    VIDEO: PIA pilots spot and record UFO above their plane in Karachi

    Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) pilots have spotted and unidentified flying object (UFO) flying at 35,000 feet above Karachi.

    According to ProPakistani, the “foo fighter” — a term used by Allied aircraft pilots during World War II to describe UFOs or mysterious aerial phenomena seen in the skies over both the European and Pacific theaters of operations — was a white round object above the jet which the plane’s captain noticed on Sunday.

    The flight crew immediately started filming the object and after landing found that similar sightings had been reported in the past across the world.

    The flight captain said that the round object had a metal ring around it and was emitting white light from the center.

    He added that it was difficult to determine whether the object was hovering or moving slowly due to relative motion.

    Sharing the video of the incident, UFO hunter and blogger Scott Waring said that PIA pilots had provided the most focused photo of a foo fighter in the history of UFO research.

    He added that it “proved that aliens follow planes and keep a close eye on human activities”.

    COVID-19: Sindh reopens shopping malls on weekends

    The Sindh government has allowed shopping malls in Karachi to remain open on the weekends (Saturdays and Sundays). 

    According to the notification issued by the government, shopping malls will now be allowed to operate seven days a week under the government’s COVID-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs).

    The notification added that if a shopping mall is situated in a virus hotspot within the city, then it will remain closed as only essential businesses are permitted to operate therein. 

    Meanwhile, as of January 21, the province has recorded 12 COVID-related deaths, elating the overall number to 3,855. Some 716 new cases were diagnosed taking the positivity rate to 11.2%.

    Bakhtawar Bhutto-Zardari to tie the knot on January 29

    Bakhtawar Bhutto-Zardari and fiancé Mahmood Choudhry will be tying the knot on January 29 at Bilawal House in Karachi.

    According to reports, a spokesperson of Bilawal House has revealed the wedding festivities will begin with a Milad function on January 24. This will be followed by a simple mehndi ceremony on January 27.

    The nikkah will take place on January 29 while the baarat is scheduled for January 30. All events are expected to take place at the bride’s residence in Karachi.

    The spokesman said that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari will be suspending his political activities for a week to participate in sister’s wedding. He was unable to attend her engagement as he was in isolation after testing positive for COVID-19.

    The spokesperson further added that close to a thousand guests have been invited to the wedding. Invitations have reportedly also been sent to important political leaders of the country including military leaders and judicial heads.

    Bakhtawar and Mahmood got engaged on November 27, 2020, in an intimate ceremony at the Bilawal House Karachi.

    Meanwhile, earlier the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in an official statement, had shared that Bakhtawar’s husband-to-be “Mahmood Choudhry is the son of Mohammad Younas and Begum Suraiya Choudhry who hail from the old town of Lahore.”

    “Mahmood, the last born of five siblings was born on July 28, 1988, in the city of Abu Dhabi. He completed his primary schooling in Abu Dhabi and secondary schooling in the United Kingdom. Mahmood further went on to read Law at the University of Durham.”

    “The family’s primary country of residence remains the United Arab Emirates (UAE) where Mahmood continues to run his businesses in construction, finance and tech,” added the statement.

  • VIDEO: Delivery boy robbed of burgers in Gujranwala

    Robbers on Thursday looted burgers from a delivery boy in Gujranwala.

    As per reports, a group of six men riding on two motorcycles robbed the delivery boy as he was on his way to deliver the burgers to customers. The unidentified but armed men stopped the boy and snatched six burgers and a mobile from him and escaped from the scene.

    The delivery boy has filed an FIR against the suspects. Police officials have assured that they will arrest the suspects soon.

    Earlier on December 25, a delivery boy had nabbed two young street criminals after they tried to rob him in Gulshan-e-Iqbal but later allowed them to go thinking that it could ruin their life.

    Power outages have been reported in all major cities of Pakistan, including Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, Rawalpindi and Karachi.

    While no confirmed reports have yet poured in on the situation in other cities, the blackout is being deemed a national one with a fault allegedly occuring in the National Transmission & Despatch Company (NTDC) transmission lines.

    The cause of the fault has not yet been ascertained, however, sources say it could be due to the foggy weather conditions prevailing in the country.

    Earlier, the outage began with voltage fluctuations. The same being a countrywide problem emerged as soon as people took to social media.

    In a recent post, Akram once again expressed her love for the city praising the resilience and diversity of Karachi, comparing it to an eagle that looks into the eye without a fright and remains devoted to where it belongs.

  • Delivery boy robs people by hiding gun in food delivery bag

    The police arrested a delivery boy for robbing people using a weapon hidden inside his delivery bag.

    As per details, the suspect from Karachi’s Ferozabad area bore the uniform and a box of online food delivery service in which he put his weapon.

    The delivery boy, Abdul Rauf told the police he had only recently joined the online food delivery service and admitted he was tempted to rob people as he had no money.

    “I bought this gun back in 2011”, Rauf admitted to police.

    Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) East Sajid Sadozai told media the suspect knocked at house doors pretending to be a food delivery person and then robbed them with his partners.

    The police are still searching for his alleged aides involved in criminal activities.

    Rauf has confessed to at least 21 robberies, SSP Sadozai said.

    A video of an ostrich running across a road in Karachi is doing rounds on social media.

    As per reports, the bird had escaped a private park and made its way to a road in the city’s Korangi No 4 area.

    “Ostriches are afraid of water. This one escaped from a private park when water entered it” said the police. “The park’s employees ran after it and captured it later.”

    Meanwhile, other reports have stated that the bird escaped from the Landhi Korangi Zoo.

    Karachi among world’s most polluted cities

    Karachi has been listed among the world’s most polluted cities ranking sixth on the global Air Quality Index on Monday.

    As per details, the number of polluted particles in the air in the provincial capital was recorded at 186 particulate matter.

    The capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek was on the top of the list while India’s Kolkata ranked second among the world’s most polluted cities.

    According to the classification, pollution from 151 to 200 degrees is harmful to health, pollution from 201 to 300 degrees is extremely harmful to health, while more than 301 degrees indicates hazardous pollution.

  • Karachi police helpline received almost 800,000 bogus calls in 2020

    Karachi police helpline received 34,941,33 calls on Madadgar-15 in 2020, out of which about 798,000 turned out to be either bogus or prank calls.

    According to an annual report of the police helpline, the Karachi police acting on 27,265,00 complaints arrested 474 suspects, captured 127 pistols, recovered 138 stolen and snatched bikes, 26 four-wheelers, 65 cell phones, 78,000 wristwatches, jewellery and other valuables.

    It said the police’s average time of responding to calls on Madadgar-15 reduced to seven minutes from 40 minutes after the helpline’s revival.

    A police official advised people to make calls to the helpline only in case of any emergency.
