Gandapur urges party leader to avoid criticism that hurts jailed Imran Khan

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has urged members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to avoid making any statements that could potentially harm jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Speaking at an event organised by the Lahore High Court (LHC) Bar today (Thursday), Gandapur delivered a fiery speech, saying, “I want to say one thing to PTI: do not level any criticism that harms your cause or your leader.”

Advising his party members to unite and confront their opponents, he said, “As we say in Pashto: either I’ll break my head or I’ll break the mountain. We are nearing victory. Imran Khan will be among us very soon. Imran Khan is the voice of the nation. Nobody dares to suppress his voice.”

The CM, while alleging that last year’s election was rigged, said, “The rigging in the 2024 elections is proof that they [the establishment] don’t want elected representatives; they want selected ones.”

Gandapur emphasised, “We have ended corruption in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and collected the money,” claiming, “KP is the richest province of Pakistan today.”

He added that Imran Khan is willing to negotiate—not for himself, but for the sake of Pakistan—and questioned how long the former prime minister would remain imprisoned. “He wants the rule of law in the country,” Gandapur stated.

His remarks came a week after senior PTI leader Azam Khan Swati claimed that the party founder, Imran Khan, had agreed to hold negotiations.

Speaking to reporters outside an anti-terrorism court in Lahore, Swati said that Khan is deeply concerned about the country’s future and the well-being of future generations.

“The entire nation now stands with the PTI founder,” he stated, adding that any dialogue that takes place would be productive once it begins.

However, following Swati’s statement regarding negotiations, PTI distanced itself, with the party’s Secretary General, Salman Akram Raja, stating that such actions are not sanctioned by the party leadership.

“The claims of a deal between Azam Swati and the establishment have no connection with PTI. He is speaking in his personal capacity,” said Raja.

Here’s what Shadab Khan prayed for Babar Azam at the Kaaba

A lighthearted moment between Pakistani cricketers Shadab Khan and Babar Azam has gone viral on social media, offering fans a glimpse into the camaraderie shared by the national team players.

In a widely circulated video, Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan was seen chatting and joking with teammate Naseem Shah, Peshawar Zalmi’s Babar Azam and former legendary leg-spinner Mushtaq Ahmed.

While talking to Ahmed, Shadab revealed the first prayer he made after seeing the Holy Kaaba. “They say the first prayer you make after seeing the Kaaba is accepted… so I prayed for his [pointing at Babar Azam] marriage,” he said.

At this, Babar responded with a laugh and said, “Haye yaar, no!” Shadab continued jokingly, “It’s time for both Babar and Saim [Ayub] now. That’s enough waiting.”

Mushtaq Ahmed then asked with a smile, “And what about Naseem Shah?”

To this, Shadab replied, “No, let him enjoy for now.”

Babar, playfully concerned, added, “Why? His leg isn’t working, and neither is his shoulder.” Shadab quipped in response, teasing Naseem, “Neither the shoulder is working nor is his bowling.”

The clip was reportedly recorded during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 match between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi, where United secured a dominant 102-run victory.

Digital creator and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia finally opened up about the India’s Got Latent controversy during a recent ‘Ask Me Anything’ session on his Instagram.

While answering fan questions, he shared his thoughts on the backlash he faced and showed strong support for his fellow creators.

When a fan asked if he was still in touch with comedian Samay Raina, who was also a guest on the controversial episode, Ranveer responded with a short but powerful line: “Samay will be back.” The comment has now sparked excitement among fans, who believe this could mean Samay is all set for a grand return.

Ranveer also praised Ashish Chanchlani and Apoorva Mukhija, popularly known as The Rebel Kid, who were also part of the episode.

In his response, Ranveer said, “All of us have gotten closer after the events. Stand by each other in good times as well as in bad times. My brother is already a media legend. • Hackers leak Russian data, Trump’s files

Hackers leak Russian data, Trump’s files

The hacking group Anonymous has claimed responsibility for a major cyberattack targeting Russian networks. According to the group, it has released 10 terabytes of data, including sensitive information on Russian political figures, state-run companies, Kremlin-linked assets abroad, and even files allegedly connected to former US President Donald Trump.

The data was made public on April 15 and announced through Anonymous’ official account on X (formerly Twitter). In the post, the group wrote, “In defence of Ukraine, Anonymous has released 10TB of leaked data on all businesses operating in Russia, all Kremlin assets in the West, pro-Russian officials, Donald Trump, and more.”

A photo shared with the post showed several file folders, one labelled “Leaked Data of Donald Trump”, which quickly caught netizens’ attention.

Although the group did not reveal detailed contents of the data, the mention of Trump has sparked interest, especially with ongoing criticism of his foreign policy stance and alleged support for Russia.

Anonymous is a global hacking collective with no official leadership. It’s known for “hacktivism”—using cyberattacks to fight against corruption, oppression, and injustice. The group first declared a cyberwar on Russia in 2022 after the invasion of Ukraine.

Cybersecurity experts say this is one of Anonymous’ largest leaks in recent years. Though the full impact is still unknown, the 10-terabyte size suggests a serious security breach. The data reportedly includes links between Russian companies and their foreign connections, financial transactions, and names of pro-Kremlin officials with assets in the West.

The Russian government has not made any official comments yet, but experts believe internal investigations are likely happening behind the scenes.

The leak also comes at a time when Trump’s international dealings are being closely watched. Anonymous has recently accused Trump of working against Ukraine and supporting Russian interests. In one post, the group stated, “Trump is on Russia’s side. His actions do not support Ukraine, Europe, or even US security. His goal is to weaken and destroy global democracy.”

As of now, Anonymous has not made any new threats or announced more data leaks. However, the group remains active online, regularly posting about the Ukraine war and global politics involving Russia and the West.

  • Here’s what Chahat Fateh Ali Khan charged Adnan Siddiqui for a birthday wish

Here’s what Chahat Fateh Ali Khan charged Adnan Siddiqui for a birthday wish

Chahat Fateh Ali Khan has once again grabbed netizens’ attention, this time not with a song, but by revealing what he charged actor Adnan Siddiqui for a birthday wish.

In a recent video, Chahat claimed that he charged Siddiqui a whopping £250 (approximately Rs92,500) for a personalised birthday greeting.

The revelation quickly sparked mixed reactions. While some supported the entertainer with best wishes, others couldn’t hold back poking fun at him. “How much would you charge to disappear from the internet?” asked one user

The reactions also prompted Chahat to defend his fee “I now charge £100 just for a birthday wish. This is my income. When I go to shows or join families for events, I charge for that too.”

He also explained that his birthday wishes weren’t ordinary. “I prepare a 1 to 5-minute-long video with compliments and even a song.”

According to Chahat, many Pakistani artists also reach out to him for personalised ads for their dramas and other promotions. “I’m available. May Allah keep them all happy,” he added.

  • ‘Unwilling to change his role’: Here’s why Karachi Kings ditched Babar Azam

‘Unwilling to change his role’: Here’s why Karachi Kings ditched Babar Azam

Karachi Kings owner Salman Iqbal has finally opened up about the franchise’s decision to release star batter Babar Azam ahead of the Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) 2023 season.

In a recent interview, Salman revealed that the decision was taken due to a disagreement over Babar’s preferred batting position. “We wanted him to bat at number three, but he was unwilling to change his role. That’s why we were left with no option but to let him go,” he said.

The 30-year-old batter has consistently preferred opening the innings throughout his T20 career — both at the international level and in franchise cricket. He has played the anchor role at the top, setting the momentum for his team. In 90 PSL innings, Babar opened in 76 matches, scoring 3,103 runs at an impressive average of 47.01 and a strike rate of 129.13. His record includes 28 half-centuries and two centuries.

However, despite his strong record, the former national skipper has been under scrutiny due to the longstanding dip in form. Apart from unsatisfactory performance for the national side, Babar has in the ongoing PSL 10 season also struggled as an opener – being dismissed for a duck in the opening match against Quetta Gladiators and managing to score just one run in the following game against Islamabad United.

Since his brilliant 151-run knock against Nepal in August 2023, Babar has also failed to score a century in any format. During the tri-nation ODI series involving New Zealand and South Africa, he was partnered with Fakhar Zaman at the top but could only produce unimpressive scores of 10, 23 and 29 — failing to make an impact.

Despite his struggles, the team management continued to back him as an opener in the recently concluded ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025.  Babar, however, couldn’t deliver significant performances, scoring 64 against New Zealand and 23 against India during the group stage.

  • ‘I got a new life’: Viral video shows Islamabad cop ‘healing’ old man’s back pain

‘I got a new life’: Viral video shows Islamabad cop ‘healing’ old man’s back pain

An undated video of an Islamabad police official ‘healing’ the back pain of an old man has gone viral on social media.

“Baba jee kiya takleef hai [What’s troubling you, Baba Jee?]”, the cop can be heard as asking the old man in the video, in response to which he complains of backache.

Another man, who was recording the conversation, asked the old man to walk. Taking away the old man’s walking stick, the police official gently rubbed the old man’s back. Moments later, the cop straightens him up and says, “Mashallah, you’re fine now. Go ahead and try walking.”

On being asked how he felt, the old man said, “I got a new life.”

However, the cop did not stop there and asked the old man to take some steps back and run forward. The cop said, “Ab daur kay ana hai ap nay [Now you have to come running],” which too the man appeared able to do.

With the video going viral, netizens were quick to react to it. One social media user took to X (formerly Twitter), and wrote, “Start from Islamabad and implement this model across the entire country — let’s get rid of beggars once and for all.”

“The Islamabad police instantly cured a paralyzed man […],” wrote a second user while another wrote, “Islamabad police officer cured a patient with back and joint pain… just one push, and boom — healed!”

While some called it a “publicity stunt” like that by “televangelists”, other criticised the police official’s action, calling it “disrespectful” towards citizens.

“You can’t do that. This is wrong, you are not a doctor. So sad,” wrote a user.
