Paresh Rawal reveals he has drank his own urine ‘like beer’

Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal recently shared a story about how an unusual piece of advice helped him recover faster from a serious injury.

During the shooting of Rajkumar Santoshi’s film Ghatak, Paresh suffered a knee injury and was rushed to Nanavati Hospital by Tinnu Anand and Danny Denzongpa. Doctors told him it would take around three months for him to fully recover.

Action choreographer Veeru Devgan found out that Paresh had been admitted while he was visiting for another reason. Paresh said, “Veeru Devgan came to visit when I was in Nanavati (hospital). When he found out I was there, he came up to me and asked what happened. I told him about my knee injury.”

Veeru then gave him an unusual suggestion.

“He told me to drink my own urine first thing in the morning,” Paresh revealed.

Veeru also advised him to stay away from alcohol, red meat, and smoking during his recovery.

“He said all action people do that,” Paresh recalled him saying.

Talking about how he followed the advice, Paresh shared, “I had decided if I had to drink my own urine, I wouldn’t have it all at once; I’d sip it like beer. Because I wanted to do it properly.”

He added, “I did this for 15 days. Fifteen days later, when the doctor took my X-ray, he was shocked. The doctor asked me, ‘How did this cementing happen?’ He could see a white line forming.”

Thanks to the unexpected remedy, Paresh recovered much faster than expected. “I was supposed to be discharged in 2-2.5 months, but I was discharged in 1.5 months. It was like magic,” he said.

Fans were shocked after hearing this revelation. One commented, “Paresh Rawal just ruined beer for me.” Another wrote, “How is this even possible?” and some thought it was unbelievable, saying, “This is information I really didn’t need.”

On the work front, Paresh Rawal was last seen in The Storyteller, in which he played Tarini Bandyopadhyay. He also has several upcoming projects, including Bhoot Bangla with Akshay Kumar, Thama with Ayushmann Khurrana, and Hera Pheri 3 alongside Akshay and Suniel Shetty.

  • Behind the glamour, Maheen Khan exposes the rotten core of fashion journalism

Behind the glamour, Maheen Khan exposes the rotten core of fashion journalism

Renowned Pakistani designer and fashion icon Maheen Khan is known for her candour, and her recent comments have rekindled a longstanding discussion about fashion journalism in Pakistan.

On the FWhy Podcast with Feriha Altaf, Maheen Khan openly shared her frustration with self-proclaimed “fashion journalists,” attributing part of the decline of Pakistan’s Fashion Weeks and Councils to them.

“What I am about to say comes from deep within my heart… the individuals who are partly accountable for the downfall of our fashion weeks are these so-called journalists,” she said.

Highlighting the lack of industry knowledge among critics, she didn’t hold back: “You don’t know a thing about fashion. Who made you queen of fashion? Who gave you the right to criticise designers?” she questioned bluntly.

By drawing parallels to global fashion media figures like Anna Wintour and Suzy Menkes, Maheen highlighted how international fashion journalists, despite their clout, exhibit a degree of “containment and sophistication” in their assessments.

“No one openly declares [that a] collection was awful,” she remarked, contrasting it with the harsh and often demoralising local reviews designers encounter after every show.

The conversation also touched on the importance of personal presentation, with Maheen arguing that fashion journalists should “look the part.”

When Feriha countered that icons like Suzy Menkes have a distinct style of their own, Maheen stood her ground, asserting that a fashion journalist’s credibility extends to how they carry themselves visually.

In a blistering critique of contemporary media practices, Maheen expressed her dismay that a significant portion of modern fashion journalism is nothing more than “paid content.”

“Pay up, and watch the spectacle. Everything you witness on social media has been sponsored. There’s no genuine journalism left,” she lamented, illustrating a bleak landscape of a monetised, creativity-deprived fashion industry.

Her remarks triggered swift responses online. Some praised her for shedding light on “harsh truths”, while others respectfully disagreed, claiming that the real decline of Pakistan’s fashion scene is a result of internal politics, excessive commercialisation, and the failure of councils to innovate without corporate backing.

One user on social media highlighted, “The trivial politics among fashion insiders themselves led to the councils’ downfall, not journalists.” Another remarked, “Fashion media worldwide has become monetized. This isn’t merely a Pakistan-centric issue.”

Although Maheen Khan’s perspective resonated with many, some felt her delivery was overly severe.

“Even when pointing out incompetence, it’s beneficial to communicate with grace—especially for someone of Maheen’s prominence,” one commented.

  • Ahsan Khan reacts to claims about THAT medicine scene

Ahsan Khan reacts to claims about THAT medicine scene

In a candid interview with The Current, actor Ahsan Khan has shared his thoughts on the recent controversy surrounding a scene in his drama Daayan involving a reference to what viewers assumed was Viagra.

During the interview, the host quoted a conversation from the show Kya Drama Hai, where actresses Atiqa Odho, Marina Khan, and Nadia Khan, while discussing Daayan, assumed that the medicine mentioned in the scene is typically given to men to help them treat erectile dysfunction.

Surprised, Ahsan immediately replied, laughing, “What the hell are you talking about?” When the host asked if he had or had not seen the show, he responded, “I have seen it. I’ll explain to you.”

He then clarified the origin of the controversy, explaining the plot in which Nihaal, played by Mehwish Hayat, grows closer to Zawar Shah, played by Ahsan Khan, after a marriage is arranged between them.

“So the first time she comes near me… the maid tells her to give ‘sir’ [Ahsan Khan] medicine for his headache. This is said clearly,” Ahsan Khan stated.

He clarified that no reference to Viagra was intended, but some viewers misunderstood it. “Using the excuse of a headache medicine, she brings a glass of water to me. So maybe because of that [they misunderstood],” he added.

Alluding to the viral memes made about the scene, he said, “In fact, it became a little embarrassing because memes started circulating. And on those memes… I don’t want to name it, but whatever ‘improvement medicine’ it is… [they] used its tag and put my face on it and Shabab’s too.”

Addressing comments made by senior artists Atiqa Odho, Marina Khan, Nadia Khan, and Muqarram, he said, “Whatever Atiqa, Marina, Nadia said — I mean, I love Atiqa, Marina, and Nadia. They are like my colleagues, and Muqarram also — but they said it funnily, but didn’t say too much, I think.”

When asked how he deals with such controversies, Ahsan responded thoughtfully: “Actually, usually I feel that our social media life is one or two days long… Anything that goes viral on social media doesn’t last long. So, mostly I ignore it, unless and until it’s personally harming your reputation or your family’s reputation.”

Reflecting on the entire experience, Ahsan concluded with a smile, “When you hear so many good comments, then even if a little controversy comes or something funny happens, I… I enjoyed it, by the way.”

In an episode of Kya Baat Hai aired two weeks ago, Nadia Khan and Atiqa Odho discussed the much-talked-about medicine scene from the drama Daayan.

Nadia Khan jokingly said, “Ahsan Khan told us about the headache medicine, but it sounded a bit strange,” to which Atiqa Odho responded, “But he is young; he doesn’t need Viagra.”

Nadia then added with a laugh, “I know, they are happy, they have a happy marriage, so obviously that means the bedroom scene must be fine.”

  • Adnan Sami vs Fawad Chaudhry: War of words erupts after India orders Pakistanis to leave

Adnan Sami vs Fawad Chaudhry: War of words erupts after India orders Pakistanis to leave

Pakistani-origin Indian singer Adnan Sami Khan is once again in focus following the attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, on April 22. Since the attack, India has taken diplomatic steps by cancelling visas issued to Pakistani citizens under the SAARC visa agreement and issuing an ultimatum for them to immediately leave the country.

A heated exchange erupted between Adnan Sami and former Pakistani federal minister Fawad Chaudhry on social media.

The clash began when Fawad Chaudhry commented on an Indian journalist’s post about the deadline for Pakistanis to leave India, asking, “What will happen to Pakistani-origin singer Adnan Sami?”

Adnan Sami fired back, saying, “Who will tell this ignorant fool?”

Fawad Chaudhry then reminded Adnan Sami of his roots, stating, “Our own Lahoreite Adnan Sami looks like the air has been let out of a balloon, get well soon.”

This comment further fuelled Sami’s anger. In his response, Adnan wrote, “It is surprising to know that you have been the Minister of (mis)information but you do not even know that I belong to Peshawar, not Lahore.”

He also added, “My air has run out, you are still a balloon. And you were the Minister of Science? You don’t even know basic facts, what nonsense is science.”

The fiery exchange quickly caught the attention of social media users. Many joined the debate, with some supporting Adnan Sami and others siding with Fawad Chaudhry.

  • Pakistani celebrities expose Indian media’s fake reporting after Pahalgam attack

Pakistani celebrities expose Indian media’s fake reporting after Pahalgam attack

Pakistani celebrities have expressed anger over the negative propaganda spread by Indian media, social media, and the government after the attack in Pahalgam, with some using strong words to warn the Modi government that “the consequences of taking the initiative will be bad.”

Actor, producer, and director Yasir Nawaz, in a video message on Instagram, requested the Indian media and social media users to  “stop spreading misinformation, hatred, and propaganda,” adding, “Don’t be mistaken into thinking Pakistan will do nothing.”

Actor and director Yasir Hussain also voiced his concerns, stating, “Just as India is a nuclear power, Pakistan also has an atomic bomb. Spreading hatred will have bad consequences, for which the Indians will be responsible.”

He pointed out that “Indian YouTubers, bloggers, and media figures are busy spreading hateful and false information,” behaving as if Pakistan cannot respond.

Yasir Hussain made it clear: “Pakistanis may have political differences among themselves, but when it comes to the country, they are united, and they stand with the Pakistan Army on the issue of war.”

He also condemned the Pahalgam incident and expressed deep sorrow over the loss of human lives.

Similarly, actor Shamoon Abbasi also criticised the Indian media and the Modi government for spreading hatred. He said, “After the Pahalgam incident, the Indian media spread so much false news that they even declared a living couple dead — and later, the couple had to come forward themselves to confirm they were alive.”

According to Shamoon Abbasi, negative and hateful propaganda in India incited increased aggression among its people, with some even saying they would “enter Pakistan with bombs tied to their bodies.”

He recalled that “the Indian government had similarly spread hateful propaganda during the Pulwama attack in 2016.”

Addressing Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Shamoon Abbasi said, “You look bad when talking about terrorism because you yourself have been promoting terrorism.”

He added that “Modi has been spreading terrorism in occupied Kashmir for years, where innocent children, women, and youth are being killed.”

Abbasi compared India and Israel, calling them “two sides of the same coin,” and said, “The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has a long history of spreading terrorism and increasing problems.”

He also remarked, “Whenever a Pakistani actor goes to India for work, the BJP spreads propaganda — even when Hania Aamir and Fawad Khan visited India.”

Appealing to the Indian public, Shamoon Abbasi urged, “Wake up and understand the propaganda by your government and media. War is not the solution. Wars only destroy countries and nations.”

Singer and actor Farhan Saeed also expressed his anger over the Indian media’s behaviour, writing on Instagram, “If a war breaks out between the two countries, the Indian media will be responsible for it.”

Farhan added, “The Indian media has been doing such heinous propaganda in the past and will continue to do so. The Indian public needs to come to its senses.”

According to him, “If war breaks out due to such propaganda, the ones spreading hatred will run away — and it will be the common people who suffer.”

Singer Umair Jaswal also criticised the Indian media. Sharing a video of the couple wrongly declared dead, he called the Indian media’s behaviour “a game of the BJP.”

He wrote, “The couple who were declared dead had to shout and prove they were alive. This is how the Indian media continues its negative propaganda.”

  • ‘Marriage scares me more than protests or police,’ says Komal Aziz Khan

‘Marriage scares me more than protests or police,’ says Komal Aziz Khan

Renowned actress Komal Aziz Khan recently opened up about her fear of marriage during her appearance on Nida Yasir’s morning show, where she candidly discussed personal experiences and societal pressures.

When asked what scares her the most, Komal said, “I’m not afraid of anything, I’m very brave, but I’m afraid of marriage.” She explained that this fear is the reason she hasn’t married yet.

Sharing the reason behind her hesitation, she stated, “I haven’t seen good marriages around me, and that’s what makes me afraid of getting married.”

She added, “I can do anything, I can face mobs, I can even argue with the police, I can participate in protests. But marriage? That scares me.”

On the impact of marriage on women’s careers, she said, “Many girls in my office work really well, but after marriage, they have to leave their jobs. They’re not even allowed to work on their own terms.”

She expressed her disappointment with societal norms that discourage women from continuing their professional lives after getting married. “Girls who work hard, who build a name for themselves before marriage, are often forced to give it all up after they tie the knot,” she said.

The actress added, “I haven’t seen any ideal marriages in my family or social circle. They weren’t terrible, but they weren’t good enough to make me believe that marriage is the ultimate goal.”

Reflecting on how marriage is often glamourised, she said, “All the excitement about clothes, salons, and events is just for the first few weeks. After that, real life begins, and that’s the tough part.”

She concluded by saying, “From the beginning, I wanted to be financially and emotionally independent and strong; that’s why I didn’t get married.” However, she hinted at a possible change in perspective, adding, “Now, my fear of marriage is getting better gradually.”
