  • Men can’t handle one wife, how will they keep more women happy: Saman Ansari

Men can’t handle one wife, how will they keep more women happy: Saman Ansari

Actress and TV host Saman Ansari has shared her views on men marrying multiple times, questioning how a man who struggles with one wife can manage more.

Saman Ansari recently appeared on the FHM podcast, where she spoke about her personal experience with marriage and discussed the complexities of men marrying multiple times.

During the conversation, she revealed, “My first marriage lasted for 16 years, and shortly after the divorce, my ex-husband got married again.”

She explained that, as a mother who was also focused on building her career, she did not remarry immediately after the divorce but eventually did so later.

Reflecting on her ex-husband’s quick remarriage, she remarked, “If he now thinks he already had an affair with that woman, it would be wrong. It is not my concern—he should know and understand his own actions.”

When asked about second marriages, Saman Ansari emphasized that clarity is key, stating, “If a man indicates at the time of his first marriage that he might marry again, then there will be no problem.”

She further added, “Many women accept a man’s multiple marriages, so he should state in the marriage certificate from the beginning that he may marry again.”

However, she stressed the importance of mutual understanding between spouses, saying, “The issue of a second marriage is a personal matter between a man and his first wife. They should resolve it with understanding.”

Regarding religious and ethical obligations, she noted, “A man should take permission from his first wife before marrying again. As far as I know, religion also emphasizes that a man must seek his first wife’s consent before a second marriage.”

Summing up her stance, she questioned the practicality of multiple marriages, asserting, “Men can’t handle one wife, so how can they keep more than one woman happy?”

She concluded by stressing that even if a man remarries, “It is his duty to provide equal rights and happiness to all women.”

Spain’s 2030 World Cup chief resigns over stadium fixing scandal

Maria Tato, the head of Spain’s 2030 World Cup organising committee, has resigned after being accused of unfairly changing the stadium selection process to benefit one city over another, according to media reports.

Reports claimed that the rankings for potential host stadiums were altered to favour Anoeta in San Sebastian, while Balaídos in Vigo was unfairly removed from the list.

Vigo’s mayor, Abel Caballero, expressed his frustration on social media platform X, saying: “On June 25, 2024, Balaidos was on the list of 11 stadiums in Spain, but by June 27, it was removed. This is very serious. We demand an explanation on who changed it, why, and based on what criteria.”

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has not responded to media inquiries regarding the issue.

Spain is set to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup alongside Portugal and Morocco. Spain will have 11 host cities, including major venues like Barcelona’s Camp Nou and Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu, while Portugal will have three stadiums and Morocco six.

The RFEF has faced several scandals in recent years. Former president Luis Rubiales resigned in September 2023 after controversially kissing player Jenni Hermoso during Spain’s Women’s World Cup victory celebrations.

His successor, Pedro Rocha, was later suspended for exceeding his authority, and Rafael Louzán took over leadership in December 2024.

VIDEO: Indian wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan trolls Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan

Pakistan’s ODI captain Mohammad Rizwan has now become a target of trolling by emerging Indian wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan.

During a conversation with IPL umpire Anil Chaudhary, Kishan took a subtle dig at Rizwan while discussing umpiring standards and players’ approach to making appeals.

During a franchise practice session, umpire Anil Chaudhary jokingly remarked, “You’ve become quite smart! You’ve played many matches under my umpiring. Now, you only appeal when necessary, but earlier, you used to appeal a lot. What changed?”

Ishan Kishan responded,  “I think umpires have become sharper now. If you appeal too often, they might not give out even when it’s a genuine dismissal. It’s better to appeal at the right time so that they trust your judgment.”

He further added, “If I start appealing behind the stumps like Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan, you guys wouldn’t give it out.”

Kishan also commented, “To be honest, there are some umpires we feel happy to see in matches, but there’s always room for improvement.”

His remarks came at a time when Rizwan was under criticism for excessive appealing during recent matches.

Meanwhile, fans took to social media to criticise Ishan Kishan, arguing that he hasn’t been in cricket long enough to comment on a senior player like Rizwan.

Australian women’s cricket team captain Alyssa Healy has joined the growing list of admirers of a six-year-old Pakistani girl whose impressive batting skills have gone viral on social media.

Jokingly, Healy added, “I feel like she was hitting the ball even better than me!”

The viral video highlights the increasing interest of young girls in sports, particularly cricket. Healy was especially impressed by the child’s technique. “Her shots were executed beautifully. Her cover drive was a treat to watch, and the pull shot she played was strikingly similar to Rohit Sharma’s pull shot,” she remarked.

“She looks like a special talent. This girl should definitely play for Pakistan,” Healy said, adding in jest, “I think she should be in the T20 World Cup squad!”

New Zealand captain ruled out of ODI series against Pakistan

New Zealand captain Tom Latham has been ruled out of the upcoming three-match ODI series against Pakistan after suffering a hand fracture during net practice.

According to New Zealand Cricket, Latham was hit on his right hand while batting in the nets, resulting in a fracture that has sidelined him from the series. Henry Nicholls has been added to the squad as a replacement. Meanwhile, Michael Bracewell, who led the team in the T20I series, will continue as captain for the ODIs.

New Zealand Cricket also confirmed that Tom Blundell will take over wicketkeeping duties in the ODI series.

Additionally, Will Young will only be available for the first ODI, as he will be leaving the squad for the birth of his child. In his absence, Rhys Mariu has been included in the team for the remaining matches.

The three-match ODI series between Pakistan and New Zealand is set to begin on March 29, with the remaining two matches scheduled for April 2 and April 5. The first ODI will be played in Napier.

New Zealand recently won the five-match T20I series against Pakistan by a convincing 4-1 margin.

  • Canada says fearing potential Pakistani, Chinese, others’ interference in upcoming elections

Canada says fearing potential Pakistani, Chinese, others’ interference in upcoming elections

Canadian intelligence has warned that Pakistan, Russia, China and India could “potentially attempt to interfere” in the country’s upcoming general election on April 28.

As per the details, reports quoted Deputy Director of Operations at Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) Vanessa Lloyd as saying that China was “highly likely to use AI-enabled tools to attempt to interfere with Canada’s democratic process”.

Regarding India, she said that the country had the “intent and capability” to do it as well whereas Russia and Pakistan could also seek to interfere.

Lloyd maintained that these nations were increasingly using AI to interfere in elections around the globe. “It’s often very difficult to establish a direct link between foreign interference activities and election results… nevertheless, threat activities can erode public trust in the integrity of Canada’s democratic processes and institutions.”

The statement comes amid dwindling ties between Ottawa and both New Delhi and Beijing.

While there is no clarity over hints mentioning Pakistan and Russia, earlier this month, Beijing announced tariffs on more than $2.6 billion worth of Canadian agricultural and food products, retaliating against levies slapped on Chinese products last year.

War of words over Indian intelligence’s alleged activities in Canada besides the killings of Canadian nationals allegedly by New Delhi has also repeatedly made headlines over the past several months.

After multiple summons, Raina finally appeared before Maharashtra Cyber Police in Mumbai to record his statement. He confessed, “I realize that what I said was wrong. • Bill in US Congress seeks sanctions on Pakistan army chief, others over ‘rights situation’

Bill in US Congress seeks sanctions on Pakistan army chief, others over ‘rights situation’

Republican Congressman Joe Wilson and Democrat Jimmy Panetta on Monday have introduced a bipartisan bill in the US House of Representatives, seeking to sanction Pakistani state functionaries over alleged human rights violations and persecution of former premier Imran Khan.

The proposed legislation in the bill, titled the ‘Pakistan Democracy Act’ calls for sanctions on Pakistan’s army chief within 180 days under the Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act. Violators of this act can be subjected to denial of entry to the United States (US) and ineligibility for U.S. visas.

The draft bill further calls on the US administration to identify key figures involved in the alleged suppression of political opposition in Pakistan and add them to a sanctions list. Additionally, it grants the US president the authority to lift these sanctions if Pakistan ceases military interference in governance and frees all “wrongfully detained political prisoners.”

On Monday, Wilson took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce the “Pakistan Democracy Act,” introduced in the House of Representatives, writing, “I am grateful to introduce the PAKISTAN DEMOCRACY ACT to sanction those undermining democracy in Pakistan!”

In June 2024, a resolution with overwhelming bipartisan support, with 98 percent votes in favour, was passed in the House of Representatives. That resolution called on then-Democratic US President Joe Biden to press Pakistan to uphold democracy and the rule of law. However, the Biden administration has not taken any action in response.

While acknowledging concern over the bill, Pakistani diplomats remained hopeful that the bill would not gain enough traction to be implemented, a leading newspaper has reported. Diplomats pointed out that the U.S. still considers Pakistan an important security partner, citing Islamabad’s cooperation in the recent arrest and deportation of an Islamic State Khorasan (IS-K) terrorist, Mohammad Sharifullah.

In a historic joint speech to Congress earlier this month, U.S. President Donald Trump thanked the Pakistani government for assisting in the apprehension of the mastermind behind the deadly 2021 Kabul airport Abbey Gate attack.

In February, Wilson and Congressman August Pfluger had written a letter to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, calling for the release of Imran Khan.

The letter read, “You (Marco Rubio) recall that Imran Khan was Prime Minister in your first term, and you both shared a strong relationship. He is widely beloved in Pakistan, and his release would usher in a new era of U.S.-Pakistan relations with freedom value at its core”.

Drawing a parallel between Imran Khan and U.S. President Donald J. Trump as victims of “judicial abuse,” the letter stated that Imran Khan was imprisoned on trumped-up charges.
