Veteran actress Resham has opened up about the powerful role of spirituality in her life.

Recently, the actress appeared as a guest on ‘Meri Maa’ hosted by Noor Ul Hassan, where she talked about Tahajjud.

“In life, I have only prayed five times, but I have never cut off my connection with Allah, Alhamdulillah, however, 15 months ago, I started praying Tahajjud,” Resham said.

The Gunjal actress also talked about the challenges she has faced, including being betrayed by people she trusted. Despite the difficulties, she found comfort in her faith: “I meet my Allah during the last third of the night and talk to Him about significant matters. I never complain to Him, even though I have faced many struggles. Allah, who loves me more than seventy mothers, has lifted me up from my hardships and given me strength and courage.”

Resham reflected on the concept of loss, saying, “When I talk about mothers, I believe that if Allah takes something away from you, He compensates you. This is why we say ‘Inna Lillah.’The biggest blessing in my life has been my mother. She always said, ‘It’s Allah’s property; entrust it to Allah.’”

Resham believes that those who leave us do not truly go away they remain with us, often reminding us their presence, “Since I learned that those who leave this world still have their blessings and contributions, I continue to pray for my parents and my brother. I regularly offer charity in their name and pray that whatever good I do for humanity reaches my parents and my brother. I have come to understand that those who pass away still have a continuous charity through their good deeds, and I hope that my brother and my parents are pleased with me whenever I do something for them. I trust that Allah accepts it,” the Terha Aangan actress stated

Arslan Khan opens up about tough times on Tamasha

Actor and model Arsalan Khan’s journey on Tamasha 3 was full ups and downs, but he ended up as the first runner up of the show.

Known for his introverted personality, Khan faced many challenges in Tamasha season 3.

Recently Arslan and his wife Hina Khan appeared as a guest on ‘Gup Shup with Fuchsia, where he talked about tough times in the reality show.

When asked if he understood the impact of being on the show,

Arslan admitted, “No, I didn’t have much idea that this was going to be so hard because, honestly, you can’t imagine it until you’re in that situation. I had seen the last show, but it looked fun. The thing is, fights can be very entertaining for the public. Obviously, there are arguments happening, but they take a very bad toll on our minds. I used to get so consumed by the fights there, and the kind of arguments and words used were intense.”

Reflecting on the intense environment of the show,

Arslan said, “It was so bad that if you heard the censor beep, you would realize how harsh the personal attacks were, and the language people used. The kind of actions people took were alarming. The Badashah salamat (Adnan Siddiqui) said that they were trying to respect you, and generally, I think it was important for the team that they had to come out of it. They maintained respect and reputation for themselves. So, I would like to congratulate them because people had forgotten that we have to come out of the show, and we have our lives here as well. They think that just by going in, they wouldn’t have any responsibilities, and they would show whatever they wanted.”

“As for me, I am a fan of Adnan Siddiqui. Siddiqui is very senior, and I really look up to him. The way he carries himself is unbelievable. His style, everything from his watch to the way he dresses and speaks, is very soft-spoken. Naturally, I am also a bit soft-spoken, so I feel that connection. He balances everything so well, giving leverage when needed and being strict when necessary. I absolutely love him and really look up to him. He always gave advice and explains in a way that you could grasp easily,” Arslan added.

Doraemon ke awaz khamosh hogayi: Woman behind the voice passes away

A Japanese actor who was the voice of “Doraemon”, a cartoon cat robot beloved by children in Japan and other countries has died, her agency said Friday. Nobuyo Oyama was 90.

For a quarter of a century until 2005, Oyama lent her endearingly hoarse voice to the titular blue feline from the 22nd century with his “magic pocket” and its supply of fantastical gadgets, including a door that lets you travel anywhere.

She “passed away on September 29 due to old age”, her talent agency told AFP. Her funeral was attended by close relatives, it said.

“Doraemon” is still on air as one of the longest-running Japanese anime series, popular across Asia and farther afield.

While Oyama’s successor has played the role for nearly two decades, her voice remains the definitive sound of the robot for many who grew up hearing it.

In “Doraemon”, the cuddly robot cat with its huge smile travels back in time to help a lazy schoolboy called Nobita overcome the trials of everyday life.

Created by the artist Fujiko F. Fujio, the character first appeared in manga strips in 1969, making the transition to the small and big screen over the following decades.

  • Saba Qamar joins UNICEF as Pakistan’s first national ambassador for child rights

Saba Qamar joins UNICEF as Pakistan’s first national ambassador for child rights

Actress Saba Qamar has been appointed UNICEF’s first national ambassador for child rights in Pakistan.

The announcement was made on the International Day of the Girl Child, on October 11 2024.

Saba said, “I am honored to join UNICEF and support their mission to ensure every child’s rights.”

Abdullah A. Fadil, who is serving as the Representative for UNICEF in Pakistan, tweeted: “Delighted to announce that Saba Qamar will join the UNICEF family as the first National Ambassador for Child Rights. Together we can make an even bigger difference in the lives of all children in . Welcome onboard @s_qamarzaman Thank you for sharing your powerful voice.”

While talking to Independent Urdu, Qamar said, “I have been in Karachi for three days now, and I visited a place where I met young girls, children, and women. I was happy to see that UNICEF has done a lot of work there, providing proper medicine and education. However, I still feel that these children need clean water and a safe environment. For this, I need the support of my nation and my people. When we work together, we can bring about change.”

The Serial Killer actress emphasized the importance of using her voice and platform for positive change, stating, “I believe we, especially as actors, are blessed people. Allah has given us everything, fame, name, and most importantly, a voice that people look up to. They want to see us and hear from us. If we talk about these issues and want to bring about change, they will support us.”

Saba also highlighted the urgent need to change the mindset surrounding child marriage, particularly in regions like Sujawal (Sindh).

“At this stage, children need love, security, and a sense of identity. If you marry off a child at this age, what will happen to her future? After a year or two, these girls become pregnant, and they face various complications during pregnancy that only they understand”, Qamar added.

Saba also said, “I met a girl named Anam who told me she was about to get married, there was a fire in her eyes, and I was so impressed by how UNICEF is raising awareness and educating these children. They are providing education centers, medicine, and teaching about good touch and bad touch, among other things.”

However, Saba acknowledged that many more areas in Pakistan need support and change saying, “I am happy to see how many girls are coming forward. Each girl represents a society, a family. When we educate one child, imagine how much change we can bring to society. I have seen a group of girls who had confidence, a fire in their eyes, and a desire to bring about change. They understood the difference between right and wrong, good and bad touch, and even spoke English. I was impressed that such positive change could happen in a small area like Sujawal.”
In Pakistan, child marriage is a major problem, with around 19 million girls married before the age of 18. Many of these girls faces serious health risk due to early pregnancies.

Zoheb wrote, “Nazia and Zoheb you have a telephone call from some gentleman by the name of Mr. Ratan”, my mother said while handing Nazia the phone. “My name is Ratan and I am starting a music company by the name of CBS India. I would like you and Zoheb to record an album for us if possible.”

Excitedly, Nazia asked her mother if Mr. Ratan could come over to discuss the project the project. They set a meeting for Friday, and the family eagerly waited for his arrival. When he came, he was tallm well dressed, and spoke kindly.

Ratan Tata said, “If you guys agree then let’s make it happen. I will get someone to get in touch with you regarding the agreement. Make sure you get a lawyer and your parents to look at the agreement. If you don’t agree with anything speak to me directly.”

With Ratan’s support, Nazia and Zoheb created Young Tarang, which features some of the first music videos in India and South Asia. During this time, MTV was just starting in the USA, and the network even reached out to express how amazed they were by the album.

“The rest is history and we produced the YoungTarang album with possibly the first music videos India and SouthAsia had ever seen. This was around the time MTV had just launched in usa . Zoheb wrote, “When we finally met Mr. Ratan Tata on the launch of the album at TheTajHotel in Mumbai we were then told by the MD of CBS India who this great man was. Until then we had no idea who Mr.Ratan was. After the launch of the album he invited Nazia and I to his residence for dinner. We thought he probably lived in a palace. When we reached we were taken aback that the most powerful industrialist lived in such a humble abode. A small 2 bed flat sparsely decorated. We met his sister, one servant and an alsatian whom he loved dearly.”

“It was a simple dinner with a great man which to this day I will never forget.
A true gentleman and an icon of the business world. RIP” Hassan concluded.

  • Trump biopic ‘The Apprentice’ hits US theaters weeks before election

Trump biopic ‘The Apprentice’ hits US theaters weeks before election

Explosive Donald Trump biopic “The Apprentice” hits US theaters Friday, with filmmakers gambling that it will draw audiences in a fiercely polarized nation just weeks before its subject’s election showdown with rival Kamala Harris.

The hot-topic film about the Republican candidate’s younger years has drawn legal threats from Trump’s attorneys, not least for deeply unflattering scenes including a depiction of the former president raping his wife.

None of the major Hollywood studios was willing to risk distributing the polarizing movie, which is instead being released in some 1,700 North American movie theaters this weekend by indie studio Briarcliff Entertainment.

“I think it’s interesting that people think this movie is controversial,” said director Ali Abbasi at the film’s New York premiere this week, which was attended by stars Sebastian Stan and Jeremy Strong.

“Think about it. We’re talking about a person who is actually convicted in civil court of sexual assault.”

The most talked-about scene in “The Apprentice” shows Trump raping his first wife, Ivana, after she belittles him for growing overweight and bald.

In real life, Ivana accused Trump of raping her during divorce proceedings, but later rescinded the allegation. She died in 2022.

Controversy tends to raise awareness, said Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst for Comscore, “but whether that translates to people wanting to see it is a whole different thing.”

“The Apprentice” is “not going to be the number one movie at the box office this weekend,” he predicted.

But it can still only benefit from the timing, much like the recent successful release of another biopic, “Reagan.”

“You’ve got to strike while the iron is hot, and right now political movies are pretty hot.”

Despite the headlines, “The Apprentice” offers a nuanced view of the young Trump as an ambitious but naive social climber, desperately trying to navigate the cutthroat world of Manhattan property deals and politics.

“I really don’t think we’ve done like a hit job on Donald Trump,” Abbasi told AFP at the Cannes film festival in May, where he used a press conference to invite Trump to watch the movie before judging it.

On Wednesday, marketers hired a plane to fly a banner over a Trump rally in Pennsylvania which read “TRUMP GO SEE THE APPRENTICE FRIDAY.”

Nonetheless, Trump’s lawyers have vowed to sue the producers, calling the film “garbage” and “pure malicious defamation.”

Its title reflects the name of NBC television show “The Apprentice,” which brought Trump fame and fortune over 15 seasons beginning in 2004.

Executive producer James Shani told the New York premiere audience the film had been “especially difficult” to release, and praised Briarcliff for being the only distributor with “the balls to get us here.”

“I think that says a lot about the time that we’re in,” he said.
