    Ahsan, however, did give in and revealed his effective skincare ritual. “Okay, it’s weird. So my wife makes a mask. It’s an egg white mask, and in the morning, she applies it to everyone’s face.”

With his theatrics, which often include yelling and finger-pointing, he demanded to know if Khan received any support or “subsidy” from Turkey while filming Laal Singh Chaddha, simply because the country isn’t seen as politically friendly by the Indian establishment.

    He even made bizarre comparisons, asking, “Would you watch a film shot in Lahore or Karachi,” painting Khan’s visit as some kind of betrayal. The motive was clear,  to incite outrage by using a Muslim actor’s travel choice as fuel for his hate-mongering narrative.

    Critics and social media users were quick to call out the show for its blatant Islamophobia. Many pointed out that Goswami has a history of targeting Muslims with baseless accusations disguised as patriotism. The pattern is repetitive and intentional: label, shame, and alienation.

    Journalist Farid Khan weighed in on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Indian media is attacking actor Aamir Khan now. They did the same to Col. Sofiya Qureshi. Muslims who are opposing Pakistan will spend the rest of their lives proving loyalty to India, Muhammad Ali Jinnah.”

    Meanwhile, Aamir Khan remains focused on making meaningful cinema. His upcoming film Sitare Zameen Par, releasing on June 20, 2025, follows a basketball coach mentoring children with Down syndrome. Despite being praised for its concept, the film is already facing boycott calls, once again revealing the toxic environment manufactured by anchors like Goswami.

    At a time of serious military tensions between India and Pakistan, following the April 22 Pahalgam incident, such media spectacles are dangerous. Instead of promoting peace or accountability, Arnab Goswami once again chooses to fan communal hatred, proving that for him, attacking Muslims isn’t commentary, it’s his entire brand.

    Meanwhile, tensions between India and Pakistan have sharply escalated following the Pahalgam incident in Indian-occupied Kashmir on April 22. In the early hours of May 7, India launched airstrikes in multiple regions of Pakistan, including Kotli, Bahawalpur, and Muzaffarabad, reportedly killing at least 30 civilians and injuring over 40.

    In response, Pakistan downed six Indian aircraft, including three Rafale jets, marking the first instance of Rafales being brought down in combat. The following day, more than 30 Indian drones were reportedly shot down across Pakistan.

    On the night of May 9, India launched missile strikes on Pakistani airbases. In retaliation, Pakistan initiated Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos at dawn on May 10, targeting several Indian military installations. Key strikes included a BrahMos missile depot in Beas, an airbase in Adampur, and an airfield in Pathankot. Pakistani drones reportedly reached New Delhi, while a JF-17 fighter jets destroyed India’s S-400 missile defence system in Adampur.

    According to ASports, Hesson views both batters as crucial to Pakistan’s plans for the 2025 Asia Cup and the 2026 T20 World Cup. This comes after earlier speculation that the two players might be dropped from the T20I setup, raising doubts about their future in the shortest format.

    Babar and Rizwan were notably absent from the T20I series against New Zealand earlier this year, with selectors opting to test younger talent. Rizwan, who briefly captained the T20I side in two series, was also replaced, with Agha Salman appointed the new skipper.

    However, Hesson is now advocating for experience to return with a refreshed approach. According to reports, he recently met with selector Aqib Javed at the PCB headquarters to discuss team composition and the role senior players could play in upcoming tournaments.

    The federal government found itself in an awkward spot in the National Assembly (NA) on Thursday after the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led opposition stalled the passage of a key money bill right in the middle of proceedings.


    According to reports, during the session, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb moved a motion to formally present the Income Tax (Amendment) Bill 2024. However, things didn’t go according to plan as the motion was unexpectedly defeated in a 67-32 vote. 


    The defeat quickly made the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf (PTI) lawmakers realize that the treasury didn’t have the numbers to maintain quorum. For reference, quorum refers to the minimum number of members that should be present for a meeting’s proceedings to be considered valid, which in this case required at least 84 members to be present in the 336-member assembly.


    As per reports, PTI members staged a walkout just after deputy speaker Ghulam Mustafa Shah announced the voting result. Aamir Dogar stayed behind to point out the missing quorum which was a strategic ploy that brought the session to a halt. This happened despite the chair reportedly approving two out of three clauses of the bill through a quick voice vote.


    Following the walkout, the deputy speaker called for an urgent headcount and was left with no choice but to suspend the session until quorum could be completed. However, reports indicate that instead of gaining numbers, the government actually lost more members, dropping below the 67 it had earlier.


    After a short break, when proceedings resumed, it was clear that the house still lacked enough members to continue and with no other option left, the chair wrapped up the sitting till Friday morning. This reportedly resulted in the assembly remaining unable to go ahead with the planned agenda for Thursday, which also included the approval of five other bills.


    The Income Tax (Amendment) Bill 2024 is already active, as it had first been introduced through an ordinance last year. However, details from reports suggest that the ordinance is about to expire after completing its constitutional term, meaning the government now needs to pass the bill in the National Assembly to keep it in force.


    According to the explanation attached to the bill, it aims to fix certain issues faced by taxpayers, especially those affected by the increased tax rates on income from federal government securities. It also looks to adjust and standardize the tax rate on the overall business income of banks.

    The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has denied reports claiming an official ban on currency notes bearing pen marks or handwriting will take effect from July 1.

    Several reports on Thursday alleged that the SBP had issued a notification stating that any notes with handwriting or pen marks would no longer be accepted as legal tender after June 30. These reports also claimed that the public was being urged to deposit such notes in banks before the end of June.

    However, in conversation with The Current, an SBP spokesperson categorically rejected the claim. “State Bank has not issued any such statement. This false news was posted on social media about 16 hours ago by an individual and has no basis in fact.”

    The SBP official also urged media outlets to verify such claims before publishing.

    “The public is advised to rely solely on official SBP sources for any announcements about currency regulations,” they added.

    A viral video showing a physical altercation on Thokar Niaz Baig Road in Lahore has sparked allegations that popular Pakistani YouTuber Rajab Butt was one of the participants.

    In the footage circulating online, a man can be seen fighting with individuals inside and outside a car in the middle of the road, while passersby recorded the scene. Netizens claim that the man in question is Rajab Butt, who was reportedly accompanied by fellow content creators Shazi, Musa, and Haider at the time of the incident.

    So far, the reason behind the alleged fight remains unknown, and Rajab Butt has yet to respond to the claims stating that the person involved was him. No official statement has been released by local authorities either.

    Social media has erupted with mixed reactions:

    “Jan bujh ke karta hai yeh sab views ke liye.”

    “Such an attention seeker!”

    “I don’t know why people forget their ethics after getting fame… no matter what, you can’t buy etiquettes with money.”

    Rajab Butt is no stranger to controversy. Known for his bold and often divisive content, this latest incident adds to his long list of headline-grabbing moments.

    The YouTuber returned to Pakistan just a week ago after spending time abroad, reportedly due to a case filed against him under Section 295 of the Pakistan Penal Code. His return was followed by a series of public appearances and vlogs that quickly attracted attention.

    Earlier, Butt faced backlash for launching a perfume named “295”, a reference to Pakistan’s blasphemy law. The move sparked widespread criticism and resulted in a case registered against him at the Nishtar Colony police station under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA). The FIR accused him of hurting public sentiments and promoting indecency.

    The controversy deepened after Butt referenced the late Indian rapper Sidhu Moose Wala’s blasphemy allegations and linked them to himself. His statement and the perfume’s name angered religious groups and social activists.

    In response, Butt issued a public apology from Masjid-e-Haram in Makkah, where he recited Darood Sharif, stating:

    “My wealth, life, parents, children, and every drop of my blood are dedicated to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).”

    He claimed his statements were taken out of context and urged religious scholars and authorities to “cleanse their hearts” and reconsider the charges. He also alleged that a key word was edited out of his video, which led to a fatwa being issued against him.

    Despite the apology, TLP leader Haider Ali Shah Gillani filed an FIR against Butt for insulting religious sentiments and hate speech. If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison.

    Following intense criticism, Rajab Butt announced he would discontinue the “295” perfume, admitting his remarks may have been poorly worded and expressing regret for any offence caused.
