World’s Highest Mileage Ferrari F40 Crash, Technician Allegedly at Fault

You might see a picture of a Ferrari F40 crash on a UK road. Though no one was physically hurt in the accident, the car suffered significant damage and appears to be a massive write-off. However, Ferraris don’t just end their lives as junkers. So, I’m sure someone will pick up this project and get the car back on the road again.

Ferrari produced 1,311 F40s, 213 of which were shipped to the United States. Initially, production was limited to 400. However, because so many customers ordered cars, the Italian carmaker had no choice but to comply. Reportedly, there are currently 75 Ferrari F40s in the UK. One of which is now off the road.

Posted on Instagram by @kayash2000, the car is captured on its side on the A5 near Markyate. It is said to have been crashed by a service technician who lost control of the Ferrari, leading to the heart-tugging misery of enthusiasts over the model. This created a reeling uproar in the ranks of the insurance company.

One image shows that the entire front end has been displaced, exposing the front wheels, suspension, radiator, and luggage compartment. A pole lying on the ground likely caused the car to be in that odd position.

The rear end has also lost its original shape. Photographs of the scene show severe suspension misalignment on the driver’s side. The rear bumper also absorbed the impact. In the Ferrari F40 crash photos, the seats were covered with protective plastic during the crash. Thus confirming it was likely that a service technician had crashed it.

This particular example of the Ferrari F40 crash was well-known throughout the country. The F40PRX was famous due to its number plate and because it had already become a thing. Rumors exist that it was the highest-mileage F40. However, the specifics of the sports car’s actual mileage could be untraceable. It is known that the vehicle was owned and driven as a daily commuter.

Now, he’s almost away from work. Given how valuable this Ferrari is, it could be restored and put back on the road like a large jigsaw puzzle. We have seen Ferraris in far worse shape after accidents, which eventually returned to their glory.

  • PM Shehbaz Sharif directs FBR to expedite resolution of weak revenue cases

PM Shehbaz Sharif directs FBR to expedite resolution of weak revenue cases

Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif directed the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Thursday to identify ‘weak cases’ to expedite the resolution of pending revenue-related cases and to appoint qualified experts to a panel for identification.

The PM issued this instruction to both the FBR and Law Division officials in a meeting to resolve legal cases that have been pending for extended periods. Analysts predict that this directive will be beneficial as the authorities will finally oversee longstanding cases.

According to reports, over 33,000 cases currently remain unsolved, with a financial value of approximately 4.7 trillion rupees. These pending cases are not to be considered by a singular executive body but rather fall under the jurisdiction of various courts and tribunals.

Shehbaz Sharif’s directives allow for the FBR panel to recommend an immediate withdrawal of weak cases once the panel has reviewed them.

The creation of the panel may result in business owners facing higher taxes in the future, as the department can suggest “high-potential cases” where taxes can be raised.

FBR’s officials have adopted three main decisions to handle the pending cases as per reports. Digital guidelines are to be utilised to assess officers and cater to them so that they can make efficient decisions.

However, analysts have highlighted how this panel should be free from corruption, as officials could unfairly withdraw cases. The concerns are genuine, as any cases unfairly dismissed will significantly hurt the national exchequer, which the cash-strapped nation cannot afford.

However, the meeting also outlined important procedures for vetting competent and impartial officers before adding them to the panel. It was reported that the original assessing officers would defend their cases at tribunals instead of the panel members.

To further curb the possibility of officials corrupting the process, authorities present in the meeting decided that four to five individuals with good reputations would be appointed to defend their cases at the tribunals. The appointment of these individuals will require them to clear a set of ‘competitive examinations’.

Shehbaz Sharif also highlighted that officers who perform their duties with diligence and honesty will be rewarded, while dishonest practices will result in severe consequences.

Analysts are speculative about the economic gains which could be realised if the FBR were to receive the outstanding value of 4.7 trillion rupees. If the FBR can extract this amount from the pending cases, it would be enough to finance approximately 25 percent of the federal budget for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024-25.

  • Suspect tried breaking into Shah Rukh Khan’s home before stabbing Saif Ali Khan

Suspect tried breaking into Shah Rukh Khan’s home before stabbing Saif Ali Khan

Indian media has reported that according to a recent update to the ongoing investigation, the attacker involved in the stabbing and attempted robbery at Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan’s house may have also targeted Shah Rukh Khan’s residence, Mannat.

According to sources, the intruder, who forced his way into Saif’s apartment and injured him, was unable to gain entry into Shah Rukh Khan’s house amid tight security measures. Following the attack on Saif, the police visited Shah Rukh Khan’s bungalow to investigate the matter further.

Suspicious movements were observed near Mannat on January 14, with a man seen examining the premises using a six- to eight-foot-long iron ladder near the rest house located at the back of Shah Rukh Khan’s house.

Police believe this individual could be the same person who attacked Saif Ali Khan’s residence. Further investigation is currently underway.

Earlier, Mumbai Police had arrested a suspect accused of attacking renowned Indian actor Saif Ali Khan.

According to Indian media reports, the suspect was taken into custody a day after the actor was stabbed at his home in Mumbai.

The suspect was arrested this morning and brought to the Bandra police station. However, the police have not yet disclosed much information about him. The arrival of an encounter specialist at Saif’s house has caused a stir.

Media reports suggest that the police are still not confirming whether this is the same person who broke into Saif Ali Khan’s house the previous day. The suspect has been shifted to the Bandra police station for further questioning.

There were rumours that the attacker entered Saif’s son’s room and demanded Rs. 1 crore. However, the police have clarified that this was a theft case. The actor suffered multiple stab wounds, including a deep cut to the chest and spine.

Earlier, Bollywood superstar Saif Ali Khan was stabbed six times by an intruder in his Mumbai home early Thursday morning. Following a surgery at Lelavati Hospital in Mumbai, many of his close friends and family rushed to be by his side.

Saif’s wife Kareena Kapoor’s cousin Ranbir Kapoor and his wife Alia Bhatt arrived at Lilavati Hospital to offer support.

Along with them, Karisma Kapoor, Saif’s sister-in-law, also visited the hospital. Saif’s children from his previous marriage, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan were spotted at the hospital, keeping in close proximity with their father.

Director Siddharth Anand also arrived at the hospital in the morning.

While Saif’s surgery was a success, he is still under observation, with doctors closely monitoring his recovery. Saif’s fans and well-wishers have flooded social media with messages wishing him a speedy recovery.

His son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, stepped up in a life-or-death situation to get his father the help he urgently needed.

Ibrahim realised that there was no car available to transport his injured father to the hospital. Showing a very smart presence of mind, he immediately hailed an auto rickshaw and got his father to Lilavati Hospital, just two kilometres from their Bandra house.

Post Ceasefire: No Peace Without Ending Genocide

In light of the recent ceasefire between Gaza and Israel, there is a glimmer of hope for many. This might signal the end of the violence that has affected the two regions for years. However, as pointed out by many, a vital aspect of any lasting peace must also be reconciled with the bitter injustices that fueled the violence. The violence of the ongoing genocide suffered by Palestine and the racist system keeping them in check.

Even though thousands of civilians lost their lives during the ongoing violence, the truce has managed to end the needless killings on either side. However, things remain dicey for most civilians of the two regions. A comprehensive shift in how both groups are treated is necessary. Otherwise, the violence will undoubtedly resurface.

The last agreement does not represent peace but rather an impermanent break in a conflict that dates back almost a century. The Palestinians are already suffering from systematic oppression, dehumanization, and violence in the shape of endless bombings. The recent ceasefire has only served to bring into more explicit focus the deep inequalities that exist for the under-attack people of Gaza and Palestine. However, it can be claimed that the situation is not as grim, for many see it as a temporary pause rather than an end.

Another extremely urgent issue requires addressing the multiyear genocide unfolding. While the word “genocide” is not used lightly in a variety of contexts, many scholars, human rights organizations, and advocates for the Palestinian people have repeatedly stressed the ongoing campaign to erase Palestinian identity and existence. This includes such activities as targeting numbers of civilian infrastructures, displacing Palestinian families, and perpetuating settlement within a territory that had already been taken.

Human rights groups documented a lot of abuses against Palestinians. Extradition killings, indiscriminate bombings, and systematic denial of essential rights make people incapable of getting things like potable water, access to health care, and education. Some people argue such actions amount to and constitute acts of genocide under international laws. It is a deliberate attempt to destroy in whole or in part a particular racial or religious group.

Palestinians continue to live under a system that treats them like second-class citizens. This system denies their human rights and exposes them to violence and humiliation daily, despite the desire for a ceasefire. The Israeli government’s disinclination to recognize the systematic discrimination and violence that the Palestinians have been subjected to tends only to prolong their suffering, thus permanently reducing any hopes of lasting peace.

For the present convention of peace to become a reality, actions must come from the international community to be of some use and pressure. The global consensus must go beyond mere words and gestures to work. Such pressure should be exerted so that responsible actors for the genocide and apartheid of Palestine can restore peace not just for the sake of peace in the region but for humanity itself.

The law should be followed, especially in holding those accountable for crimes committed. This implies supporting Palestinian self-determination and autonomy and ensuring they will be at the table for any peace process. There must be constant pressure applied on Israel to end its illegal closure of Palestinian territories and dismantle apartheid constructs that keep Palestinians under oppressive rule.

  • Experts predict new highs for economy amid rising remittances

Experts predict new highs for economy amid rising remittances

The flow of remittances into the country remained strong during the third quarter of FY 2024-25. According to Dawn, a whopping two billion dollars have been sold to banks, with an additional two billion sold in the open market.

Experts predict that remittance inflows through banks alone may reach $35 billion by the end of FY 25. Compared to the same quarter last year, these inflows increased 33 percent in Q3 2024-25.

Analysts are attributing the increase to Islamabad’s crusade against illegal currency exchange activities and an attempt to control the flow of funds through the ‘Hawala/Hundi’ system. This has allowed banks and exchange companies to benefit immensely as an increased number of people have turned towards official channels to transfer and exchange their funds.

Rising remittance inflows strengthen the rupee. However, since Pakistan has historically run a trade deficit, these inflows serve to plug the gap between the overall outflows and inflows of foreign exchange.

Exports have increased considerably in the current fiscal year, largely as a result of Commerce Minister Jam Kemal Khan’s tireless efforts. However, according to Dawn, exports are projected to lag significantly behind remittances this year.

For Islamabad, rising remittances serve to improve economic figures as the impact of the trade deficit is not as pronounced. This is one of the primary reasons why the exchange rate has remained relatively stable in the past few months.

This has allowed the business community to benefit, with importers being the primary beneficiaries. The reason behind this phenomenon is that a depreciating rupee erodes the profit margins of importers, who find it more expensive to import goods into the economy.

Remittances are also beneficial for local businesses that have no ties with the importation of goods. This is because remittances augment household incomes, significantly boosting consumer purchasing power.

For businesses, the outcome is an increase in revenues as they are able to attract more consumers who can purchase their goods and services. Business owners will be pleased to know that Zafar Paracha, the General Secretary of the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan (ECAP), has predicted that inflows will rise once the State Bank provides more incentives to exchange companies to attract remittances.

Currently, banks are enjoying preferential treatment over exchange companies in attracting remittances. Exchange companies earn just one rupee per dollar, while banks earn double the amount. With a possible parity in incentives on the table, remittances might witness a significant boost.

  • Nasser Hussain has a big prediction for star batter Saim Ayub

Nasser Hussain has a big prediction for star batter Saim Ayub

Former England captain Nasser Hussain has made an important prediction about young Pakistani opener Saim Ayub.

In a podcast with Mike Atherton, Nasser Hussain included Saim Ayub in his list of the next generation’s “Fab Four” cricketers. Alongside Saim, Hussain nominated England’s Harry Brook and India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal. His fourth pick was Australia’s Travis Head, though Atherton questioned this choice due to Head’s age.

When asked who could be the next “Fab Four” of cricket, Hussain said, “Saim Ayub has the potential to be a dynamic player for Pakistan.” He highlighted Saim’s recent injury, saying, “It’s uncertain if he will be fit for the Champions Trophy. Saim could become an important top-order player for Pakistan in all formats.”

On the other hand, Mike Atherton selected Sri Lanka’s Kamindu Mendis, New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra, England’s Harry Brook, and India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal for the next “Fab Four.”

    What is the “Fab Four”?

The term “Fab Four” was introduced by former New Zealand captain Martin Crowe in 2013. He predicted that “Virat Kohli, Joe Root, Kane Williamson, and Steve Smith would dominate cricket for the next decade.” His prediction came true. Whether Hussain and Atherton’s predictions will come true remains to be seen.

Currently, Saim Ayub is undergoing treatment in London after a severe ankle injury during the Cape Town Test against South Africa. His participation in the Champions Trophy is uncertain.

So far, Saim has played only nine One Day Internationals (ODIs), scoring three centuries and one half-century. His standout performances in the ODI series against South Africa, where he scored two centuries, helped Pakistan achieve their first-ever series whitewash against the Proteas.

Saim Ayub’s future looks bright, and he is a player to watch in the coming years.
