Shivaji Satam has portrayed ACP Pradyuman since CID first aired in 1998. The show took a break in 2018, citing creative reasons, and returned to screens in 2024. Earlier this year, it also began streaming on Netflix, introducing the series to a new generation of viewers.

On his return, Shivaji had shared his excitement:

“In this edition of the show, the Daya-Abhijeet bond, once unbreakable, has snapped and the two are standing opposite each other. The very foundation of CID is shaken, and ACP Pradyuman’s world will be turned upside down. It feels surreal to return as ACP Pradyuman after six years, a character that has received so much love — and we promise a thrilling ride filled with suspense and heart-stopping drama!”

If this really is the end for ACP Pradyuman, it marks a massive shift in the world of CID and for millions of fans, it’s truly the end of an era.

  • Trump says wants ‘direct talks’ with Iran on nukes deal

Trump says wants ‘direct talks’ with Iran on nukes deal

US President Donald Trump said Thursday he wanted “direct talks” with Tehran on a nuclear deal, after he threatened to bomb Iran if it develops nuclear weapons.

Trump has given Iran’s leaders a two-month deadline to reach an agreement on the country’s nuclear program, which has strained relations with Western nations for decades.

Western countries including the United States have long accused Iran of pursuing a nuclear weapon, which Tehran has denied, insisting its enrichment activities were solely for peaceful purposes.

“I think it’s better if we have direct talks,” he told reporters onboard the presidential plane Air Force One.

“I think it goes faster and you understand the other side a lot better than if you go through intermediaries.”

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said last week that Tehran would not engage in direct talks with Washington “until there is a change in the other side’s approach towards the Islamic republic”.

Trump in his first term ripped up a 2015 nuclear deal negotiated by predecessor Barack Obama and reimposed crippling sanctions on Iran.

The deal, sealed between Tehran and world powers, had required Iran to limit its nuclear ambitions in exchange for sanctions relief.

“They wanted to use intermediaries, I don’t think that’s necessarily true anymore,” Trump said.

“I think they’re concerned, I think they feel vulnerable. I don’t want them to feel that way,” he added.

“I think they want to meet.”

Trump said last month he had written to Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to call for nuclear negotiations and warn of possible military action if Tehran refused.

Khamenei responded by saying that US threats “will get them nowhere” and warned of reciprocal measures “if they do anything malign” against Iran.

Trump last week said “there will be bombing” of Iran if it does not drop its efforts to develop nuclear weapons.

Trump’s outreach comes at a weak point for the Islamic republic after Israel decimated two of its allies —  Hamas, the Palestinian militants who attacked Israel on October 7, 2023, and Lebanon’s Hezbollah.

  • Black magic, demons abound in Pakistani horror film ‘Deemak’ trailer

Black magic, demons abound in Pakistani horror film ‘Deemak’ trailer

Pakistani cinema is finally diving deep into horror again—and this time, it’s seriously committed to scaring you.

Deemak (Termite) isn’t just another scary movie. It’s a psychological supernatural thriller that looks and feels intense and genuinely creepy.

Directed by Rafay Rashdi (yes, the one behind Badshah Begum and The Java Plum Tree) and written by Ayesha Muzaffar (author of Abus Jinns and Jinnistan), Deemak explores a toxic mother-in-law vs. daughter-in-law relationship, with a scary twist: their home is slowly being taken over by something… not from this world.

This project is being produced under Wah Wah Productions, with Syed Murad Ali as the executive producer. He’s a horror fan himself and has finally turned his passion into a full-fledged cinematic experience.

The cast? Iconic. We’re talking Faysal Quraishi, Sonya Hussyn, Samina Peerzada, Javed Sheikh, and Bushra Ansari—legends who know how to deliver performances that hit hard.

The trailer honestly gave me goosebumps. That one scene where something crawls near the bedroom ceiling and she suddenly lifts the bed? Chilling. And instead of water, the kitchen tap is dripping blood. Like, what?! I haven’t been this excited for a Pakistani movie in ages.

The story revolves around a normal house becoming a living nightmare as paranormal events grow stronger. It’s not just jump scares—there’s emotional depth too. The son is caught in a disturbing tug-of-war between his wife and his mother, with the horror of demons creeping into every corner of their lives.

What’s really cool is that this film is rooted in local folklore, especially our own stories about Jinns. The team has tried to blend that with psychological horror in a very Pakistani way.

The director shared that Deemak was originally an idea called Yaqeen—something he dreamt of almost six years ago. With Ayesha Muzaffar onboard, it turned into a layered horror drama that’s as much about emotional trauma as it is about the supernatural.

Horror movies in Pakistan have been rare but interesting. We had Zinda Laash back in 1967 (our version of Dracula!), and later came Zibahkhana in 2007, which made waves internationally. More recently, In Flames even made it to Cannes! And now, Deemak might just be our next big horror milestone.

Its releasing this Eid ul Adha (June 6), and fans are already hyped. People are absolutely loving the trailer. Just check out these comments:

“Wow, let’s go! Is cheez ka hi to wait tha. Amazing trailer. I am waiting!”

“Nice trailer. Pakistan mein bhi achi movies ban rahi hain, top level ki. This is our talent!”

“Wonderful performance by everyone  Wishing everyone all the best and especially Faysal Quraishi. So excited to see him on our big screen. Bahut sari duaen ”

“We are so excited for #Deemak!”

“Faysal Quraishi special Deemak movie trailer – super excellent, and especially the horror story – wonderful and super king!”

    “Bro it looks insane!”

  • ‘Establishment not interested in talks with PTI’

‘Establishment not interested in talks with PTI’

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry has said that the establishment was standing by the government, playing its role in strengthening Pakistan and having “no interest in holding talks” with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

“Today, the establishment has changed. It stands by the government. It gives priority to Pakistan’s interests and is playing a role in strengthening Pakistan,” he said a conversation with a private media outlet.

His remarks came hours after Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Ali Amin Gandapur claimed that he was in talks with the establishment in a “personal capacity”.

Terming CM Gandapur’s claim “self-deception”, the minister said that the establishment clarified that it was not interested in holding talks with the PTI.

He said that sometimes relations with “disobedient children” are not normalised.

The state minister said that nobody was engaging with the PTI, adding that Imran Khan-led party was confused and misguiding the people.

Talal said that PTI wanted to return to power by using the shoulders of the establishment and to escape from the cases.  He also questioned the “will” of the KP government against the menace of terrorism, saying that the provincial movement could not even activate the counter-terrorism department.

The statements also come days after jailed PTI founder Imran Khan reportedly agreed to “negotiating with the establishment”, and in this regard, assigned CM Gandapur as well as KP government adviser Barrister Saif the responsibility of seeing it through.

Reports quoted sources as saying that the development came after CM Gandapur and Saif convinced the incarcerated leader to engage in talks with the establishment, and the potential negotiations would remain confidential until any progress was made.

It may be noted that KP chief executive, who was earlier reported to be the messenger between the jailed ex-PM and establishment, met Khan at Adiala Jail on Wednesday after over a month. The meeting continued for two and a half hours as the two leaders discussed institutional confrontations and criticism of party leadership on social media. CM Gandapur also briefed Khan on provincial matters.

Meanwhile, PTI Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram dismissed reports about the meeting, saying that false claims were being circulated. “No one went to convince the PTI founder to negotiate,” he told a private media outlet, rubbishing claims that Khan had tasked anyone with talks.

He condemned efforts to twist facts for the government’s benefit and clarified that Khan’s discussion with Gandapur revolved around provincial government and party-related matters.

“Gandapur will present Khan’s directives before the party’s political committee,” Akram added.

Days earlier, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar had also dismissed speculations about a deal with the establishment, clarifying that the party had “simply reestablished contacts”.

  • BPC-157 Peptide: A Hypothetical Multidimensional Tool for Research

BPC-157 is classified as a stable gastric pentadecapeptide and is believed to impact several signaling pathways within the research model. It has been hypothesized that BPC-157 might modulate the expression of growth factors, extracellular matrix components, and cellular adhesion molecules. This property suggests its potential involvement in cellular communication and tissue remodeling, making it a subject of interest in regenerative biology and molecular research.

Additionally, investigations purport that BPC-157 may have interactions with the nitric oxide (NO) system, which plays a crucial role in vascular and cellular homeostasis. The peptide’s theorized impact on endothelial function, angiogenesis, and oxidative stress pathways positions it as an intriguing candidate for research into vascular and tissue recovery processes.

Theorized Role in Tissue Integrity and Regenerative Research

One of the primary areas of interest in BPC-157 research involves its potential role in tissue repair and regeneration. Research indicates that the peptide might contribute to maintaining tissue integrity by modulating growth factors such as vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and fibroblast growth factor (FGF). These interactions may theoretically assist in cellular proliferation, migration, and extracellular matrix formation, processes that are fundamental to wound recovery and structural tissue restoration.

Furthermore, BPC-157 has been suggested to impact collagen synthesis, an essential component in tissue architecture. Investigations purport that the peptide may play a role in fibroblast function and extracellular matrix organization, which might have implications in the study of connective tissue dynamics. Research has also explored the possibility that BPC-157 might facilitate communication between epithelial and mesenchymal cells, a critical aspect of organ system maintenance and regeneration.

    Potential Implications in Neurobiology

Neuroscientific inquiries have suggested that BPC-157 might impact the nervous system. It has been theorized that the peptide may interact with neurotransmitter systems, including the dopaminergic and serotonergic pathways, which are crucial in neuroplasticity and cognitive function. Some investigations indicate that BPC-157 may be involved in synaptic modulation, neuronal survival, and axonal outgrowth, making it a subject of interest in neurodegenerative research.

Furthermore, it has been hypothesized that BPC-157 might contribute to neurovascular integrity by supporting blood-brain barrier function and endothelial stability. Given the significance of vascular science in neural processes, this property may position the peptide as an intriguing factor in studies on cerebrovascular homeostasis.

    Hypothesized Impact on Inflammatory Processes

Inflammation is a critical biological process that may impact a wide array of physiological and pathological conditions. BPC-157 has been suggested to interact with inflammatory mediators, possibly modulating cytokine expression and leukocyte activity.
