Social media in frenzy after realising Mariyam Nafees’ husband was Bushra Ansari’s son-in-law

Actress Mariyam Nafees has been in headlines since after her maternity photoshoot went viral. However, amid all the wishes and prayers, her husband Amaan Ahmed’s past has sent social media into frenzy as some netizens fail to let the couple keep its private life private.

As per the details, social media users are losing it over the revelation that Ahmed was previously married, and was the son-in-law of veteran Pakistani actress Bushra Ansari. The revelation came as Nafees shared a picture of her passport during her trip to the United States (US) for the birth of her child.

While some chose to criticise her, suggesting she was “seeking citizenship for her baby”, one user went on to claim that her husband was already an American and the ex-husband of Bushra Ansari’s daughter.

Media outlets were quick to begin fixating on the revelation and report that Ahmed got married to Meera Ansari in early 2000s and have two children with her.

The marriage, reports said, did not last long and in November 2020, Meera remarried in New York.

It merits a mention that Ansari has often expressed regret over her daughters’ first marriages but has also mentioned that Meera’s second husband is very supportive and honourable.

Amaan Ahmed married Nafees in 2022. The couple is now expecting their first child.

  • This might be the most copied Pakistani song ever

This might be the most copied Pakistani song ever

We know that Pakistan and India can’t resist plagiarising or being inspired by each other’s songs but there’s one song that has perhaps influenced more ditties than all others.

Indian radio jockey Sachin Sahabi, host of the popular Instagram handle heysachin, released a video a few days ago, outlining the numerous copies and versions that Pakistani legend Musarat Nazir’s Ahista Ahista has given birth to.

The first version he lists was Tumhain Apna Bananay Ki Qasm from the 90s Bollywood hit Sadak, starring Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt. Sachin mentions that music composers Nadeem- Shravan used the music but didn’t give credit to Nazir’s original.

He then shows a clip of another song, from Indian film Hate Story, released in 2015, that also plagiarised the tune.

Sachin then says that he grew up listening to Musarat Nazir’s music. “My mom had a cassette of her shaadi songs,” he said and then plays her wedding superhit Chitta Kukar.

He then states that he loves Kazinama’s version of Ahista Ahista. He also calls Atif Aslam’s version, released a few years ago, “stunning”.

There you have it. Who knew Musarat Nazir’s old hit will have so many reincarnations. Here’s to hoping we get to hear new versions of the immortal tune again and again.

‘Garam paani nahi aa raha tha’: Feroze Khan’s exchange with journalist draws mixed reactions

Mixed reactions have poured in on social media over actor Feroze Khan’s exchange with journalist Ambreen Fatima after being called out for showing up late at a press conference.

As per the details, the event was scheduled for 3 PM but started around 5:30 PM because of Feroze’s late arrival. Ambreen, who was among the journalists present, called out the actor for his lack of professionalism and stressed the need to be punctual.

Feroze, however, jokingly responded that he had no warm water at home, which had caused the delay.

Nonetheless, Ambreen dismissed his justification, pointing out that many media representatives had left disappointed after waiting for hours. She also emphasised that the media plays a major role in celebrities’ success, to which someone added that fans do as well, and the journalist agreed.

However, Feroze interrupted, saying that the media had been against him for the past three years, which prompted applause from the audience.

Here’s how social media is reacting to the exchange:

One user wrote, “A “man” couldn’t digest being questioned by a “woman.” Her time is as important as his time. If she can be professional, who is stopping him from doing the same. The audacity.”

Another said, “People like this for real doesn’t deserve the fame kudos to the women for standing up”

A user also pointed at the support of Feroze Khan from the audience, saying, “Why’s everyone hooting on this unprofessional behavior”.

One added, “He does not have the common decency to let the other person even finish saying what she is saying!”

Some of the actor’s supporters, however, joined in his defence, saying, “First of all, he apologized for being late as soon as he arrived and secondly paani nhi aa raha tha yaar ‍♀️”

Another added, “He apologized for being late as soon as he reached there so there was no need to create unnecessary drama by the reporter.”

The press conference was part of Feroze Khan’s promotion for his upcoming boxing match with YouTuber Raheem Pardesi.

B Praak ditches BeerBiceps’ podcast after controversial jokes

Singer B Praak has refused to appear on influencer Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, criticising him for his “pathetic thinking” after a controversial remark on a reality show sparked outrage.

Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, faced backlash for his comment about “parents and sex” on comedian Samay Raina’s YouTube show India’s Got Latent.

He has 10.5 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, where he hosts the podcast The Ranveer Show.

The clip went viral, leading to heavy criticism. He later apologised and requested the show’s creators to remove the segment.

In an Instagram video, Praak said, “I was supposed to be on BeerBiceps’ podcast, but we cancelled it. The words he used on Samay Raina’s show were unacceptable.”

“This is not our Indian culture. What story are you telling about your parents? What are you even talking about? Is this comedy? This is not at all comedy. Abusing people, teaching people how to abuse, what kind of generation (is this)? I don’t understand,” he said.

The controversy has escalated, with a BJP functionary filing a police complaint against Allahbadia, Raina, and the show’s participants. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has also called for action, while the National Commission for Women (NCW) is reviewing the matter.

However, Samay Raina has yet to respond to the controversy.

And in true Rakhi style, she wasn’t done with her demands: “Where is Wasim Akram? Bring him too! Because Wasim Akram said, ‘Rakhi, whenever you come to Pakistan, we will welcome you.’”

At this point, Pakistanis on social media were thoroughly entertained, with many jokingly offering to deliver her long-awaited halwa puri.

The actor confirmed that the intruder was hiding inside Jeh’s room and domestic help first spotted him around 2 am. Saif also confirmed claims that the man was armed with a knife and hexa blade while he himself was bare-handed.

When asked about his kids’ reactions to the shocking incident, the actor revealed that Jeh gifted him a plastic sword and said, “Keep this by your bed for the next time the chor [thief] comes.”

“Taimur is a little concerned about security. Sara was very emotional and so was Ibrahim… more than he normally is. He was there and has been spending a lot of time with me. It’s been really kind of nice for the family to come together, but also obviously, a bit of a shock for everyone,” Saif told the outlet.

The accused, Shariful Islam Shehzad, told cops that he scaled the wall to enter the compound of the 12-floor building the actor lives in.

The security guards, according to reports, were asleep and the intruder used air-conditioning ducts to enter the actor’s home.

A viral screen grab from the CCTV cameras installed at the fire exit showed the intruder fleeing the scene following the attack.

Indian influencer calls Mawra’s dress ‘tacky’?

Indian fashion influencer Sufi Motiwala, known for his commentary on celebrity outfits, recently sparked controversy with his critique of Pakistani actor Mawra’s wedding look shortly after she tied the knot with actor Ameer Gilani.

In a video, he called the fabric of Mawra’s lehenga “tacky” and “questionable.”

Pakistani stylist Zahra Sarfraz did not hold back in responding, calling Sufi “tacky” for his limited appreciation of fashion.

“What I find truly tacky is living outside the world of originality, sticking to two to three designers, making yourself feel better with that one label,” she remarked in her counter-video.

She also took the opportunity to educate the Indian influencer and his followers on the sentimental value behind Mawra’s wedding attire. She explained that the Sanam Teri Kasam actor had built her entire bridal look around her mother-in-law’s dupatta.
