Noor slams her neighbours for complaining to DHA about her charity work

Noor Bukhari, a former actress who transitioned from the entertainment industry to a more spiritual path, has recently found herself at the centre of an unexpected dispute.Known for her commitment to religious principles, Noor has been actively involved in charitable work, including providing food to those in need. However, her act of kindness has seemingly upset some of her neighbours.

In an Instagram post, Noor revealed that she had received an official notice from the DHA authorities warning her against distributing food in front of her home. The notice stated:

“It has been noted that food distribution is taking place in front of your residence, causing disturbances to neighboring residents. You are advised to cease this activity immediately. Non-compliance may lead to necessary action in accordance with DHA regulations.”

Clearly disheartened, Noor expressed her disappointment on Instagram, directly addressing those who reported her:

“How wonderful my neighbors are! Does halting food distribution for those in need bring you joy and satisfaction? I can always find another location to distribute, but what have you achieved from this? I have received this notice because they had a problem with feeding the poor.”

Her post quickly gained traction, sparking an online debate. Many rallied to her side, criticising the insensitivity of those who opposed assisting the less fortunate. Supporters praised her efforts and questioned whether minor inconveniences should outweigh the moral duty to help those in need.

However, not everyone agreed with Noor’s stance. Some argued that residential rules exist for a reason and that haqooq-ul-ibaad (the rights of people) should be considered before engaging in such activities.

“Neighbors’ rights should be prioritized. If it’s bothering them, it’s reasonable to move the distribution elsewhere,” one user remarked. Others suggested that instead of distributing food in public spaces, she should collaborate with a welfare organisation to ensure smoother and more organised assistance for the underprivileged.

  • ‘People are starving, not fasting’; Bushra Ansari lashes out at Ramazan transmissions

‘People are starving, not fasting’; Bushra Ansari lashes out at Ramazan transmissions

Renowned actress Bushra Ansari has raised concerns over the growing trend of Ramazan transmissions on various news channels, claiming that they have shifted people’s focus away from worship.

The veteran star recently shared a vlog on her YouTube channel, where she spoke about the impact of the transmissions while preparing for Iftar.

“Every other channel is running the same Ramadan transmissions. They used to happen before as well, but back then, people didn’t watch them as much. Those were better times,” the veteran comedian said.

Pointing out that now people watch them with great interest, Bushra saus, “Even I sometimes sit in these transmissions, and they entertain people. They probably feel good, and it helps pass the fast comfortably.”

However, she then pointed out the downside of the growing trend, “I believe that when we didn’t have these transmissions, we used to worship more. With no other distractions, we would recite the Quran and engage in Tasbeeh.”

She further added, “Back then, fasting didn’t feel like mere hunger. But now, without worship, without reciting the Quran or Tasbeeh, and just by watching Ramadan transmissions, fasting is no longer about true devotion—it’s just about starving.”

Her statements have sparked a debate on social media, with many discussing whether Ramadan transmissions bring people closer to faith or simply serve as entertainment.

  • ‘Critics don’t need to be actors to judge you’; Raheel Rao claps back at Danish Taimoor

‘Critics don’t need to be actors to judge you’; Raheel Rao claps back at Danish Taimoor

Editor-in-chief of DIVA magazine, Raheel Rao, has addressed Danish Taimoor’s recent comments on drama critics, offering a thoughtful perspective on the significance of criticism in the entertainment industry.

On Instagram, Rao wrote an open letter to Danish, acknowledging his journey from modelling to acting while questioning his views on criticism.

“Dear Danish, I have closely followed your journey. Your shift from modeling to acting has been impressive, and we all greatly admire your growth as an actor. It’s perfectly fine if you don’t place much importance on critics (or their critiques). However, to dismiss them by saying, ‘Woh banda jiska acting se door door tak koi talluq nahi, woh kaise acting ke baare mein baat kar sakta hai?’ feels inappropriate,” expressed Rao.

He elaborated that critics worldwide are typically not actors themselves but rather evaluators who analyse performances for audiences.

“Just like a food critic isn’t required to be a chef to evaluate a dish, or a sports analyst isn’t obliged to be an athlete to analyze a game, drama critics don’t need to be performers to critique acting. Disregarding feedback based on the source instead of engaging with the content weakens the dialogue,” he continued.

Rao’s response was prompted by Danish Taimoor’s recent remarks on Mehfil-e-Ramzan, where he openly dismissed online critiques of his acting choices, stating, “I don’t even pay attention to them. That’s their job; they seek attention. Honestly, I don’t care, and my fans don’t care either.”

While acknowledging that criticism is part of the entertainment field, Danish questioned the merit of all opinions. He argued that critiques should come from individuals who understand the craft, stating, “When I critique something, I do so with a thorough understanding of this industry. But if someone with no acting background scrutinises performances, how does that make sense?”

His comments sparked an intense debate online, with many pointing out the irony of actors voicing opinions on topics beyond their expertise—such as politics, fashion, or sports—yet reacting negatively when the situation is reversed. Others noted that Danish has consistently faced criticism for portraying similar roles in dramas, a concern many view as legitimate rather than mere negativity.

While some fans defended him, agreeing that critiques should be based on knowledge rather than attention-seeking, Rao’s response has shifted the conversation. His argument that criticism is an essential part of storytelling—regardless of the critic’s background—has resonated widely.

  • Colombian influencer puts pizzazz into recycling

Colombian influencer puts pizzazz into recycling

Colombian influencer Sara Samaniego braids her long straight hair, checks her make-up in a mirror, places her phone in the centre of a ring light and flashes a big smile for the camera.

“Hola mis recicla-amores [Hello my recycling loves]!” the 32-year-old, who is on a mission to teach Colombians how to sort their waste, says to greet her half-a-million Instagram followers. Samaniego, who wears blue overalls and a baseball cap on backwards as part of her “Marce, la recicladora” (Marce, the recycler) social media alter ego, has also become an unofficial spokeswoman for the 74,000 people who rummage through the garbage of Latin America’s fourth-biggest economy every day.

Colombian cities have no public recycling systems. Instead, they rely on informal waste pickers to go through bins and garbage left out for collection to salvage cardboard, glass, plastic and other reusable materials.

Across the world, between 20 and 34 million people play a crucial role in environmental protection by collecting and sorting waste recyclables — dirty, dangerous work for which most are paid a pittance.

Throughout the developing world, waste pickers can be seen pulling carts laden high with bric-a-brac through dense traffic. Samaniego tries to boost their visibility by profiling waste pickers on her YouTube and Instagram accounts.

She “encourages people to understand the work of recyclers from the inside,” Zoraya Avendano, the manager of a warehouse where the recyclers sell their wares for a few pesos, said.

  • Model Aseela exposes photographer Kamil Javaid with shocking evidence of harassment

Model Aseela exposes photographer Kamil Javaid with shocking evidence of harassment

Photographer Kamil Javaid has been accused of inappropriate behavior and harassment after model Aseela publicly shared disturbing WhatsApp messages and a call recording. The revelations have sparked outrage on Instagram, with many demanding accountability in the fashion industry.

Aseela exposed the conversation on Instagram, revealing how Kamil initially approached her for a photoshoot in Skardu for a well-known brand. While the discussion began professionally, it soon took an unsettling turn when he insisted on a personal “meetup” before finalizing the project.

Kamil pushed for a meeting, asking, “Meetup kab ho sakta (When can we meetup?)”

When Aseela questioned the necessity of meeting in person, he vaguely responded: “If you easy then we meet otherwise no issue.”

Growing suspicious, Aleesa pressed further: “Why should I meet you?”

Kamil’s reply was cryptic: “Aap bhi jaanti hain sab.”

The situation escalated when Aseela recorded their phone call. In the audio, Kamil was heard suggesting to meet her at a hotel, struggling to justify why it was necessary. His nervous hesitation raised serious red flags. He further stated: “Aap meri reference se hain, is liye maine bhi toh aapko kaam dilwaya hai… mujhe bhi toh kuch milna chahiye (You were my reference. I got you work. I should also get something.)”

Aseela took to Instagram to expose the conversation, writing: “I feel like everybody has to see this face of the industry as well! I’m not saying all of them are the same, but a few people are destroying the image of this profession!”

She also tagged major fashion brands like Nishat Linen, Khaadi, and Maria B., urging them to take responsibility for those misusing their names. “The fact that I was laughing is because they think just because I dress up boldly, I will be the easiest catch for them, and that is completely wrong. CHARACTER HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WHAT YOU WEAR! Which men fail to understand daily!”

    Industry Reacts: Calls for Accountability

Comedian Tamkenat slammed the industry’s misogyny, stating: “Men think that just because a woman wears ‘western’ clothes for a shoot, she must be easy. Brands like @khaadi @nishatlinen must address this issue as this predator is using their name to exploit young women.”

Other women came forward with similar experiences.

Model Dr. Nazam Baloch shared: m”My modeling career lasted six months because of men like him. A photographer working with Outfitters asked me to create a new portfolio, then told me to remove my shirt. When I refused, he took off his pants. I ran away and quit modeling.”

Social media exploded with reactions: “The way he kept clearing his throat—felt like shoving a danda down his throat! Thank you for exposing him. He must never work again!”

“WHAT?! This is disgusting! Jahil aadmi.”

“Brave and powerful! More power to you!”

“So glad women are speaking up! Hold them accountable!”

Following the backlash, Aleesa clarified that while Kamil Javaid may not be an official Nishat representative, he has worked with multiple brands—raising urgent questions about the vetting processes.

“Even if he’s not their main photographer, he must be held accountable. Brands need to be extremely careful when selecting their teams!”

The scandal has reignited conversation about the exploitation of women in the fashion industry, with growing demands for stricter policies to prevent predators from using their influence unchecked.

Aleesa’s bold move has exposed a disturbing reality, pushing the industry to take a firm stand against harassment and ensure a safer, more ethical environment for models and artists.

  • Kim Soo-hyun cut from Good Day amid backlash over Kim Sae-ron controversy

Kim Soo-hyun cut from Good Day amid backlash over Kim Sae-ron controversy

South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun has been removed from the variety show Good Day following severe audience disapproval concerning his connection with actress Kim Sae-ron, who has been embroiled in controversy. This decision was made in response to escalating criticism, leading the producers to cut Soo-hyun’s segments from upcoming episodes.

The dispute arises from Kim Sae-ron’s previous legal troubles, particularly a DUI case that harmed her reputation; this incident occurred in 2022 when she faced charges for drunk driving, and as a result of the negative impact on her image, she was cut from the show Blood Hounds. Tragically, in February 2025, exactly on Kim Soo-hyun’s birthday, she was found dead at her home.

Although Soo-hyun is not directly involved, his association with Sae-ron triggered a negative reaction from viewers. The backlash intensified after trailers of the show featuring both actors were released, resulting in demands for Soo-hyun’s removal.

The production team, consequently, chose to mitigate potential backlash by excluding Soo-hyun’s footage from the final airings. Initially, the actor had recorded several segments for Good Day, but after assessing public opinion, the creators decided on significant edits. The broadcasting network confirmed this decision, stating their intention to heed audience feedback and maintain a positive reception for the show.

While this move has sparked mixed reactions, some fans argue that Soo-hyun is being unfairly penalised for a scandal he was not involved in. Conversely, others believe the decision was justified considering the sensitivity surrounding Kim Sae-ron’s past actions and the need for networks to be mindful of public sentiment.

Kim Soo-hyun, a leading figure in South Korean entertainment, has enjoyed a largely controversy-free career, starring in well-received dramas such as It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, My Love from the Star, and Queen of Tears. His removal from Good Day raises concerns about the extent to which public opinion can influence entertainment decisions, even for those uninvolved in scandals.

This incident highlights the increasing scrutiny faced by South Korean celebrities, where any association—intentional or not—can lead to significant career consequences. For now, Good Day will air without Kim Soo-hyun’s segments, and the network hopes these changes will help ease the ongoing controversy.

As the situation unfolds, fans remain divided on whether this decision was justified or an excessive reaction to public sentiment. Meanwhile, Kim Soo-hyun has yet to release an official statement regarding his removal from the show.

  • ‘I still have the right’; Danish Taimoor’s remarks on four marriages spark debate

‘I still have the right’; Danish Taimoor’s remarks on four marriages spark debate

During a Ramazan TV transmission, renowned actor Danish Taimoor’s remarks about men being allowed to marry four times sparked an intense debate on social media.

Speaking alongside former news anchor Rabia Anam, Danish commented, “Permission for four marriages has been granted, but I am not doing it yet, that’s a different story. I won’t do it because I love and respect my wife, even though I still have the right.”

Many viewers criticized his statement, calling it unnecessary and insensitive, especially since his wife, actress Ayeza Khan, was present during the segment.

One social media user pointed out, “Why even mention this when your wife is sitting right there? This was uncomfortable to watch.”

Others highlighted that while Islam permits up to four marriages, it is under specific conditions. “Men always remember their right to marry four times, but they conveniently forget the conditions,” one user pointed out.

Danish Taimoor previously expressed happiness with his marriage to Ayeza Khan, stating that he had no plans for a second marriage.

Despite his clarification, critics argued that his comments reinforced problematic mindsets and lacked sensitivity.

Danish and Ayeza, who tied the knot in 2014, are one of Pakistan’s most adored celebrity couples and parents to two children. While the actor has not responded to the backlash, the controversy has left many questioning the relevance and appropriateness of his statement on a public platform.
