‘Scene of the year’; Parwarish shocks viewers as Maya’s mother finally fights back

Just when we thought Maya was going to be married off to Waleed, forced into a life she didn’t want, Parwarish flipped the script in the most unexpected way. The drama gave us a scene we’ll never forget: a mother standing up for her daughter, loud and clear.

When Maya’s father slapped her, many of us were stunned. It was a hard-to-watch moment, but one that sparked a turning point. Because what came next was everything.

“Why does she need another person when her father is alive?”

“You, her father, gave Waleed the courage to come and force Maya to do things against her will under our own roof.”

These dialogues hit hard and honestly, they couldn’t have been delivered at a better time. The mother’s fierce energy, her clarity, her refusal to stay silent -it was goosebump-inducing.

I’ve waited 19 episodes to see someone finally confront Maya’s father in such a direct, emotional, and impactful way. And it paid off. His silence, his shame, the way he looked at his daughter after hearing the truth showed cracks in a man who has been unshakable for far too long.

The scene quickly went viral  and rightly so.

Aina Asif’s performance was heartbreaking and raw. Her fear, her helplessness, her pain it all felt too real. But what truly turned the episode into a must-watch was the mother stepping in like a warrior.

“He tortures her. He forces himself on her. He lied to you. I will not let you raise your hand on our daughters again.”
These weren’t just dialogues, they were declarations. Of love. Of strength. Of change.

And then came another storm: the intense showdown between Wali and Waleed. Usually calm and composed, Wali snapped this time, unleashing all the pent-up rage and helplessness he had been carrying. The fight was violent, emotional, and raw.

But it also raised questions, Was this strength? Or just another example of how men are taught to show love by fighting?

Still, Wali’s transformation left a mark. It made viewers feel every second of his pain and frustration.

The writers gave us a brilliant contrast. Waleed feeding lies to Maya’s father while Maya tearfully opened her heart to her mother. It reminded us that truth often lives where love and trust exist.

But just when hope arrived, Maya’s father disappointed us once again by talking about finding her another rishta right away. Some people just don’t learn.

The emotional episode sparked a wave of reactions online. Fans flooded social media, calling it one of the most impactful moments in recent drama history.

“Goosebumps! I got chills after that scene. My husband had tears in his eyes. What a phenomenal performance!”

“This is the scene of the year, the mother deserves an award!”

    “Ufff… Award-winning. No doubt.”

“These men should never marry if they’ll always trust outsiders over their own wives and daughters.”

“So proud of Maya’s mom for standing up. Every mother should be like her.”

“Thank you for showing this strength on screen. Mothers like this are heroes.”

  • ‘We had no option but to kill him’: Goldy Brar finally reveals reason behind Sidhu Moose Wala’s murder

‘We had no option but to kill him’: Goldy Brar finally reveals reason behind Sidhu Moose Wala’s murder

A gangster who claims to have orchestrated the murder of famous Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala has finally spoken out, calling the killing an act of revenge and stating that he feels “no remorse whatsoever.”

Goldy Brar, who is internationally wanted and listed by Interpol, shared voice notes with the BBC, explaining why he ordered the killing. This is the first time he has publicly shared his motive in detail.

“In his arrogance, he [Moose Wala] made some mistakes that could not be forgiven,” Brar said.
“We had no option but to kill him. It was either him or us. As simple as that.”

Sidhu Moose Wala, whose real name was Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, was only 28 years old when he was shot dead in Punjab’s Mansa district in broad daylight on May 29, 2022. His car was surrounded by six gunmen who fired 24 bullets at him, according to the post-mortem report.

Brar had claimed responsibility just hours after the murder but had never explained his motive until now.

Brar and fellow gangster Lawrence Bishnoi are believed to be the main planners behind the killing.

Brar said the motive was revenge for the 2021 murder of Vicky Middukhera, a close friend of Bishnoi. He claimed that Sidhu Moose Wala used his political connections to protect the people involved in that murder.

Moose Wala’s manager, Shaganpreet Singh, was named by police in the case, accused of helping the shooters. He later fled to Australia. Moose Wala, however, denied being involved.

“We wanted him to face punishment for what he’d done. He had to face the consequences of his actions,” Brar said.

“He should have been booked. He should have been jailed. But nobody listened to our plea. So we took it upon ourselves,” he added.

Brar also accused Moose Wala of supporting their rival gang, the Bambiha gang, by promoting one of their kabaddi matches, further fuelling tensions with Bishnoi and his allies.

“He was promoting our rivals. That’s when Lawrence and others were upset with him,” Brar told the BBC.

He added that even though there was no solid evidence connecting Sidhu to any crime, he believed the singer was working with their enemies.

“Everyone knew Sidhu’s role; the police investigating knew, and even the journalists who were investigating knew. Sidhu mixed with politicians and people in power. He was using political power, money, and his resources to help our rivals,” Brar said.

The interview also revealed that Moose Wala and Bishnoi had been in contact since 2018.

Pakistan Rangers sing ‘Ishq Murshid’ on Eid show to internet’s delight

A clip from the Eid-ul-Adha special of Hasna Mana Hai, in which two Rangers officials performed the title track of the popular drama Ishq Murshid, is making rounds on social media.

The two-part show hosted by Tabish Hashmi and featuring Pakistan Army and Rangers personnel included candid conversations, funny stories, and a special musical performance that became the highlight of the night.

Studio audiences cheered the performance, and online users were equally impressed, showering the clip with praise.

But the music wasn’t the only thing grabbing attention. Throughout the show, officers from various ranks opened up about life in uniform, often with a humorous twist.

One captain shared a hilarious story about the moment he was promoted: “Whenever an official is given the rank of captain in the army, he is usually made fun of,” he laughed.

Recalling his own experience, he said, “When I was about to become a captain, my entire unit teamed up to prank me. They took away my mobile phone and falsely accused me of breaking military rules.”

“I was locked in a room for two days and even shown fake letters from Army Headquarters saying I would be arrested,” he added.

Another officer described how military life has its own unique way of celebrating special occasions: “Whether it’s a wedding, birthday, or someone having a baby, we all dance together, and sometimes even end up fighting in the middle of the celebration,” he said, jokingly.

A short clip of host Tabish Hashmi also made waves online, where he playfully remarked: “I’m with the army today but the good news is, I’m here by my own free will.”

Saba Qamar didn’t post Eid pics and now we know why

While most celebrities flooded social media with their glammed-up Eid photos, actress Saba Qamar surprised fans by choosing silence, rest, and zero Eid content.

As curious fans flooded her inbox, wondering why she hadn’t posted any festive photos or stories, the actress finally broke her silence through a heartfelt Instagram note.

“My loves, I know so many of you were waiting to see my Eid look this time, and I just want to say… there wasn’t one. I didn’t wear anything special, didn’t dress up, and for once, I didn’t feel like I needed to.”

Explaining her decision, Saba Qamar shared that after months of relentless work and constant travel, her heart was quietly asking for a break and she chose to listen.

“This Eid, I chose rest. Pure, simple, soulful rest. I spent these three days lying down, oil in my hair, good food in front of me, quiet prayers in my heart, and a whole lot of healing.”

She emphasized the importance of pausing and reconnecting with oneself. “Sometimes, we have to pause, breathe, and come home to ourselves. This Eid, I did just that. No glam, no noise, just me-time.”

But fans need not worry Saba is ready to bounce back, “Now… I’m back in action starting tomorrow! And I promise, I’ll make it up to you all very soon. Thank you for always holding space for me for understanding, loving, and supporting me, even when I disappear for a bit.”

In a personal message to her followers, she added a gentle reminder, “Always listen to your heart when it whispers, ‘Rest.’”

  • Fahad Mustafa says that a woman suffering from dementia recognised him because of Jeeto Pakistan

Fahad Mustafa says that a woman suffering from dementia recognised him because of Jeeto Pakistan

Television host Fahad Mustafa shared a heartwarming moment with a fan with dementia, highlighting the far-reaching impact of his hit game show Jeeto Pakistan.

Appearing on ARY’s special Eid programme, Fahad revealed that the show has touched lives in deeply emotional and unexpected ways.

“An 80-year-old woman with dementia, who doesn’t even recognise her own children or husband, recognises me only because of Jeeto Pakistan,” he recalled.

“I was shocked. People who don’t understand anything else about the world still understand this show and love it.”

Dementia is a degenerative brain condition that impairs memory, thinking, and behaviour. Fahad’s account highlights how entertainment, particularly something as widely loved as Jeeto Pakistan, can leave lasting emotional imprints.

Reflecting on the show’s immense popularity, he added: “People have started chanting Jeeto Pakistan instead of Pakistan Zindabad. I really want to understand what’s so special about this show that it touches so many hearts.”

Fahad also addressed the topic of gender-based pay disparities in the entertainment industry. He dismissed the common perception that women are underpaid, stating, “It’s wrong to say women are underpaid. Actresses like Mahira Khan, Ayeza Khan, and Hania Aamir sometimes charge more than male actors. As a producer, I’ve paid them more when they deserved it.”

He emphasised that the amount depends on an artist’s talent and popularity, not gender: “It’s not possible for a newcomer to demand the same as a top star. That’s just not how the industry works.”

Fahad also revealed that he didn’t charge anything for his role in the 2018 blockbuster Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2.

“I didn’t take any payment for the film,” he said.

The sequel to the 2015 hit was produced by Humayun Saeed, who recently hinted at a possible third instalment. Fahad confirmed, “If Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 3 is made and I’m cast, I’ll definitely do it. I love the team, and I work in the series because I enjoy it, not to compete with anyone.”

“Humayun Saeed is bigger than me. I respect him deeply, and it’s always an honour to work with him,” he added.

“Even if I work in the third film, I still won’t take any payment.”

Looking ahead, Fahad teased two upcoming films, “I’m currently working on two movies. I’ll be acting in and producing both. One will release in 2026, and the other in 2027.”

He also hinted at a return to television dramas: “There’s a drama I’ve been reading the script of, and it’s actually really fun. I think I can play that character. Let’s see what happens.”

  • Ali Raza responds after Atiqa Odho’s viral advice to ‘wax your chest’

Ali Raza responds after Atiqa Odho’s viral advice to ‘wax your chest’

Actor Ali Raza has responded to Atiqa Odho’s criticism over his appearance in the drama Dastak, sparking debate over on-screen styling and double standards in the industry.

Atiqa criticised Raza’s clothing choices during a recent interview with Nadia Khan and Marina Khan, singling out his unbuttoned shirts. “Women are constantly instructed to wear long sleeves and follow strict wardrobe rules,” she said. “Why shouldn’t the same standards apply to men?”

She clarified that she didn’t object to bold styling in general, but questioned its relevance in family dramas. “What really bothers me in Dastak is Ali Raza’s partially unbuttoned shirt,” she said. “It’s not necessary to show a hairy chest on screen.”

The conversation then took a playful turn as she joked, “Please, do wax your chest. Hairy chests are the biggest turn-off. I can even take you to the salon. He’s a good actor, good-looking and all, but this is a big no-no.”

Marina Khan shared her opinions, citing Shamoon Abbasi and other male performers who have had comparable appearances on television.

Ali Raza later addressed the remarks while commenting on Instagram under a clip of the interview. He wrote: “Lagta hai baat toṛi galat jagah kar di inho ne. #AwamNhiChorayGy.”

His response received support from followers. One user replied, “Yes, nahi choray gy,” while another commented, “Ali, we just love the way you are.”

  • Haroon Rashid rates Love Guru: Glossy, charming but not fully convincing

Haroon Rashid rates Love Guru: Glossy, charming but not fully convincing

This summer’s major Pakistani release Love Guru has been receiving mixed reactions from fans and critics alike, and veteran BBC journalist Haroon Rashid has now shared his honest take on the film, calling it “largely enjoyable.”

In a detailed review on BBC Sounds, Haroon praised the chemistry between leads Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed.

“I thought the romance between Humayun and Mahira was really heartwarming. It was a sweet, simple premise, and I thoroughly enjoyed their performances.”

He added that Mahira brought an effortless charm to the screen:

“Without having to do much, she lights up the frame. I felt that radiate throughout the entire film.”

Haroon also appreciated Humayun’s versatility as an actor, “Humayun is such an experienced performer that he can very easily adapt to different characters.”

Addressing the criticism that the lead actors were “too old” for their roles, he disagreed. “They come with a wealth of experience and slide into those roles with absolute ease.”

He also praised the film’s high production value, noting that it looked “international, glossy, and cinematic,” especially when compared to the usual TV-style visuals often associated with Pakistani films.

However, not everything hit the mark. Haroon pointed out that the film felt unnecessarily long, “It could have been at least 30 minutes shorter. It dragged out in the second half.”

He also questioned the emotional arc of the storyline, “For a film built on a man cheating women, there wasn’t enough of a redemption arc to make the love story believable. I need to be convinced that a character has thoroughly learnt their lesson before they earn true happiness.”

Despite the flaws, Haroon concluded that he enjoyed Love Guru “to a large extent.”

Viewers echoed similar sentiments online. One fan commented, “Spot on! agree with the review”

Another added, “Exactly what I felt. The cinematography was amazing, but Humayun’s character was a red flag. Mahira’s character left a good fiancé without any real reason, there was no redemption for Humayun”

  • Rajab Butt named as accomplice in rape FIR against Salman Haider

Rajab Butt named as accomplice in rape FIR against Salman Haider

An First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against YouTuber Rajab Butt and his cousin Salman Haider. Haider faces accusations of rape, blackmail, and unlawful confinement, while Butt is alleged to have been an accomplice in locking the complainant and her sister.

According to the FIR lodged at Nawab Town Police Station by social media activist Ayesha Sharafat, the complainant became friends with Salman Haider through social media. They met frequently in public until an incident on August 16, 2024, when she alleges Salman invited her to his house in Bahria Orchard.

“Salman called me at 7 PM on August 16, 2024, and invited me to his house in Bahria Orchard. Due to trust, I agreed,” she stated in the FIR.

She further alleged that upon her arrival, Salman offered her a drink.

“He gave me juice that had been mixed with an intoxicating substance. After consuming it, I lost consciousness. When I regained awareness, I realized I had been raped; my shirt buttons were open,” she said.

“Fearing social stigma, I remained silent and did not inform my family,” she stated.

“Later, Salman contacted me again. When I refused to meet him, he began blackmailing me using an explicit video he had secretly filmed without my consent.”

“He also sent that video to my sister, Palwasha, which prompted both of us to confront him at his residence,” she added.

“We went to Salman’s house to stop him, but once there, Rajab Butt, Man Dogar, Jawad Haider, and Jahangir Butt, who were present with Salman, locked us in a room,” she alleged. “Jawad Haider snatched our mobile phones, reset them, and then threatened us before throwing us out.”

Earlier, in May, a video allegedly showing YouTuber Rajab Butt and his associates assaulting a young man went viral on social media. Following the incident, the victim filed a request for legal action at the Satu Katla Police Station. However, YouTuber Rajab Butt later issued an apology and termed the incident a misunderstanding. The victim accepted the apology, and both parties subsequently reconciled, leading to the withdrawal of the request.

  • ‘Allegations aren’t proof’: Nadia Hussain defends husband amid fraud controversy

‘Allegations aren’t proof’: Nadia Hussain defends husband amid fraud controversy

Actress Nadia Hussain has spoken out about the financial fraud charges her husband Atif Khan is facing. In a recent podcast interview, she addressed the issue candidly, emphasizing that accusations alone do not equate to guilt.

“There are allegations against my husband that are yet to be proven. He is not guilty,” Nadia stated firmly.

When asked about her husband’s arrest and the charges against him, she responded, “All around the world, a person is found guilty when allegations are proven. But in our country, people are declared guilty the moment allegations are made.”

She continued, “Anyone can allege anything. Those claims need to be proven in court. So far, nothing has been proven. It’s the judge and the court who must decide, not the media or social media users.”

She also revealed that her husband is currently out on bail, but “many complications arose during the process, which delayed the case.”

Denying any involvement in the alleged fraud, she said, “This is a matter of investigation. If there is a proper inquiry, God willing, justice will be served.”

Reflecting on the personal toll of the controversy, she added, “During this difficult time, I’ve seen the true faces of some people. They’re not friends or family, just professional acquaintances.”

Despite the challenges, Nadia expressed full faith in the legal system: “I trust the courts. And I believe many names will come to light as the case unfolds.”

Earlier, The Additional District and Sessions Judge (South) has reserved the verdict on the bail plea of Atif Khan, husband of actress Nadia Hussain, in a high-profile Rs530 million bank fraud case.

The verdict is expected to be announced on May 22.

Police allege that Atif Khan misused Rs530 million belonging to the Chief Executive Officer of a private company for personal business purposes.

    Earlier,

Renowned actress and model Nadia Hussain told the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) that she had no knowledge of any fraud involving her husband, Atif Khan, who is currently in FIA custody.

According to ARY News, Nadia gave her statement during a two-hour session with the FIA. She said her husband gave her money to start and expand her salon and spa business, but she never questioned where the money came from.

“I was never part of any fraud,” Nadia said.

She explained that her business is registered with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), and the money received from her husband was shown as a loan in her tax returns.

The FIA questioned Nadia about money transfers between her husband’s accounts and those of her salon. Investigators believe she received Rs26.4 million from her husband’s accounts, which was used to run her two salons. These transfers reportedly occurred 19 times since 2019.

The FIA claims Atif Khan misused Rs540 million from the company he worked for, causing a total loss of Rs1.2 billion. He allegedly passed off business losses to the bank and used over Rs110 million for personal expenses.

Nadia’s statement has been added to the case file, and she has been named a major beneficiary in the investigation.
