  • Babar Azam addresses Rizwan’s ‘win or learn’ trolling

Babar Azam addresses Rizwan’s ‘win or learn’ trolling

Pakistan’s top-order batter and former skipper Babar Azam has come out in strong support of his teammate Mohammad Rizwan, who has been trolled online for his popular phrase “win or learn”.

Rizwan introduced the phrase to promote a positive outlook after defeat, but it has since turned into a meme with some mocking his English-speaking skills.

In a podcast on Peshawar Zalmi’s YouTube channel, Babar addressed the trolling campaign and criticised how people “misunderstood” Rizwan’s words. “Who did this? It was our own. It’s always our own who pull each other down,” he said.

Babar praised Rizwan’s strong mindset and said all the trolling over ‘win or learn’ had not affected him the slightest. “He is the kind of person who doesn’t care about what people say and doesn’t pay attention to it.”

“If he [Rizwan] said something and he said it from a different perspective, you can interpret and present it however you want,” he added.

“He is very strong… stronger than all of us and his faith is unshakable. Memes have zero effect on Rizwan. He says people have the right to express their opinions, and he’s not bothered by it,” Babar added.

The former skipper also reflected on how quickly public opinion changes, using Rizwan’s captaincy as an example. “A lot of people used to say ‘if Rizwan becomes captain, this will happen… that will happen’. Now they want him sacked. No one understands this better than I do.”

Babar also talked about the lack of awareness on mental health in Pakistan, especially when it comes to athletes. “In Pakistan, there is no concept of mental health… nothing is being done for it here while foreign players give mental health a lot of importance.”

“Here, if someone is falling, we just keep pushing them down and make memes out of them,” he continued.

Babar Azam is currently leading Peshawar Zalmi in the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Zalmi have won 4 out of 8 matches and must win their remaining games to qualify for the top four.

‘Humayun Saeed couldn’t have played Mustafa’s role’: Nadeem Baig on KMKT

Renowned director Nadeem Baig has shared that he believes Humayun Saeed could not have played the central role of Mustafa in last year’s smash hit drama Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum.

Nadeem Baig recently appeared on Wasay Chaudhry’s show Gossip, where he discussed several topics candidly.

In response to a question, Nadeem Baig said, “Both Humayun Saeed and Fahad Mustafa are excellent actors, and it’s difficult to choose between them. However, it’s important to pick a specific actor for each role.”

He added, “Not every actor can play every role.” Giving an example, he said, “Fahad Mustafa couldn’t have been in Main Manto Hoon Mein, and similarly, Humayun Saeed couldn’t have played the role of Mustafa in Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum.”

Speaking about introducing new talent to the Pakistani drama industry, Nadeem Baig said, “Many actors became famous through my dramas, but I never wanted them to work only in my projects.”

He also revealed, “I was the one who introduced Hamza Ali Abbasi to the drama industry.”

Nadeem Baig is regarded as one of the most successful directors in Pakistan. His hit projects include Jawani Phir Nahi Aani, Main Punjab Nahi Jaungi, London Nahi Jaungi, and Pyare Afzal.

He is now set to return to cinema with his new film Love Guru, releasing this Eid-ul-Adha. Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed will be seen in the lead roles.

Babar Azam deletes Instagram story after being ‘caught’ speeding

Pakistani cricket star Babar Azam caught the public’s eye after posting an Instagram story showing himself driving his luxury Audi e-Tron GT at a speed of 171 km/h. However, the story was deleted shortly after being uploaded, possibly amid backlash or to avoid trouble.

The video sparked mixed reactions on social media. While some fans made light of the situation, others expressed concern over the safety implications.

One user on X wrote, “Isi speed sy comeback karlo Babar bhai”, referencing his return to form. Another said, “What is this behaviour, Bobzy the King?”

One fan playfully commented, “SPEED Thora ahista sir, itni b kya jaldi ha?” while another urged caution, saying, “171 km/h on Pakistani roads? Stay safe, champ ❤”

This isn’t the first time the former national captain has been caught speeding. In September 2023, he was reportedly fined by the Punjab Motorway Police for exceeding the speed limit on a highway. He was behind the wheel of his Audi e-Tron GT. Although the exact fine amount was not disclosed, media reports confirmed that the cricketer was stopped by authorities and penalised.

However, Babar Azam has not issued any public statement regarding the recent incident or the removal of his Instagram story.

  • Barcelona win 28th LaLiga title in Hansi Flick’s first season

Barcelona win 28th LaLiga title in Hansi Flick’s first season

FC Barcelona have won its 28th La Liga title in style, finishing a strong season under new coach Hansi Flick.

A 2–0 victory over their city rivals Espanyol claimed the title with two games still to play. The win put Barcelona seven points ahead of second-placed Real Madrid, ending a close race for the top spot.

The two needed points were secured with a brilliant goal from young star Lamine Yamal, followed by another from Fermín López, sealing the team’s win and the championship.

But this title was about more than just the points. It was about how the team transformed. After a disappointing season last year, Hansi Flick took over from Xavi Hernández and brought fresh energy and ideas. He turned a young and inconsistent squad into a strong and exciting team. Flick’s attacking and high-pressing style helped Barcelona win 11 of their first 12 league matches. One of the biggest highlights of the season was a 4–0 win over Real Madrid in October.

There was a tough period during mid-season when Barcelona fell behind both Madrid clubs. However, the team came back strong in 2025 and went on an unbeaten run in the league, which played a major role in securing the title.

Barcelona’s attacking game under Flick visibly improved this season, scoring four or more goals in 13 league games, something fans hadn’t seen since the Messi era. Key players this season included Lamine Yamal, who had a breakout year; Raphinha, who enjoyed his best goal-scoring season; and Robert Lewandowski, who remained consistent up front. Pedri also played an important role in midfield. The team’s 4–3 win over Madrid in El Clásico last weekend was their fourth victory over their rivals this season, but it all confirmed the title.

Flick also led Barcelona to victories in the Supercopa and Copa del Rey, both times beating Madrid in the finals. With these three trophies, he has completed a domestic treble in his first season as manager.

Even though the team were knocked out in the Champions League semi-final by Inter Milan, their performance in Spain has shown that Barcelona are back and ready for more success in the future.

“This is a family,” Flick said after sealing the title. “Everyone plays their part. And that’s what makes champions.”

Barcelona still has two games left to play, against Villarreal and Athletic Bilbao, but the title has already been secured.

  • Sarah Umair says she slapped a director for harassing her

Sarah Umair says she slapped a director for harassing her

Actress Sarah Umair has shared a disturbing experience, dating back to the early days of her career, when a director repeatedly touched her inappropriately during a drama shoot, prompting her to slap him in front of everyone and walk off the set.

Sarah opened up about the harrowing incident during her appearance on Nida Yasir’s morning show, where fellow actresses Areej Chaudhry and Maimona Quddus were also present. Each of them shared personal accounts of harassment they faced in the industry.

“Many years ago, when I went to shoot in a small town in Sindh, the director repeatedly touched me inappropriately. I was shocked and furious,” Sarah recalled.

She contrasted the incident with the respectful behaviour of veteran director Kazim Pasha, highlighting the difference in how he treated actors on set. “I’ve worked with directors like Kazim Pasha, whom I consider my teacher. He never said or did anything inappropriate. If he ever touched an actress, it was always in a fatherly or affectionate way. But the attitude of younger directors is very different,” she added.

Narrating the encounter in detail, Sarah shared, “While we were having dinner, the director touched me from under the table. I was shocked, so I got up and sat on the other side. But the table was very small, and he touched me again. That’s when I knew it wasn’t a mistake.”

Though she initially remained silent, the director again crossed boundaries on set the following day. “He kept touching the actors under the pretext of giving directions. Then he touched me again, this time, inappropriately.”

Sarah said, “When he touched my back, I lost it. I slapped him in front of everyone and told him, ‘I can’t work with a vile person like you anymore.’”

Although Sarah openly discussed the incident, she chose not to name the director or specify the drama being filmed at the time.

  • Pakistan likely to face exclusion from Hockey Asia Cup 2025 in India

Pakistan likely to face exclusion from Hockey Asia Cup 2025 in India

India is reportedly preparing to exclude Pakistan from the upcoming Men’s Hockey Asia Cup 2025, scheduled to be held in Rajgir, India, during August and September this year. The tournament also serves as a key qualifier for the 2026 Hockey World Cup.

According to media reports, diplomatic tensions between India and Pakistan have increased following the Pahalgam incident. As a result, India had previously refused to issue visas to the Pakistani hockey team and is now expected to prevent their participation in the tournament altogether.

While the Asian Hockey Federation has not yet issued an official statement on the matter, Indian authorities are said to be firm in their stance against allowing Pakistan’s presence in the tournament.

On the other hand, the Pakistan Hockey Federation has not commented on the situation so far. There has also been no official announcement from the Indian government specifically regarding Pakistan’s participation.

Pakistan has a proud history in the Men’s Hockey Asia Cup, having won the title three times. The national team has participated in 11 out of 12 editions of the tournament, more than any other team, making the possible exclusion both politically and sportingly significant.

  • After Pakistan, China steps up to thrash India with new names for places in Arunachal Pradesh

After Pakistan, China steps up to thrash India with new names for places in Arunachal Pradesh

China has reiterated its claim over Zangnan – referred to as Arunachal Pradesh by India – by renaming several locations in the region to assert its territorial stance.

According to reports, this step is part of its internal administrative work and reflects its sovereign rights over the area.

The Chinese Ministry of Civil Affairs recently released a list of new names for 27 locations in Zangnan. These include 15 mountains, five villages, four mountain passes, two rivers, and one lake. Each place has been given names in Chinese, Tibetan, and pinyin (the Romanised spelling of Chinese), along with detailed maps and coordinates.

China has carried out similar naming exercises in the past. Since 2017, it has renamed a total of 89 locations in Arunachal Pradesh. The most recent batch before this one was in April 2024, when 30 places were renamed.

Chinese officials say this process is completely legal and reflects their historical and administrative connection to the region, which they consider part of Tibet.

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that these names are based on China’s historical records and maps. It claims the region was part of Tibet before the Shimla Convention of 1914, an agreement involving China, Tibet, and Britain during a time of global power struggles.

India has rejected the latest move, reiterating its position that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India. Indian authorities have described the Chinese renaming exercises as meaningless and politically motivated.

Despite recent efforts to ease border tensions, especially after deadly clashes in 2020, the issue of Zangnan continues to strain ties between the two countries. The two sides did agree in October to reduce military presence in other border areas, but the situation in this region remains sensitive.

China maintains that assigning Chinese names to places in Zangnan is a matter of sovereignty, not provocation. By continuing this process, China is making it clear that it stands firm on its claims.

  • Here’s how much Pakistan will earn despite finishing at bottom of ICC Test table

Here’s how much Pakistan will earn despite finishing at bottom of ICC Test table

Pakistan may have finished at the bottom of the International Cricket Council (ICC) World Test Championship (WTC) 2023–25 rankings, but it will still receive a share of the tournament’s prize money.

Despite a poor run of performances, the Pakistan team will receive USD 480,000 as part of the WTC’s record prize pool of $5.76 million. This is the highest prize money ever announced in the history of the tournament. The final of the third WTC cycle will take place between South Africa and Australia at Lord’s Cricket Ground from June 11 to 15, 2025.

While Pakistan ended up ninth on the table and received the smallest share, the amount is still a satisfactory financial reward in what was otherwise a disappointing campaign.

ICC World Test Championship Prize Money Breakdown:

    1st: Australia or South Africa – $3,600,000
    2nd: Australia or South Africa – $2,160,000
    3rd: India – $1,440,000
    4th: New Zealand – $1,200,000
    5th: England – $960,000
    6th: Sri Lanka – $840,000
    7th: Bangladesh – $720,000
    8th: West Indies – $600,000
    9th: Pakistan – $480,000

This year’s prize pool is more than double that of previous editions. In 2021 and 2023, WTC winners earned only $1.6 million. In contrast, the 2025 champions will walk away with $3.6 million, while the runners-up will take home $2.16 million.

This increase in prize money is part of the ICC’s plan to boost the importance of Test cricket, especially at a time when limited-overs formats are receiving more attention and financial backing.

  • PAF heartthrob Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed’s age revealed

PAF heartthrob Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed’s age revealed

As social media continues to flood with posts by Pakistanis crushing over Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Aurangzeb Ahmed, senior journalist and analyst Mansoor Ali Khan has revealed the age of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) heartthrob, going on to pass comments that have not sat well with netizens, especially women.

On Wednesday, Khan, in a video posted on his YouTube channel, quoted sources to reveal the age of AVM Aurangzeb, who had taken the internet by storm for his personality and wit since appearing in two pressers alongside Inter-Services Pubic Relations (ISPR) Director General (DG) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry during the clashes with India.

Without naming his source, Khan said he had asked them about AVM Aurangzeb’s age, and learnt that the PAF officer was 53 or 54 years old.

This, however, wasn’t all, as the journalist then went on to call out his admirers, especially women, who had been crushing over Aurangzeb since his public appearances. “Control your feelings and eyes, and move forward,” Khan said, revealing that the AVM was married.

“To those of you for whom he is your father’s age… you should be ashamed. And to those who are married… you should also have some shame,” he added.

Khan further revealed that he was trying to secure an interview or podcast with AVM Aurangzeb but the latter rarely appeared on TV. “He only shows up during press conferences. But still, I will try to invite him for a podcast or interview.”

The comments, however, did not sit well with a number of social media users as they argued:
