Australian Captain Pat Cummins in his Press Conference yesterday, said “In Sports, there’s nothing more satisfying than hearing a big crowd go silent and that’s the aim for us tomorrow, you’ve just got to embrace every part of a final”.

Today, Australia defeated the host India by 6 wickets in the final of the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup and became the world cricket champion for the sixth time.

Remember that India was unbeaten throughout the whole World Cup but they choked in the final against Australia.

  • This is how Pakistan can still qualify for semi-finals

This is how Pakistan can still qualify for semi-finals

New Zealand’s victory against Sri Lanka has made it difficult for Pakistan to qualify for the semi-finals of the World Cup.

Pakistan will be playing its next match against England on Saturday.

These are the possible scenarios in which Pakistan can qualify:

1-First priority is to win the toss which is not in their hands.

2-If they win the toss and bat first, they should make a mountain of runs to defeat England by 287 runs, for example:

If Pakistan makes 300 runs they should restrict them to 13 runs.

If they make 400 runs they should restrict them to 113 runs.

3-If Pakistan loses the toss and bowls, first they would have to restrict them to 50 runs and chase it down in 2.3 overs or restrict them on 150 and chase in 3.4 overs which is almost impossible.

‘PUBG Mobile Global Championship’: Updates on Pakistani teams

Pakistani PUBG mobile team Agonxi8 has been eliminated from PMGC (PUBG mobile global championship) in the league stages.

PMGC’s 48 teams were divided into three groups, GREEN, RED, and YELLOW. Team i8 was in group green and their matches were scheduled from November 2-5.

A total of 16 teams from group green were competing in their group stage matches. 11 teams from the top would’ve qualified for the next stage. The top 3 teams from the group stages directly qualified for finals while the remaining 8 teams had to qualify for the survival stage. Team i8 was on the 15th spot and got eliminated.

Team Agonxi8 is a good team from Pakistan and from the South Asia region. They have won PMPL (PUBG mobile pro league) Pakistan three times (PMPL fall 2022, PMPL spring 2023 and PMPL fall 2023) also PMCO (PUBG Mobile Club Open) fall 2021.

They faced many difficulties before this mega event like visa issues and the gaming devices on which this event was to be played.

All the teams reached the event venue 5-6 days ago, collected their devices, and started practicing. On the other hand, i8 team’s three players reached 1-2 days ago due to visa issues, while two players didn’t get visas and played from Pakistan. Both players who were playing from Pakistan collected their devices just a few hours before the event had started.

Another problem they faced was the communication gap, which meant all teams were sitting at one table and playing the game at the event venue, while our players were playing from different countries.

Two teams from Pakistan qualified for PMGC. Our second team is 7E (Seventh Element) and they are also very aggressive players. Their gun skills are next level and they are too good in rotations.

They have qualified through PMPL South Asia and are playing for the first time on a global stage like PMGC. They are placed in group Red, and their matches are scheduled from November 9-12.

We wish you the best of luck with team 7E and players Aliyan, Ashad, Divine, Goku bot, and T24 op for their PMGC journey. We hope they will give their best and make our country proud.

PMGC is a LAN (Local Area Network) event in Malaysia, starting from November 2, having a prize pool of $3 million.

  • Pakistani PUBG players facing visa issues on a global stage

Pakistani PUBG players facing visa issues on a global stage

Pakistan has produced many gems in E-sports like Arslan Ash, Atif Butt, Khan (Tekken players), and many more, while in PUBG (Player unknown battlegrounds) we have one of the finest players like Cryptoo, Falak, and others who have proved themselves on the global stage.

However, these Esports players always face visa issues when they are traveling to other countries. Now Pakistan’s one of the best PUBG teams, Agonxi8, who have qualified for the PMGC (Pubg mobile global championship) is facing visa issues due to a weak Pakistani passport. PMGC is a LAN (Local Area Network) event in Malaysia, starting from November 2, having a prize pool of $3 million.

Agon’s five players along with their owner and coach Trynda (in-game name) applied for visas but only three players were able to get visas. According to the rules, at least three players from the team should be at the event’s venue otherwise, they could get disqualified and all efforts of an entire year could be wasted. Now their three players will be playing from the venue while the remaining two players will be able to play from Pakistan. PUBG Mobile has dedicated a referee to maintain the fair competition for both players.

Another problem is that the player has to play their PMGC matches on the devices provided by the PUBG mobile organizers. Other teams from different countries already have traveled to Malaysia and gotten their devices, and they have ample time to practice on these new devices before their matches. Pakistani players have reached Malaysia just 2-3 days before the starting date and players who are playing from Pakistan will receive their devices on the game day. They only have a few hours to practice on new devices which will create difficulties during the game for them as compared to their opponents.

E-sports is a huge income source for the young generation but our visa policies and weak passport makes it difficult for them to compete on international forums. Even our government is not showing any interest in E-sports while other countries like India have many big organizations to provide facilities to e-sports players.

PCB throws Babar under the bus, urges support for team

After the Pakistan cricket team lost three World Cup matches in a row, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to publicly support the team. However, in a surprise move, they threw captain Babar Azam under the proverbial bus.

PCB released a press release on social media, urging fans to support the national team.

In the press release issued by the PCB, it was stated, “The board understands the sentiments and feelings of the cricket fans on the three consecutive failures of the national team in the ICC World Cup 2023, however, on this occasion, the board administration hopes from the public and former cricketers that captain Babar Azam and the players should be encouraged in this hour of difficulty”.

The PCB message said that the national team still has four matches to play in the World Cup, hopefully, the national team will forget the defeat and show a positive and good game in the upcoming matches.

PCB said, “On the criticism of former cricketers and the media on the captain Babar Azam and the team management and changing them, the cricket board is of the opinion that winning and losing is part of the game.

“Chairman PCB Management Committee Chaudhry Zaka Ashraf gave a complete free hand to Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq and Captain Babar Azam in the World Cup squad and did not hinder them in making the team as per their wish. In the future, the board will make decisions in light of the performance of the World Cup 2023 in due course. Currently, the board is fully hopeful of the team’s good performance to hoist the green flag on the field in the ICC World Cup 2023.”

  • Here is how Pakistan can qualify for World Cup semi-final

Here is how Pakistan can qualify for World Cup semi-final

After Monday’s humiliating defeat at the hands on Afghanistan, Pakistan team’s journey to reach the semi-finals once again depends on the loss or wins of other teams.

After Pakistan’s defeat, if we look at the World Cup group stage points table, India is first, New Zealand is second, South Africa is third and Australia is fourth, while despite the defeat, Pakistan is still in the fifth spot.

It should be noted that the top 4 teams at the end of the group stage will qualify for the semi-finals, but now the question is whether there is any way for the Pakistan team to reach the semi-finals or not.

Pakistan can still reach the semi-finals, but for that, Pakistan cannot lose any more matches.

In the remaining four matches, the first will be against South Africa on October 27, Bangladesh on October 31, New Zealand on November 4, and England on November 11. Pakistan will have 12 points in the group stage.

Even if Pakistan wins all their remaining matches, for Pakistan to reach the semi-finals, Bangladesh will have to defeat South Africa in today’s match, while South Africa should be defeated by India in their match on November 5.

New Zealand will have to at least lose to South Africa and Australia, as this will give them 10 points and Pakistan will have 12 points after six wins. Pakistan will also benefit from the defeat of South Africa by New Zealand in their next matches. Similarly, South Africa will have 10 points after winning five matches, and Pakistan will have 12 points after winning six matches.

There are other chances of Pakistan reaching the semi-finals in this tournament, but none of them are without risk.

Fans go crazy seeing Virat Kohli bowl after six years

Indian batting superstar Virat Kohli bowled in a one-day international for the first time in six years after all-rounder Hardik Pandya limped off midway through an over in Thursday’s World Cup match against Bangladesh.

It was the first time Kohli had bowled at this level since a 2017 return of 0-12 in two overs against Sri Lanka in Colombo — a match where he scored 131 in a crushing 168-run win.
Following a prolonged on-field treatment, Pandya tried running into bowl.

But clearly still in pain, he could only hobble towards the crease and eventually limped off, with key batsman Kohli completing the over to huge cheers from Indian fans. Virat gave two runs in the three balls when he completed the over.

After watching Virat’s bowling, fans couldn’t keep calm on social media and started sharing their reactions. Here are some reactions from fans on social media:

Pakistani cricketers show solidarity with Palestine

Pakistan cricket team players including Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmad, Usama Mir, Muhammad Nawaz, Abid Ali, Kamran Akmal, Azhar Ali, Noman Ali, Amer Yamin, Wasim Junior, Sohail Tanveer, Muhammad Abbas, Faheem Ashraf, Sahibzada Farhan and others stood in solidarity with Palestine and the people of Gaza.

Last night an Israeli air strike hit Al-Ahli hospital in Gaza, where thousands of innocent civilians were seeking medical treatment and shelter from Israel’s continuous bombing.

Gaza’s health ministry says there are at least 500 casualties in the hospital blast. An UN-run school, which was a shelter for refugees was also bombed. This was one of the deadliest air strikes by Israel in the history of the conflict. A direct attack on a hospital is an act of genocide, says a Palestinian Civil Defence spokesperson.

Pakistan men’s cricket teams showed solidarity with Palestine by posting the Palestinian flag on their X handles (formally Twitter).
