  • Sara Khan’s claim that brand is ‘affordable’ prompts backlash

Sara Khan’s claim that brand is ‘affordable’ prompts backlash

Renowned actress Sara Khan is facing criticism after describing her clothing brand as ‘affordable.

Sara recently launched her clothing brand, Aliyana Falak, named after her daughter, and promoted it during an appearance on a private TV morning show alongside her.

During the show, she stated that her brand was within the reach of the general public. However, her remark sparked backlash, with social media users accusing her of being out of touch with reality.

Many digital influencers and Instagram pages criticised her claim, arguing that the prices of her clothing line are far beyond the reach of the general public.

Users flooded social media with sarcastic comments. One person wrote, “She is indirectly calling us poor!” while another said, “After listening to Sara Khan, I’ve started to realize my poverty even more.”

Adding to the controversy, an Instagram user shared a video showing a picture of an unstitched three-piece dress from Sara Khan’s brand, priced at 20,000 rupees. The video further fuelled the criticism, with users questioning how such prices could be considered “affordable.”

Despite the ongoing backlash, the actress has not yet responded to the criticism. However, the debate over her statement continues to trend on social media.

  • ‘I don’t even pay attention’; Danish Taimoor dismisses criticism on his roles

‘I don’t even pay attention’; Danish Taimoor dismisses criticism on his roles

Pakistani actor and host Danish Taimoor has recently spoken out about the criticism that celebrities often face, making it clear that he remains unfazed by online critiques. In a conversation during his Ramzan show Mehfil-e-Ramzan on Green TV, Adnan Faisal inquired about how he handles ongoing criticism.

Danish, recognised for his straightforward demeanour, responded with conviction, stating, “I don’t even pay attention to them [critics]. It’s their job; they do it for attention. I genuinely don’t care, and believe me, my fans don’t care either.”

What was particularly noteworthy was his deeper perspective on the validity of critiques. While he acknowledged that criticism is part of the entertainment industry, he questioned whether every opinion is deserving of attention. He further explained, “I’ve been a part of this industry for 18 years. I began acting in 2008, so I understand the entire system—how things function behind the scenes, the obstacles actors encounter, and the dedication that goes into our craft.”

Danish suggested that critiques should stem from a place of knowledge rather than mere observation. He remarked, “When I criticise something, I do so with a comprehensive understanding of how this industry works. But if someone without a background in acting picks apart performances, how does that make any sense?”

His comments have ignited a lively discussion on social media. Many pointed out that actors themselves often weigh in on topics ranging from fashion to sports and politics, yet they seem to take issue when viewers critique them.

Others noted that Danish has faced criticism for opting for similar roles in dramas, which they deem a legitimate concern. Nonetheless, some supporters defended him, arguing that he is correct—criticism should be contextualised and rooted in understanding rather than made simply for engagement.

  • Alizeh Shah, Zarnish Khan feud intensifies despite reconciliation efforts

Alizeh Shah, Zarnish Khan feud intensifies despite reconciliation efforts

Alizeh Shah and Zarnish Khan have found themselves at the centre of controversy after a seemingly lighthearted remark on a talk show escalated into a heated exchange. What started as casual banter soon led to apologies, but Alizeh’s refusal to forgive has kept the drama unfolding.

It all started when Zarnish Khan, who has taken a step back from the entertainment industry to adopt a more private lifestyle, appeared on Voice Over Man with Wajahat Rauf. When asked a playful question regarding who would win in a fight between her and Alizeh Shah, Zarnish immediately replied, “If it’s a competition, Alizeh would definitely win.”

While the response may have seemed harmless to some, it clearly upset Alizeh Shah, as her mother instantly called Zarnish after the episode aired, asking why she had made such comments about her daughter. In response, Zarnish assured her that she would make a video clarifying the truth, but just 30 minutes after the call, she blocked Alizeh’s mother.

Zarnish also contacted Alizeh through Instagram DM to apologise. In her message, she expressed sincere regret, labelling her comment as “silly” and “thoughtless,” made in the spur of the moment. She even offered to make a public apology if that would help Alizeh forgive her. “I genuinely want to apologize to your mom,” Zarnish included, acknowledging that her words had affected Alizeh’s family.

Nonetheless, Alizeh was not inclined to let it go. In her reply, she bluntly told Zarnish that an apology wouldn’t mend the harm done.  “I do not forgive you. What have I ever done to you? I never behaved rudely toward you. You weren’t even being paid to talk shit about me, yet you chose to,” she stated.

The situation intensified when Alizeh took to her Instagram stories to discuss the matter publicly. She disclosed that her mother had personally contacted Zarnish on the day the show aired, distressed and inquiring why she had made such comments. According to Alizeh, Zarnish initially assured her mother that she would make a video to clarify things, but shortly afterwards, she blocked her mother’s number.

“I still recall how helpless my mom felt that day. Her voice trembled on that call, and you blocked her so she couldn’t ask you to apologize again?” Alizeh wrote, voicing her disappointment. She criticised the industry culture where “elders act childishly on shows while spreading complaints and lies under the guise of professionalism.”

In her concluding statement, Alizeh emphasised that she has never spoken negatively about anyone online and that the only person she confides in is her mother, and she confides in God.

Although Zarnish’s efforts for reconciliation were rebuffed, the controversy has rekindled discussions surrounding celebrity conflicts, the effects of words, and the need for public figures to be more cautious with their statements—especially in a time when a single remark can ignite days of online turmoil.

In a short video posted on her Instagram Story, Saheefa told her maid, “Some people are saying that I gave you money for nothing and that I shouldn’t have given it to you.”

In response, the maid happily said, “Saheefa considers me like a sister, that’s why she gave me so much money.”

A First Information Report (FIR), which was filed today (Saturday) at Shahdra Police Station Lahore against Naseebo’s husband Naveed Hussain, stated, “At 5 PM, I was sitting in the courtyard of my house when my husband, Naveed Hussain, came home. As soon as he arrived, he started insulting me.”

“He often argues and fights with me, but today he hit me with a brick, severely insulted me, and physically abused me, which is a serious violation,” the FIR says, adding that legal action should be taken against him.

In the FIR, she alleged that her husband “wanted to put my property documents, cash, and farmhouse in his name” and that “the accused wanted to usurp a 9- kanal plot.”

However, according to the actress, following her refusal, “He [Bashir] subjected me to assault, repeatedly punched me in the face with an official pistol, tortured me in front of household staff and my nephew, and locked me in a room.”

As per the police, she was allegedly assaulted by her husband in Lahore’s Defence C area. “After the quarrel, she also came to the police station last night but has not filed any complaint yet,” the police added.
