    Azaz Syed, a senior journalist at The News, invited reporter Asif Bashir Chaudhry on his YouTube show.

    Asif claimed that according to his sources, Interior Minister of Pakistan Mohsin Naqvi might be leaving the ministry portfolio.

    Journalist Asif Bashir Chaudhry said some other sources have also confirmed, “Rana Sanaullah’s name is being seriously considered for this [Interior Minister].”

    Chaudhry stated, “Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) and coalition parties have objected to the fact that despite being the interior minister of the country, he [Mohsin Naqvi] does not defend party’s policies.”

    Asif further explained, “The job of the interior minister is to defend, explain, elaborate, and discuss the government policy decisions which is not happening at the moment.”

    Journalist Asif Bashir also stated that some friendly countries have also objected to Naqvi’s conduct with them.

    Azaz Syed said he thinks there is a very low probability of this happening although he credited his story.

    Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said on Thursday that he and his wife declared their properties a decade ago. Naqvi, a media baron who became Punjab’s caretaker Chief Minister and now also holds the coveted position of Chairman, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), stressed that there is nothing new in the “Dubai unlocked” project. 

    Naqvi revealed that his wife not only owns properties in Dubai but also in the United Kingdom (UK).

    He gave a detailed response to the Dubai leaks in a press conference in Lahore after the leaked property records named several prominent personalities in Pakistan, including government officials, politicians, military generals, and other individuals.

    He also said that it is necessary for the national media to report about major developments, but portraying that someone owned property with illegal means is wrong.
    The former caretaker chief minister of Punjab also stated that he was not in any official position 10 to 12 years ago, but he had properties at that time as well.

    Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi has said that no one is accepting defeat in the first match against Ireland and that after Ireland and England, the real test is the World Cup.

    Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi held a two hour meeting with the national players in Dublin on the team’s strategy.

    Mohsin Naqvi said, “T20 cricket has a completely different and aggressive approach, victory will be possible only by playing according to the modern and new style of T20 cricket. Strategy can be made sitting in the room, but the real test is on the field,” adding that, “undoubtedly all the players are talented, professional and excellent, the bowling attack is excellent but fielding needs a lot of attention. The Pakistani nation loves cricket and the nation has expectations from its players.”

    The second match of the three-match T20 series will be played today.

    In the first match, Ireland defeated Pakistan by five wickets on Friday.

    Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, Faisal Vawda decide to remain single in Senate

    Former caretaker prime minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar and former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Faisal Vawda announced on Tuesday that they will not join either the government nor opposition sides in the Senate. 

    The Senate Secretariat released a notification about the six independent senators in the senate and their decision to join a party.
    According to the issued notification, two out of the six senators, Kakar and Vawda, decided to not join any side in the Senate.

    Similarly, Senator Mohsin Naqvi, who is also a federal interior minister, was not sure about joining a side in the upper house.

    However, Naqvi’s name was mentioned as a senator on the treasury bench with an additional note of “(Federal Minister, however, not yet opted)”.

    Senator Abdul Qadir joined the government benches after winning the senate polls. The senator was initially part of PTI and then left the party after May 9.

    Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi recently ordered the launch of ‘Marghalla Trail Patrol’ to provide security on the trails that zigzag across the hills. The decision has been widely criticised by netizens for its potential to harm the wilderness of the trails.

    Naqvi said in a tweet, “We’re launching the Margalla Trail Patrol to secure the beautiful trails of Margalla, especially for the safety of foreigners who love exploring them. Our tri-pronged security cover includes Trail Motorcycles, mounted Police (horses), and foot patrolling.” The minister even shared pictures of patrol police.

    Renowned journalist Gharida Farooqi responded by pointing out how the motor vehicles will violate the wilderness and climate protection concept. She wrote, “Wrong decision to introduce motor vehicles to Margalla Hills Trails. Basically against the preservation of wilderness and climate protection concept. This must be reversed.” Gharida demanded, “Protect and save Margalla Hills”. In the end she added that “safety of everyone is vital alike; be they [are] locals or not.”

    Netizens also jumped in the debate as another user agreed with Gharida by posting, “True. Safety matters”

    Social media climate activist Dawar Butt shared his two cents by posting , “So, Motorcyclists are banned in the National Park because it disturbs wildlife, but Motorcycle mounted security guards constantly patrolling the national park are fine?”

    Urban development specialist Momin Sheikh’s had a cynical response as he said, “This is the first time I’m seeing a country introduce petrol motorbikes on a hiking trail inside a national park. Who says we don’t innovate, we are the world leaders in horrible ideas”

    Another user pointed out that Rangers are already appointed in Margallas. It could have been better had they been empowered more by the government.

    Others pointed out that bikes will being noise and air pollution in the trails.

    Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi has said that first the Indian team will come to Pakistan and then further options can be discussed.

    Talking to media in Lahore yesterday, Chairman PCB said, “If the option of India-Pakistan series comes up, then we will see. Pakistan team is very busy till the Champions Trophy.”

    Talking about the team’s head coaches, he said, “Head coaches will be announced in a few days. Selectors are consulting with each other for the vice-captain, I think the decision will be made after the New Zealand series.”

    Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that a board has been formed on Ihsanullah’s injury. “They will determine who neglected the treatment. If we have to send Ihsanullah to America, we will send him there. Strict action will be taken against those who neglect the treatment. Every player is important, I am monitoring Azam Khan’s injury myself.”

    In responce to question on upgradation of stadiums he said, “Foreign companies have been contacted for the upgradation of domestic stadiums, there has been a delay of one and a half months due to contact with international companies.”

    India is not agreeing to visit Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025 scheduled in Pakistan. India did not visit Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023 due to which a hybrid model was announced.

    By-polls: Punjab requests suspension of mobile internet on polling day

    Punjab has requested the interior ministry on Saturday to shut down mobile networks and internet services in 13 districts and tehsils of the province on April 21, citing security concerns.

    The request has been made to maintain law and order in the province and avoid any untoward incidents.

    The provincial home department wrote a letter to the interior ministry for the suspension of internet on April 21 as multiple districts and constituencies are set to witness the conduct of by-polls after more than two months of February 8 general polls.

    Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has ordered the National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) to block all phone SIMs that are registered on an invalid or expired identity card.

    The security czar visited the NADRA headquarters on Thursday in Islamabad and directed authorities to establish NADRA offices all over Pakistan, just as the model police stations were established in Punjab.

    He also stated that by establishing model NADRA offices, service delivery will be enhanced.

    During a press conference in Lahore held on Monday, federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi pointed out that everyone knows how people who share fake videos in the United Arab Emirates or the UK are treated by those countries.

    He added that while there should be freedom of speech in Pakistan, there must also be a law under which a person making a false accusation can be arrested.

    As for the issue of the increased street crime in Karachi, the Interior Minister acknowledged the fact that the crimes are taking place in the city, but he also asserted that the police are fighting there on a daily basis.

    Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Mohsin Naqvi called for a list of ‘political-based recruitments’ in the Pakistan Cricket Board after he assumed office as chairman.

    According to Geo sources, Naqvi asked for details of the current posting, position and salary of the employees in addition to the list of ‘political and recommended recruitments’.

    On Naqvi’s instructions, the compilation of employee records has begun and important decisions are expected in this regard next week. It has also been stressed that lobbying or advocacy culture will be discouraged.

    Sources say that Naqvi will take immediate steps for trying to create a ‘smart team and smart operations’ in the organization.
