Here’s what Pak army did when an Indian woman crossed LoC for marriage

In the Eid Special episode of Tabish Hashmi’s show Hasna Mana Hai, Captain Ali recalled an incident in which a woman crossed the Line of Control (LoC) from Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) to get married in Pakistan.

The episode, which aired on Sunday, featured Lieutenant Colonel Ali, Major Asfandyar, Captain Sher Jang, Captain Ali, and Subedar Nazakat as guests, with several soldiers present in the audience.

“A woman who had contacts in Pakistan crossed the LoC into the country,” Captain Ali recounted, adding that she feared punitive action; however, the Pakistan Army treated her like a “sister”, and senior officers regarded her as a “daughter”.

He added that the Army helped arrange her marriage as per her wishes. “She is now living happily with her husband in Pakistan,” he said.

When host Tabish Hashmi asked whether the woman had crossed the LoC solely to get married, Captain Ali replied, “Yes.”

The show follows the success of Operation Bunyad-ul-Marsoos against Indian aggression.

‘He should be punished if guilty’: Father of Sana Yousaf’s killer breaks silence

Days after 17-year-old social media influencer Sana Yousaf was shot dead by a 22-year-old stalker, the father of the killer has broken silence, saying that his son should be punished if found guilty.

As per the details, father of murder suspect Umar Hayat alias Kaka has spoken out for the first time since after his son’s arrest, saying that he could not believe his son did it but if found guilty, he “should be punished as per law”.

In the interview, the father, Amjad, a retired 16th-grade government officer, denied all allegations against his son, insisting that Umar was not involved in drugs and had no history of inappropriate relationships.

He described the moment he learned about the murder, saying he only found out through a colleague who showed him the viral video. He admitted that, after seeing the footage, he recognised his son but still struggled to believe he could be responsible. “My heart does not accept that my son could do this,” Amjad said. He, however, made it clear that if his son is found guilty, he should face the full force of the law.

“If he is the culprit, he must be punished according to the law. I appeal for justice, not just for my son, but for the innocent girl who lost her life,” he said.

Amjad went on to reveal the toll the tragedy had taken on his family. “This house is eating me alive. I have lost everything,” he said, sharing how he had already lost one son and his wife years ago, and was now living alone, wondering if his only remaining son was a murderer.

The interview with a private media outlet comes days after his son, Kaka, was arrested for his alleged involvement in the murder of Sana Yousaf, who was shot dead at her home in Islamabad last week.

According to the police, the 17-year-old had repeatedly rejected Kaka’s advances and proposals, which led to the fatal shooting.

The suspect was apprehended by the police within 20 hours of the killing and later confessed to the crime.

  • Officer reveals how Indian army waved white flag within 30 minutes of Pakistani response

Officer reveals how Indian army waved white flag within 30 minutes of Pakistani response

The Eid special episode of Tabish Hashmi’s show Hasna Mana Hai, which aired on Sunday, featured Pakistan Army soldiers stationed at the Line of Control (LoC) in Rawalakot, where personnel recounted incidents from last month’s Pakistan-India escalation.

Tabish asked Lieutenant Colonel Ali about the time when the Indian Army raised the white flag in response to the Pakistani Army’s punishing fire. Lt Col Ali replied that the Indian Army raised the flag just half an hour after their post was hit.

“When we began punishing fire around 5:30 am, then around 6:00 am, a white flag was raised by the enemy from their posts,” he detailed.

When asked to describe what it meant to raise a white flag at the Line of Control (LOC), Lt. Col. explained that it is a symbol of “peace”, adding that waving a white flag amidst an adversary has other reasons too.

“One of the reasons for raising the white flag is [to indicate] that a post has been effectively hit by the counterpart, leading to casualties and rendering it ineffective. So, it’s a way to give the flag-raiser a respite and pause the war for a while,” he explained, adding that as a professional army that abides by international laws, the Pakistani Army ceased fire.

According to Lt. Col. Ali, at 11 am the same day, the Indian Army opened fire again, prompting the Pakistani forces to target their second post as well. “They raised the [white] flag again,” he added.

Lt. Col. added that the red flag is also used in wars, which means “warning”.

He then recounted that following the ceasefire on 11 May, soldiers from the enemy post, located approximately 150 metres from the Pakistani position, requested permission to fetch water after having run short following Pakistan’s retaliatory fire that severely damaged their post.

“We allowed them to get water,” he added.

The show follows the success of Operation Bunyam um Marsoos against India’s aggression.

The tension between the two nuclear-armed countries rose following the militant attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) in Pahalgam on April 22, killing 26 people, including a Nepalese national.

New Delhi blamed Pakistan for orchestrating the attack, without conducting investigations and offering evidence to date.

The tension flared further when the Indian Air Force (IAF), while breaching the sovereignty of Pakistan, launched a missile attack in Bahawalpur, Muridke, and other cities in the Kashmir region on the night of May 6-7. The cowardly act prompted the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) to shoot down multiple fighter jets, including Rafales.

Following the international humiliation, India opened fire at the LOC, killing innocent civilians.

The military standoff ended after the US intervened and brokered the ceasefire between New Delhi and Islamabad on May 10.

‘Her own mistake’: Journalist victim blames Sana Yousaf for getting murdered

Journalist Naeem Hanif on Saturday appeared to victim-blame 17-year-old social media influencer Sana Yousaf, who was shot dead in Islamabad on June 2 by a man whose proposals she repeatedly rejected.

“Suspect [Kaka] is a social media expert and Sana Yousaf had been getting help from him for the past six to eight months to promote her social media accounts,” Hanif claimed in a podcast on YouTube channel RNN TV.

The journalist further said that as Hayat was assisting in promoting Sana’s social media account, they exchanged phone numbers.

He then said that Sana was killed by her “own mistake” provided that she was sharing locations on TikTok continuously. He added that when the suspect confessed his love to Sana, she then decided to get rid of him.

Additionally, Hanif said that on Sana’s birthday (May 29), the suspect reached Islamabad to contact her; however, she did not give any attention to him.

“When you are posting every second of your location on TikTok, then your location is not secret,” the journalist opined.

Omar Hayat aka Kaka, 22,  murdered 17-year-old Sana Yousaf at her house in G-13. He was arrested from Faisalabad within 20 hours of the incident. The victim’s mobile phone and the murder weapon were also recovered from his possession.

“The ruthless killer took the phone with him after the murder to destroy evidence. In order to apprehend the accused, raids were conducted at over 11 locations in three cities. The accused is a 22-year-old unemployed man who repeatedly attempted to contact the victim. Upon her refusal to respond, he committed the murder,” said Inspector General of Police (IGP) in Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi during a presser on June 3.

He added that the killer had tried to reach out to Sana at least seven to eight times.

The police chief stated that Sana repeatedly rejected the boy’s offers to become friends. She also rejected his marriage proposals.

“On May 29, which was Sana’s birthday, he tried contacting her. He tried for seven to eight hours to get in touch with her, including going to her home,” the IG said.

Ali Nasir Rizvi gave out other details of the murder, including that Sana was killed by two gunshots around 5 pm on June 2. The gun that killed her and her iPhone were recovered by the police from Kaka’s possession.

NA speaker thanks Saudi Arabia for its support to Pakistan during ‘difficult times’

National Assembly (NA) Speaker Ayaz Sadiq met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and thanked Riyadh for its ongoing support to Pakistan during “difficult times”, a statement released by the NA Secretariat said.

As per the details, the Saudi crown prince hosted a luncheon in honour of Muslim leaders visiting the Kingdom for Hajj, which was also attended by NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq and Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori.

Mohammad Bin Salman expressed his commitment to addressing the challenges being faced by the Muslim world.

The speaker, during his interaction with the crown prince, said that Saudi Arabia had always stood by Pakistan during difficult times, adding that the country was grateful for the clear stance of the Kingdom’s leadership on matters concerning Pakistan.

Sadiq expressed hope that bilateral ties between the brotherly nations would be further enhanced.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, the Sindh governor said, “I am deeply grateful to the Saudi leadership, especially the crown prince, for inviting me as a royal guest on the sacred journey of Hajj.”

Commending the exemplary arrangements for the pilgrims and the services rendered for the Muslim Ummah, Tessori added that he also extended an invitation for the Saudi crown prince to visit Pakistan.

The event took place two days after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir visited Saudi Arabia.

During the visit, the crown prince personally welcomed PM Shehbaz and even drove him to a royal luncheon held in his honour at the Royal Court.

‘Pakistan has very strong leadership’; Trump reiterates his mediation in Pak-Ind conflict

US President Donald Trump has reiterated his role in mediation in the recent Pakistan-India armed conflict while commending Islamabad’s leadership.

“I want to congratulate both countries. The leader of India is a great guy. We are doing a trade deal. And Pakistan likewise has very strong leadership. Some people won’t like it when I say that, but it is what it is,” President Trump said while speaking at a White House event alongside German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

“I told them we are not going to deal with you on trade if you go shooting each other and whipping out nuclear weapons that maybe even affect us, because nuclear dust does blow across the ocean very quickly […] I got that war stopped,” he added.

Trump again said that he is “very proud” of stopping the skirmish between nuclear-armed countries Pakistan and India, adding that tensions were “getting close to being out of hand”.

He then sarcastically asked, “Now will they give me credit? They won’t give me credit for anything. But nobody else could have stopped it. I was proud of that.”

Following the militants’ attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) in Pahalgam on April 22, New Delhi accused Islamabad of orchestrating the attack without offering any evidence or conducting an investigation into the incident.

However, Pakistan repeatedly denied its involvement in the incident, demanding an international transparent probe.

On the night of May 6-7, India launched air-to-surface missiles into Pakistan’s cities, including Bahawalpur and Muridke, killing several innocent civilians, including children.

After at least 87 hours, the war between the two nuclear-armed nations ended on May 10 with a ceasefire agreement brokered by the United States.

“After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a full and immediate ceasefire,” Trump had said in a post on Truth Social on May 10.

“Congratulations to both countries on using common sense and great intelligence,” he added.

Major Pakistani wins that isolated India after clashes

Islamabad has secured a major diplomatic win on the global stage, while New Delhi faces global isolation following the Pakistan-India conflict last month.

    Pakistan appointed on key roles

Pakistan has been appointed to pivotal roles in the subsidiary bodies of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on Wednesday, including chair of the UNSC’s 1988 Taliban Sanctions Committee and vice-chair of the Counter-Terrorism Committee.

These committees are responsible for overseeing the implementation of sanctions, including asset freezes, travel restrictions, and arms embargoes, on individuals and groups that pose a threat to peace and stability in the region.

IMF, ADB approve billions of dollars for Pakistan

Key international financial institutions have aligned support in quick succession to Pakistan, including the International Monetary Fund (IMF) approving a $1B tranche disbursement on May 9 and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) approving $800M on June 3.

The disbursement was approved under the ongoing Extended Fund Facility (EFF) and allowed an additional arrangement for the $1.4 billion Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF). This was done at a time when Pak-India tension was at its peak.

ADB approved an $800 million programme to strengthen fiscal sustainability and improve public financial management in Pakistan earlier this week.

Foreign policy is at its strongest in decades

While no country came out in support of New Delhi, including its traditional friend Russia, Pakistan’s allies China, Azerbaijan, and Turkey openly backed Islamabad while it was defending its sovereignty and integrity.

After the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) shot down six Indian fighter jets, including Gen 4.5  Rafales, a $4.2 billion deal for the acquisition of JF-17 Thunder Block III aircraft, jointly produced by Pakistan and China, was reportedly signed between Baku and Islamabad, media outlets reported last month.

According to reports, Azerbaijan is expanding its initial purchase of JF-17 Thunder Block III fighter jets, increasing the number from 16 to a striking 40 units.

Conversely, India’s foreign policy remains flawed. Canada has not extended an invitation to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the G-7 summit, to be held from June 15 to 17 in Kananaskis, Alberta.

G-7 is a grouping of seven of the world’s richest countries, comprising the US, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Canada and Japan. However, India has been invited to join the summit every year since 2019.

  • Famous Pakistani food brand brings chutneys to Costco

Famous Pakistani food brand brings chutneys to Costco

A new product sampling roadshow at Costco Canada is garnering attention not just for its flavours but also for its Pakistani origins.

National Foods, a Pakistani company known for its packaged spices, sauces, and chutneys, has launched a six-week tour showcasing its dipping sauces at select Costco outlets.

The tour began at the Mississauga warehouse (3180 Laird Rd), where it will continue until June 8. Two additional locations are planned for the upcoming weeks at Thorncliffe Park-42 Overlea Blvd –June 10 to June 22, and Kingston-1015 Centennial Dr- June 24 to July 6.

Shoppers can sample and purchase any four bottles of sauce for $8.99. The flavours offered, organised by spice level, include Mango Chilli, Chilli Garlic, Tangy Tamarind, Red Chilli, and Green Chilli. The sampling area has attracted a consistent number of visitors, with customers adding bottles to their carts alongside fast food items like chicken fingers and fries.

A video shared by @costcomarkhameast on Instagram captures the excitement around the booth. In the comments, numerous viewers acknowledged the brand’s roots, calling it a “proud moment” and highlighting the prominence of a Pakistani brand at an international retail chain.

One user remarked, “Wow, it’s from Pakistan,” while another said, “Congratulation National, it’s about time.”

Founded in Karachi in 1970, National Foods has grown to be one of Pakistan’s leading food brands. Its products are already sold in a number of countries at South Asian grocery stores, but this Costco roadshow presents the brand to a broader, more diverse audience.

For many members of the Pakistani community abroad, the sauces represent more than just flavour; they evoke a sense of familiarity and recognition. The inclusion of a locally established Pakistani brand at Costco signifies a moment of cultural visibility through food, in a space that seldom showcases South Asian companies on this scale.

  • Malir Jail escapee records video message before committing suicide

Malir Jail escapee records video message before committing suicide

A 25-year-old inmate who escaped during the mass jailbreak at District Jail Malir earlier this week has died by suicide in Madni Colony in  Karachi’s Mauripur.

Police identified the deceased as Raza, a resident of Ranchore Line.

Police were alerted after the body was found, and the deceased was shifted to Civil Hospital, Karachi, for medico-legal formalities.

SHO Sardar Ali Abbasi of the Mauripur Police Station claims that Raza was in his sister’s house when he died.

He is believed to have taken his own life while alone in the house.

Raza was incarcerated at Malir Jail on March 30, 2022, in connection with a drug case that was filed at the Eidgah police station.

The jailbreak, which took place between Tuesday and Wednesday night, resulted in the escape of more than 200 inmates, including Raza.

126 escapees have voluntarily returned or been re-arrested thus far.

Police are searching Karachi for the at least 90 prisoners who are still on the lose.

A video statement recorded by Raza shortly before his death has been found. In the video, Raza says, “We all climbed over each other to get out while gunfire erupted inside the jail. I thought it was an earthquake.”

He further adds, “I was injured while escaping. I walked around the whole night, and then a man took me to Civil Hospital.” He also adds that he is innocent.

He says he spent the night there before returning to his family.

Raza’s suicide has raised serious questions about the psychological condition of the escapees and the management of the prison system.
