No lights, no camera, no action; Lux style awards cancelled over security concerns

The Lux Style Awards 2025, scheduled to take place on May 7 in Lahore, were cancelled just hours before the event.

This major awards show has been a key part of Pakistan’s entertainment industry since 2001, celebrating achievements in television, film, fashion, and music. However, organisers made a last-minute decision to call off the ceremony following serious security concerns amid rising tensions between Pakistan and India.

The cancellation follows Indian military strikes on Pakistan in the early hours of May 7, which killed 31 civilians, including children. The cross-border violence has raised security risks nationwide, prompting organisers to prioritise public safety over the planned celebrations.

The timing of the decision adds to its emotional impact. With India falsely blaming Pakistan for the recent Pahalgam attack, and deadly airstrikes further escalating the situation, organisers say safety must come first.

For now, the red carpet stays rolled up, and the stage remains empty.

  • Does Hania Aamir really have another Instagram account? Superstar clears the air

Does Hania Aamir really have another Instagram account? Superstar clears the air

Renowned actress Hania Aamir recently addressed her fans through an Instagram story, warning them about fake accounts pretending to be her.

“This is the only account I have on Instagram. In case anyone is getting any requests from any other accounts posing as me, please report them. Thank you. <3” she wrote.

This clarification comes at a time when Hania is dealing with a massive drop in her online engagement. Following the recent Pahalgam attack, the Indian government reportedly blocked Instagram accounts of several Pakistani celebrities including Hania’s cutting them off from a large chunk of their fanbase in India.

Before the ban, Hania’s Instagram posts regularly crossed 950,000 likes with thousands of comments. But now, her latest posts are getting around 85,000 likes  a nearly 90 percent drop in reach. Many believe this is due to her Indian followers losing access to her profile.

Amid this situation, a mysterious Instagram account named ‘naaamtousunahogaa’ became visible to Indian users and was even followed by Hania’s official account.

This sparked rumors that she may have created a new account for her Indian fans a theory she has now subtly shut down with her recent statement.

‘India’s attacking us, and you’re crying over Instagram followers’; Nadia Khan slams celebs

Television host Nadia Khan got emotional while talking about the behavior of Pakistani celebrities during the ongoing tensions between Pakistan and India. Her heartfelt video has gone viral on social media, sparking widespread discussion.

Taking a clear dig at fellow celebrities without naming anyone, Nadia Khan said, “India is attacking our country but shameless showbiz personalities are worried about losing their followers.”

She continued, “They’re upset that their dramas are being stopped in India, while India is attacking our country. I don’t understand this mindset.”

Nadia strongly criticized those in the entertainment industry who, in her view, fail to appreciate the sacrifices of the armed forces. “Shameless showbiz personalities do not understand that our forces are protecting us on the borders, and yet they speak against them,” she said emotionally.

Praising the Pakistani military, Nadia Khan added, “Our soldiers stand at the borders and fight the enemy so we can sleep peacefully. They are protecting our future generations, and yet we still speak against them?”

In a sarcastic tone, she taunted certain celebrities, saying, “If you’re so concerned about Indian fans and your dramas being shut down, then maybe you should go to the battlefield yourself.”

She further said, “Actors should be sent to the borders so they can understand what real war feels like.”

As she spoke about the military’s sacrifices and the perceived apathy of showbiz figures, Nadia became visibly emotional, with her voice trembling during the video.

The clip, where she praises the Pakistani army and calls out the silence of fellow celebrities, has received praise from fans, many of whom admired her patriotism and bold stance.

This isn’t the first time Nadia Khan has voiced her disappointment. In the past, she had criticized celebrities like Fawad Khan and Hania Aamir for condemning the April 22 incident in Pahalgam, Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), but staying silent on Palestine and Indian government aggression.

Hasan Raheem lashes out at India for celebrating attack that killed Pakistani child

Renowned Pakistani singer Hasan Raheem has spoken out strongly against India’s recent missile attack on Pakistan, sharing a powerful and emotional message through his Instagram stories and a video.

Hasan revealed that even before the current tensions, he had faced discrimination from the Indian entertainment industry.

“Before any of this happened, my fellow Indian artists were being pressured not to collaborate with me just because I’m a Pakistani,” he wrote on Instagram.

He questioned the growing hatred and highlighted the hypocrisy in public reactions.

“Where does this hatred come from? I honestly don’t understand it. We’ve seen many wars in our history, and so many mothers have lost their children because of people like this. God always values peace more, but if needed, we will respond strongly,” he added.

Reacting to the public celebrations in India after the attack on Pakistan, Hasan posted a video saying: “With all due respect to my Indian fans, and especially my Pakistani audience, I want to say one thing: the issue isn’t whether Pakistan was behind the Pahalgam attack or not. We asked for proof, and it was never given. These matters are beyond you and me. But what matters is that a child was martyred last night, and two civilians died.”

He added with disappointment, “From my room, I watched how your nation reacted; the happiness, the celebration. That’s what hurts. When the Pahalgam attack happened, every person in Pakistan condemned it. We called it a terrorist attack. We stood against it. But now, when Pakistan is attacked, people celebrate?”

He ended with a reminder to think before supporting violence: “We’re not just sitting here sipping tea. Last night, the world saw the true face of our neighbouring country; how moral and democratic it really is. Pakistan Zindabad.”

‘Pakistan have us a walima’; Shafaat Ali mocks India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ in viral Modi spoof

Comedian Shafaat Ali has added his signature satirical twist to the national discourse, as outrage continues across Pakistan over India’s recent missile attacks, this time by imitating Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a viral video.

In the clip, posted on Instagram, Shafaat mocked India’s military move by parodying Modi’s speech style and choice of words.

Speaking in a thick Modi accent, he said, “Last night, our Air Force asked for permission, and the command was ‘Sindoor’, a decision that will change history and win the Bihar elections.”

Referring to Pakistan’s powerful retaliation, he joked, “When our Air Force reached Pakistan, we were given a full walima in response. Now, what can I say about our Rafale and MiG aircraft?”

The spoof didn’t end there. In a humorous tribute to Pakistan’s military leadership, Shafaat, still in character as Modi, declared, “We want to say only one thing to Pakistan on behalf of the Indian Army and the world’s largest democracy: General Asim Munir, you are my life, my soul!”

Shafaat’s satirical video quickly went viral, striking a chord with viewers who found humour in the face of ongoing tensions. While packed with comedy, the performance also captured the spirit of a nation standing united against aggression.

‘India has put it’s hand in the lion’s mouth’; Muneeb Butt slams attack on civilians

Pakistani actor Muneeb Butt has spoken out strongly against India’s recent “cowardly” missile attacks, condemning the assault on Pakistani civilians carried out under the cover of darkness.

Taking to Instagram, Muneeb shared a powerful video in which he criticised Indian aggression and called for national unity.

“India carried out a cowardly attack in the dark of night, targeting innocent children in madrasas and the poor living nearby,” he said.

Calling for a united front, Muneeb addressed the Pakistani public, saying: “I want to say one thing to my people this is not the time to fight each other over politics. We’ve been attacked by an external enemy. At this moment, we all need to unite and send one clear message: the people of Pakistan are not afraid of anyone.”

Referring to Pakistan’s defence capabilities, he added: “Pakistan is a nuclear power the only Islamic country with nuclear weapons. India has no idea it has put its hand in the mouth of a lion. This attack will be responded to befittingly.”

Muneeb emphasised that his criticism is not aimed at the Indian public, but rather at those fueling extremist ideologies, stating, “We have no enmity with the Indian people. Our fight is against the anti-Islamic mindset of India’s current leadership. As long as there is blood in our veins, we will resist this mindset and we will win.”

Indian army launched overnight attacks on Kotli, Muzaffarabad, and Bagh in Azad Kashmir, as well as Muridke and Ahmedpur Sharqia in Punjab, resulting in the martyrdom of 26 civilians, including two children and injuring 46 others. Two mosques were also destroyed in the assault.

In response, Pakistan’s armed forces launched a decisive counterattack, reportedly destroying three Rafale jets, a Sukhoi, a MiG-29, and two drones. Additionally, they hit Indian brigade headquarters, forcing the Indian side to raise white flags at multiple points along the Line of Control (LoC), an apparent admission of defeat.

My heart aches for every Pakistani family that has lost a loved one today. We will not forget this brutality, and we will not stay silent in the face of such injustice. I pray for the souls we have lost, for the safety of our people, and for the future of Pakistan a future where such senseless violence has no place. Today, we stand united, stronger and prouder than ever!!”

Hania Aamir responded emotionally to a post circulating on X, calling out the cruelty of celebrating a child’s death.

This is not how you protect anyone. This is cruelty plain and simple. You don’t get to bomb innocent people and call it strategy. This isn’t strength. This is shameful. This is cowardly. And we see you.”

  • Shots fired: Is Falak Shabbir targeting Atif Aslam’s qawwali mix?

Shots fired: Is Falak Shabbir targeting Atif Aslam’s qawwali mix?

Singer Falak Shabir, husband of renowned actress Sarah Khan, recently shared his thoughts on social media about modern renditions of classic qawwalis; a message fans believe was a direct dig at Atif Aslam.

Without naming anyone, Falak criticised contemporary singers who keep revamping the legendary Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s qawwalis instead of producing original music.

He wrote on his Instagram story: “Khan Shahab ko unki akhri aram gah main tu aram karnay dein please. And work on some originals  I Think we should let Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s soul in peace at his eternal resting place and should produce something new and original”

His comment sparked discussion online, with many linking it to Atif Aslam’s recent modern rendition of a Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan classic.

While Falak didn’t mention Atif by name, the timing and tone led fans to assume the comment was directed at him.

The remark stirred debate on social media. Some supported Falak, saying originality in music is vanishing, while others defended Atif for bringing qawwali to a younger generation.

One fan wrote, “Atif Aslam is not ruining qawwali  he’s reviving it for new audiences,” while another commented, “Falak should first create something legendary himself before criticizing.”

Atif Aslam recently reinterpreted a classic qawwali by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, giving it a contemporary twist.
