‘Where are the activists’; Muneeb Butt slams silence over Sabri Qawwals’ murder

Actor Muneeb Butt has expressed deep sorrow and regret over the brutal murder of members of the Sabri Qawwal family and strongly criticized human rights activists and social leaders.

In a video statement shared on social media, Muneeb Butt said, “The brutality with which members of the Sabri family were targeted is not only unbearable but also the worst example of cruelty against humanity.”

He questioned, “Where are all those voices on such tragedies, those human rights organizations and social activists who raise their voices even when terrorists are killed?”

The actor stressed that speaking up for the oppressed should not be selective. “Raising your voice in favor of the oppressed should not be only for specific situations or purposes, but it should be spoken on every occasion when the sanctity of human lives is violated,” he said.

Muneeb Butt added, “Three members of the Sabri Qawwal family were killed. What will happen to their families? They were also artists from Karachi like us, who were going to perform to share love.”

He demanded, “There should be a transparent investigation into the incident, and the culprits should be punished severely so that no artist or common citizen is subjected to such cruelty in the future.”

The video statement is going viral on social media, and a large number of users have expressed support for Muneeb Butt’s demands.

The incident he was referring to took place earlier this week in Balochistan.

At least three members of a Qawwali group from Karachi were martyred, while seven others were injured in a gun attack on a passenger coach near Niemurgh Cross in the Kalat district. They were en route to Quetta to perform at a cultural event when unidentified gunmen opened fire on their vehicle.

Media reports citing local officials and the provincial government spokesperson confirmed the attack, blaming it on Fitna al-Hindustan, a proxy group allegedly backed by India, which has been involved in multiple such attacks in the region.

Police crack Rajab Butt shooting case, arrest suspects linked to Shahzad Bhatti

Chung police have solved the mystery behind the shooting at the residence of controversial YouTuber Rajab Butt and arrested the suspects involved in the attack.

According to reports citing police officials, the two shooters on the motorcycle have been identified as Kashif Chauhan and Farrukh. “They carried out the attack on the instructions of a man named Shani Tiger,” police said, citing the initial investigation.

Further investigation revealed that two more individuals, Usman and Luqman, were also present at the scene in a car and were involved in the plan.

According to Chung police, the motive behind the attack was a heated argument on social media between Rajab Butt and a young man named Shahzad Bhatti.

“Shahzad Bhatti contacted Shani Tiger and asked him to arrange the firing,” officials said. Shani then sent the attackers to the YouTuber’s residence.

Police launched an operation and arrested the suspects from different areas, including Valencia. The accused have been handed over to the Crime Control Department (CCD) for further investigation.

Alizeh Shah blames star singer for her fall on ramp

Actress Alizeh Shah has made explosive revelations about her experience in the entertainment industry, including her viral fall during a bridal fashion show featuring famous Pakistani singer Shazia Manzoor.

In a video statement shared on Instagram, Alizeh made a startling claim, saying, “My fall on the ramp wasn’t an accident. Shazia Manzoor kept grabbing and pushing me repeatedly, which made me lose balance.”

She added, “This behavior is a habit of hers. She’s done the same to Jannat Mirza before. Such actions can embarrass anyone, especially in a public setting.”

Alizeh also criticized host and actress Juggan Kazim for mocking the incident saying, “Instead of taking the matter seriously, Juggan Kazim made fun of my fall. That’s unprofessional.”

The actress stated she would no longer stay silent: “I won’t tolerate negativity and mistreatment anymore. I’ll keep speaking out against those who treat me unfairly.”

Her video quickly went viral, with fans appreciating her bravery and offering their support online.

In addition to the ramp incident, Alizeh Shah revealed disturbing details about a smear campaign allegedly run against her. “Money was spent to defame me, and a campaign was launched by paying social media pages,” she said.

Alizeh added that she has been mistreated on shooting sets but was told to remain silent.

“Later, allegations of vandalism and misbehavior were made against me. It was all part of a planned strategy,” she claimed.

“I never smoked in my makeup room, yet people accused me of it. Seniors and directors cast me and paid me for my work that doesn’t mean I have to tolerate everything,” she added.

Opening up about an uncomfortable incident, she said, “A senior actor threw his sweat on my face. When I spoke up, he took offense, as if I was supposed to treat his sweat like Zamzam water.”

Alizeh also talked about her struggles as a child artist, saying, “Seniors sit in air-conditioned rooms while we’re treated harshly. I faced a lot of difficulties growing up in this industry.”

Another major issue she highlighted was delayed payments, revealing: “People in the industry pay us three to four months after the project ends, and even then, only after repeatedly asking for it.”

She added, “It felt like they were giving me charity instead of my rightful compensation. That attitude is deeply hurtful.”

In the past, actors Yasir Nawaz, Zarnish Khan, and Naveed Raza had accused Alizeh Shah of being rude on set. However, Yasir Nawaz and Zarnish Khan later issued public apologies to her.

  • ‘Blaming Karachi won’t hide your own neglect’; Shamoon Abbasi slams Humaira Asghar’s mother

‘Blaming Karachi won’t hide your own neglect’; Shamoon Abbasi slams Humaira Asghar’s mother

Actor Shamoon Abbasi has strongly responded to a statement said by late actress Humaira Asghar Ali’s mother, who blamed the people of Karachi for ignoring her daughter’s cries for help.

In a recent interview on a local TV channel, Humaira’s parents spoke about her personal struggles and isolation, with her mother labeling the people of Karachi “insensitive” and “heartless.”

In anger, she declared, “I curse the people of Karachi,” claiming that although screams came from her daughter’s flat, no one knocked on the door or checked in, and instead, people continued with their leisure activities.

Her statement sparked widespread backlash on social media. Users questioned how the late actress’ parents could shift the blame to the public when they themselves appeared disconnected from their daughter’s condition, and even reportedly refused to claim her body initially.

Taking to his Instagram account, Shamoon Abbasi addressed the issue in a video message, saying, “We cannot imagine her parents’ pain, but as parents, it was their responsibility to take care of their daughter. When Humaira asked for help, her parents refused to help. When there was an uproar on social media, the brothers came to collect the body and their position also changed.”

He further remarked, “If financial circumstances did not permit, a relative or acquaintance from Lahore could have been sent to Karachi at a modest cost to check on the daughter’s well-being. The police could have also been approached for help. But the parents shrugged off the responsibility and blamed the citizens of Karachi.”

Shamoon added, “The relationship was with you, the daughter was yours, it was your and your family’s responsibility to take care of her, but you chose the easy way and started blaming others.”

He also revealed that during the time of crisis, several people from the showbiz industry and NGOs had come forward, ready to take responsibility for Humaira’s burial if her family continued to refuse.

“This was not just empty talk but proper arrangements were being made for it,” he said.

Shamoon concluded by saying, “We are also saddened by Humaira’s passing, but in this hour of grief, it is better to recognize our responsibilities than to blame others. Because the real responsibility of those who die alone lies with the family, not the entire city.”

Humaira Asghar ‘s decomposed body was found in a flat in Defence Phase 6, Karachi where she had been living alone in the rented apartment for the past seven years, after moving to Karachi from Lahore in 2018.

Her remains were discovered when a court bailiff arrived to vacate her flat on July 8, after the landlord filed a complaint over unpaid rent. When repeated knocks went unanswered, the bailiff broke the door open and found the 32-year-old actor’s body lying in a room, hidden away for months.

Initially, Karachi Police Surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed estimated that Humaira had been dead for at least a month, based on the advanced stage of decomposition. However, investigators now believe her death occurred back in October 2024.

Her last Facebook post was shared on September 11, 2024, and her final Instagram update was on September 30. Phone records also show that her last dialled call was made in October 2024, after which her phone remained inactive.

Investigators discovered that her apartment’s electricity had been disconnected since October due to unpaid bills. The water pipes were dry and rusted, expired food was found in the kitchen, and there were no candles or backup lights present.

“There were rusted jars, dry pipes, and no signs of electricity or candles in her flat,” an investigator said. “One neighbor returned to the vacant apartment on the same floor in February but by then the smell had faded because the balcony door had been left open.”

Humaira Asghar Ali rose to fame after winning Veet Miss Super Model in 2014 and was known for her appearance in the reality show Tamasha Ghar in 2022. She also acted in popular dramas including Just Married, Ehsaan Faramosh, Guru and Chal Dil Mere, and appeared in films like Jalaibee (2015) and Love Vaccine (2021).

Police efforts to locate her family revealed that Humaira’s father had severed ties with her nearly two years ago and initially refused to come to Karachi to claim her body. However, her remains were eventually handed over to her family on July 11.

In recent days, videos posted on Sahir Lodhi’s official social media accounts have gone viral, showing the TV host seemingly caught “unaware” while preparing for meetings. He has been widely mocked for the overly staged nature of the clips and his repetitive expressions.

As these videos gained popularity, social media users flooded them with humorous comments. Several well-known actors and social media personalities joined in by sharing light-hearted imitation videos of Sahir’s dramatic style. Among them are stars like Faisal Qureshi, Yasir Nawaz, and Aijaz Aslam.

She further added, “You don’t have to agree with someone’s style or choices, but basic respect should never go out of fashion. Let’s normalize kindness, especially toward those who keep showing up, no matter what the world throws at them!”

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was recently injured while shooting for his upcoming film King and has since been moved to the United States for treatment.

According to Indian media, the incident took place on the film’s set in Mumbai during an intense action sequence, where Khan hurt his back. While the injury has not been reported to be serious, doctors have reportedly advised him to rest for at least a month to ensure a full recovery.

The production team has temporarily halted the filming of the movie. Industry insiders say this delay could increase the film’s overall budget, but the producers have decided to prioritise Shah Rukh Khan’s health over deadlines.

The scene was a high-energy stunt which Shah Rukh chose to perform himself. A close source was quoted as saying, “Shah Rukh Khan has been injured several times during the shoot, but he always returns to work quickly after recovery.”
