can do different things… A great human being and a proper team man. Good player, and you can call him a match-winner now,” he added.

These compliments came after Sunday night’s thrilling final, when Lahore Qalandars won their third PSL title by defeating Quetta Gladiators in a last-over finish. Chasing a target of 202 runs, Sikandar Raza’s stunning cameo turned the game around in the final moments and sealed the victory for Lahore.

The talk of the evening, however, was his exhausting travel schedule. Having just played a Test match for Zimbabwe against England, he took a 7-hour flight from Birmingham to Dubai, a 1.5-hour drive to Abu Dhabi, followed by a 3.5-hour flight to Lahore. He arrived at the stadium only 10 minutes before the toss.

Despite this hectic trip, Raza stepped up when the team was under pressure and delivered his best. With eight runs needed off the last three balls, he smashed a six and a four to finish unbeaten on 22 off just seven balls.

After the match, Raza said, “I had dinner in Birmingham, breakfast in Dubai, and drove to Abu Dhabi for lunch. I took a flight and had dinner in Pakistan. This is the life of a professional cricketer. I’m truly humbled and blessed to have this life.”

Quetta posted a target of 201 for 9,  with Mohammad Nawaz scoring 76 runs and quick contributions from Faheem Ashraf and Avishka Fernando. Lahore’s bowlers, however, took the lead with Shaheen Afridi taking three wickets, while Haris Rauf and Salman Mirza claimed two wickets each.

In Lahore’s chase, Mohammad Naeem scored a fiery 47, while Kusal Perera remained not out on 62. But it was Sikandar Raza’s dramatic finish that stole the show and turned him into the match-winner Imad Wasim proudly spoke of.

Major data breach as 184 million Apple, Netflix, Google logins leaked

A serious data leak has recently come to light, exposing the login credentials (usernames and passwords) of over 184 million users.

According to reports, the information was found in an unsecured, password-free Elasticsearch database discovered earlier this month by security researcher Jeremia Fowler.

The affected platforms include well-known services such as Apple, Netflix, PayPal, Google, Facebook, Roblox, Snapchat, and Microsoft.

The leaked data also contained login details linked to bank accounts, health platforms, and accounts associated with government email domains (gov.) from at least 29 countries, raising national security concerns.

Experts believe the data was likely collected using the “Infostealer” malware, which steals login credentials from infected computers.

The database did not contain any personally identifiable information, suggesting that the data might have been gathered by cybercriminals or for research purposes.

Users are advised to enable two-factor authentication (2FA) to protect their accounts better.

It is also recommended to avoid storing passwords in emails or unsecured files, keep antivirus and security software updated, and monitor for any unusual login activities.

Ducky Bhai froze on stage when THIS Bollywood star called him

Popular Pakistani YouTuber Ducky Bhai found himself in an unexpectedly hilarious and awkward moment during his latest visit to Dubai when Bollywood star Nora Fatehi called him on stage.

Recorded in his vlog, Ducky was attending an event in the city when his friend Hamza joked, “She [Nora] will call you on stage!”

To everyone’s surprise, that’s exactly what happened.

When Nora Fatehi invited Ducky to join her on stage for a dance, things took a funny turn. Instead of dancing along, Ducky froze in panic.

“I told you earlier, I don’t dance!” he said to his friend afterwards, visibly sweating.

He joked, “The whole of Pakistan will spit on me,” regretting not giving even one dance move.

The two continued to laugh about it, with his friend teasing, “She walked off the stage crying, she said, ‘This Ducky did mischief!’”

PSL 10 sets multiple new records

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 concluded with a thriller final at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, where Lahore Qalandars won their third title by defeating Quetta Gladiators in a high-scoring match.

Batting first, Quetta Gladiators posted a competitive target of 201 for 8 in their 20 overs. Lahore Qalandars, however, chased down the target with just one ball to spare, losing four wickets in process.

Records and highlights from PSL X:

    Shaheen Shah Afridi’s captaincy

Lahore Qalandars won their third PSL title this year under the captaincy of Shaheen Shah Afridi, who has now become the most successful captain in PSL history. The team had previously lifted the trophy in 2022 and 2023. No other captain has won the title more than once.

    Poor fielding

A record-breaking 96 catches were dropped this season, in addition to a number of misfields and missed stumping, the worst fielding performance in PSL history so far.

    Muhammad Naeem’s six-hitting feat

Lahore Qalandar’s young talent, Muhammad Naeem, made history by hitting six sixes in the final, becoming the first player to achieve this feat in a PSL final. He scored 47 off 27 balls, with 315 runs in 12 matches at an average of 28.63.

    Lahore Qalandars’ unique achievement

Lahore Qalandars became the first team to successfully chase over 200 runs in a T20 final, not just in PSL but across all franchise leagues. In comparison, Quetta Gladiators became the only team to lose a T20 final despite scoring more than 200.

    Most sixes in PSL history

PSL 10 also set a record for most sixes in a single season, with 500 sixes smashed across all matches, making it the highest in the league yet.

A surprising prediction made in 2016 about actress Neelam Muneer has come true nearly eight years later.

During her recent appearance on a TV show, a throwback clip from 2016 was played, in which astrologer Agha Beheshti made a prediction about her future.

In 2024, however, in a surprising turn of events, Neelam tied the knot with a Pakistani man working in the CID department of Dubai Police and has since moved to Dubai.

The 14-time French Open champion at the premier clay court was honoured in a special ceremony at Court Philippe-Chatrier, the arena where he carved his name into tennis history. The tribute concluded with a symbolic gesture, unveiling a plaque of Nadal’s footprint and signature – a permanent reminder of his dominance on clay.

“It was perfect,” Nadal said. “I could not have expected a more emotional day. It was unforgettable with plenty of emotions.”

To make the day even more special, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray all came to Paris to join him. The “Big Four” of men’s tennis shared the court once again.

“All the nerves and pressure from our matches, it all felt different today,” Nadal said. “We fought hard for titles, but we respected each other.”

  • Indian Muslim family battles terrorism allegations after teacher dies in shelling

Indian Muslim family battles terrorism allegations after teacher dies in shelling

Mohammad Iqbal, a teacher at a madrassa in Poonch, Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), was killed on May 7 in cross-border shelling. The shelling occurred amid Indian military aggression against Pakistan, following the April 22 attack in Pahalgam that left 26 people dead. While India has blamed Pakistan for the incident, it has yet to present any concrete evidence.

In an interview with the BBC, Farooq Ahmed said that Iqbal died at Zia-ul-Uloom, where he had taught for over 20 years. However, as news of his death spread, some media outlets falsely labelled him a terrorist. These claims were later refuted by police in an official statement.

“My brother was an educator, yet they classified him as a terrorist just because of his beard and skullcap,” Ahmed said.

“It felt like adding insult to injury. We had already lost Iqbal, and then the media tarnished his name. The deceased cannot defend themselves.”

The locals have suffered through repeated escalations over the disputed territory of Kashmir, which is claimed by both India and Pakistan. Three wars have been fought over the region, and tensions have flared again this month.

During the military confrontation, a wave of misinformation spread across social media and news outlets. Alongside false rumours about Iqbal, several unverified claims surfaced, including fake attack reports and AI-generated videos, many of which were later debunked by official sources.

“The extent of misinformation and baseless assertions being circulated by the media was astonishing,” states Manisha Pande, managing editor of an independent news outlet.

She notes that while sensationalism is not unusual, “the jingoistic and irresponsible reporting” was notable for its severity.

“I have no idea where news channels obtained their information regarding my brother,” Ahmed states.

“Who did they consult? What kind of evidence did they have to label my brother a terrorist?”

On May 8, Poonch police released a statement clarifying that Iqbal had died as a result of cross-border shelling at the madrassa.

“Poonch Police strongly denies such false narratives. The deceased, Maulana Mohd Iqbal, was a respected figure within the local community and had no links to any terrorist organization,” the statement read.

However, for Ahmed, the clarification came too late.

“By that time, the misleading claim would likely have reached millions of people across India,” he laments.

Iqbal leaves behind two wives and eight children. He was the sole breadwinner for the family.

“The entire family relied on my brother. He was a soft-spoken and kind man who cherished teaching children,” Ahmed remembers.

“But who will convey this to the world? For many, my brother continues to be seen as a terrorist whose death is justified. How will they ever grasp our sorrow?” he added.

  • Security forces kill nine Indian-sponsored terrorists in three separate KP operations

Security forces kill nine Indian-sponsored terrorists in three separate KP operations

Security forces have killed nine Indian sponsored Khwarij in three separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Province in the last two days, Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement issued on Sunday.

“An intelligence-based operation was conducted by the Security Forces in Dera Ismail Khan District, on the reported presence of Indian sponsored Khwarij. During the operation, Pakistani troops effectively engaged the Khwarij location, and after an intense fire exchange, four Indian sponsored khwarij were sent to hell,” said the military’s media wing.

The ISPR further detailed that another intelligence-based operation was conducted in the Tank District, and in the ensuing fire exchange, security forces sent another two Indian sponsored Khwarij to hell.

In the third encounter that took place in the general area of Bagh, Khyber District, troops successfully neutralised three more Khwarij.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the terrorists, who had been actively involved in terrorist activities in these areas.

Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate remaining terrorists in the area, as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of Indian Sponsored Terrorism from the country, said the ISPR.

Pakistan has witnessed a sharp spike in terror incidents since the fall of Kabul in August 2021, particularly in the border provinces of KP and Balochistan.

However, the first quarter of 2025 saw promising trends in the security landscape of Pakistan, with the fatalities of militants and insurgents outnumbering the cumulative losses of civilians and security forces personnel.

Separately, the death toll in the Khuzdar bus blast near Zero Point rose to eight after two more female students succumbed to their injuries in a hospital on Sunday.

Media reports quoted security sources as claiming that two students, Shema Ibrahim and Muskan, died at the hospital after fighting for their life for four days.

Media reports stated that the explosion has claimed the lives of eight students, including seven females and one male student.

On May 21, at least five people, including three female students, were killed on the spot and 43 others wounded in the attack on a school bus near Zero Point in Khuzdar on the Quetta-Karachi highway when it was on students at the Army Public School (APS) in Khuzdar Cantonment.

‘Order some brain too’; Fawad Chaudhry mocks Adnan Sami over Indian flag earphones

Pakistan’s former Minister of Information Fawad Chaudhry took a sarcastic jab at singer Adnan Sami after he flaunted his new custom in-ear monitors with the Indian flag.

Adnan Sami, who renounced his Pakistani citizenship in 2016 and now resides in Mumbai, shared a picture on X (formerly Twitter) showcasing the earphones he uses for live performances.

“Just received my customised ‘In Ear Monitors’ from @ultimateearspro in USA for my live concerts! These are my 2nd pair & they sound incredible…They made this design with the Indian flag especially upon my request,” he wrote.

Reacting to this, Fawad Chaudhry commented, “Order Some Brain as well, Ears pro is too little for you.”

This isn’t the first time Fawad has trolled the singer.

Last month, when the Indian government ordered Pakistani citizens to leave the country due to rising tensions, Fawad had asked, “What about Adnan Sami?”

Adnan Sami didn’t stay quiet. In response, he called Fawad an “illiterate idiot.”

“To think that you were Minister of (Mis) Information and have no knowledge of any information… And you were Minister of Science?” Adnan said in his reply.
