  • ‘Imran Khan clarified he did not call Asad Qaiser a conspirator,’ claims PTI leader

‘Imran Khan clarified he did not call Asad Qaiser a conspirator,’ claims PTI leader

A Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader, after meeting party founder Imran Khan in Adiala Jail, has said that Imran Khan clarified that he did not call former Speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser, former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) minister Muhammad Atif Khan, or lawmaker Shahram Khan Tarakai ‘conspirators’, a leading Urdu daily newspaper reported today (Thursday).

While urging party leaders to stop blaming each other, Imran Khan warned that further controversial statements would result in disciplinary action, said the party leader.

The clarification comes days after Chief Minister (CM) KP Ali Amin Gandapur’s recent statement sparked controversy among PTI leaders.

During a podcast with journalist Irshad Bhatti on Friday, Gandapur, while responding to a question about not awarding provincial assembly tickets to Qaiser, Atif Khan and Tarakai, had remarked, “Khan Sahab instructed us to not award MPA tickets to Atif, Shahram and Asad Qaiser. I had received an indirect message that they are conspirators.”

Gandapur said that as he was informed that the three conspired, he was instructed not to let them enter KP’s assembly.

Following the remarks, Qaiser took no time to express disappointment over Gandapur’s statement and asked the party to investigate the charges.

The former speaker of the national assembly wrote, “I demand from the party’s central leadership that a thorough investigation be conducted into the recent statement of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and that Chairman Imran Khan’s position in this regard be brought before the nation,” adding that he reserves the right to respond to Gandapur’s statement; however, in the current circumstances, he considers it necessary for the country and the founding Chairman of PTI Imran Khan to avoid such things.

“At this time, all our attention should be focused on the release of Imran Khan and other innocent prisoners. The struggle for Imran Khan’s release should not be weakened by inflaming internal party issues through unnecessary statements. The Chief Minister should focus all his energies on better governance, restoration of law and order in the province, and the struggle for the release of Imran Khan and other innocent prisoners,” he further wrote.

Tarakai, in a social media post, also demanded inquiry into the matter, claiming that he reserved the right to respond to the CM’s statement; however, he added that such a course of action would damage the party in the current situation.

“All efforts to weaken Khan Sahib and the party will fail. A leader keeps people together, does not divide them for personal ego or desire,” Tarakai said.

Babar Azam gets injured ahead of PSL

Peshawar Zalmi suffered a major setback ahead of the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as their captain, Babar Azam, sustained an injury during a practice session.

During a training session in Islamabad, the star batter was struck on the foot by a ball, causing him discomfort while walking. Babar was seen limping towards the dressing room, and the incident’s video has rapidly gone viral on social media.

As of now, Peshawar Zalmi’s management has not issued any official statement regarding Babar Azam’s injury. However, speculations are circulating on social media that the captain might miss the initial matches of PSL 2025.

Meanwhile, in a positive development for Pakistani cricket, opener Saim Ayub has recovered from the ankle injury that ruled him out of the Champions Trophy and the New Zealand tour. He has rejoined training and is preparing to make his return to competitive cricket.

  • ‘Digital Detonation’: Binance founder joins Pakistan Crypto Council

‘Digital Detonation’: Binance founder joins Pakistan Crypto Council

In a historic move that could redefine the digital future of emerging economies, Pakistan has appointed Changpeng Zhao, widely known as CZ, the founder and former CEO of Binance, as the Strategic Advisor to the Pakistan Crypto Council.

This momentous step positions Pakistan as a first mover in the global race for digital value creation, akin to setting off a nuclear blast in the age of digital transformation — a bold detonation not of destruction, but of innovation, inclusion, and economic upliftment.

The announcement was made during CZ’s high-profile visit to Pakistan, hosted by Bilal Bin Saqib, CEO of the Pakistan Crypto Council. “In a world shifting from industrial might to digital value, Pakistan just pulled the trigger on a new era — and made CZ a key architect of that future,” said Bilal Bin Saqib.

While many nations are still debating the regulatory future of digital assets, Pakistan is forging ahead, leveraging its untapped energy reserves, vast youth population, and strategic geographic position to become the next global hub for crypto, blockchain, and tokenized innovation.

With CZ joining as strategic advisor, the Council gains more than global credibility — it gains the insight of the man who built the largest crypto exchange in the world. This alliance serves a dual purpose: it helps rehabilitate CZ’s global legacy post-Binance, and it positions Pakistan as his next frontier — a place where he can empower an entire nation and leave a lasting mark on digital finance.

This announcement is deeply symbolic. In 1998, it was India that took the lead in the regional nuclear race. But in 2025, Pakistan takes the lead in the digital race — and this time, it’s not about atomic might, but digital sovereignty, innovation, and global economic influence.

For CZ, this isn’t just about strategy — it’s about legacy. Pakistan offers a canvas to write a story no other Web3 visionary has dared to pursue: uplifting an entire emerging economy through the transformative power of crypto and blockchain.

In the writer’s opinion, “This is not just another appointment. This is Pakistan stepping into the future — with intention, with strategy, and with global firepower,”

Pakistan’s decision to bring CZ into its highest-level crypto advisory body marks a decisive pivot in its economic trajectory. In the post-industrial era, digital value is the new gold — and Pakistan just set off a chain reaction that the world can no longer ignore.

As the world watches this new chapter unfold, one thing is clear: the arms race of the 21st century will be fought not just with missiles and tanks, but with algorithms, blockchain nodes, and global influence — and Pakistan just launched the first strike.

  • Rizwan to ask for more authority as captain, resign otherwise: reports

Rizwan to ask for more authority as captain, resign otherwise: reports

Despite Pakistan’s poor performance against New Zealand in the ODI series, captain Mohammad Rizwan is set to meet Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to demand more authority, media reports have claimed.

According to reports, Rizwan and star batter Babar Azam will meet the PCB chairman in the coming days, and will also discuss their exclusion from the T20I series against New Zealand.

Reports further claimed that despite Pakistan’s poor performance, Rizwan wants to strengthen his position by gaining additional powers. If his request is denied, he might consider resigning from captaincy.

A senior PCB official, speaking anonymously to the media, revealed that Rizwan and Babar were disappointed by the selectors’ decision to drop them from the five-match T20I series in New Zealand. The duo will raise this matter with the PCB chairman, especially after the management and selection committee opted to test younger players under the leadership of new captain Agha Salman.

Reports also claimed that sources close to Rizwan had confirmed the development.

Following the series loss, Rizwan, during the post-match presentation, said, “I cannot comment on team changes, as it is not my job. Just like in the ODIs, I did not have full control over things. We were unaware of the decisions regarding the T20 team selection, but we accepted them.”

Additionally, reports claimed that Rizwan had a disagreement with head coach Aaqib Javed over team selection for the first two ODIs. Rizwan preferred playing four frontline bowlers while completing the remaining ten overs with part-time bowlers Agha Salman and Irfan Khan.

However, Aaqib Javed wanted to field five regular bowlers. Rizwan’s decision backfired, as the part-timers conceded 118 runs in total, which proved costly for Pakistan.

Mehak Malik in hot water: 35 booked over vulgar dance at Mehndi

Police in Bahawalpur have filed a case against 35 people, including famous dancer Mehak Malik, after a controversial mehndi ceremony in Yazman Mandi. The event featured inappropriate dances, loud music, and money showers (wail) , causing a stir in the local community.

According to police reports, the ceremony violated the Loudspeakers and Sound Amplifiers Law, as the noise levels were too high. Additionally, participants threw cash at the dancers, which is seen as an inappropriate act linked to vulgar dances.

The First Information Report (FIR) names Mehak Malik, a popular dancer, and a local man named Zeeshan, also known as Shani, as the main suspects. The FIR lists 10 other named individuals, and 25 more are yet to be identified.

Sources say that some of the suspects include government employees, including a police constable. However, their names have not been revealed, and the police are continuing their investigation.

The case revolves around three main issues: the performance of inappropriate dances, the illegal use of loudspeakers, and the distribution of money during the ceremony.

Although no arrests have been made yet, the investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to identify the remaining suspects.

This incident has sparked a debate in Pakistan about cultural practices and the public behavior at private events, especially when it comes to dance performances. Legal proceedings for Mehak Malik and other suspects could have serious consequences for their careers and personal lives.

  • Massive boycott campaign hits PSL 2025

Massive boycott campaign hits PSL 2025

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is promising a “bigger and better” tournament than ever as the country gears up to host the tenth edition of the flagship Pakistan Super League (PSL) starting Friday. However, the celebrations and excitement have taken a hit amid calls for boycott over the league’s choice of sponsors.

With an electrifying opening ceremony planned for Apr 11 and top cricketers from around the world participating, fans had been unable to keep calm as they looked forward to all the cricketing action. But the hype hit a roadblock as netizens pointed out how the sponsors of PSL 10 included brands the general public has now been boycotting for over a year due to their alleged Israel connection.

The Israeli assault on Gaza began on October 7, 2023, and has since led to a devastating humanitarian crisis. According to latest reports, over 50,000 Palestinians have been killed, with tens of thousands injured. The attacks have destroyed hospitals, schools and homes, leaving over a million people displaced with little access to food, water or medical aid.

The start of the assault was followed by boycott campaigns against Western brands in many Muslim countries, spearheaded by the BDS Movement, a global, Palestinian-led campaign advocating for non-violent pressure on Israel to respect Palestinian rights under international law. The movement also calls for the boycott of certain companies and organisations that it says have invested in Israel or donate to its military and are directly profiting from its economy.

Amid all this, social media users have flooded the internet with posts urging people to take a stand against companies that, despite being on the boycott lists, have been selected to sponsor the country’s flagship cricketing league.

Here’s what they have to say:

One user expressed their disappointment, saying, “In Palestine, our brothers are dying, and we are busy celebrating PSL.”

“Boycott PSL until they remove sponsorship from Zionist brands. I request everyone not just to post about boycotting but to actually do it—don’t watch a single match until these sponsorships end,” wrote another.

While some netizens claim they are also boycotting due to Pakistan cricket’s recent blunders and lacklustre performance at the global stage, the PCB and sponsors are yet to respond to any of the concerns.

  • Marwat slams Salman Raja for using ‘Manzoor-e-Nazar’ for PTI leaders

Marwat slams Salman Raja for using ‘Manzoor-e-Nazar’ for PTI leaders

Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member Sher Afzal Marwat on Wednesday slammed the party’s Secretary General Salman Akram Raja for using the term Manzoor-e-Nazar (favourite) for party chairman Barrister Gohar Khan and Senator Ali Zafar.

Speaking to reporters in Islamabad, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) firebrand sternly said that accusing Gohar and Ali Zafar of being Manzoor-e-Nazar is “not a joke,” adding that Raja will have to clarify his statement.

On Wednesday, PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja, while talking to journalists at the Islamabad High Court (IHC), said that on Tuesday, the list of six lawyers’ names he gave were not allowed to visit Adiala Jail as only Manzoor-e-Nazar were allowed to meet the party founder.

On Tuesday, Barrister Gohar, Barrister Ali Zafar, Zaheer Abbas, and other lawyers were allowed to enter the jail, media reports had earlier claimed.

Raja made it clear that in the future, anyone whose name was not on the list should not meet Imran Khan in the jail.

Launching a tirade against TV anchors for calling him “Hawk,” Raja lamented, “I am wondering about hearing from Manzoor-e-Nazar anchors that they are calling me a hawk. They [anchors] say in every programme that Salman Raja is against reconciliation in the country.”

The PTI chairman was seen nodding during Raja’s charged media talk.

Meanwhile, voicing concerns regarding the usage of the term Manzoor-e-Nazar, Gohar told journalists at the Parliament House on Wednesday, “I express serious reservations about the word manzoor-e-nazar, but I want to unite the party even if I have to leave the position.”

“If anyone holds a meeting with Imran Khan without his (Salman Akram Raja’s) permission, would he be considered an establishment man?” questioned Marwat.

Declaring Manzoor-e-Nazar’s term “disrespect” towards party leaders, Marwat said that he wondered why the chairman of PTI did not interrupt Raja during the media talk.

On being asked to comment on Raja’s statement that an action would be taken against those who met Imran Khan in jail while leaving Imran Khan’s sister behind, Marwat humorously said, “Given the consistency with which Salman Akram Raja is taking action, I can foresee that he might soon take action against Imran Khan as well.”

Speaking to journalists outside the IHC, Senator Zafar expressed regret over the PTI Secretary General’s “allegations”, saying that Raja’s remarks about the meeting with the party’s founder had sparked a new controversy.

He maintained that Imran Khan had ordered him to move the Supreme Court on the matter of permission to hold the meeting, adding that everyone has the right to meet Imran Khan.
