‘What kind of content is this?’ Hina Bayat slams media for twisting her words

Social media can take anyone’s statement and twist it into something that holds no similarity with the original.

Senior actress Hina Bayat issued an explanatory statement after a controversy erupted over her comments on dresses. She clarified that she did not mention Hania Aamir and Yashma Gill in her original statement. However, some media outlets, including Diva Magazine and Galaxy Lollywood, hinted in their reporting that Hina was talking about the two actresses.

In her video, Hina Bayat expressed her frustration with certain social media platforms that take statements out of context and sensationalize them. She said, “Such social media pages do not have any content of their own but take what someone said from anywhere and do not see what was said and how it was happening and make it viral by making headlines.”

She further explained that these outlets gain views by naming popular personalities, leading to misunderstandings and hurt feelings. “What kind of content is it to hurt people’s hearts? You attribute something to someone that they did not even say,” she added.

Hina Bayat admitted that she had indeed commented on current fashion trends, saying, “Traditional attire is not seen anywhere these days. Nowadays, even pashminas and angarkhas are not seen anywhere, so now along with lehengas and ghararas, even kameezs are not seen anywhere.” She clarified that her statement was not directed at Hania Aamir and Yashma Gill.

“I am not God and God forbid that I judge anyone, but God will judge you who are giving a different color to the matter to increase your views. May God guide us all and protect us from all kinds of evil,” Hina Bayat emphasized.

Earlier, Hania Aamir and Yashma Gill were seen dancing at Gill’s younger sister’s wedding in stylish outfits. The actors wore short cholis and flared lehengas, and their dance moves went viral online. However, some people criticized their outfits, and Hina Khawaja Bayat was mistakenly thought to be one of them.

“I was wondering if people have forgotten something called a kameez,” Bayat allegedly commented on a video of the pair dancing shared by blogger Afia Qazi. This statement led to backlash from Sindh Assembly member Sharmila Faruqui, who urged Bayat to “live and let live.”

Faruqui wrote in an Instagram story, “Stop judging women with their choice in clothing. If that’s the case then all men should wear sherwanis and not suits.”

It’s 2025, and dragging other women down based on their clothing choices is absolutely ridiculous. Women should be able to wear whatever they want. Period.

  • Want to go watch Coldplay in Abu Dhabi next week? This is how much you’ll pay now

Want to go watch Coldplay in Abu Dhabi next week? This is how much you’ll pay now

If you are planning to attend Coldplay’s highly anticipated concert at Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi, here’s everything you need to know. The global favourite band will perform as part of their Music of the Spheres world tour, with shows starting from January 09 to 14 January 2025.

However, some Pakistani fans are facing a frustrating problem with visa issues, making their dream of attending the concert difficult.

    Why are Visas being rejected?

Although the UAE government hasn’t officially banned visas for Pakistan national, challenges remain in obtaining one. During a Senate Standing Committee meeting, Senator Zeeshan Khanzada revealed that UAE visa restrictions are mainly due to a drop in demand for unskilled labor, not skilled workers. However many Pakistani travelers still face uncertainty, with visa approval chances being only 50-50.

The Current reached out to a travel agent, who explained the process of getting a visa to attend Coldplay’s concert in AbuDhabhi.

He stated that applicants need to provide a passport scan, CNIC, one picture, hotel reservation, and an original Emirates flight ticket. The visa fees is PKR 33, 400 and is nonrefundable.

However, the agent emphasized that even after fulfilling all these requirement, getting the visa is not certain. There is a 50-50 chance for approval.

Fatima, die heart fan of Coldplay, expressed her frustration to The Current. She bought two ticket for 450 dollar but faced heartbreak when her visa application was rejected twice.

Frustrated by visa troubles, fans are now selling their tickets online.

One fan posted on Facebook saying, “Hi! I have 3 tickets for coldplay abu Dhabi 12th Jan! Can’t attend myself because of visa restrictions. DM me for details.”

If you’re planning to go, make sure you meet all travel requirements and prepare for potential visa challenges.

Fans in Pakistan are rushing to secure visas, while tickets for Coldplay’s Abu Dhabi concerts continue to sell quickly. If you’re planning to go, make sure you meet all travel requirements and prepare for potential visa challenges.

Earlier, British rock band Coldplay’s upcoming tour of India has triggered a police investigation and dismayed fans after scalpers bought up cheap tickets to resell online for more than $1,000 apiece.

Thousands of music fans tried and failed to buy tickets for three concerts scheduled in financial hub Mumbai next January, sold by popular Indian online ticket portal BookMyShow.

All three shows sold out in minutes, and those who missed out were infuriated when they saw $70 (6,000-rupee) tickets appear on resale websites at vastly inflated prices.

Fraud allegations rock Reema: Qatari man claims multi-million rupee scam

Trusting strangers with your money is like trusting a cat to guard your fish—it rarely ends well.

A man from Qatar has filed a fraud case against renowned Pakistani actress Reema Khan.

Shahid Rafique recently told a YouTube channel named Pakistan Kahbar TV at the Lahore Press Club, that he had returned to Lahore from Qatar in 2009 to buy property. “At the bank where I transferred my money, I met Reema Khan’s sister, Maira Khan, a realtor.”

He said, “Maira Khan asked me what I wanted to do with the money. I told her that I wanted to buy a plot here. She showed me some plots and said that she also deals in buying and selling property.”

He continued, “When I saw the plot, she said that my sister Reema Khan is making a film Love Mein Ghum, so you should invest Rs 50 to 60 lakhs for five or six months with your money and assured me that I would get profit.”

When he agreed, he got to  hold a meeting with Reema Khan, after which he transferred the money for the film. “Later, Reema Khan’s sister started demanding more money,” he claimed, adding that Reema  called him to Malaysia where the main cast was present for the shooting of the film. “I also stayed in the hotel with the cast for 20 to 25 days. When the shooting was completed, instead of giving my money back, more money was demanded from me.”

He alleged that Reema entered into an agreement with him, and claimed to have evidence and bank statements.”

He says that later, instead of giving him the money, Reema Khan claimed 200 million in damages from him, saying that he was a fraud. He then took the case to civil court where the judge gave a written decision that, “It was Reema Khan who defrauded me of two crore and 10 Lakh.”

Shahid Rafique further mentioned: “Reema Khan lost the case in the civil and sessions courts and has now taken a stay order from the High Court.” He added, “Reema Khan has been summoned by the court but is taking respite by applying for delaying case.”
He is confident that he will win the case in the High Court as wel

  • Indian singer served legal notice for calling Gandhi ‘father of Pakistan’

Indian singer served legal notice for calling Gandhi ‘father of Pakistan’

Indian singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya is a known bigot with a particular hatred for Pakistan. It seems that the bigot singer has now been served a dose of his own medicine.

Pune-based lawyer Asim Sarode has sent a legal notice to Abhijeet Bhattacharya over a controversial statement he made in a podcast. Abhijeet called Mahatma Gandhi the “father of Pakistan.”

According to Indian media, lawyer Asim Sarode sent the notice on behalf of his client Manish Deshpande, demanding an immediate apology from Abhijeet.

The notice states that if the singer does not apologize, a complaint will be registered against him under sections 353 (public disorder) and 356 (defamation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

During the podcast, Abhijeet compared Mahatma Gandhi to composer R.D. Burman and said, “Mahatma Gandhi is not the father of India but of Pakistan. India existed before that, Pakistan seceded from India later. Gandhi has been mistakenly called the father of India.”

The lawyer highlighted Gandhi’s services in the notice, saying that he worked tirelessly to promote Hindu-Muslim unity and brotherhood.

The lawyer added, “During the freedom movement, when the question of partition came up, Gandhiji had said, ‘India will be divided only by passing over my dead body. As long as I am alive, I will never accept partition.’”

This is not the first time that Abhijeet Bhattacharya has been in the news for his controversial statements. Recently, he criticized British singer Dua Lipa, saying that she did not give him credit while singing a song in Mumbai.

  • Saud blames Shaan, Syed Noor for ‘ruining’ Lollywood

Saud blames Shaan, Syed Noor for ‘ruining’ Lollywood

What really caused Lollywood’s downfall? How can a thriving industry turn desolate? Saud Qasmi, the star of many Lollywood hits, is clear about where he puts the blame.

“In my opinion, several people contributed to the downfall of Lollywood. Some of these people are no longer with us. Lollywood wasn’t completely destroyed, but the damage done to it was caused by Shaan and Syed Noor,” Saud said on Ahmed Ali Butt’s podcast.

The Baby Baji actor didn’t mince his words when asked who destroyed Lollywood, clearly naming superstar Shaan Shahid  and veteran filmmaker Syed Noor. “There were a few other directors as well, but these two were the main ones. If they had wanted, the industry could have progressed much further. Some unfortunate individuals only focused on their own business and work, neglecting the industry itself,” he pointed out.

The Gunnah actor also addressed the actions of the late Punjabi films legend Sultan Rahi, criticizing his approach during film production.

“Sultan Rahi used to save money by doing tasks meant for professionals. For example, instead of hiring a makeup artist for gunshot scenes, he would use red paint himself to simulate blood,” Saud narrated.

He didn’t hesitate to criticize Shaan, telling him to work on improving himself first.

“Before finding flaws in others, Shaan should address his own flaws,” Saud Qasmi remarked.

Reflecting on the past, the former Lollywood hero shared: “There was a time when our film industry and theirs were on equal footing. I’m talking about India and Pakistan. Both industries were equal. From here, we had Waheed Murad Sahab, and from there, they had Rajesh Khanna, both of a similar caliber.”

Lollywood, once centered in Lahore, thrived as a hub of film production from the 1970s until the early 2000s. By 2005, the industry shifted to Karachi, which has since become the center for both films and dramas.

You won’t  believe which actor is related to Allama Iqbal

What if the actor you admire on screen has a special family connection to Allama Iqbal? That’s exactly what actor Emmad Irfani has.

Appearing as a guest on Virsa Heritage Revive show hosted by Yousaf Salahuddin, the Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum actor revealed a surprise connection to one of Pakistan’s greatest national figures – Allama Iqbal.

Emmad Irfani disclosed, “Whenever I come to Yusuf Uncle’s place, it’s perhaps unknown to many of you, but we also have family connections.”

Yousaf Saluddin , Allama Iqbal’s grandson, shared further details, saying “ll tell you that Emmad’s great-grandmother was actually Allama Iqbal’s sister. So, this is a beautiful connection.”

While expressing his admiration for Virsa and the efforts to preserve Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage, he commented:

“Whenever I come here (Virsa Hertiage), I always learn something, and this beautiful gathering of heritage is something special. This is my first time being here. I had seen it on TV and YouTube. The contribution everyone is making to keep Pakistan’s culture and music alive is wonderful, and music is something everyone loves. For me, I have a deep love for music. It feels amazing to be here tonight.”

  • Twists, tensions, and unanswered questions: Aye Ishq-e-Junoon keeps viewers hooked

Twists, tensions, and unanswered questions: Aye Ishq-e-Junoon keeps viewers hooked

Drama nights are like mystery boxes—you never know if you’ll get shocking twists, heartfelt moments, or just an excuse to yell at your TV.

The latest episode of Aye Ishq-e-Junoon has us all on the edge of our seats. Rahim has been openly challenging Afia, taunting her in front of Ali Nawaz. But is he wise? And will Farooq eventually have to pick a side?

Rahim is determined to ensure no one comes between him and his father. He has made his intentions clear to Farooq.

Usually, long conversations can be boring, but this episode had a few that held our interest. The conversation between Rahim and Maheen’s father Mir Zulfiqar was engaging. Also, the chat between Afia and Rahim when she brought him coffee was intriguing.

The big question is whether Rahim will go to any extent and compromise his own values to regain his father’s respect and take his revenge.

“Rahim Ali Nawaz ne kabhi asaani se dushmani nahi ki, lekin aapka waqar aur aapka ikhlaq dekh kar soch raha hun dil khol kar aapki dushmani qubool karun…”

This dialogue heightened the tension, making us curious about how Rahim will retaliate against Mir Zulfiqar.

“Sastay shouq to mainay kabhi paalay bhi nahi, Maheen ko hee dekh lijiye”.
This dialogue was problematic, especially since Rahim had just claimed he still respected Maheen.

Mir Zulfiqar’s lawyer is trying to get Aimen to admit that Rahim is the killer. It seems everyone believes Rahim is the culprit, but they need solid proof to nail the case against him.

Farooq is trying to keep both sides happy, but as the case heats up, he might have to pick a side. His conversation with Afia made us question his loyalty. Will he prioritize making Ali Nawaz happy and saving his sister, or Ali Nawaz is confusing us. He believes Rahim is the culprit but masterminded his release from jail. Why did he ignore Rahim when he came back home and why is he not talking to him properly?

Shuja Asad is being underutilized as Shehroze. There is not much development in his story, which is a shame given his talent.

Does no one know about Aimen’s memory loss? Maybe Rahim suspects this, which is why he asked Farooq not to target Aimen. He also said that Aimen and he were the only ones who lost in this ordeal. Jamal knows for sure about Aimen’s memory loss, but why does she keep believing him and why is her father not questioning Jamal about his accusations?

  • Man arrested for supplying drugs to Liam Payne: Argentine police

Man arrested for supplying drugs to Liam Payne: Argentine police

Argentine police on Friday arrested one of the two men accused of supplying drugs to British singer Liam Payne before he fell to his death from his third-floor hotel room in Buenos Aires.

Braian Paiz, who is accused of having supplied cocaine to Payne, is one of five defendants indicted in connection with the death of the 31-year-old former One Direction pop star in October.

Three of the five were charged with manslaughter and the other two with supplying illegal drugs, prosecutors said earlier this week.

Prosecutors said Payne had consumed cocaine, alcohol and a prescription antidepressant before falling to his death from the balcony of his room at the Casa Sur Hotel.

Paiz, 24, is accused of supplying Payne with drugs two days before his death. His home has been searched, police sources said.

In November, Paiz denied in a television interview having given drugs to Payne, although he said that he met the pop star and spent time with him at his hotel.

Paiz denied taking money for the drugs, but the judge in the case said evidence suggested he had been paid.

Payne had spoken publicly about struggling with substance abuse and coping with fame from an early age.

His death prompted a global outpouring of grief from family, former bandmates and fans, with thousands gathering in cities around the world to offer their condolences.

One of the highest-grossing live acts in the world in the 2010s, One Direction went on indefinite hiatus in 2016.

Payne enjoyed some solo success before his career stalled.
