Want a job in Rubab’s company? You might have to kill Adeel first

Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum has captured audiences with its gripping storyline, and the character played by Naeema Butt is one of the most discussed roles in the drama.

In a recent interview on ARY Digital, she was asked the most-searched Google questions about her character.

When asked about how to get a job in Rubab’s company, Butt jokingly said, “For that, you’d have to kill Adeel because I’m not going to offer jobs just like that. It’s just about love.”

Another question was also asked, “How do you get hair like Rubab.”

“First of all, it’s important to acknowledge that I am a creation of Allah, as we all are. Secondly, it’s about your genes and who your parents are, so choose good parents if you can. Thirdly, maintaining a good diet is essential. Whenever I try to lose weight and don’t eat enough carbs, my hair becomes thin. It’s important to have a balanced diet that includes proteins, carbs, and fibre. Vitamins play a significant role. I take biotin and collagen, which help with hair health. Don’t forget to drink plenty of water, manage your stress levels, and get enough sunlight for that vitamin D”, Butt explained.

As for Rubab’s accent, Naeema said, “Well, it can be any accent you like: British, American, Pakistani, or even a blend. It’s all about Rubab’s style.”

Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum is written by Farhat Ishtiaq and directed by Badar Mehmood.

The drama airs every Monday and Tuesday at 8:00 PM on ARY Digital.

    Imran Khan

The former prime minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, has applied to run for the next chancellor of the University of Oxford. Syed Zulfi Bukhari confirmed that Khan’s application for the October election has been submitted. The former prime minister will face competition from several other well-known contenders, including Tony Blair and Boris Johnson, two former prime ministers of the United Kingdom.

Unlike his competitors, Imran Khan will be running for the chancellor’s seat from a prison cell. He was found guilty of leaking state secrets and given a 10-year sentence. A recent UN report found that his detention was illegal and against international law. Khan was arrested in May 2023 and has been involved in over 150 legal cases. The UN has called for Khan’s immediate release following his removal from power in April 2022, supported by the military’s no-confidence vote.

    Oxford Chancellor Election Date

Imran studied philosophy, politics, and economics before earning his degree from Oxford in 1975. He is the most famous person in Pakistan and has held multiple reputable titles throughout his 71-year life. He was captain of Pakistan’s cricket team, which won the 1992 World Cup. Boris Johnson

Boris Johnson has also applied for an Oxford University chancellor’s post. He has previously demanded that the college bear Margaret Thatcher’s name. His chances are little, though, as he has spent the last ten years upsetting the same class of bourgeois metropolitanate who will cast ballots in the election.

Is Imran Khan eligible to run for the Oxford University Chancellor’s seat?

Imran Khan has held honors for the university’s cricket team and was chancellor of the University of Board for eight years. In the 1970s, he studied philosophy, economics, and politics at Oxford’s Keble College. He was also captain when Pakistan’s men’s cricket team won the World Cup in 1992.

Candidates for the Oxford chancellorship had to be in person in Oxford and wear academic attire to vote. However, new regulations that permit online nominations and voting have made Khan’s candidacy easier.

The following will be the exclusion standards for the position of Chancellor, and they will all be applicable as of the time the position is filled:

    • The Chancellor should not be a university student.
    • The chancellor is not permitted to work for the university.

  • Pakistan eSports Federation under fire for dropping team ASi8 from WEC 2024

Pakistan eSports Federation under fire for dropping team ASi8 from WEC 2024

    New Update:

Pakistan eSports Federation has apologised for the earlier miscommunication regarding Pakistan’s representation at WEC 2024. The final decision between ASI8 and 52 Esports will be made after the PMGC 2024 draws tomorrow.

PESF stated, “We apologize for any misunderstanding caused byOur previous announcement. It was mistakenlyConveyed that 52 esports would be representing Pakistan at the wec 2024 in riyadh. We would like to Clarify that it has not yet been confirmed which team Will represent pakistan. We are awaiting the final pmgc 2024 draw results. Once those are released, we will be able to confirm Whether as18 or another team, potentially 52 esports Will be participating in the wec.”

“We hope for the best outcome and extend our best Wishes to both teams. Thank you for your patience, And we will provide updates as soon as we have Official confirmation. Best of luck to as18 and 52 Esports from all of us!”

    Previous Update:

Pakistan eSports Federation (PESF) has replaced Pakistan PUBG Mobile team ASi8 with another team, 52 eSports, for the World eSports Championship (WEC) 2024 without any official confirmation.

As per the details, Team Asi8 topped the Pakistan as well as regional qualifiers for the WEC whereas 52 was in the 2nd spot. However, the federation decided to replace Asi8, prompting severe criticism from the gaming community, including the owner of the Asi8, Shehbaz Mengal.

    Why did this happen?

Team Asi8 has qualified for the WEC and PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC), and both events are scheduled for November of this year. PMGC will start from October 31 to December 8, while WEC is planned for November 11 to November 18.

A total of 48 teams around the world participated in the PMGC, and the event was divided into three groups (Group Yellow, Green and Red) with 16 teams in each. Group stage matches of PMGC will start from October 30 to November 16, but the dates for each group have yet to be announced.

The groups will be announced on Thursday, October 17.

How can Asi8 play both events (WEC and PMGC)?

If team i8 is placed in the yellow or green group in PMGC, their matches could end before November 11 (Before starting WEC), and they could easily participate in WEC.

    PESF statement on WEC 2024:

PESF announced on October 15, “We regret to inform our community that team asi8, The champions of both our national qualifiers and the Regional qualifiers for week 2024, will not be able to represent Pakistan at the world esports Championship (we) in Riyadh this year. Asi8 is Facing a scheduling conflict due to its participation On page 2024, which overlaps with the week 2024 dates. As per the official rules, the second-place team from Our national qualifiers will step in to represent Pakistan. We are proud to announce that 52 esports Who secured the runner-up position will be taking Asi8’s place at WC 2024. We have full confidence in 52 esports, who have shown exceptional skill throughout the qualifiers. We Hope they continue to represent Pakistan’s talent on The global stage. Asi8’s achievements are highly appreciated, and we wish them success. We look forward To seeing both teams make us proud. Let’s support 52 esports as they carry our flag in Riyadh!”

    Criticism of PESF:

Team Asi8 owner TRYNDA (Shehbaz Mengal) shared an Instagram story stating, “Regarding the IESF tournament, initially, PESF officials told us not to use the AS logo on our jerseys. If we wanted to use it, we’d have to get AS to sponsor PESF separately because it’s PESF’s slot, not i8’s. I discussed this with IESF, but they said it’s our federation’s decision.”

“I then requested permission. PESF officials stated that any sponsors would pay them to select a lineup representing our country, not i8. However, the prize leveraging my experience as a pool would be i8’s. We agreed to this. Later, they asked us to choose between PMGC and the World Cup due to scheduling conflicts. I requested confirmation of dates, but they didn’t know the exact dates. However, they responded that it was their slot, and I had no say in it. At least they should have waited for the PMGC draws or permitted us to create a lineup that can perform internationally. After all, sponsors pay PESF, and prize money goes to players; we don’t benefit but enhance our country’s reputation,” he further added.

Another eSports creator, TeenWolf, stated on Instagram, “Unprofessional, team ka slot ha apna slot banaya hua hai.”

What are the team stats, and which team should participate in WEC?

Team i8 has been one of the best teams in Pakistan in the last few years and has won many national events, including (PMCO 2021, PMPL Fall 2022, PMPL Sring 2023, PMPL Fall 2023) and PMCO South Asia. Asi8 has already participated in PMGC 2022 and 2023. In PMGC 2022, i8 made an unbelievable comeback of the event’s history in the last match of the survival stage.

On the other hand, 52 won PMPL Pakistan spring 2022 and qualified for the PMWI 2022, where they finished in the last spot.

We don’t have any issue with Team 52 as they will represent the Pakistani flag on the global stage in WEC, but PESF should have waited for the official announcement and dates of the PMGC group stage matches.

Also, the slot for WEC was won by team i8, so PESF should have asked the team asi8 owner if they wanted to withdraw from the WEC or permitted them to make another lineup under their tag.

  • Jemima’s heartfelt appeal for Imran Khan draws global attention

Jemima’s heartfelt appeal for Imran Khan draws global attention

In an interesting development, Jemima Goldsmith, the former wife of Imran Khan, took to X (formerly Twitter) on October 15 to write a long post showing serious concerns about restrictions on Khan and his health in prison.

“The Pakistan authorities have stopped all visits to him by his family and his lawyers. They have also postponed all court hearings. He is now completely isolated, in solitary confinement, literally in the dark, with no contact with the outside world. His lawyers are concerned about his safety and well-being,” warned Jemima in a post that garnered global attention.

Her post comes amidst PTI’s postponement of October 15 protest in D-Chowk after government allowed a team of doctors to visit Khan in jail to allay the party’s concerns about his health.

PTI had set a condition for calling off its protest on October 15, which coincided with the day Pakistan was set to host the SCO summit in Islamabad.

There was internal opposition, including by CM KP Ali Amin Gandapur and Barrister Gohar Ali, in the PTI for announcing the protest on the same day as the SCO summit was going to take place. While some leaders, including Hammad Azhar and Salman Akram, advocated for holding the protest in any case.

Last night, Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar posted on X that former Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan was in good health after doctor teams examined him.

“We were informed a while ago that Alhamdulillah, Khan Saab is in good health and had exercised for an hour today. We shall get medical reports from them soon, and I will share with you, InshaAllah,” wrote Barrister Gohar Ali Khan.

However, in a twist to the story, PTI leader Salman Akram Raja last night posted on X: “Dr. Asim Yusuf returned immediately from abroad yesterday on my request. Today they stood outside Adiala Jail for hours. He was not allowed to meet Khan Sahib. Basic human behavior and the sentiments of millions of people were mocked.”

Similarly, another PTI leader, Meher Bano Qureshi, also shared concerns about the credibility of the government-appointed team of doctors that visited Imran Khan in Adiala Jail on Tuesday morning.

She wrote on X: “Dr. Asim was not allowed to meet Imran Khan today, he was kept waiting in the prison and had to leave without meeting Imran Khan. There have been serious concerns regarding his wellbeing and safety in prison and while we are being told he was seen to by two doctor’s from PIMs, how can we just take their word? Medical Reports are awaited. A better step would have been to grant Dr Faisal access. The government has shown little character or responsibility whilst PTI has shown great flexibility and maturity. Let that be known.”

Furthermore, Jemima Khan also wrote: “These actions come in the context of ongoing targeting of Imran’s family, as well as his party (PTI) members and supporters in an attempt to silence them and all political opposition in Pakistan.”

Her post, as of now, has 7.5 million views, 78 thousand likes and 59 thousand re-tweets. Some of the notables who showed support to Jemima’s post include Piers Morgan and George Galloway.

She also drew criticism from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders and supporters.

  • Is Ben Stoke Has Returned to the Playing XI?

Is Ben Stoke Has Returned to the Playing XI?

Pakistan and England are playing the second Test match at the Multan Cricket Stadium. Today is the second day of the five-day game. England’s captain, Ben Stoke, is back in this match. He was out of their first Test due to being unfit.

He went down with an injury in August during the Hundred. And Ollie Pope replaced him as England’s captain. Gus Atkinson and Chris Woakes were rested for the game, and Seamer Matthew Potts was included in the starting lineup for the first time since August.

Kamran Ghulam took the test cap for the first time on the second test. He got the cap after playing 59 first-class matches and scoring 4377 runs.

As they clinched victory against Pakistan in the first Test by an innings and 47 runs, the three-match series will have the last match in Rawalpindi starting from 24 October 2022.

Moreover, Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Naseem Shah were excluded from the squad for the second test match.

    Ben Stoke

Ben Stokes Reaction to Babar Azam’s Unexpected Withdrawal

The England captain said, “Everything on that, that’s Pakistan cricket issue. Nothing to do with me.”

This is Babar Azam’s first drop from the Pakistan team. He has been kept from Aquad since his debut against Zimbabwe in Lahore in 2015 and after his Test debut against the West Indies the following year.

Matthew Vaughan also criticized the Pakistan Cricket Board for excluding Babar Azam from stepping into the PAK vs. ENG tests since he arrived. He is the ex-captain of the England cricket team.  Demonstrating his opinion on social media, Vaughan wrote, “absolutely stupid decision” to exclude the best player.

At this point, the former Pakistan captain is the number one ODI batsman and is in position four among T20 batters.

Ben Stokes Surprised Over Same Pitch for 2nd Test

England Test captain Ben Stokes is slightly surprised at Pakistan’s decision to use the same pitch for the second Test match. The first test match was played at Multan, which they lost by an inning.

“But I also confess that there will come a time when a used pitch will be the order of the day, and it will be for the good of the game in most instances. Using the used pitch brings much more into the game for both teams. If it spins and reverses more, both teams have more options. It could be a tactic. I’ve never seen the same pitch being used for back-to-back games.”

    Pakistan Playing XI:

Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, Shan Masood (captain), Kamran Ghulam, Saud Shakeel (vice-captain), Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Salman Ali Agha, Aamir Jamal, Noman Ali, Sajid Khan and Zahid Mehmood

    England Playing XI:

Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes (captain), Jamie Smith (wk), Brydon Carse, Matt Potts, Jack Leach and Shoaib Bashir

‘Our only star power’: Umer Aalam praises Fahad Mustafa and Humayun Saeed

Humayun Saeed and Fahad Mustafa are two of the biggest stars in the Pakistani entertainment industry these days.

Actor and model Umer Aalam made a guest appearance on the ‘FHM podcast’ and shared his thoughts on the current state of stardom in the entertainment industry.

“The only star power we have right now is with Fawad bhai, Humayun bhai, and these other guys, these are the stars.

“Only once they step aside can others step up. I mean, we don’t even need to replace them yet because we don’t have anyone ready to take their place,” he said.

The host, Adnan Faisal, asked, “Who will replace them?” to which Raqs-e- Bismil actor replied, “I’m telling you, it might be someone right in front of you, maybe not now, but time will tell. These people have put a lot of work and time into this industry. In my opinion, no one can easily replace them just like that, but to become a star, you need a huge body of work behind you. You don’t just become a star overnight.”

Talking about the drama serial Gentlemen, Aalam praised its high production.

“The work was good, the story is solid, the people are great, and the production is top-notch, but, for some reason, it hasn’t fully clicked yet. Maybe it will once the proper love story starts because, in dramas, it usually picks up after around the eighth or ninth episode. It’s rare for a drama to take off right from the first episode”, he added.

Currently, Fahad Mustafa is starring in Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, while Humayun Saeed has wrapped up his drama Gentlemen, the last episode of which has already aired.

  • Punjab College breaks silence on alleged rape incident

Punjab College breaks silence on alleged rape incident

As protests continue over the alleged rape of a student at a Punjab College campus in Lahore, the educational institution has finally broken silence for the first time since an initial statement issued two days ago.

As per the details, a first-year student at Campus 10 of Punjab Group of Colleges in Lahore was allegedly raped by a security guard in the basement of the institution last week. With details of the alleged rape making it to social media, protests broke out in Lahore. At least 27 students were injured in a clash between the protesting students and Punjab Police.

Amid conflicting reports regarding the facts of the incident, which the government and college administration claim that it never even occurred, an official at Punjab College, on the condition of anonymity, has blamed the government for worsening the situation.

“The education minister made those statements in heat of the moment and now there is another interview of him where he is saying that both sides have contradictory version of events,” the official said while referring to Education Minister Rana Sikander Hayat who had gone to meet the protesting students on Monday and suggested that the rape really did take place.

Despite the minister backtracking on his statement later in the day, social media was flooded with unverified claims regarding the facts of the case with protesters quoting the minister and alleging a coverup at the hands of college authorities as well as the government.

“A roll call was carried of all female students of Campus 10 and we spoke to them either directly or with one of their parents. All confirmed that they were unharmed and had not been subjected to any form of violence or assault,” the Punjab College official added.

Meanwhile, another statement issued by Punjab College affirmed that the administration was reaching out to people posting regarding the incident to explain their side of the story.

“We are reaching out to people who are posting about it to make sure they know and understand what is happening,” the statement read, adding that the college had handed over CCTV footage to the police besides facilitating police access to the accused security guard for further investigation.

Shedding light on the issue of “silencing” the students and calling police to arrest them, the statement said, “Teachers tried to communicate with students, and that was perceived as students being silenced. They were allowed to protest in the campus as well but police became involved when things got out of hand.”

Punjab College administration also expressed their disappointment on social media flare over the issue, saying, “The issue has taken a life of its own on social media, and people are being harmed on the ground because of false information being shared. If anything surfaces, we will take action required on our end but nothing of the sort has happened.”

Lahore Police, on the other hand, also shared a video of ASP Sheharbano Naqvi with the father of the alleged victim, stating that his daughter was injured after a fall at home, and she was admitted to hospital after that.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has also formed a high-level seven-member committee to investigate the alleged rape of a student at the college.
The investigation committee will be chaired by Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, who has been tasked to present findings of the alleged rape incident before the CM within 48 hours.
