    2,080 police personnel martyred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s anti-terrorist war

    So far, 2,080 policemen and officers have been martyred in the war against terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

    According to police documents, the highest number -367 – have been martyred in Peshawar.

    Data provided by the police shows that 239 officers and personnel were martyred in Bannu, 234 in Dera Ismail Khan, 121 in Mardan, and 104 in Swat.

    The document also states that 111 elite force personnel were martyred across the province.

    One policeman was martyred in Karam district, two in Torghar, two in Kohistan, and four in Mohmand district.

    A memorial event will be held in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, on August 4 to honor the memory of the police martyrs.

    TLP’s Pir Zaheerul Hassan Shah still at large as police continues hunt

    The News has said that previous media reports of arrests of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) vice emir Pir Zaheerul Hassan Shah turned out to be not true as the police are struggling to arrest him.

    Reportedly, Shah has fled to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since late Monday when the government tightened the noose around TLP leaders for targeting the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa.

    “We have zeroed in on the cleric. We are not far from getting a hand on him,” said an official to The News.

    Previously, the culprit had announced a head-money of Rs10 million on Qazi Faez Isa in reaction to a decision of a three-member bench in the Mubarak Sani case.

    Meanwhile, FIRs have been filed against more than 1500 TLP members across the Punjab province after the government took a firm stance against the right wing religious party.

    Thirteen-year-old Laiba left her home to meet Kubra Khan without telling her parents. The girl said,“Kubra Khan is my idol, and I left my house to meet her.”
    The girl told police that she was motivated by her love for Kubra’s performances, particularly in Sinf-e-Aahan. The police, understanding the innocence of her actions, facilitated her safe return home with the assistance of the Punjab police.
      
    The girl was located by the police using CCTV footage. With some cash in hand, the girl left her house and caught a train to Karachi. Her brother filed a complaint with the police, claiming that his sister had been abducted.
      
    Kubra Khan was informed about the incident in London. She posted a story on her Instagram account about the incident: “So I’m in London, and this was just brought to my attention. I am at a loss of words. I love and appreciate all the love I receive from all my Kuberians. However, I need you guys to understand that your safety is the utmost important thing. The world is scarier than it used to be and I would never EVER want anyone to put themselves in a place of danger because of me. I pray and hope the little girl is safe and sound with her family. P.S. . once I’m back, I’m over-due for a Meet and greet in Lahore. Till then… please stay safe.”

    A police report reveals that Lahore ranks first in the number of children who run away from home due to disputes with their parents. Most boys and girls head to the railway station to leave for other cities.

    According to the Railway Police, ninety-six children from various cities in Punjab were returned to their parents over a period of three months. Children tend to leave home when their demands for phones, laptops, and other items are not met.

    The help desk explained to Samaa news that railway stations provide an accessible route for children to travel to other cities.

    More than 500 arrested in Bangladesh capital over violence: police

    More than 500 people, including some opposition leaders, have been arrested over days of clashes in the Bangladesh capital Dhaka sparked by protests against job quotas, police said Monday.

    “At least 532 people have been arrested over the violence,” Dhaka Metropolitan Police spokesman Faruk Hossain told AFP.

    “They include some BNP leaders,” he added, referring to the opposition Bangladesh National Party.

    The detainees included the BNP’s third-most senior leader Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury and its spokesman Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed, he said.

    A former national football captain turned senior BNP figure, Aminul Huq, was also held, he added.

    Mia Golam Parwar, the general secretary of the country’s largest Islamist party, Jamaat-e-Islami, was also arrested, Hossain said.

    He said at least three policemen had been killed during the unrest in the capital and about 1,000 injured, at least 60 of them critically.

    BNP spokesman A.K.M Wahiduzzaman told AFP that nationwide, “several hundred BNP leaders and activists were arrested in the past few days”.

    More than 200 Balochistan Police personnel dismissed

    IG Police Balochistan issued a notification revealing that more than 200 police personnel were terminated due to negligence and frequent absenteeism.

    The dismissed officials include constables, head constables, and ASIs, and they hail from various districts, including Loralai, Sabi, Kalat, Zhob, Naseerabad, Makran, and Quetta.

    Scholarships have been approved for special children of officers and officials of the Prisons Department of Punjab.

    The initiative has been approved by Punjab Home Department, on the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz. Each child will receive a scholarship of Rs 72,000.

    The scholarship will be awarded annually by the Punjab Prisons Foundation.

    Special children will be eligible for the scholarship once a year until they reach the age of eighteen years.

    It will require a physical disability certificate and enrollment in a special education institution.

    The Prisons Department has also been instructed to submit the cases of all eligible candidates to the Prisons Foundation by August 14.

    Five detectives, two dogs get abducted while searching for thief

    Five detectives searching for a thief were abducted in Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa along with two sniffer dogs.

    According to the police, the abduction occurred in Malazai, a suburb of Tank. The kidnappers have demanded a ransom of 100 million rupees for the release of the hostages.

    DPO Tank Abdul Salam Khalid told Geo News that a person named Noor Ali had hired a private company from Kohat to investigate a petty robbery incident at a house.

    The team, along with two Khoji dogs, were abducted by unknown armed men when they were on their way to Kohat after the investigation.

    Among the hostages, Shoaib Khan, Rafiullah, and Rais Khan belong to Kirk, while Shahid Aziz Bhatti and Majid Ali Okara are residents of Punjab.

    According to the DPO, the investigation team was called without informing the police, who have now started investigating the incident.

    The Sindh government will soon introduce a new online service allowing drivers to obtain their driving license (DL) at home.

    Announced during a CPO meeting chaired by IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon, the online driving license service will be available starting next week.

    Citizens will be able to benefit from online learning and renewal services, including obtaining an international DL at home.

    The online facility will reportedly cover all details, the license fee, and the bank collecting the fee. For license renewal or obtaining a permanent license, citizens will also need to submit medical fitness certificates and a b-form.

    According to the DIG, these documents must be submitted from an authorized private or government hospital.

    Proposals regarding the medical fitness and b-form requirements for overseas DL renewals are currently under consideration.

    IG Memon also suggested that the online DL service should begin on an experimental basis, adding that a mobile van service could also be introduced in the future to further assist citizens.

    Appeal against Maryam Nawaz for wearing police uniform not heard

    A sessions court in Lahore has not proceeded with a request to file a case against Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for wearing a police uniform.

    The hearing was adjourned till tomorrow as Additional Sessions Judge Muzaffar Nawaz was on leave.

    The court has sought a front desk report from the petitioner.

    Lawyer Waqar Shah had filed a request to register a case against Maryam Nawaz, arguing that the Chief Minister has violated the rules by wearing a police uniform.

    Lawyer Aftab Bajwa has also filed a plea against the CM for similar reasons.
