  • ‘You’re two hours away from death’: Did Bushra Ansari just hit out at Javed Akhtar?

‘You’re two hours away from death’: Did Bushra Ansari just hit out at Javed Akhtar?

Pakistan’s renowned actor Bushra Ansari has clapped back at recent hate-filled remarks by an Indian literary figure following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. Though she didn’t name anyone, many on social media believe her comments were aimed at lyricist Javed Akhtar, who recently called on the Indian government to take action against Pakistan.

Speaking during a trip abroad, Bushra said in a video that the “so-called writer was just waiting for an excuse. He couldn’t even get a house on rent in Bombay. For his survival, he’ll say anything.”

She went on, “You’re two hours from death and still spewing nonsense. Stop this madness. Show some dignity.”

Bushra questioned the motive behind such comments, saying they seemed driven by fear and greed. “Even Naseeruddin Shah is quiet. Others are staying silent too. Why can’t he?” she asked.

Stressing that ordinary people on both sides aren’t enemies, she shared how Indian girls abroad had welcomed her with warmth. “People aren’t bad,” she said. “You people are the ones fuelling hate, turning hearts against each other.”

Although Bushra did not name Javed Akhtar, her video sparked a strong reaction online, with many praising her for speaking out boldly.

“Love you ❤❤❤ Salamat rehain. Javed Akhtar deserves this.”

“The way she roasted Javed Akhtar Maza aa gaya ”

“Very well said, and the way you have roasted that Javed Akhtar is absolutely amazing. ❤❤❤ ”

Earlier, Javed Akhtar had publicly urged the Indian central government to take firm action against Pakistan over its alleged involvement in the Pahalgam attack. Speaking at the Glorious Maharashtra Festival, he said, as quoted by ANI: “This has happened not just once but several times. I request that the Central Government take immediate steps. A few crackers on the border will not work. Take a solid step now.”

He added, “That mad Army chief (in Pakistan) says Hindus and Muslims are different communities. He does not even care that there are Hindus in his country too. What kind of man is he? They should get a befitting reply so that they remember.

The attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) on April 22 claimed the lives of 26 people. Since then, India has been blaming Pakistan for the incident without providing any concrete evidence.

  • Alizeh Shah calls out ‘Parchi Culture’, and slams fake professionalism in showbiz

Alizeh Shah calls out ‘Parchi Culture’, and slams fake professionalism in showbiz

Actress Alizeh Shah has spoken out against unethical practices in the entertainment industry via her Instagram Stories.

Best known for her breakout role in Ehd-e-Wafa, Alizeh has frequently made headlines, whether for her fashion choices or candid opinions. Recently, she wiped all her Instagram posts and announced a break from the platform.

She has since returned to Instagram, and without naming anyone, she criticised the “parchi culture”, a system where individuals land roles through connections rather than talent. She wrote: “parchi srf Pakistan takh hi chalti hai inki…”

Alizeh also shed light on what she called fake professionalism: “Oh, the perks of being ‘professional’ in this industry… dinners without projects and of course, the sacred closed-door rituals. Say no, and suddenly you’re battameez, difficult, and ‘not serious about your career.’”

She made it clear that she was proud of her journey and refused to compromise her dignity: “Thank God I missed the memo on selling self-respect as part of the PR package.”

“If that’s the price of being a celebrity, I’m more than happy staying just human.”

Alizeh criticised how those who refused to participate in these “ugly games” were often labelled as unprofessional or ill-mannered. Her bold statements reignited public debate around merit, ethics, and fairness in Pakistan’s entertainment industry. While many fans praised her honesty, others questioned her motives and the timing of her remarks.

Earlier, Alizeh Shah had revealed that constant trolling and criticism had severely affected both her emotional and physical well-being. She said the pressure became so overwhelming that she felt the need to distance herself from social media and from the people around her.

In a detailed Instagram Story, she shared: “The trolling, the constant criticism, the negativity it didn’t just hurt me emotionally. It’s now affecting my physical health. It reached a point where I had no choice but to isolate myself completely not just from social media, but from everyone around me. I feel broken, exhausted, and overwhelmed in ways I can’t even explain.”

Following this emotional breakdown, the actress unfollowed everyone on Instagram and deleted all her posts, leaving behind only two highlights: one about Gaza and the other clarifying that she was not on Snapchat.

She further wrote, “Even after updating my bio and clearly saying I’m alive, some people still chose to spread rumors. News channels contacted my parents, asking if I’m dead. Imagine what that does to a family, to a mother’s heart. Please, understand how much this has hurt me and the people I love.”

Alizeh also expressed doubt about her future in the public eye, “Right now, I genuinely don’t know when or if I’ll ever return to Instagram or TV dramas. The pressure became too much. The weight of it has made me physically sick.”

She ended her message with a request, “All I ask is for some space… Please stop contacting my family. Please stop making up stories. Please just let me breathe.”

Over the years, Alizeh has often been targeted online for her personal choices—whether it was smoking in her car, cutting her hair short, setting boundaries at work, or wearing a tank top.

More recently, she was involved in a public disagreement with actor Zarnish Khan. In an interview on Voice Over Man, Zarnish remarked that Alizeh would win a competition for being “rude”.

Although Zarnish later apologised, Alizeh responded by posting a screenshot of their chat and replied: “It won’t fix the damage you did. I do not forgive you.”

Alizeh also claimed that her mother had contacted Zarnish to ask about the remarks, and that Zarnish had promised to explain everything in a video. However, according to Alizeh, Zarnish later blocked her mother’s number.

  • ‘Subscribed to VPN just for you’; Indian fans go the extra mile to follow Hania Aamir on Instagram

‘Subscribed to VPN just for you’; Indian fans go the extra mile to follow Hania Aamir on Instagram

After the Indian government blocked Pakistani superstar Hania Aamir’s Instagram account, her Indian fans found a clever way to keep following her by using a VPN.

The ban was imposed after the April 22 attack in Pahalgam, Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) .Several Pakistani celebrities’ social media accounts, including Hania’s, were blocked in India and labeled national security threats.

But that didn’t stop her admirers.

Hania recently posted new photos on Instagram with the caption: ““Yaad nai satati”?” Her comment section quickly filled with replies from Indian fans, many of whom revealed they had subscribed to VPN services to access her account.

Many expressed how much they missed her. Some even shared that they had subscribed to VPN services just to view her posts. “I subscribed to a VPN for you!” one user wrote. Another added, “Don’t worry, Indians will reach your Instagram even from Mars.”

Hania responded to one of the comments with a playful “Sadqy.”

Fans from Bangladesh also joined in to show their love and support in the comments.

One Indian fan wrote that she would pass Hania’s message along to her friends in India — to which the actress responded with a warm thank you.

  • Dananeer Mobeen’s film debut lands in trouble over her portrayal of Lyari athletes

Dananeer Mobeen’s film debut lands in trouble over her portrayal of Lyari athletes

Young drama star Dananeer Mobeen is now all set to make her big-screen debut with the upcoming film Behnaz, following her recent television success, but not everyone is looking forward to it.

Dananeer is reportedly currently working on a sports-based film set in Lyari, a Karachi neighbourhood known for its football talent and rich culture. The film is being directed by Abu Aleeha, who is known for projects like Kukri, Super Punjabi, and Taxali Gate.

Renowned actress Ayesha Omar will also feature in the film, playing the role of a football coach.

While the announcement has excited many of Dananeer’s fans, who are thrilled to see her take this next step in her career, the casting choice has triggered online backlash, especially around issues of representation and colourism.

On X (formerly Twitter), user Maryam J (@maryammjamali) voiced strong concerns: “Log isse hot take samjhein ge, but casting Dananeer in a film on football in Lyari probably based on or inspired by stories of Baloch footballers, especially Afro-Baloch communities is not it. She’s the big new star but this also reeks of colorism and co-opting stories.”

Maryam added: “Lyari has such a huge arts community specifically into filmmaking and music that they can easily cast local people in their own stories. This interest in the arts was driven by young people coping with the amount of violence that took place there.”

She also pointed out: “People in Lyari don’t look like her. Their identity as ‘Little Brazil’ historically comes from people watching Brazilian players like Pelé and relating to them, joking that they look the same.”

Another user responded in agreement: “Hot take nahi hai you’re absolutely right & it’s extremely weird that they didn’t cast a local.”

In addition to criticism over representation, others also raised concerns about the repetitive casting of popular TV stars in Pakistani films, saying it limits space for new talent.

“It’s getting boring to see the same actors again and again something new should happen,” commented another user.

  • Bilal Maqsood recalls Tokyo encounter that became ‘kindest moment’ of his life

Bilal Maqsood recalls Tokyo encounter that became ‘kindest moment’ of his life

Bilal Maqsood recently shared a heartwarming story from his recent trip to Japan that restored his faith in humanity.

The singer and his wife were at Tokyo’s metro station on their first day in the city. They accidentally took the wrong exit and quickly realised they couldn’t re-enter through the electronic gate.

Maqsood recounted the experience in an Instagram post, saying, “We quickly realised we’d turned the wrong way and tried to re-enter through the electronic gate, but it wouldn’t let us. After all the research and YouTube videos about Japan’s metro system, I never thought we’d get stuck, but it happened.”

Stranded in a quiet hallway, Maqsood approached an elderly Japanese man who could not speak English, but he understood their situation. “I hurried over, apologetically, convinced he wouldn’t speak English. And yes, he didn’t. But he understood we were stranded. With a warm smile and a hand gesture, he asked us to wait, repeating the gesture two or three times, then powered off and disappeared.”

Just moments later, the man returned with a station officer who spoke fluent English. The officer explained what they needed to do, while the kind man stood by, smiling. “When everything was sorted, we bowed and thanked him two or three times (Japanese style). But he waved that off, ‘come, come, come,’ still smiling and personally guided us to our platform.”

As the couple boarded the train, the kind stranger pointed out the train and made sure they got on. “We bowed again, jumped in, and when we turned back he was still standing there, smiling and waving. We waved; he waved back. We waved again; he waved again. Doors closed. He was still there, waving and smiling and kept waving till the train started moving.”

Maqsood described the experience as “one of the kindest human moments” of his life.

  • ‘Self-respect’; Urwa Hussain slams celebs who put fans above country

‘Self-respect’; Urwa Hussain slams celebs who put fans above country

Actress Urwa Hussain shared an Instagram story in which she spoke about self-respect and national dignity, in the context of ongoing tensions between Pakistan and India following the April 22 Pahalgam attack.

Although Urwa did not name anyone specifically in her post, many social media users speculated that her message was indirectly aimed at fellow actress Hania Aamir, whose Instagram account was recently blocked in India. Hania had, nonetheless, publicly thanked her Indian fans for their continued support.

Urwa’s post read: “Reclaim your self-respect! Propaganda is also one of the methods used in psychological warfare, and when there’s war, you don’t try to save your fans on the other side.

Have faith they’ll still be there even when you stand tall with your own people and the land that cultivated you in the first place. You show ‘SELF-RESPECT’ and ‘BOUNDARIES,’ and you protect your ‘HOME’ first! Someone please add these basic subjects in our school curriculums, I guess!”

The post quickly went viral, with many linking it to Hania Aamir’s recent interactions with Indian fans, although Urwa did not directly reference anyone.

Earlier, Hania had responded warmly to Indian fans accessing her content via VPN. One fan wrote, “Hello Hania, I just got a VPN subscription, love from India,” to which Hania replied, “Love you.” Another fan commented, “We will see your posts from Mars too,” to which Hania responded, “Sadke.”

Since the Pahalgam attack on April 22 in Indian Illegally Occupied Kashmir, India has been blocking the social media accounts of several Pakistani figures, including Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, DG ISPR, and Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar. India has blamed Pakistan for the attack but has yet to provide any solid proof. In addition, India has banned Pakistani YouTubers, dramas, and celebrities, sparking strong reactions from both the Pakistani government and the public.

  • Hamza Ali Abbasi breaks silence on performing friend’s nikkah

Hamza Ali Abbasi breaks silence on performing friend’s nikkah

Actor Hamza Ali Abbasi has recently responded to the criticism he faced for performing the Nikah at a close friend’s wedding.

A video that went viral some time ago showed Hamza conducting the Nikah ceremony, during which he also asked the groom to declare the Haq Mehar (dower, or the obligatory financial gift a groom is promised to give his bride at the time of marriage).

In a recent podcast interview, Hamza explained, “Performing Nikah or Janazah is basic religious knowledge that every Muslim should have. My friend himself requested me [to conduct his Nikah], so I took up the responsibility.” He also clarified that a religious scholar was present at the ceremony to guide him.

Hamza, who has been engaged in the study of Islam for years now, further discussed his spiritual journey during the interview. “What I say is not my personal opinion, but knowledge gained from the Quran, Hadith, and lectures of scholars,” he emphasised.

He also revealed that he follows the Ghamdi School of Thought and has made significant moral changes in his life since 2017. He added, “I work within my limits and do not cross any boundaries as per Sharia.”

Earlier, social media users were divided over the viral video showing Hamza officiating the Nikah.

The clip featured him reading from a phone and asking the groom if he accepted the bride three times — to which the groom replied, “Qabool hai [I accept]” each time. Hamza responded with, “SubhanAllah [Glory be to Allah].”

While many praised the video, calling Nikah a legal act that any Muslim can conduct, others felt that the moment lacked a certain religious decorum.

“Nikah and funeral prayers can be conducted by any Muslim,” wrote one user. Another commented, “It’s a good practice, and not everything needs to be criticised online.”

“My Nikah was officiated by my uncle — there’s nothing wrong with that,” added another.

Others even praised Hamza’s appearance in the video, calling him a “handsome Nikah officiator.”

The video resurfaced just months after Hamza made headlines for publishing his book My Discovery of God: Islam and Judgement Day.

Before that, he had announced embarking on a journey of self-discovery to study religion.

“Alhamdulillah. For now, it is available in the USA only, but soon it will be available globally and in Pakistan. Will keep you all posted. Thank you,” he wrote in a social media post announcing the book.

Many congratulated him on the accomplishment, while others posed tough questions — which Hamza welcomed and answered directly.

  • Jannat Mirza returning home after being criticised for silence on Pak-India tensions

Jannat Mirza returning home after being criticised for silence on Pak-India tensions

Pakistani TikToker Jannat Mirza, who has recently been the target of criticism for remaining silent on the rising tensions between Pakistan and India, has now shared her thoughts—urging peace and dialogue over war.

In a viral video, Jannat was seen avoiding a journalist’s question about how the escalating tensions between the two countries might impact public figures like herself.

Her refusal to respond drew backlash, with many netizens accusing her of prioritising Indian followers over taking a stand for Pakistan.
Without responding to the criticism, Jannat posted an Instagram story expressing her concern over the situation. She wrote: “I was supposed to spend my holidays in London, but due to the looming threat of war between India and Pakistan, I’ve decided to cut my trip short and return home. My love for Pakistan knows no bounds, and nothing is more important to me than the safety and well-being of my country.”

She further emphasised the need for peace, saying, “War is never a solution to any problem; it only brings destruction and devastation. I firmly believe that issues should be resolved through peaceful dialogue and table talks, not through violence and aggression.”

Jannat concluded her message with a hopeful note, “Let’s hope for a peaceful resolution and a brighter future for our beloved Pakistan.”

Her statement comes at a time when public figures are increasingly under pressure to speak up amid growing tensions between the neighbouring nations.

  • Ducky Bhai refuses to comment on India’s threats against Pakistan

Ducky Bhai refuses to comment on India’s threats against Pakistan

Popular YouTuber Saad ur Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, refused to comment when questioned about rising tensions between Pakistan and India.

He appeared at the Lahore High Court on Thursday in a case related to reckless driving and was granted bail until May 5.

After the court hearing, a reporter asked Ducky Bhai about the recent warning issued by the Pakistani government regarding a potential Indian attack within the next 36 to 48 hours. The journalist asked:“The federal interior minister has said that India may attack Pakistan within 36 to 48 hours. As a social media influencer, what is your stance on this?”

Ducky Bhai chose not to respond.

Instead, his lawyer Chaudhary Usman addressed the media, saying:“We’ll speak on this matter some other time. For now, we’re here for the case at hand, and we’ll stick to that.”

Another reporter asked Ducky Bhai about the ongoing tensions between Pakistan and India, specifically regarding the online propaganda being spread by Indian social media influencers, and whether Pakistani influencers should also speak up.

Ducky Bhai remained silent, but his lawyer responded, “Absolutely, we stand with our country, our army, and our institutions.”

A journalist then asked, “Shouldn’t a strong response be given?”

To this, Ducky Bhai replied, “Right now, I’m dealing with my own personal issues. Let me sort those out first, then I’ll talk about this.”

When a final question suggested that he might be staying silent to protect his Indian viewership, Ducky Bhai responded: “No, I don’t really have that much viewership in India.”

The YouTuber recently faced legal trouble after the Motorway Police took action against him for posting a video in which he was seen speeding and driving hands-free on the motorway.

As political tensions grow between Pakistan and India, public figures are increasingly under pressure to take a stance. However, many remain silent, aware that their fan bases span both countries.

Earlier, Pakistan’s most-followed TikToker, Jannat Mirza, also made headlines—but not for her content.

At a recent public event in London promoting Shumaila’s Aesthetic Hair Laser Clinic, Jannat was asked about the ongoing tensions between Pakistan and India following the Pahalgam attack.

Instead of answering, she gestured by sealing her lips and walked away.

Her reaction sparked immediate backlash online, with many accusing her of avoiding the topic to protect her following in India. Some social media users even questioned her courage and credibility as a public figure.
