‘Relax’: Sehar Khan’s response to wedding rumours

Actress Sehar Khan set the internet buzzing last week when she shared a cryptic Instagram story hinting at a “big day.”

The actress wrote, “Big day, Alhamdulillah,” leaving fans wondering if a Nikkah, engagement, or some other major milestone was on the cards.

Social media immediately exploded with theories, emojis, and heart reactions as followers tried to decode the mysterious post.

But the actress has finally cleared the air.

In a new Instagram post, Sehar revealed that the “big day” was actually her best friend’s wedding.

She addressed the buzz with a playful wink, writing, “I love how everyone is excited for my wedding… but it’s not happening anytime soon. Or is it? ;)”

She also shared a story saying, “Best friend’s big day, not mine. Relax,” giving fans both relief and a little tease at the same time.

The comment section was flooded with reactions, showing just how invested her fans are in every update.

One user wrote, “Aap ne story hi aisi lagayi thi, what were we supposed to think .” Another chimed in, “Keep em guessing haha, don’t tease us with the caption .”

A third fan admitted, “Hum to dargayi thi ❤️,” while many others playfully begged Sehar to stop slaying hearts online, with one adding, “Stop slaying Seharrr .”

Beyond her social media antics, Sehar Khan has made a name for herself through her strong performances on television.

She made her debut in Sanwari in 2018, playing Shama, a role that immediately caught the audience’s attention. In Naqab Zan (2019), she portrayed Faria and earned praise for handling complex emotional scenes with depth.

Her role as Mahpara in Rang Mahal (2021) became widely popular and cemented her status as a rising star in the industry.

She further showcased her versatility in Fasiq (2021–2022), portraying the emotionally layered character Fatima, which highlighted her ability to carry intense narratives convincingly.

Most recently, in Fairy Tale (2023), she played Umeed Pasha, a role that resonated strongly with younger audiences and strengthened her fanbase even further.

  • All beauty, no backbone: Why ‘Neelofer’ misses its own story

All beauty, no backbone: Why ‘Neelofer’ misses its own story

One day, a Pakistani film editor will take a stand against directors and writers. He will ruthlessly cut down on scenes that do nothing to take the story forward, he will tell the director that his beloved project is too long, and he will not let every shot be included into the final reel.

The film he edits will be the project that will save the industry.

Neelofer, unfortunately, is not that film.

Bogged down by the film makers’ love for Lahore, the film spends an excessive run time showing you all of the city’s glory but very little time explaining why the two main leads are doing what they are doing. You may not fathom why the reserved Mansoor falls for the out-there Neelofer on the day he meets her but you will know that he likes to follow her into the narrow lanes of centuries-old colourful bazaars. You will not understand exactly why Mansoor was rejected by Neelofer, but you WILL know that he now likes to forlornly walk about in front of the pre-partition buildings of Mall Road.

The story is simple enough. Famous writer Mansoor Ali Khan, mourning the death of his wife, falls for Neelofer, who meets him in an opthalmologist’s clinic while preparing for a transplant to cure her blindness.

The film spends upwards of an hour establishing the romance between the introvert hero and spunky heroine as they go through a checklist of Lahore’s famous spots. Rooftop in androon complete with pigeons? Check. Dinner at the charming Nairang Gallery? Check. Driving the dodge-em cars amidst Joyland’s bright colours? Check.

Much less time is spent on the villain who will eventually drive a rift between them. In fact he gets a total of three scenes. We will have to take the script’s word that he is jealous of Mansoor’s success without knowing why.

Other characters breeze in and out at the writer’s whim, adding nothing to the story. Atiqa Odho gets two scenes and perhaps three lines, none of which were important enough to cast such a big name in. Samiya Mumtaz plays a charming eye-doctor who we see interacting with Mansoor but not with Neelofer, a lost opportunity to explore the medical disability that is a major driving force in the story.

There are bright points that show you what the film could have been like without the bloat. Neelofer is thankfully not a pitiful creature. She’s confident, smart and played with plenty of abandon by Mahira Khan. Fawad Khan’s protagonist is charming enough to make the walls swoon. One scene at a railway station plays to both Mahira’s and Fawad’s strengths, taking their chemistry off the charts. Another one at Walton’s old air strip keeps you hooked with the raw vulnerability of the unlikely couple who don’t know much about each other.

Towards the end of the film, everything gets crammed in quite haphazardly to end the film. There is a hint of a love triangle that then gets gobbled up in haste. An Indian angle gets sprung on the audiences out of the blue. Gohar Rasheed is completely wasted as the voice of reason in a lurid talk show.

What we are left with is a film that could have been much better had director Ammar Rasool recognised that the clunky material he wrote does not need indulgent adoration but a firm hand at the helm.

  • Case No. 9: the double-cross no one saw coming

Case No. 9: the double-cross no one saw coming

Episode 19-20 of Case No.9 was full of suspense and a twist that no one expected.

Kamran (Faysal Quraishi) bribes Inspector Shafeeq (Gohar Rasheed) to figure out a way to ruin Sehar’s (Saba Qamar) reputation and case online and Shafeeq makes a killer good plan by getting a woman Shazia, to pretend she is Kamran’s earlier victim and gain Sehar’s trust. He figures out that Sehar and her team will want to use the victim’s story and he’s banking on them using social media to do it. Once they do, Shazia will release a video of herself saying Sehar and her team bribed her to lie.

It did feel like Shazia was shady. The way she randomly got in touch and randomly had a thing with Kamran when he was single without showing any form of proof. It seemed strange from the start and it was also strange that Manisha (Navin Waqar) was so pushed to get her statement on social media. It wasn’t very clear what kind of information Ali (Ali Rehman Khan) Sehar’s ex-husband was going to gather from Kamran’s workplace but this is the episode that shows exactly why he was needed, at the right place at the right time.

Without a doubt the most stellar performance in the series is by Inspector Shafeeq. It is hard to hate a character as much as you learn to hate Shafeeq and credit goes to Gohar Rasheed for really playing the part of the greedy, corrupt police officer to the T.

Even though Sehar finds out in time that the woman has been planted by Kamran, it is Beenish (Amina Shaikh) that becomes a soft voice of reason where she, when talking to Manisha, says that maybe it’s not a good idea to use social media – almost because it’s a tool that was used and abused by Kamran as well. Beenish realises the value and sanctity of the case and even though Manisha does too, Manisha knows the power that social media holds. The point being that there is no quick fix to cases like this and that maybe it’s best to let things off social media, no matter how tempting it is to take a battle on that front as well.

But things are bad when Bukhari (Noor-ul-Hasan) is also trying to convince Kamran to use his underhanded ways to help them gain sympathy in the case. The lawyer, who was so arrogant and sure of himself in the past, now seems shaky, which shows where things are going.

Even though Kamran figures out that Ali is in fact, Sehar’s husband and now Ali’s cover is blown, the more telling part is how everyone expects that a divorce is the woman’s fault. Kamran and Bukhari wanted to find Ali to prove Sehar was a bad wife (a point inadmissible in court) but Ali clearly shows us how it is – it was him and he is man enough to admit it.

But the biggest point is that it is now crystal clear that Rohit (Junaid Khan) will have to take the stand. Beenish explains that even if Rohit doesn’t want to, the court can force him to and it’s something that will either make or break the case for Sehar. Watching Rohit go through his moral struggle, with his marriage and family on the line, is the real suspense and Junaid Khan doesn’t disappoint.

We will definitely be seeing more of him and his internal struggle in the next few episodes and also Beenish poking holes in the testimonies of Kamran’s staff. Things aren’t looking good for him as he realises that money can’t buy everything.

‘Biggest mistake of my life’: Honey Singh recalls drug addiction, eight-year long battle

Indian rapper and singer Yo Yo Honey Singh has admitted that drug addiction was the biggest mistake of his career, which caused severe damage till he completely rid his body of the same after an eight-year battle.

“Honey Singh from 15 to 20 years ago was intelligent and dedicated, but he made a huge mistake, and that was drug use. Drugs severely damaged me, and today I tell my younger brothers and sisters to stay away from drugs because they hurt you badly, and you do not even realize it,” he said in a recent interview.

He recalled quitting drugs in 2014 when doctors told him he was sick.

“But even after that, it took me eight years to fully recover. It did not leave my body easily, and I do not want anyone, not even my enemy, to go through what I suffered.”

Honey Singh also revealed that during the peak of his career between 2012 and 2014, he sometimes avoided meeting his parents because he was too busy chasing fame and making money.

“I was touring worldwide and forgot about them. I also maintained distance because I did not want my parents to find out about my addiction,” he explained.

Yo Yo Honey Singh’s career peaked in 2012 before a crushing decline. Following the success of his song ‘Desi Kalakaar’ he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and started using drugs. In 2017, he broke down during a tour.

He gave up music and drugs, returned to Delhi, and started rehabilitation with a global team of doctors and therapists.

“I was drowning in drugs and alcohol, smoking 12 to 15 joints and drinking bottles. I abandoned my family and lost control of myself. Once, I was so intoxicated that I bit a friend eight times on his stomach.”

After his break from work, Honey Singh returned in 2023 with the song ‘Kalaastar’, a sequel to Desi Kalakaar.

He is now preparing for his My Story World Tour to take his music global, scheduled to kick off on February 6, at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai.

He also recently released an album 51 Glorious Days.

‘I’m a big girl in a small-minded society’: Mathira slams body-shamers after she walks the ramp

Television host Mathira is calling out a wave of body-shaming comments from trolls after her recent appearance as a showstopper on a catwalk.

She reacted strongly after a news outlet shared a video of her walking on the ramp, reposting it on her Instagram Story with her own message saying, “I’ve seen several people talk about my body.”

She wrote, “I’m happy being healthy. I was invited to showstopper, I didn’t do anything wrong. But sick, mentally ill pages like this talk shit.”

She told her followers that she has been fighting health issues privately and said, “I’ve had a knee operation, my thyroid issues have been a mess, and this is how people act? Shame on this page and many more people posting.”

Mathira refused to let online comments shake her confidence. She said, “I will walk like a rule. This world is for me. I can happily say I’m a big girl in a small-minded society.” She ended her message proudly, calling herself “a healthy big girl in a small-minded world.”

Mathira walked the ramp at a wedding-themed fashion show in a silk outfit designed for the wedding season.

The video of the walk went viral within hours, but also became a target for trolls.

Mathira first gained mainstream fame in 2011 when she hosted the late-night talk show Love Indicator, a program that made her one of Pakistan’s most discussed media personalities.

She later hosted AAG TV’s Baji Online and continued building her presence through music videos, fashion shoots and television appearances.

Over the years, she featured in popular songs such as Piya Re and performed item numbers in films including Main Hoon Shahid Afridi and the Punjabi movie Young Malang.

Mathira also acted in the Geo Kahani drama Naagin and appeared in the 2019 film Sirf Tum Hi To Ho.

  • Fans in meltdown over Hania Aamir’s new reel, Asim Azhar’s cheeky reaction

Fans in meltdown over Hania Aamir’s new reel, Asim Azhar’s cheeky reaction

Internet is in meltdown after Hania Aamir posted a reel using Asim Azhar’s song ‘U Got This’, to which the singer also responded himself.

One user tried to keep things rational and wrote, “Bharosa rakho, random song choose kiya hai bhai, [have faith, [she] used a random song].”

Another fan leaned straight into the chaos and asked, “Hania phir hum confirm samjhy [Hania, should we take this as a confirmation]?” A third one joked, “Move on toh Hania ka bhi nahi hua [Hania hasn’t moved on either].”

Amid all the commentary, Asim also responded to the reel.

Sharing it reel to his Instagram story, Asim wrote, “Haan, main galat par sahi bhi hota hoon [Yes, I’m wrong, but I am also right].”

While Hania is yet to respond, the bond shared between the two has always kept the public curious amid reports of a romantic entanglement, break-up and alleged reconciliation.

Earlier this month, Asim took over social media, making fans think if their long-held suspicions might just be true.

After mysteriously deleting all his Instagram posts and leaving behind only a cryptic “Khuda Hafiz,” Asim finally broke his silence with a dramatic comeback video. The clip announced his much-anticipated solo album “Asim Ali”, but that was not what got fans talking.

The real shocker came when Hania appeared in the video. The ex-couple, who had parted ways years ago, were seen together, sparking an internet meltdown and instant rumours of a possible reunion.

In his post, Asim wrote, “On my 29th birthday, I want to introduce you to someone special. Until now, you’ve known Asim Azhar, but now it’s time to meet Asim Ali, my truest and most authentic self.” He added that “Asim Ali”, his first independent album, will finally be “yours soon.”

But fans were not exactly focused on the album name or even the release date. All eyes went straight to the fifth track on the list, “Lost and Found,” which featured none other than Hania.

  • Humayun Saeed, Ahsan Khan or Fahad Mustafa? Mehwish Hayat asked about her ‘flirtiest’ co-star

Humayun Saeed, Ahsan Khan or Fahad Mustafa? Mehwish Hayat asked about her ‘flirtiest’ co-star

Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat has opened up about behind-the-scenes fun on her drama sets and answered which of her co-stars has the “flirtiest” vibe during shoots.

Mehwish is currently in Texas where she is participating in the Pakistan Celebrity Cricket League (PCCL).

During an event, host Nida Yasir fired a series of rapid questions at her, including one by fans about which of her co-stars “flirts most often”.

She pointed out that Mehwish most frequently works with Humayun Saeed, Ahsan Khan, Fahad Mustafa and Azfar Rehman, asking which of the four is the biggest flirt. Before Mehwish could answer, people in the audience instantly shouted Humayun Saeed’s name.

Mehwish smiled and said, “Humayun does not flirt.”

“His nature is just like that. He jokes around all the time and creates a fun environment,” she said, adding that when she is on set with Humayun and director Nadeem Baig, a friendly “triangle” forms.

“We keep joking about who is closest to me. This fun banter goes on all the time. They are all like family friends to me,” Mehwish said.

The host then pushed her further and asked her to rank the four actors.

    Mehwish did not hesitate.

“I would put Humayun first,” she said. She placed Ahsan Khan second and gave Fahad Mustafa the third spot. When asked about Azfar Rehman, she laughed and said, “He is my best friend.”

Mehwish remains one of Pakistan’s most popular and successful actresses, with several major hits to her name.

She earned wide praise for her performance in Punjab Nahi Jaungi (2017), which became one of the highest-grossing Pakistani films of its time. Her next big-screen project, Load Wedding (2018), also received critical acclaim and performed well at the box office.

Mehwish also starred in Actor in Law (2016), a commercially successful film that won Best Film at the Lux Style Awards.

In 2019, the government of Pakistan awarded her the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz for her contributions to cinema.

  • Azlan Shah gets bashed online after ‘second marriage’ prank backfires

Azlan Shah gets bashed online after ‘second marriage’ prank backfires

YouTuber and social media influencer Azlan Shah, known for gifting a donkey to his bride at their wedding, faced strong backlash after he posted a dramatic announcement claiming he is “getting married again.”

Azlan shared an Instagram story telling fans he had something important to reveal. He wrote that he felt it was his responsibility to share the news himself before anyone else did.

The announcement confused many followers and triggered a wave of reactions. Some thought he was joking, others believed he was serious, and a few sent harsh messages.

Now after few hours, Azlan posted a video with his wife, Dr Vareesha Javed Khan, to clarify that he had played a prank. He began the video by saying many people accused him of lying and even cursing him after reading his original post.

He then offered a clarification: “It is true, I am getting married again. I am marrying again, but not doing a second marriage. I am marrying Vareesha again,” he said. He added that it was simply their anniversary surprise and not an announcement about taking another wife.

Vareesha, who was beside him in the video, said his way of announcing it was very bad. Azlan apologised again and again, saying, “I am sorry and I love you.”

She added, “I cannot even let him think about a second marriage,” which made Azlan quickly add another apology.

However, followers were not amused and called the prank tasteless.

One user wrote, “Ah, just what we need. Another generation of men making ‘doosri shaadi’ jokes. These problematic norms keep getting passed down like unwanted heirlooms.”

Another commented, “You need to come up with something better. I love you guys but this idea is a big no.”

Some questioned the intention behind the stunt. One user asked, “Is gaining attention more important than having morals?”

Another reaction read, “Trust me, you two are smarter than this. This was a really bad idea.”

Others criticised the stunt more harshly. “Sasti shohrat bhai, nothing else,” wrote one user. Another said, “Attention chaheye the views kam arahy tey.”

Someone commented, “Such a cheap way to gain attention.”

And one user even warned him jokingly, “Bohat gaalian parengi bhai, comments off kar do.”

Despite the backlash, Azlan tried to keep the tone of the video light by laughing with Vareesha and repeatedly apologising. But social media was not ready to let this one slide easily, especially because jokes about “second marriage”.

Azlan and Vareesha married in 2022 and share a two-year-old daughter. The couple is known for their playful content, but this time their prank landed differently.

  • Pamaal: after losing everything, will Malika finally find herself?

Pamaal: after losing everything, will Malika finally find herself?

Episode 15 and 16 of Pamaal are the beginning of the revival of Malika (Saba Qamar), however slow it might seem. In these two episodes, we see how completely she has lost herself in the roles of wife and mother. Emotionally controlled and abused, she no longer recognises her own power that she held in the beginning of the show, before she met Raza (Usman Mukhtar). Although, she is going through a tough time, you cannot help but mourn how lost she now is, how sad you feel when she tells Raza that she wished she knew how to drive so her daughter didn’t have to take the school van, how happy and relieved she is when Raza comes home from jail on bail. You can’t help but hate the fact that he has been released because he is the impediment, the reason why she cannot own herself in the way we know she will and well, it feels like its taking too long.

Malika realises how she is helpless. No money, no job, no ability to rely on herself, she turns to others for help. Raza’s brother and wife do not help, despite Raza’s conviction that his brother would not leave him and the only ones that support the couple and their daughter are Malika’s mamoo and mother. As a fellow inmate in jail tells Raza, it’s the bad times that determine who is with you and who isn’t and in Malika’s case, it’s her own family that has always been there for her marriage – not necessarily for her in particular (remember when her mother was shattered that Malika might get divorced).

Maybe that was the turning point for the heroine of this show: when her mother made her realise that she might be nothing without her husband – and in episode 16 that’s exactly what she says to the man who has brought her to the time in her life where she literally has nothing.

In terms of society, it also makes you realise that a woman, who is controlled by a man or her and his family, will only discover herself and her own worth when she is pushed in a corner – when nothing can be worse, when she’s at the bottom of the pit. Only then can she pull herself up and become who she was born to be – a woman for herself and herself first and then others.

When she can rely only on herself.

Thankfully, we know Malika makes it through and she rises to the top all on her own accord. Otherwise, the drama would be the sad life that many women lead until they are old. The concept of community above all and not individual, a classic in this case that the woman must sacrifice herself and when times get tough, she has to ask others to help her.

The beauty of Pamaal is that it doesn’t care what you think. It is enraptured and entrenched in Malika’s story, it doesn’t push itself just because the viewer wants it to, and it will show you really, really, how hard it is for a woman to find herself after she’s been lost. Saba Qamar’s stellar performance will always keep you guessing to the point that you want to yell at the scream that hello, it’s time to learn to drive, time to get a job, time to take care of yourself, make something of yourself, and really, leave this guy.

We wait for that moment and until it comes, we suffer with her because every woman knows how hard it is to put herself first.

  • Aima Baig, Zain Ahmad debunk breakup rumours with surprise video

Aima Baig, Zain Ahmad debunk breakup rumours with surprise video

Weeks of gossip about Aima Baig and Zain Ahmad’s separation came to an end on Tuesday, after the couple appeared together in a new video, shutting down all rumours of a split.

The speculation began when Aima suddenly disappeared from Instagram a few weeks ago. The buzz intensified when Zain briefly removed their wedding photos from his profile.

Fans quickly linked both moves and believed the couple had parted ways within their first year of marriage.

In absence of an official statement from the two, rumours kept spreading.  Aima stayed away from the music scene and stopped posting updates, while Zain focused on his brand without addressing the chatter.

Things escalated when followers noticed that Zain resumed posting normally but still avoided sharing any photos with Aima.

Many took it as a sign that the relationship had hit a rough patch.

However, the new video has now cleared the air. Aima and Zain appear together and look completely at ease, confirming that the marriage remains on track and the rumours were nothing more than social media noise.

Zain has also restored their wedding photos on Instagram, putting another rumour to rest.

Just two days ago, Aima sparked fresh excitement with a pair of mysterious Instagram Stories.

In one teaser, she wrote, “You were not supposed to see me yet… but the countdown has begun,” adding a playful wink.

In the second, she dialed up the suspense: “Early return. Big drop coming. That’s all I’m gonna say for now.”

Aima did not reveal any further details, but her sudden return to teasers has already reignited buzz across fan pages and entertainment circles.

Many believe she may be gearing up for a long-awaited track or a full musical comeback, especially considering her past hits like Baazi, Malang and several popular OSTs.
