Cristiano Ronaldo hints at retiring from football

Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has hinted at soon retiring from professional football.

Ronaldo, who currently plays for Saudi club Al Nassr, revealed during an interview with British host Piers Morgan that he was thinking about stepping away from the game to spend more time with his family and prepare for the next phase of his life.

“It will be very difficult because nothing compares to the joy football gives me. But everything has a beginning and an end. I want more time for myself, my family and to raise my children,” the 40-year-old said.

Ronaldo shared that he has been planning his post-football life since he was 25 or 26, saying he felt mentally ready to handle the pressure that comes with retirement.

“There are many things in life I still want to experience,” he said, adding that football gave him a unique kind of happiness, but he knew leaving at the right time was important.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner said he now wants to focus on his children and personal life after spending most of his years traveling and playing football around the world.

Ronaldo also confidently ranked himself above the Inter Miami forward.

When Morgan asked if Messi was better than him, the 39-year-old immediately replied, “Is Messi better than me? I disagree. I don’t want to be humble.”

Despite his bold claim, Ronaldo said he has great respect for Messi, noting that their rivalry helped both of them achieve greatness. He has praised the Argentine on several occasions, even saying that he would like to have dinner with him someday.

The two football legends have dominated the sport for more than 17 years, battling for Ballon d’Or titles, breaking goal-scoring records, and defining an era of modern football.

With his latest brace for Al Nassr, Ronaldo now has 952 career goals, just 48 away from his dream milestone.

Messi, meanwhile, has 891 goals, trailing his longtime rival by 61, though he remains the only one between the two to have lifted the FIFA World Cup for his country.

Ronaldo began his professional career with Sporting CP in 2002 before achieving global fame with Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus. Now, as one of football’s greatest icons, he continues to inspire millions while preparing for life beyond the game.

Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza and West Indies’ Roston Chase sit behind Saim in the second and third spots on the all-rounders’ table.

The half wig is more than a style accessory; it is a tool for self-expression, allowing women to confidently experiment with their appearance without long-term commitment.

    How Wigs Boost Confidence

Wigs, particularly high-quality options like OhMyPretty Burmese Curly and Half Wigs, do more than enhance style—they empower. Here’s how:

    1. Immediate Transformation

There’s a unique sense of empowerment in seeing an instant change in your appearance. Whether it’s fuller curls, added volume, or a completely new look, wigs provide immediate visual transformation that can uplift your mood and self-esteem.

    2. Hair Protection

Many women struggle with hair damage due to frequent styling, heat, or chemical treatments. Protective wigs allow your natural hair to rest and grow while giving you the flexibility to maintain a fresh, stylish look. This dual benefit reinforces confidence by ensuring your hair remains healthy underneath.

    3. Versatility

Confidence comes from choice, and wigs provide a wide range of styling options without permanence. With OhMyPretty Burmese Curly Wigs and Half Wigs, you can experiment with new textures, lengths, and styles whenever you want—boosting self-assurance through creative expression.

    4. Consistency and Reliability

Life can be unpredictable, but a high-quality wig guarantees a consistent, polished appearance every day. Knowing you can rely on your wig to look natural and glamorous reduces stress and boosts your overall confidence.

Choosing the Right Wig for You

Selecting the perfect OhMyPretty wig involves considering your lifestyle, personal style, and hair goals. Here’s a simple guide:

    • Full Burmese Curly Wig: Ideal for those who want a complete style makeover or a fully protective option. Perfect for special events, daily wear, or transitioning hair from damaging practices.

    • Half Wig: Perfect for a natural, blended look that allows your own hairline to shine. Best for everyday convenience, quick styling, and flexible volume control.

    • Length and Density: Opt for medium or high density if you prefer voluminous, statement curls. For a softer, everyday look, medium density provides manageable fullness.

Texture Match: Consider your natural hair texture when choosing a wig to ensure seamless blending and authenticity. Burmese curly wigs pair beautifully with naturally curly or coily hair.

    Caring for Your OhMyPretty Wigs

Proper care extends the life and beauty of your wig while preserving its natural texture. Key tips include:

    1. Gentle Detangling: Use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers before washing.

    2. Moisturize Regularly: Keep curls hydrated with leave-in conditioner or lightweight oils.

    3. Use Sulfate-Free Shampoo: Clean gently without stripping moisture.

    4. Air Dry When Possible: Helps maintain curl definition and longevity.

    5. Proper Storage: Use a wig stand or silk bag to avoid tangling and maintain shape.

With these steps, your OhMyPretty wig will remain soft, bouncy, and ready to wear at any time.

The right hairstyle has a remarkable ability to enhance self-esteem. OhMyPretty Burmese Curly Wigs and Half Wigs are designed not just for beauty but for empowerment. • Pakistan to witness stunning ‘Beaver Supermoon’ tonight

Pakistan to witness stunning ‘Beaver Supermoon’ tonight

People across Pakistan will witness the breathtaking Beaver Supermoon tonight, the biggest and brightest full moon of 2025.

Astronomers say the moon will come as close as 356,980 kilometers (about 221,817 miles) to Earth and will shine at its peak brightness at 6:19 pm Pakistan time. The rare sight will be visible across the world, including Pakistan.

Experts explain that although the distance difference between the moon and Earth is not easily noticeable to the naked eye, a supermoon appears about 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than a regular full moon. Tonight’s supermoon will look 9.7 percent bigger and 16 percent brighter than usual. It is the second of three consecutive supermoons in 2025, following October’s and preceding December’s.

A supermoon occurs when the full moon aligns with its closest point to Earth, known as perigee. This phenomenon happens three to four times a year, but tonight’s supermoon is the closest and brightest of them all.

The name Beaver Moon comes from ancient Native American and European traditions. During this time of the year, beavers prepare for winter by building dams, while hunters used to set traps for their fur. The full moon in this season was therefore called the Beaver Moon.

Australia names 15-member squad for England Test

Australia has announced a 15-member squad for the first Test against England in Perth later this month, with Steve Smith set to captain the side in the absence of injured Pat Cummins.

According to reports, Travis Head has been named vice-captain for the side with chairman of selectors George Bailey saying the squad provides a good balance.

The final playing XI will be confirmed closer to the match, he added.

While three players, namely Jake Weatherald, Brendan Doggett and Sean Abbott, have earned their first Test call-ups, Weatherald is being considered to open alongside Usman Khawaja.

Marnus Labuschagne is also an option at the top.

All-rounders Cameron Green and Beau Webster have returned to the side while Alex Carey will take charge behind the stumps with Josh Inglis as backup. Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc, Scott Boland and Nathan Lyon make up the bowling attack.

Bailey said Cummins is recovering from a back injury and could return later in the series. He praised Weatherald’s consistent domestic performances and his fit within the team’s batting lineup.

Sam Konstas, who opened for Australia in the West Indies earlier this year, missed selection after struggling in domestic cricket this season.

The first Test will be played at Optus Stadium from November 21 to 25, followed by matches in Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.

England will arrive with Ben Stokes leading a 16-man squad, featuring Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley as openers.

  • Deputy PM, finance minister hail Pakistan’s growing tech potential after Chromebook assembly line launch

Deputy PM, finance minister hail Pakistan’s growing tech potential after Chromebook assembly line launch

Deputy Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb among others have highlighted the country’s growing potential in the technology and maritime sectors, hailing the launch of Google Chromebook assembly line in Pakistan aimed at making the country an export hub.

Pakistan’s first Google Chromebook assembly line was on Tuesday launched in a ceremony attended by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar who termed it “a defining moment” in the country’s digital transformation.

The new assembly line, located at the National Radio & Tele¬com¬munications Corpora¬tion’s (NRTC) Haripur facility, will produce up to 500,000 Chrome¬books annually.

These devices will be high-quality, secure, and affordable and tailored specifically for educational and public sector use.

Google has unveiled plans to deepen its local presence to provide on-the-ground support to Pakistani businesses, helping them scale their operations and reach global markets.

Speaking at the occasion, Dar said the ‘Digital Nation Pakistan’ vision reflected the government’s resolve to empower youth with digital skills, equip them with modern tools and ensure equal access to opportunities.

He said that under a strategic memorandum of understanding, Google and Pakistan would “collaborate to provide skills training for 100,000 developers nationwide while also developing targeted programmes for the gaming and startup industries”.

“Together, we will also advance localised AI-powered solutions, such as Android services for public safety and offer 100,000 Google Careers certificates to equip Pakistanis with world-class digital training and globally recognised credentials.”

Speaking at a summit in Karachi, the finance minister emphasised the need to equip youth with digital and technical skills to help them capture higher-value opportunities in coding, blockchain and AI-driven sectors.

“Google’s plan to establish Pakistan as an export hub aligns with our vision for AI-driven growth. There are vast opportunities to expand the blue economy,” Aurangzeb said, adding that Pakistan’s economy is moving in the right direction.

He emphasised that sustainable growth could only be achieved through production-driven development.

“The private sector plays a vital role in economic progress. Our focus will remain on the IT and maritime sectors to transform Pakistan into an export-oriented economy,” he said.

  • Arundhati Roy, her mother and the cross they bear

Arundhati Roy, her mother and the cross they bear

I read Arundhati Roy’s Mother Mary Comes to Me a week ago but I’ve thought about it every single day since. I couldn’t put it down out of love for Roy’s writing and sheer terror because I had to find out how it ends. I know it ends well right? She’s alive, a best-selling author, someone who calls out what’s wrong and goes to prison for what’s right.

Terror because the one question I can’t stop thinking about is if Arundhati would have been the great author she is if her mother had not been cruel Mother Mary.

Roy’s first memoir has been released after her mother passed away. Her mother is larger than life, a giver to the ones not related to her, a taker from everyone who is, a person who made history and a woman who failed at nurturing her children. What Roy goes through before she gets away from her mother is dark. What was good in Mary Roy went to the children of the school she ran, and what was bad was beaten into Arundhati and her brother.

It reads like slow death for children that young and then when you think it can’t get worse, Arundhati sends a spark up into the sky. Her mother taught her to be fearless, to stand up for her beliefs, to read, to write. In the depths of her darkness, Mrs. Roy would send Arundhati a lifeboat when her child most needed it and then drowned her all over again.

‘The book is so Arundhati’, is what I’ve heard people say around me and it’s true. It’s purely and most beautifully the woven skill of the master Indian weaver that is the Booker prize winning author. It is so raw, it hurts and it is so heartwarming, it hugs. She seamlessly takes us through her childhood, growing up Syrian Christian, without a father and troubled relatives, only a brother to hold onto, the rock that remains. As for her mother, you won’t be able to get over the majesty that is Mrs. Mary Roy.

A trailblazer who set up a massive school in a small town in Kerala, went to the Supreme Court to win a case that helped her get her inheritance and did not allow anyone to weigh her down. Arundhati says that her mother loved herself and when you read the book, you feel that it likely happened when Mrs. Roy had to learn to rely on her own.

Arundhati glorifies her mother by showing the worst side of her. For every mother who wants to berate their children and hold back, Mrs. Roy lets it burst through like a tsunami. Mrs. Roy says things you should never let a child know exist, leaving them black and blue, so much so that Arundhati the teenager, realises that the only way to live with her mother is to leave her.

Near the end, Arundhati tells us about how she enters the sphere of awakening the world to issues that are condemned in public – she herself goes through contempt of court to stand up for stories she has written. It, at first, seems like a sharp break from the story she had been telling. We lose Mrs. Roy there for a few chapters, and one wonders why until we come back to her, closer to her mother’s passing. It seems as if Arundhati’s real ownership of her self is when she is fighting for the cause of another – her books weave her mother in and out – but her voice for the other, that voice is purely her own.

You likely won’t read a better book this year and you will stare at Arundhati’s picture long after you’ve finished, finding it difficult to remove it from your bedside table. And the worst part is, if you are a mother,  you know that what Mrs. Mary Roy did to her child should never be done to another and you are certain you won’t do it to your own – but then you realise if she had not, there will not be an Arundhati Roy – and that is a heavy cross to bear.

  • Bitcoin falls below $100,000 for first time since June

Bitcoin falls below $100,000 for first time since June

With broader risk-off sentiment rippling through financial markets, Bitcoin on Tuesday fell more than 6% to slip below $100,000 for the first time since June.

According to foreign media reports, major United States (US) stock indexes also dropped, registering a decline in tech and chip stocks after Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley CEOs warned that equities may be due for a pullback.

The cautious mood sent Treasury yields lower as the US dollar climbed to a four-month high against the euro, adding pressure on risk assets, including cryptocurrencies.

The drop in bitcoin highlights growing investor caution in the face of tightening monetary conditions and market volatility, prompting some traders to reduce exposure to high-risk assets.

At an investment summit in Hong Kong, bank CEOs warned of the prospect of a stock market correction of more than 10% over the next two years.

Shares of Nvidia were down 4%, while an index of semiconductors also fell 4%.

Shares of Palantir Technologies PLTR.O dropped more than 8% despite the data analytics provider reporting strong quarterly results.

The company, which has more than doubled in value this year, forecast fourth-quarter results above market expectations as the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence is boosting demand for its services.

“Big Short” investor Michael Burry, known for his successful bets against the US housing market in 2008, has placed bearish bets on Nvidia and Palantir, according to a regulatory filing on Monday.

The S&P 500 fell more than 1% and the Nasdaq dropped more than 2%. The Nasdaq is still up about 21% for the year so far.

“The market’s been moving higher as warranted from an earnings standpoint, but at some point … it seemed like it was kind of positioning for a risk-off pullback even on the slightest disappointment,” said Keith Buchanan, senior portfolio manager at Globalt Investments.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 251.44 points, or 0.53%, to 47,085.24, and the S&P 500 fell 80.42 points, or 1.17%, to 6,771.55, and the Nasdaq Composite fell 486.09 points, or 2.04%, to 23,348.64.

MSCI’s gauge of stocks across the globe fell 11.51 points, or 1.14%, to 996.34.

    The pan-European STOXX 600 index fell 0.3%.

‘Caring husbands might actually be cheating’: Internet reacts to Javeria Saud’s statement

Actor and host Javeria Saud has sparked a storm online after claiming that couples who appear “perfect” often have hidden problems, and that overly caring husbands might actually be cheating.

During a recent morning show appearance, Javeria spoke about infidelity in marriages and said, “If you look beyond dramas and see a couple in real life whose life looks perfect, everything seems fine, and the husband is taking extra care of his wife, it means he has an extramarital affair.”

She explained her reasoning, saying, “He does this so that his wife doesn’t suspect anything. He gives gifts and shows care to gain her trust.”

Javeria also added a touch of humor by sharing her own example: “If my husband Saud is a little too sweet to me, I immediately ask, do you need something from me? Is there any issue or some affair going on? Later, I find out it’s something about the kids or a small favor.”

Her comments quickly went viral, with social media users flooding the internet with mixed reactions. One user wrote, “Acha je aisa hai kiaaa.” Another said, “It means my husband is loyal because he doesn’t give me gifts.”

Some found her statement absurd, commenting, “Kitni jahalat hai wesy yaha mtlb kuch b,” and “It doesn’t make any sense.” Others criticized her for overthinking relationships, saying, “Bai kisi baat pe to khush ho jao, khyaal rakhyn tb masla, na rakhyn tb masla.”

Many laughed off her comments, others called them “fuzul” and “illogical.”

Dumper association guard arrested for firing at protesters in Karachi

Police in Karachi have arrested the guard of Dumper Association President Liaqat Mehsood for opening fire on citizens protesting over a road accident involving a dumper truck.

According to police, the arrest was made from Sohrab Goth after a viral video showed the guard opening fire to disperse residents of Ramswami staging a protest when a dumper ran over a pedestrian, killing him on the spot.

The victim, identified as Shahzaib, was a resident of Garden and his wife also sustained injuries in the accident.

The enraged crowd had set the dumper on fire and blocked the road in protest as police arrested the driver, Niaz Hussain.

The situation escalated when Liaqat Mehsood reached the site with his armed guards.

Witnesses said the crowd began chanting slogans against him, accusing him of showing up only to defend his trucks rather than taking responsibility for the accidents.

During the commotion, one of his guards fired shots in the air before leaving the area. Fortunately, no one was injured.

Two days later, police on Wednesday confirmed that the guard involved in the incident had been apprehended investigation is ongoing.
