‘We miss you’: Fawad Khan gets birthday love from across the border

In case you missed it, it is national heartthrob Fawad Khan’s 38th birthday today. Though the actor has been off the screen for a while now, he is still one of the most sought-after celebrities this country has.

And we’re not the only ones who miss him. Turns out he is being missed across the border as well.

Editor of Filmfare Magazine, Jitesh Pillaai, sharing pictures and clips of Fawad from his dramas, wrote a heartwarming note for the actor saying that he misses them.

“We carry a piece of you everywhere we go. I’m sure you carry a piece of us too,” wrote Pillaai.

Jitesh also shared pictures of Fawad on his Instagram stories.

Fawad’s Khoobsurat co-star Sonam Kapoor also wished the actor.

Fawad’s career in Bollywood was just taking off when a ban on Pakistani actors was announced in 2016. Following that, Fawad had several projects lined up but the Pulwama attack in early 2019 put an end to all chances. The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) announced a blanket ban on Pakistani actors and artists working in the Indian film industry and vowed to take strict action against anyone who works with them.

“Allah is watching and He knows what’s in your heart,” says singer Akon

Akon was in the UAE this week and and instead of singing his famous tunes, he delivered a keynote address at the Sharjah Entrepreneurial Festival.

He spoke about his journey from being a car thief to becoming one of the biggest pop stars but said that his social entrepreneurship is what gives him the most satisfaction.

Originally from Senegal, Akon is a Grammy award winning singer and has now launched a solar-powered energy project of his own. He says that his decisions are based on his faith and there is a spiritual side to business that entrepreneurs ignore.

“It makes you ask the question: what is success? Is it fame or fortune? Does that measure what success means to you? Or is it faith?” he asked, “For me, real success is faith. If God is not smiling upon me I am not successful. I don’t care even if I have a billion dollars in the bank. And what good am I if have a billion dollars sitting in the bank in the first place?”

One of Akon’s biggest hits: Right Now (Na Na Na)

Akon had spoken to The National, a UAE based newspaper and said that he was born a Muslim and in some places of Senegal it was considered haram. But he said that the intention has to be good and even in daily prayers, “we pray in melody.”

He also added that he would not judge anyone because, “at the end of the day, Allah is watching and he knows what is in your heart.”

Akon was going to visit Pakistan in April of this year but was not able to. In January he had uploaded this message for PM Khan,

  • Who is Ali Gul Pir talking about in his latest rap?

Who is Ali Gul Pir talking about in his latest rap?

Ali Gul Pir is back with a new rap song, Karle Jo Karna Hai that directly challenges a famous Pakistani singer-actor who has been accused of sexual harassment. While the comedian doesn’t really take anyone’s name, he gives clear hint.

“Chup nahi baithunga, sab kuch mai keh dunga”, the rapper sends the message that nothing will stop his freedom of expression and the song includes some very specific lyrics about a ‘legal notice’ that won’t stop him from sharing his opinion.

Ali was throwing shade at a legal notice issued to the star, as well as 15 others for allegedly making derogatory remarks about Ali Zafar. In a statement released in August, he wrote, “In Pakistan, some people have so much power that they try to silence you if you don’t agree with them.”

Wearing a ‘Super Sindhi’ ajrak jacket, he mentions the person he is attacking as ‘Teefa’, then goes on to say that the person gets invited on award shows. (Ali Zafar was nominated for his movie Teefa in trouble at Lux style awards and people had called for a boycott of the awards due to the harassment allegations)

Ek joke se tera ego toota (One joke breaks your ego), the song says and that “person” takes the support of old songs to become famous. Ali Gul Pir ends the song with “I’m calling this song Channo Ki Maut”. Ali is ready to take the open challenge and is even willing to go to jail.

In response to Humayun’s tweet, Adnan shared a video on his Instagram in which he can be heard saying, “Thappad se darr nahi lagta sahab ji, pyaar se lagta hai.

From Kashmir to Khalistan: Indian rapper’s latest song slams Modi-led BJP

Indian rapper and actress Taran Kaur Dhillon, better known as Hard Kaur, received a lot of backlash on social media after she released a new rap song From Kashmir to Khalistan dedicated to the people of occupied Kashmir and the Sikh minority of Hindu-majority India.

“As artists we shouldn’t be pressured into making club bangers and commercial songs all the time,” she reportedly said after her new video was released.

“A real artist needs to be respected for his freedom of expression. When that’s overtaken with business and money it puts very difficult choices in front of an artist. [This song] it’s my way of raising awareness as an artist through my music. Being a Sikh, I must stand up against oppression and protect humanity especially when it’s my land, my people, my country”, the rapper added.

The Indian rapper has been very vocal about the human rights abuses being carried out by the government of Indian under Prime Minister Narendra Modi in occupied Kashmir and also about the oppression of minorities in India.

Earlier this year, authorities in India had charged the United Kingdom-based rapper with sedition after she posted some comments on social media against the extremist Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat and Uttar Pradesh (UP) Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

As per reports, the social media accounts of Hard Kaur were blocked in India soon afterward.
