Player Unknown Battlegrounds (PUBG) mobile is all set to introduce a brand new roadmap for the PUBG mobile E-sports year 2024. PUBG mobile has introduce a new global event named Pubg Mobile Global Open (PMGO). The major changes in PUBG mobile E-sports year 2024 is the expansion of leagues in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), America, Central and South Asia.
James Yang, the senior director of PUBG Mobile Global E-sports revealed three Global leagues in year 2024; the PUBG Mobile Global Championship, PUBG Mobile World Invitational (PMWI) and the new event PMGO.
The PMGO will take place in Brazil in months of March and April in 2024 with prize-pool of 500,000 USD. This event includes teams from the host region qualifiers, regional PMSL qualifiers and PMSL partnership teams.
Another major change is the addition of PUBG Mobile Super League (PMSL) which will replaces the PUBG Mobile Pro League (PMPL). The PMSL will bring the PUBG mobile competition to another level, and will have offline events for each PMSL league. The South East Asia (SEA) region will have three seasons of PMSL while EMEA, America, Central and South Asia (Now United) will also have two leagues seasons.
James Yang explained, why the SEA region will have one extra PMSL league than other regions. He said, “This is due to the developed E-sports system in these regions, and we would see that three seasons will have better because the audience wants to see more competition”.
Below the second tier there will be PMSL regional qualifiers to give a chance for Underdogs teams to compete against Professional players. The fourth tier will have smaller regional tournaments like PUBG Mobile Club Open (PMCO).
Year 2023 is ready to say goodbye now with good and bad memories. The past year has been a mixed year for the Pakistan cricket team. Star batsman Babar Azam lost the captaincy of the team after a disastrous World Cup campaign but his personal performance remained outstanding, with many world records falling in his lap, proof of his being one of the great cricketers of the present era.
The poor performance of the Pakistan cricket team in the recently held World Cup in India and earlier in the Asia Cup in Sri Lanka was blamed by many on Babar’s captaincy. He resigned from the three-format captaincy last month on his return home. After this, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) appointed Shan Masood as the Test captain and Shaheen Shah as the T20 captain.
In 2023, Babar Azam was the number one One-Day Internationals (ODI) batsman in the International Cricket Council (ICC) rankings for almost the entire year and after holding the crown of the number one batsman for more than 900 days, but unfortunately he lost this honor during the World Cup 2023.
Babar Azam’s abilities were recognized at the government level and for his superior performance, he was awarded the Star of Distinction by President Dr. Arif Alvi on the occasion of Pakistan Day.
He achieved two world records in a single match of the ODI series against New Zealand. In the second match of the five-match series against the Kiwis, Babar Azam became the fastest batsman to score 5000 runs and the fastest 18 centuries, equaling South African batsman Hashim Amla’s record. Babar reached the milestone in 97 innings while the former Proteas batsman took 102 innings.
The former captain also became the fastest batsman to score 9000 runs in T20 cricket, accomplishing the feat in 245 innings. This honor was previously held by West Indian batsman Chris Gayle who scored 9000 runs in 249 runs.
Babar Azam notched up another world record by scoring a magnificent century in the T20 International in New Zealand, playing his 101st match as captain, became the player with the most centuries in T20 as captain. He broke the record of Indian captain Rohit Sharma who was the first with two centuries. Babar Azam has achieved the honor of scoring three centuries as a captain in T20.
Azam was then awarded the Outstanding Performance Player of the Month award by the ICC in August. This was the third award overall after winning the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year and ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year last year.
Under the leadership of Babar Azam, Pakistan became the number one ODI team in the ICC rankings this year. Pakistan won the ODI series against New Zealand after 12 years. Pakistan whitewashed Sri Lanka in the Test series and Afghanistan in the ODI series. The Test and T20 series against New Zealand remained a draw, but the Pakistan team’s performance in the last two assignments in the Asia Cup 2024 and the World Cup was disappointing due to unavailability of Naseem Shah in bowling attack.
Babar Azam’s Overall Performance in International Cricket:
Babar Azam has scored a total of 12986 runs in all three formats (Test, ODI & T20) of international cricket so far, 3772 runs in 49 Test matches, including nine centuries and 26 fifties.
He has scored 5729 runs in 117 one-day matches, including 19 centuries and 32 fifties, while in 104 T20 matches, he has scored 3485 runs with the help of three centuries and 38 fifties.
IHC E-sports (formerly known as ZEUS E-Sports or Z3US E-Sports) from Mongolia won Player Unknown Battlegrounds (PUBG) Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2023 held in Malaysia.

Excellent performance of IHC, STE, and A7 makes them the top 3 in 2023 PMGC!
Two teams (Agonxi8 and 7E) from Pakistan also participated in the event but unfortunately, they were eliminated in the group stage.
Agonxi8, a very dominating team from Pakistan, faced many difficulties including visa problems during this event. Only three out of five players could get visas while the remaining two played from Pakistan.
Shan Masood, the top-order batsman from Multan Sultans has joined the Karachi Kings squad, and left-arm wrist spinner Faisal Akram is going to Multan Sultans as part of a trade deal between Kings and Sultans.
Karachi Kings owner Salman Iqbal said, “Shan Masood is welcome to Karachi Kings, Shan Masood is undoubtedly a great addition to the Kings squad. Karachi Kings will take full advantage of Shan Masood’s experience and skills in PSL 9”.
Multan Sultan’s Chief Executive Ali Khan Tareen said: “This has been one of the most exciting trade and retention windows in the history of the HBL Pakistan Super League and we are delighted with how our line-up is shaping. We had two agendas for this trade window: focus on building a strong domestic core and getting the best possible picks in the HBL PSL 9 Player Draft to get the best overseas players for our team combination”.
“I am over the moon to have finally gotten Faisal Akram in our team. We have been working with him since he was 16. He has been a regular at our academy and camps. He is an extraordinary talent and we are yet to see his best. Now he is part of our team for the next many years, our goal will be to develop him into a national asset” Ali Tareen said.
He further said “I want to thank Shan Masood who has been the longest-serving member of the Sultan’s family. He has been our captain and a huge part of our success. We will miss him and wish him the best in his new team”.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued NOC (No Objection Certificate) to fast bowlers Haris Rauf, Zaman Khan and spinner Usama Mir to play in the Big Bash League in Australia.
PCB has issued the NOCs keeping in mind the workload of the players and the future tour program of the Pakistan men’s team. The Board feels that this decision is in the best interest of all stakeholders, with a balance between game time and workload management being of utmost importance.
Haris Rauf and Usama Mir have been issued NOCs for five matches, while Zaman Khan’s NOC is valid for four matches. All these matches will be played between December 7 and December 28.
Cricket is the third most popular sport in the world with approximately 2.5 billion fans spread across the globe. The gentleman’s game, mocked at times for being slow, has morphed into a fast-paced, adrenalin- pumping speedy ride.
The first international match between two countries was played between United States of America (USA) and Canada in New York in 1844, but the fact that the International Cricket Council (ICC) did not exist in 1844, means this match wasn’t recognizes as an official game. The first official cricket match was played between Australia and England in Melbourne in 1877.
The first cricket World Cup was organized in 1975 in England, with the mighty West Indies walking away with the trophy.
How India destroying cricket for other countries?
India won just two matches in the 1975 and 1979 World Cup tournaments, the weakest team at that time. Wisden Sports magazine’s Chief Editor David Frith had infamously written in an article that a team like India should not play in the tournament if they have not improved and if a team like India wins, “I will eat my words.”
In the 1983 World Cup, India won four out of six matches in the group stage, cementing their place in the semi-finals where they defeated England by six wickets.
The final was played between India and West Indies, the hot favorite team after winning two World Cups in a row. All the odds were stacked against India, but the country created history on June 25, defeating West Indies at Lords, and lifting the Cup.
The historic win gave Narendra Kumar Prasadrao (NKP) Salve the confidence he needed to grab the mantle of the British’s own game from them. NKP Salve befriended Sri Lanka and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to form the Asian Cricket Committee, on which ICC had no control in 1984. They arranged a tournament between Asian teams, named Asia Cup. This was Salve’s way of telling Britishers that the southern countries could host tournaments too.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had no money to host a World Cup at first. Salve asked Pakistan to host the next world cup together. Then Salve contacted Dhirubhai Ambani with the help of Indira Gandhi. When the money was arranged, Mr. Salve put forth his proposal at the next ICC Meeting.
There was no rule before this that a new nation will host a World Cup. NKP Salve proposed a Rotational Policy. According to this policy “A new nation will host the World Cup after every four years.”
Australia and New Zealand agreed, . And when voting took place, India and Pakistan got the hosting of 1987 World Cup.
It was a success, but BCCI didn’t make any money 30 years ago. Even after the 83 tournament, Indian players would get INR 200 per day allowance and 1500 as match fees.
The South African cricket team was returning to international cricket in 1991 after a gap of 21 years and they were going to play their first three match ODI series against India.
At that time Indian television Doordrshan was broadcasting these matches and they were charging money for broadcasting instead of paying, and BCCI was just earning on tickets and on-ground advertisements.
But this time they kept the broadcasting rights in their hand and sold it to South African television channel for $200,000.
On the same year India opened their market for globalization foreign companies. New money started floating into India at the same time, these foreign companies wanted to market their products in India and nothing was watched more than cricket.
Because of satellite television, cricket was now seen even in small villages of India. It was great for these companies and BCCI. In 1993, India sold broadcast rights of England’s tour of India to a broadcasting company TWI for $600,000.
In no time, BCCI became the richest cricket board in the world. However, things change after you get rich. Remember, how NKP Salve grabbed 1987’s World Cup from England. It was decided according to rotational policy that England will host 1996’s World Cup.
But in 1996, a broadcaster named Mark Mascarhanes made an offer to BCCI that if India hosts the tournament, then he would give $ 14 million for broadcasting. BCCI liked the offer and got the hosting of 1996 World Cup.
But in 1996, Australia and West Indies refused to play their matches in Sri Lanka. Then a BCCI administrator Jagmohan Dalmiya thought, ICC’s next Chairman should be an Asian.
In 1997, Dalmiya contested ICC elections, and won.
But the question is, how?
Actually Mr. Dalmiya knew one thing, that most of ICC’s full time members would vote for the English Boards favorite candidate. At that time, associate teams had one vote each in these elections, but the representatives of these associate teams had no money to be present in the elections being held in London.
So Mr. Dalmiya bought tickets for representatives of associate teams, booked hotels in London for them, even hosted a dinner party for them before elections and when elections happened these representatives voted for Mr. Dalmiya and he won. Now an Indian was the boss of the world of cricket.
Indian Premier League (IPL) is the second richest sports league in the world, with a net worth surpassing 15 billion dollars but IPL is not the only T20 cricket league in the world. Every cricket Board has made their own cricket leagues, but BCCI does not allow their players to play in these leagues.
BCCI knows, value of these leagues might increase because of Indian viewership and if their value increases it might dilute the power of BCCI. So Indian players are not allowed to participate.
These boards have become so weak that they have to listen everything that BCCI orders because these boards only make money when India tours their countries. BCCI uses this very thing to get their things done in world cricket.
In 2012 England’s former Chief Justice submitted an independent report to ICC In which, he suggested some changes in governance. He felt that ICC shouldn’t be a Member Club Cricket Power is leaning to one side especially towards India. Associate nations aren’t getting enough funds, cricket won’t grow in these countries without funds.
BCCI takes the biggest share, ICC has only 12 full time members and 96 associate members. These members are underfunded. There is no chance that, cricket will grow in these countries without funds. Once $30,000 were given to the Chinese cricket board to improve cricket there. [2008 stats, current stats are not published]. China’s population is around 1.5 billion, how’s that even possible, that cricket will grow in country like China with such a small fund?
It’s not only about associate nations, even full time members are being further weakened. If we see the latest ICC Men’s Future Tours Program India will play most of the matches with top teams and with Zimbabwe and Ireland, India will play three and two matches respectively in five years, when Zimbabwe and Ireland are also full time members.
As far as the administrators of the game are concerned, they don’t care about West Indies Cricket. West Indies Cricket Board is bankrupt today, two times world champion team couldn’t even qualify for World Cup 2023, just because of lack of funds. How will these teams, cricket boards grow without the funds?
ICC is unofficially run by BCCI and instead of growing the game, they are shrinking it. In 2007’s World Cup, 16 teams played the tournament, and in 2023’s, only 10 teams participated. Apart from this there were 26 teams in International Association Football Federation (FIFA) World Cup 2006, and now there are 48 teams participating in 2026 World Cup.
You know why?
In 2007’s World Cup, India was eliminated early from the tournament, they could only play three matches. Broadcasters had to face a loss. If India had played more matches, broadcasters would have benefitted. BCCI reduced the teams and the format is designed in a way that India will definitely play nine matches.
BCCI doesn’t care about winning World Cups, they just want to make money. I feel, this sport should spread like football all around the world. With only 10 teams, it’s becoming boring and I think cricket has power to spread peace and happiness.
HowBCCI is killing Cricket:
You won’t believe it, from 2024 onwards, there will be no international cricket played for 2.5 months, only IPL. Isn’t this the murder of the sport we love so much?
Indian cricket is mostly run by Indian politicians and businessmen. Arun Jaitley’s son is president of Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA). Rajasthan’s CM’s Son Vaibhav Gehlot is President of Rajhistan cricket Association (RCA,) Sharad Pawar’s grandnephew is a President of Mumbai cricket association (MCA), Anurag Thakur, BJP politician, was a president Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) from there he became a president of BCCI.
Today his brother is a president of HPCA. Ashok Sigamani is president of Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA), the son of a Minister Jyotiradhitya Scindia is the president of Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA), his father was president of BCCI.
BCCI treasurer Chirayu Amin’s son Pranav Amin is Bihar cricket association (BCA)’s President, Sourav Ganguly’s brother is a President Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and the most fun example of this is Gujarat cricket associations former president was Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He gave that post to Amit Shah after becoming Prime Minister and today, Amit Shah’s son Jay Shah is the secretary of BCCI and I’m only talking about a few states here.
Cricket shouldn’t be run by politicians and businessmen, it should be run by former cricketers, that’s it. I’m the biggest fan of cricket, like any Pakistani, I can’t bear to see one private organization is controlling the growth of this game. I want this sport to grow all over the world because this sport can do many good things.
Afghanistan cricket team is one such example, these players initially used to live in refugee camps, they played World Cup in 2015 and you know what, Afghanistan cricket was initially helped by Pakistan.
But it feels like there are people in BCCI who don’t care about the growth of this game. They just want to make money, they just want to keep their power safe, even if they have to kill this centuries old sport to achieve that.

Pakistan sports journalist Doctor Nouman Niaz has claimed that former captain of the Pakistan cricket team, Babar Azam, rejected an offer worth 450,000 Australian dollars from Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL).
While talking to Pakistan former wicketkeeper batsman Rashid Latif, Niaz said in a live stream on YouTube channel ‘Caught Behind’, “I want to mention that Babar Azam has rejected Australian $450,000 offer from Big Bash League (BBL), and we should acknowledge that this is the type of players Pakistan has, who play for their country.”
Which BBL team offered Babar Azam AUD 450,000? Babar Azam is busy with Pakistan from Dec 6 till Jan 21 for Australia Tests and New Zealand T20Is, and the BBL is played from Dec 7 till Jan 24. Was Babar only going to play two playoffs? Strange! #BBL13pic.twitter.com/20mVoYFceO
Pakistan’s former captain Babar Azam resigned as the captain of the Pakistan cricket team from all three formats (ODI Test & T20) on November 15.
His resignation followed heavy criticism from fans and former cricketers after Pakistan’s poor performance in the ODI World Cup 2023. The team was not successful in reaching the semi-finals, ending their World Cup journey at the fifth spot.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced Shan Masood as the Test Captain while left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi became the T20 captain.
The decision to make Shaheen captain of the T20s has been accepted more easily by the general public after he proved himself a competitive captain in the last two seasons of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). His team, Lahore Qalanders, had the unenviable record of being eliminated every time in the group stage in earlier seasons. However, under Afridi, they won two trophies.
Now the question arises as to why Shan Masood was picked captain in the Test format.
Fans believe there were better options in the team like wicketkeeper-batsman Muhammad Rizwan and Sarfraz Ahmed, who led Pakistan to the Champions Trophy under the captaincy in 2017. The team won 11 consecutive T20 series under his captaincy.
Muhammad Rizwan is also a consistent player in all formats, with a better average and strike rate than Shan’s in all three formats.
Here is the all-time performance of Rizwan, Sarfraz, and Shan in test format (International).
Here is all time performance of these three players in all formats (International).
Shan Masood
Muhammad Rizwan
Sarfraz Ahmed
If the PCB must choose a captain on the player’s performance, then Rizwan must be the captain instead of Shan. But if they are picking a captain because he can speak good English or whatever, then our cricket will never improve, analysts and fans gave said.
In the past, every time Pakistan lost in any tournament, captains, coaches, and selectors were changed without a positive outcome.
Pakistan is set to play a three-match test series against Australia starting from December 14.
The new chief selector Wahab Riaz picked Imam-ul-Haq in the batting lineup despite the batter totally failing during the Asia Cup and World Cup 2023 campaign, while he didn’t select Sahib Zada Farhan by saying that “no place is left in the team”, effectively sidelining a very good right-handed batsman.
They also didn’t pick Muhammad Abbas who took 90 wickets in 25 test matches.
The need of the hour is the selection of captain, coach, or selector, should be on merit, otherwise, we cannot change our system.
