    Naseebo Lal accuses husband of hitting her in the face with a brick

    Renowned singer Naseebo Lal has reportedly become the latest victim of domestic violence by her husband, months after film actress and stage artist Nargis was allegedly assaulted by her husband Majid Bashir.

    A First Information Report (FIR), which was filed today (Saturday) at Shahdra Police Station Lahore against Naseebo’s husband Naveed Hussain, stated, “At 5 PM, I was sitting in the courtyard of my house when my husband, Naveed Hussain, came home. As soon as he arrived, he started insulting me.”

    It further read that after verbally abusing the singer, Hussain picked up a brick from nearby and hit her in the face with it, causing severe injuries to the left side of the singer’s face and nose.

    “He often argues and fights with me, but today he hit me with a brick, severely insulted me, and physically abused me, which is a serious violation,” the FIR says, adding that legal action should be taken against him.

    Naseebo Lal is widely recognised for her folk songs in Urdu, Punjabi, Saraiki and Marwari, numerous film tracks, the anthem for the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and appearances in Coke Studio. 

    Naseebo’s husband was arrested by the police in December 2024 for injuring a person by opening fire in his neighbourhood in Shahdara Town, Lahore.

    As per the FIR, a fight broke out between Naveed and other people from the neighbourhood, during which the singer’s husband opened fire.

    One person was injured by Naveed’s firing during the fight and was immediately shifted to the hospital, according to the FIR.

    The domestic violence incident came months after dancer Nargis filed a case against her husband Majid Bashir in Lahore for allegedly assaulting her.

    In the FIR, she alleged that her husband “wanted to put my property documents, cash, and farmhouse in his name” and that “the accused wanted to usurp a 9- kanal plot.”

    However, according to the actress, following her refusal, “He [Bashir] subjected me to assault, repeatedly punched me in the face with an official pistol, tortured me in front of household staff and my nephew, and locked me in a room.”

    As per the police, she was allegedly assaulted by her husband in Lahore’s Defence C area. “After the quarrel, she also came to the police station last night but has not filed any complaint yet,” the police added.

    A recent road rage incident in Lahore has sparked widespread concern among citizens and public figures, raising serious questions about safety in public spaces.

    The altercation occurred at the Dharampura Underpass when an armed security guard opened fire on a motorist after a heated argument. A bullet struck the motorist’s car, prompting him to confront the guard. In response, other guards attacked the motorist before fleeing the scene, abandoning their vehicle and weapons.

    Footage of the incident quickly went viral on social media, showing armed guards escorting a luxury car and recklessly firing in a public area. The situation caused panic as nearby vehicles scrambled to avoid the danger, intensifying public outrage.

    Reacting to the footage, actor Sami Khan condemned the reckless display of firearms and criticised bystanders for their inaction.

    He said,  “This is Pakistan, where everyone is just watching the show, but no one is coming to the rescue of the rider in white. And how dare that guard fire in public like this… There are so many cars that might have had families in them.”

    Actor Zara Tareen also weighed in, criticising regional biases in the aftermath of the incident.

    She remarked, “This is wrong no matter where it happens, yet all I see is people in Punjab complaining that this can only happen in Karachi and calling it ‘Karachi culture.’ Well, maybe some places should stay villages and not become cities when they don’t know how — how about that? Ridiculous.”

    Many social media users applauded the motorist’s bravery in confronting the armed guards and called for strict action against such misuse of power. Several urged authorities to ensure justice and demanded an end to the VIP culture that endangers ordinary citizens.

    Lahore police have seized the abandoned vehicle and weapons. A case has been registered under the Anti-Terrorism Act, and authorities are working to identify and apprehend the suspects using surveillance footage.

    The motorist, Muhammad Imran, later revealed that he managed to stop one of the guards from firing a second shot. His courage has been widely praised, with calls for justice echoing online.

    A major theft was reported at the farmhouse of former cricketers Kamran Akmal and Umar Akmal’s father in Lahore’s Hayer area. Thieves broke in during daylight and stole a solar system worth PKR 500,000.

    According to details, the culprits entered the farmhouse by breaking the main gate’s lock and fled after dismantling the solar panels.

    Kamran Akmal’s father expressed his disappointment, saying, “We installed the solar system just yesterday, and today it has been stolen.”

    Upon receiving the report, Hayer police immediately reached the scene. Officials stated that the suspects are being traced using CCTV footage and other sources.

    SP Cantt Owais Shafiq confirmed that a case has been registered on the complaint of the farmhouse’s coach, Kashif Mehmood. He further instructed SDPO Burki Ghulam Dastgir Khan to track down and arrest the culprits as soon as possible.

    The political committee of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to take up the issue of the party’s official social media accounts being used irresponsibly against army and national interests with its incarcerated founder Imran Khan, The News reported on Saturday.

    As per the report, the opposition party’s top brass, including Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Chief Minister (CM) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Ali Amin Gandapur, party Secretary General Salman Akram Raja, Opposition leader in the Senate Shibli Faraz, KP party president Junaid Akbar, ex-PTI Information Secretary Raoof Hasan, former speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser, Amir Dogar and Hafiz Farhat attended a meeting of the political committee meeting which held in KP House, Islamabad.

    During the meeting, concerns were raised over aggressive and unregulated content posted on PTI’s official social media platforms.

    It was decided that senior party leaders, in their forthcoming visit to Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, will urge Imran Khan to implement oversight mechanisms to prevent the misuse of these platforms, including those directly associated with him.

    As per insiders, top leaders will advise the founder of PTI to establish a committee comprising key PTI leaders to vet all content before it is posted on the party’s official accounts, including “X” (formerly Twitter) and Facebook. The main objective of this proposal is to curb the influence of overseas individuals who are allegedly using these accounts for anti-military campaigns and posts that could harm Pakistan’s interests.

    One senior party source stated that nearly all top party leaders agreed that stricter controls are necessary.

    PTI’s senior leadership has no control over the party’s social media apparatus, which is reportedly managed from overseas. Even Barrister Gohar, Salman Akram Raja, and Shiekh Waqas Akram have no influence over the content being posted. Efforts to engage PTI’s US chapter to curb controversial narratives have reportedly been ignored in the past.

    The News further reported that psrty leaders complain that their statements and press conferences are ignored by PTI’s official accounts, which instead focus on the posts and statements of some YouTubers living abroad.

    Such is the pressure from PTI’s social media and select diaspora groups that party leaders hesitate to contradict propaganda, even when it is false or exaggerated. Many believe that only Imran Khan can bring the party’s digital platforms under structured editorial control. 

    However, past attempts to convince the jailed party founder have been unsuccessful, as he has consistently praised and endorsed the content disseminated by PTI’s official social media accounts.

    During a recent episode of Javeria Saud’s Ramadan show on Express TV, a man from Karachi’s Malir area called in and claimed that he was repeatedly fined by the traffic police despite having all the necessary documents.

    The caller stated, “I have all the documents of my vehicle, including a driving license, but still, the traffic police find some fault and issue me a challan every day.”

    Expressing frustration, he further requested, “I am fed up with these daily challans, so please tell me a wazifa to avoid them.”

    The Maulvi Sahib present on the show responded by addressing traffic police personnel, urging them to show compassion toward motorcyclists.

    He remarked, “The most injustice is done to motorcyclists. First, petrol is expensive, and on top of that, they keep getting challans.”

    He also pointed out, “Most motorcyclists work as daily wage laborers, so the authorities should be considerate towards them.”

    Surprisingly, the Maulvi Sahib even suggested a spiritual wazifa to avoid traffic challans. He advised, “Motorcyclists should start reciting this wazifa as soon as they see the traffic police, and they will not be issued a challan.”

    The viral video has sparked mixed reactions, with many social media users claiming that such calls are staged to boost the program’s ratings. Others found the situation amusing, while some criticized the caller’s approach.

    The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has launched an investigation against model and actress Nadia Hussain under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) after she accused an FIA officer of demanding a bribe.

    According to Dawn News, an FIA spokesperson stated that a fraudster contacted Nadia Hussain on WhatsApp, posing as a senior FIA officer and using the officer’s photo as a display picture.

    The spokesperson further revealed, “Nadia Hussain contacted FIA Karachi, and we asked her to file a formal complaint, but she did not do so.”

    The FIA also warned that “making baseless allegations against the FIA on social media is a crime under the law.”

    A day before the FIA’s statement, Nadia Hussain released an audio call allegedly involving an FIA officer demanding a Rs 30 million bribe in exchange for her husband’s release.


    Her husband, Atif Muhammad Khan, was arrested in a fraud case earlier in the week. Nadia Hussain claimed that an individual posing as an FIA officer pressured her for money.

    In her Instagram videos, she addressed the situation, saying:

    “I know everyone has been waiting for my statement regarding my husband’s arrest.”

    “Whether my husband has committed fraud or not will be determined through investigation. He has only been taken in for questioning so far.”


    “Where were the officers of the company that accused my husband of fraud when the alleged fraud was happening?”

    In the leaked audio call, a man named Noman can be heard saying:


    “I and Nadia Hussain’s husband, Atif Muhammad Khan, have reached a deal. Now, if the actress provides the money, arrangements will be made for her husband’s release.”

    The controversy has sparked widespread discussion, with FIA now investigating Nadia Hussain under cybercrime laws for the public accusations. Neither Nadia Hussain nor FIA officials have provided further statements regarding the matter.

    Internal memo reveals details of Trump’s potential visa ban on Pakistan, other countries

    United States (US) is considering issuing broad travel restrictions for the citizens of dozens of countries as part of a new ban, Reuters has reported.

    The internal memo lists a total of 41 countries divided into three separate groups. Afghanistan, Iran, Syria, Cuba and North Korea, among others, are in the first group of 10 countries that would face full visa suspensions.

    In the second group, five countries—including Eritrea, Haiti, Laos, Myanmar and South Sudan—would face partial suspensions affecting tourist and student visas as well as other immigrant visas, with some exceptions.

    In the third group, Pakistan and 25 countries, including Belarus, Chad and Turkmenistan, are being considered for potential partial suspension of U.S. visa issuance. This action would be considered if their governments fail to address identified deficiencies within 60 days, according to Reuters.

    A U.S. official told Reuters on the condition of not being named that there could be changes on the list and that it had yet to be approved by the administration, including U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

    The move harkens back to President Donald Trump’s first-term ban on travelers from seven majority-Muslim nations, a policy that went through several iterations before it was upheld by the Supreme Court in 2018.

    On January 20, Trump issued an executive order requiring intensified security vetting of any foreigners seeking admission to the U.S. to detect national security threats.

    That order directed several cabinet members to submit by March 21 a list of countries from which travel should be partly or fully suspended because their “vetting and screening information is so deficient.”

    Trump’s directive is part of an immigration crackdown that he launched at the start of his second term.
    He previewed his plan in an October 2023 speech, pledging to restrict people from the Gaza Strip, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Yemen and “anywhere else that threatens our security.”


    The memo categorizes 41 countries into three distinct groups.

    However, as per the New York Times, Pakistan, along with Russia, Belarus, and Turkmenistan, is on the proposed Orange list of the Trump Administration, where only citizens holding business visas would be allowed to enter the US. Immigrant and tourist visas would not be allowed to enter the US.
