The police have not confirmed the victim’s identity. However, reports from the local press suggest that it was Salwan Momika, who was said to have been live streaming on social media during the time of the shooting. Salwan Momika is an Iraqi national residing in Sweden. He came to international headlines for setting alight several copies of the Quran. 

He was killed on Monday night in his apartment in Södertälje, Stockholm, and the report from the AFP and the BBC confirmed his information. The police in Stockholm have confirmed a shooting that left a man in his 40s dead. Five arrests have been made for this crime.

Salwan Momika was charged with “agitation against an ethnic group” about the desecration of the holy Quran several times. The verdict was set for Thursday but has been further postponed to February 3 due to Momika’s death.

These incidents have damaged Sweden’s relations with several Middle Eastern nations because of Salwan Momika’s actions and the harsh responses that followed.

Two protests broke out in 2023, during which the Swedish ambassador was expelled from Baghdad and the Swedish embassy was stormed.

The Swedish government has defended Salwan Momika’s right to burn the Quran under regulations of free speech in the country but has vowed to review laws regulating such protests.

QPR are reportedly finalizing their deal to sign Chelsea’s Harvey Vale.  Rangers were looking to acquire Vale in tandem with Ronnie Edwards, as reported by West London Sport. This was available to the public on the eve of the transfer.  

Championship teams have reportedly shown interest in Edwards in addition to Harvey Vale. 

The 21-year-old Vale is currently headed for Loftus Road. When he signed with Chelsea nine years ago, Harvey Vale was coming over Fulham’s books. 

Rangers have had problems with their left-back positions. However, Harvey Vale is the perfect candidate for left-back or even midfielder, considering he can play anywhere on the left. 

Vale has made six appearances for the first team thus far. He was previously loaned to Hull and is currently with Bristol Rovers. 

He hopes to part ways with the Blues before the transfer period closes, and reports suggest that he will leave after the season when his contract expires.

The NHTSA announced that the recall affects selected vehicles manufactured between 2022 and 2025 for Acura MDX Type-S, 2023 and 2025 for Honda Pilot, and 2021 and 2025 for Acura TLX Type-S. Some issues that may arise from improperly programmed FI-ECUs include unexpected changes in acceleration response that could activate the check engine light. It could then result in a power loss in the engine, disabling, or stalling, which can all increase the chances of an accident.

“The engine power could get lost, stall, or hesitate during sudden changes in throttle, and these risks could turn the check engine light on,” stated American Honda Motor Co. The company plans to mail all registered owners of these vehicles in question in March 2025 to seek the necessary treatment from the great Honda or Acura dealerships. We will upgrade the software free of charge.

According to American Honda, no verified reports of collisions or injuries have been connected to this problem yet. The company actively reviewed the telematics information, guiding the decision to perform this recall. Vehicle owners can choose whether or not their cars are part of the recall by visiting the official websites or calling customer service.

In a statement posted on the homepage, the church mentioned Calvin Robinson’s action and said that his ACC membership had been cancelled. The Church explains, “Even though we can’t read Robinson’s mind when he was doing this, we can deduce that his action was an effort to get sympathy from the right side of American politics by garnering the opposite reaction.” He was warned that specific actions are inappropriate for priests and asked to stop.

Their remarks continue, “There is no doubt that he has not, and as a result, his license in the Church has been rescinded. He has ceased to function as a priest in the ACC.” 

Same as how Musk Elon was criticised for his gesture. Calvin Robinson did the same and even was put on the same level of comparison as the Nazis because of the video that was shared on X. Robinson did tweet the video on Wednesday, claiming that he got hit with hundreds of texts, voicemails, emails, and phone calls that were disgusting from leftist people who seemed very angry.

“He is often an example of everything he claims you to be,” Calvin Robinson wrote. “I am not a Nazi. But you have my forgiveness for your ignorance.”

Calvin Robinson then released a lengthy explanation on Wednesday night about his post o X regarding his joke “mocking the hysterical supplement fans calling Elon Musk a Nazi for quite obviously showing the audience which side of history he was on.”

Gov. Tim Walz spoke at a press conference this Tuesday afternoon on Trump’s freeze of federal funding. He labeled it as “unforeseen” and “illegal.” 

The budget office at the White House issued a memo at 4 PM on Tuesday that put forth a freeze on federal aid that would include assistance to nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, state and local governments’ grants, and loans to small businesses. According to the New York Times, the White House commented that over 3 trillion dollars were spent on federal aid programs in 2024. Therefore, a freeze at this level will surely have dire consequences.

“He got the whole country into a crisis all the while he was off to play golf. This is not a sign of leadership. To put it mildly, it is startling. It’s foolish and childish,” stated Tim Walz at a conference held at St. Paul YMCA on Tuesday.

The Minnesota governor’s office pointed out that if the spending freeze stays in place, an amount of around $1.8 billion will be at risk. The Commissioner for Minnesota Management Budget stated that the freeze has affected thousands of state employees and created noticeable uncertainty regarding the state of about 1,000 programs.

According to Campbell, Medicaid accounts for the largest portion of the $1.8 billion monthly, with the remaining $850 million going to programs like SNAP, MinnesotaCare, state highways, local airports, Section 8 housing, school meals and special education, heating assistance, and county family services for child support. She stated that the state of Minnesota has a “very limited” capacity to fill the void that the freeze would create.

A journalist named Rana Ayyub is in legal trouble for allegedly insulting Hindu gods and trilaterally promoting anti-India propaganda, which was reported by Live Law. A court in Delhi has ordered an FIR, following a complaint against Ayyub’s posts on social media.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Himanshu Raman Singh passed the order after lawyer Amita Sachdeva complained about the activities of Rana Ayyub on the social media platform. She claimed that it was aggrieving Hindu beliefs and creating anti-India hatred. 

“In light of the facts and circumstances, the complaint portends the commission of cognizable offenses for which FIR is necessary. The current SHO Cyber Police Station is hereby ordered to change the details of the complaint into FIR and ensure that the matter is properly investigated,” the court said.

The court determined that some of Rana Ayyub’s tweets contained supportive remarks for Shehla Rashid and others, as well as attempts to disparage Indian culture. It seemed to warrant a full police investigation. This constitutes the offenses under sections 153A (promoting animosity between the groups), 295A (intentionally hurting religious feelings), and 505 (public mischief) of the IPC.

“The facts pleaded by the complainant are such that they require the intervention of state machinery in the form of a police investigation,” the court noted.

At first, Sachdeva went to the Cyber Cell of Delhi Police with a complaint of IPC Section 66A of the Information Technology Act alleging that Ayyub’s tweets are planned to “regularly ridicule, insult Hindus, speak badly about India, and promote riots between religions.”

Sachdeva said that after the police failed to initiate an investigation, she went to the magistrate’s court.

Rana Ayyub’s posts revealed “an agenda to insult Hindu beliefs and create communal strife,” according to the complaint, which called for the state to step in.
