VIDEO: Kuldeep Yadav slaps Rinku Singh in heated exchange during IPL

In a shocking turn of events during the Indian Premier League (IPL), Delhi Capitals’ spinner Kuldeep Yadav slapped Kolkata Knight Riders’ batter Rinku Singh on the field following a heated exchange during the match.

A video of the incident has gone viral on social media platforms, showing Kuldeep Yadav striking Rinku Singh after the match concluded. The altercation reportedly began during the game, where tensions flared between the two Indian cricketers. On-field players intervened to calm the situation at the time, and the matter was later reported to the match referee.

However, the situation escalated again after the match ended. As players from both teams gathered, Kuldeep Yadav was seen slapping Rinku Singh in front of other cricketers and officials.

Kuldeep’s aggressive behaviour has drawn heavy criticism from fans and social media users, with many calling for strict disciplinary action. Several users have demanded that Kuldeep Yadav be fined or suspended for his inappropriate conduct.

The match itself ended in favour of Rinku Singh’s team, as the Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Delhi Capitals by 14 runs.

This incident has drawn comparisons to a similar episode from the inaugural IPL season in 2008, when former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh slapped his teammate Sreesanth during a match, an act that led to significant controversy and disciplinary action.

  • US expected to try to diffuse tension between Pakistan, India within next 24 hours

US expected to try to diffuse tension between Pakistan, India within next 24 hours

Amid escalating tension between Pakistan and India after the Pahalgam incident, the United States (US) State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce said on Tuesday that Secretary of State Marco Rubio is expected to speak with the foreign ministers of both India and Pakistan.

“We are reaching out to both parties, and telling them of course not to escalate the situation. The secretary is expected to speak with the foreign minister of Pakistan and India as early as today or tomorrow,” the State Department spokesperson said when a journalist posed a question during the press briefing.

Following the Pahalgam incident, without providing verifiable evidence, India has attempted to link Pakistan to the attack. Pakistan has firmly denied the allegations and has offered to participate in a neutral and transparent international investigation.

Bruce said that the Secretary of State is also encouraging other foreign ministers and national leaders to reach out to the nuclear-armed arch rivals in a bid to diffuse tensions, adding that action is being taken every day.

While the State Department stopped short of commenting on specific allegations, the spokesperson reiterated the US position: “We are watching the situation closely and remain in direct touch with both governments. We are, of course, encouraging all the parties to work together for a responsible solution. The world is watching this.”

On being asked about recent collaboration following Pakistan’s facilitation in the arrest of an Islamic State Khorasan suspect, Bruce acknowledged Pakistan’s cooperation, noting: “We appreciated that arrest when it occurred.”

When asked about Pakistani minister Khwaja Asif’s statement about historic cooperation with the US, Bruce declined to offer specific commentary, instead highlighting ongoing multi-level engagement with Islamabad.

VIDEO: Indian fans ‘send’ water bottles for Hania Aamir

Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, who has a huge fan following in India, recently became the subject of a viral meme video created by some of her Indian fans.

The video surfaced after rising tensions between India and Pakistan following a tragic terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. In response to the Indian government’s five-point plan—reportedly including the possibility of revisiting the Indus Waters Treaty signed in 1960—some Indian social media users made a light-hearted meme.

In the video, fans are seen packing water bottles into a box labeled with Hania Aamir’s name and address in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. The clip was clearly made in a humorous spirit and was intended as playful content, not meant to be taken seriously.

However, some viewers felt the timing was inappropriate and commented that jokes on sensitive issues should be avoided.

Earlier, Hania Aamir had shared a message of peace in response to the Kashmir tragedy. In an Instagram story, she wrote, “Tragedy anywhere is a tragedy for all of us. My heart is with the innocent lives affected by the recent events. In pain, in grief, and hope—we are one.”

She also added, “When innocent lives are lost, the pain is not theirs alone—it belongs to all of us. No matter where we come from, grief speaks the same language. May we choose humanity, always.”

The water bottle video was just meme content created for entertainment. There is no real shipping involved, as direct delivery to Pakistan is not possible from India, especially with cross-border transit currently suspended due to diplomatic restrictions.

Meanwhile, Hania was said to be working alongside Diljit Dosanjh in the upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3. While the UK schedule has been completed, there are reports that the team might reshoot her scenes with another actress. However, there’s no official statement yet from the filmmakers.

  • ‘News channels called my parents to ask if I’m alive’;  Alizeh Shah slams rumours after Instagram exit

‘News channels called my parents to ask if I’m alive’;  Alizeh Shah slams rumours after Instagram exit

Actor Alizeh Shah has revealed that constant trolling and criticism have taken a serious toll on her emotional and physical health. She has stated that the pressure became so much that she had to step away from social media and distance herself from people around her.

In a detailed Instagram story, she opened up about her struggles, saying, “The trolling, the constant criticism, the negativity — it didn’t just hurt me emotionally. It’s now affecting my physical health. It reached a point where I had no choice but to isolate myself completely — not just from social media, but from everyone around me. I feel broken, exhausted, and overwhelmed in ways I can’t even explain.”

After facing “constant criticism,” the Ehd-e-Wafa actor unfollowed everyone on Instagram and deleted all her posts, leaving behind just two highlights — one about Gaza, and another saying she was not on Snapchat.

She continued: “Even after updating my bio and clearly saying I’m alive, some people still chose to spread rumors. News channels have contacted my parents, asking if I’m dead. Imagine what that does to a family, to a mother’s heart. Please, understand how much this has hurt me and the people I love.”

Alizeh expressed deep uncertainty about her future on social media and television, saying: “Right now, I genuinely don’t know when or if I’ll ever return to Instagram or TV dramas. The pressure became too much. The weight of it has made me physically sick.”

She added a heartfelt plea: “All I ask is for some space… Please stop contacting my family. Please stop making up stories. Please just let me breathe.”

Over the years, Alizeh has often been hounded online by trolls for personal choices, including smoking in her car, cutting her hair short, setting work boundaries, or wearing a tank top.

Recently, she was also involved in a public disagreement with actor Zarnish Khan. In an interview on Voice Over Man, Zarnish said Alizeh would win in a “rudeness competition.” Zarnish later apologised, but Alizeh posted a screenshot of their chat and replied, “It won’t fix the damage you did. I do not forgive you.”

She also claimed that her mother called Zarnish to ask why she made such comments, and Zarnish promised to share the truth in a video. However, according to Alizeh, she later blocked her mother’s number.

  • ‘Credible intel’ indicates India intends military action against Pakistan within 36 hours: Tarar

‘Credible intel’ indicates India intends military action against Pakistan within 36 hours: Tarar

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Wednesday morning stated that Pakistan has “credible intelligence” indicating that India intends to conduct a military action against Pakistan in the next 24 to 36 hours on the pretext of baseless and concocted allegations of involvement in the Pahalgam incident in held Kashmir.

The situation between the two countries remained tense following the attack in Pahalgam, a tourist spot, which had killed 26 people, including a Nepalese national. Without conducting a transparent investigation and concrete evidence, fingers were pointed towards Pakistan, alleging that it had orchestrated the attack. Pakistan has firmly rejected the accusations.

Issuing a video statement on state television, the federal minister said that Pakistan strongly rejects India’s self-assumed hubristic role of judge, jury, and executioner in the region.

He underscored that Pakistan itself has been facing terrorism for the past two decades and has consistently condemned terrorism in all its forms across the world. “Being a responsible state, Pakistan open-heartedly offered a credible, transparent, and independent investigation by a neutral commission of experts to ascertain the truth,” he said.

The minister added that following the Pahalgam attack, Pakistan, as a responsible state, had offered to conduct an independent and impartial investigation.

He noted, however, that India has apparently decided to tread the dangerous path of irrationality and confrontation, which, according to him, will have catastrophic consequences for the entire region and beyond.

Tarar further said that the evasion of credible investigations is in itself sufficient evidence exposing India’s real motives. “Consciously making strategic decisions hostage to public sentiments, purposefully trumped up for securing political objectives, is unfortunate and deplorable,” he added.

Additionally, the federal minister made it clear that any kind of military adventurism from India will be met with a definite and decisive response. He emphasised that the international community must understand that the responsibility for the catastrophic consequences of war will lie solely with India.

The minister’s statement came a day after Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, while appearing on a private media outlet, cautioned about the possibility of both countries engaging in war in the next two to four days.

“There is a war looming on the horizon. A very vivid possibility is there that we can have a war in the next two to four days,” Asif said. However, he clarified that, not being a military strategist, he was making such a guess as a political worker.

  • Pakistan likely to move forward without Babar, Rizwan in T20Is

Pakistan likely to move forward without Babar, Rizwan in T20Is

The future of Pakistan’s T20I team is heading in a new direction without the experienced duo of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.

According to media reports, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is planning not to recall the two senior players for the upcoming home series against Bangladesh.

The five-match T20I series, scheduled after the PSL 2025 tournament, is expected to feature several new faces. However, reports suggest that neither Babar nor Rizwan will be considered for selection.

The duo have not played a T20I for Pakistan since 13 December 2024, as the team has been experimenting with a younger and more aggressive batting line-up. Despite being Pakistan’s top two run-scorers in T20 internationals, Babar at No. 1 and Rizwan at No. 2, the PCB is moving towards a playing style that aligns with the demands of modern-day T20 cricket.

While the results have not been ideal, with Pakistan recently losing 4-1 to New Zealand, the team management appears committed to continuing this transition. The return of players like Saim Ayub, Fakhar Zaman, and Sahibzada Farhan indicates that, for now, there is no room for the older guard.

The absence of Babar and Rizwan may signal a major shift in Pakistan’s T20 plans. With the Asia Cup later this year and the T20 World Cup next year, Pakistan seems ready to enter a new era of T20 cricket without its two most seasoned batters.

The upcoming series against Bangladesh will offer a closer look at what the future of Pakistan cricket in the shortest format could look like. A series of defeats at home, however, could raise serious questions. Still, the PCB appears firm in its stance for now.

  • Pakistan-Bangladesh T20I series schedule confirmed with one major change

Pakistan-Bangladesh T20I series schedule confirmed with one major change

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially released the schedule for the upcoming T20 International series against Bangladesh.

According to the announcement, Pakistan and Bangladesh will face off in a five-match T20I series, replacing the previously planned ODI and T20 format.

Initially, the tour was set to include three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three T20Is. However, in light of preparations for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, the boards mutually agreed to replace the ODIs with two additional T20 matches, making it a five-match T20I series.

Both the Pakistan Cricket Board and the Bangladesh Cricket Board agreed to the changes, considering the importance of preparing for the T20 Asia Cup later this year and the T20 World Cup scheduled for next year.

According to the new schedule, the first two T20 matches will be held in Faisalabad on May 25 and 27. The remaining three matches will be played at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on May 30, June 1, and June 3. All five matches will begin at 8:00 PM local time.

This series also marks the return of international cricket to Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium after a gap of 17 years, adding further significance to the tour.

The series is expected to play a crucial role in both teams’ preparation for major upcoming T20 tournaments.

  • Shahid Afridi’s tea invitation riles up Indians

Shahid Afridi’s tea invitation riles up Indians

Former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi took a thinly veiled jibe at right-wing war mongers in India by posting a picture of himself in an army-style camouflage shirt while holding a cup of tea. The post, which appeared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), was a direct response to a tweet by former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan.

Afridi, taking a jibe at Dhawan, captioned the post with a mocking message: “Chhoro jeet haar ko! Aao Shikhar tumhein chai pilata hoon (Forget winning and losing! Come, Shikhar, let me serve you some tea).”

The picture, along with the sarcastic caption, triggered strong reactions from Indian fans, many of whom posted inappropriate comments. However, Afridi’s supporters and netizens from around the world quickly came to his defence, criticizing the toxic responses from Indian users.

This social media spat took place after Shikhar Dhawan posted a tweet a day earlier, in which he fired back at Afridi, saying: “We even defeated you in Kargil; how much lower will you fall? We are proud of our army.”

The war of words between the former cricketers was initially sparked by Afridi’s criticism of the Indian military following the recent Pahalgam incident. Afridi had questioned the Indian army’s failure, saying: “Even if a firecracker explodes there, Pakistan gets blamed. Despite having 800,000 troops in occupied Kashmir, this incident still happened — which means you’re incompetent and useless, unable to provide security to your own people.”

He also brought up the issue of sports diplomacy, saying: “During the 2016 T20 World Cup, even though the situation was tense, our team still went to India. We ourselves weren’t sure whether we’d go or not. India sends its kabaddi team to Pakistan but not the cricket team. If you want to cut ties, then stop everything.”

Tensions between Pakistan and India have intensified after militants opened fire at a well-known tourist site, killing at least 26 individuals and wounding several more.

The attack happened on Tuesday, April 22, at Pahalgam, a popular destination in Indian-occupied Kashmir that welcomes thousands of tourists each year.

PSL 10: Quetta Gladiators crush Multan Sultans by 10 wickets

Quetta Gladiators on Tuesday registered a dominant 10-wicket win over Multan Sultans in the 10th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

As per the details, Quetta won the toss and decided to bowl first at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

Batting first, Multan scored just 89 runs in 17 overs, which is now their lowest total in PSL history. Captain Mohammad Rizwan was the only standout performer with the bat, scoring 44 runs off 44 balls, including three fours and one six. The rest of the batting lineup collapsed under pressure, failing to build any partnerships.

Quetta’s bowling attack was led by Khurram Shahzad, who took four wickets for only 23 runs. He struck early by dismissing Yasir Khan and Usman Khan in his first over and then removed Kamran Ghulam and Curtis Campher in the next. Faheem Ashraf and Mohammad Wasim Jr also contributed two wickets each, helping to bowl out Multan for a below-par score.

During the second innings, Quetta chased down the 90-run target in just seven overs without losing a wicket. Openers Saud Shakeel and Finn Allen made the chase look easy with an aggressive start. Saud remained not out on 42, hitting four sixes and three fours, while Finn Allen scored 45 runs with five sixes and two fours.

With this win, Quetta have now secured their third consecutive victory and fourth win in six matches. Multan, on the other hand, suffered their sixth defeat in seven games.

Sultans will play their next match against Karachi Kings on May 1 in Lahore. Their last two league matches will be in Multan – against Peshawar Zalmi on May 5 and Quetta again on May 11.
