    Sajjad Ali wants to bring a music revolution with online concerts

    Renowned Pakistani singer Sajjad Ali has asked his fans to start a music revolution with online concerts after the government enforced Section 144 in the wake of coronavirus pandemic.

    The singer in a video message posted to Twitter said that keeping in view the current situation, if he and his fans remained indoors then will there be no concerts?

    Ali maintained that the concerts will be held online.

    He added, “Let’s come and bring a revolution. Small gatherings, corporate events and even commercial shows can now be held online.”

    He further said, “If a sponsor wants to become part of our revolution, they are most welcome.”

    Ali is not the first singer who has announced online concerts for his fans. International singers who are doing the same include British singer Chris Martin and American sensation John Legend. They have started live-streaming their performances while staying at home.

    Martin, earlier this week performed a full 30-minute set from his house on Instagram, performing songs including Trouble, A Sky Full of Stars and a cover of a David Bowie song.

    Apart from Martin and John, Miley Cyrus has also started a Livestream series Bright Minded, Live with Miley. She has already performed a multiple times post-quarantine.

    Ahad and Sajal tied the knot in Abu Dhabi on March 14 amidst their close friends and family. The couple reportedly met on the sets of their super hit Yakeen ka Safar and hit it off from there.

    The third and final installment of the Fifty Shades film trilogy 50 Shades Freed is trending at number one on Netflix Pakistan as citizens of the country practise social distancing and self-isolation amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

    As of late, Netflix has started sharing a list of ‘Top 10’ movies or seasons which are trending in different countries. According to a blog post from the company, the Top 10 row will be updated every day with “the most popular titles within a subscriber’s country, and the position of the row will also change depending on how relevant the shows and movies in the list are to their interests.”

    Subscribers can also get an even better sense of what’s trending by clicking on the individual movies and TV shows tabs to get top 10 lists for each respective category.

    Fifty Shades Freed is a 2018 American erotic romantic drama film based on E. L. James’s 2012 novel of the same name. It is the third and final installment in the Fifty Shades film trilogy, following Fifty Shades of Grey (2015) and Fifty Shades Darker (2017). The film stars Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan as Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey, respectively, and follows the couple as they marry, and deal with Ana’s former boss, who begins to stalk them.

    The rapid spread of coronavirus around the globe has created panic among the people and the health experts are urging people to stay at home, practise social distancing and not travel abroad.

    Amid all this, Pakistani actors Adnan Siddiqui, Hira Mani and Humayun Saeed are in the United States for Meray Paas Tum Ho ‘Meet and Greets’.

    Though they are taking precautionary measures – like wearing masks – while travelling, Hira does not seem to understand the seriousness of the situation.

    In a video on her Instagram stories, the actor says: “There’s a strict curfew here, big brands are closed, streets are empty. I went to a mall here, First Colony and there, all the Pakistani people, salesgirls were present and all white people were on leave; they turned out to be quite cowardly.”

    With cases of coronavirus close to 250 in Pakistan, celebrities, politicians and health experts are requesting everyone to do their bit in ensuring that the virus does not spread. One of the most challenging tasks is making people understand the importance of social distancing considering that the virus is highly contagious. With workplaces are shutting down and companies switching to work from home, daily wage earners in the country are expected to be hit the hardest as their services will no longer be required.

    Mansha Pasha, in a recent tweet, urged her followers to do their bit and help out those most affected by the setback.

    She also proposed the damn fund be used to battle this unexpected crisis.

    Apart from a stellar star cast, Hum TV and ISPR’s joint project Ehd e Wafa also boasted some breathtakingly beautiful shots of Pakistan. And it turns out that the drama was shot in 16 cities across the country.

    Osman Khalid Butt, who played the spoiled Malik Shahzain, revealed this little fun fact in a social media post in which he thanked director Saifee Hasan for his unrelenting effort in making the drama. Butt also shared that the drama’s shoot was spread over nine months.

    The last bumper episode of the drama was released on Sunday (March 14). It was initially supposed to be screened in cinemas but the coronavirus outbreak lead to a closure of cinemas across the country.

    Earlier Zara Noor Abbas also took to social media to share some fun BTS from the sets of the drama and thank her co-stars for the experience. She also offered “special thanks to Col Asif and Major General Asif Ghafoor for all his love and hard work for this project which was his dream to fulfil.”

    Directed by Saifee Hassan and written by Mustafa Afridi, Ehd-e-Wafa is centred around the SSG, short for Secret ‘S’ Gang, consisting of Shehryar (Ahmed Ali Akbar), Shariq (Wahaj Ali), Saad (Ahad Raza Mir) and Shahzain (Osman Khalid Butt). The series won the hearts of the audiences because of its heartwarming storyline and great performances by the ensemble cast which also includes Alizeh Shah, Hajra Yamin, Vaneezah Ahmed, Zara Noor Abbas, Faraz Yahya, Syed Muhammad Ahmed and Adnan Samad Khan (Gulzar) among others.

    Coronavirus: Shoot for Ahmad Ali Butt’s ‘Fatman’ postponed

    Following a recent spike in coronavirus cases and the government’s appeal to practise social distancing, director Nabeel Qureshi has announced that he is postponing the shoot of his upcoming superhero film with Ahmad Ali Butt: Fatman.

    The director took to social media to make the announcement.

    Earlier while talking about the film, Ahmad had told The Current, “It’s a different and bold take on superhero films but at the core, it is a story about a father-son relationship.”

    He added, “It also addresses body shaming, yet keeps the family factor in mind.”

    Meanwhile, Nabeel had shared, “It’s a real-life superhero family entertainment film with a great message which talks about body shaming, with pun intended.”

    Nabeel’s decision comes weeks after several big-budget Hollywood productions announced that they are postponing their shoots due to the coronavirus pandemic. Paramount Pictures delayed its plans for a three-week shoot of Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible 7 in Venice, Italy after coronavirus cases spiked in the country. The live-action remake of Little Mermaid, which was set to go before the cameras in the week of March 16 in London, has also been postponed. Netflix’s Red Notice starring Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds has also temporarily halted production in Atlanta for at least two weeks beginning March 16.

    Other than that Deadline reported that The Matrix 4 has halted production in Berlin, The Batman starring Robert Pattinson has halted production for two weeks beginning March 14 after considering relocating production from London to Liverpool and Fantastic Beasts 3 will not begin production as scheduled on March 17 in London.

    Meanwhile, the release of a string of movies including Mulan, No Time to Die, F9 and A Quiet Place Part II has also been delayed due to the pandemic.

    Earlier, Nabeel recently wrapped up the shoot of his other film Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad featuring Mahira Khan and Fahad Mustafa.
