    Dispute with brother-in-law ends in fatal shooting in Lyari

    A man was shot dead and another injured during a confrontation over a domestic dispute in the Bihar Colony area of Lyari, Karachi, police confirmed on Sunday.

    Initial reports stated that the incident took place inside an apartment in the Ali Arcade building. The deceased was identified as Saif-ur-Rehman, and the injured man as Adnan, police said.

    According to the officials, Adnan had arrived at his in-laws’ residence with his friend Saif-ur-Rehman to resolve a dispute with his wife, who had returned to her parents’ home. During the visit, an argument broke out between Adnan and his brother-in-law, Shahid.

    Police claimed Shahid reportedly opened fire during the altercation, resulting in the death of Saif-ur-Rehman and injuries to Adnan. The suspect fled the scene immediately after the shooting.

    Law enforcement shifted the body and the injured to the Civil Hospital for medico-legal procedures and treatment.

    The crime scene unit was called to collect evidence, and a case is being registered.

    Police have launched an investigation and are conducting raids to apprehend the suspect.

    Statements from eyewitnesses and family members are also being recorded to determine the sequence of events.

    Lahore horror: Teenage brothers kill mother, sister for ‘honour’ with father’s help

    Two teenaged brothers have brutally murdered both their mother and sister in the name of so-called ‘honor’ on __ in Lahore’s Kahna,  leaving the entire community in disbelief.

    The victims — Rukhsana and her daughter Ramsha — were killed with a sharp-edged weapon. Police have confirmed that the attack was so brutal that both women died on the spot.

    According to officials, the suspects — 15-year-old Ali Hassan and 17-year-old Zain — committed the heinous act with the assistance of their father, Yousuf. The murders took place in the Suay Asil area, and all three suspects were arrested by police within an hour of the crime.

    DIG Operations Faisal Kamran has taken notice of the case, instructing police to lodge an FIR on behalf of the state and to investigate the matter with utmost seriousness.

    It is important to note that just two months ago, a case had been registered after the mother and daughter allegedly ran away from home. They had only returned a day before the attack — and were tragically killed soon after by the teenage boys.

    Habibullah attacked his brother-in-law Sharif, 24, near Singer Chowrangi in Karachi’s Korangi area. The attack, perpetrated with sticks, left Sharif dead and his brother Saleem, 25, injured. 

    Police reached the area, located close to a rickshaw stand in Sharafi Goth, and arrested Habibullah, confirming that he is indeed Sharif’s wife’s brother. 

    Habibullah admitted under questioning that he attacked Sharif after he physically assaulted his sister. 

    Both Sharif and Habibullah drove rickshaws in the area. 

    Police are investigating the matter.

    A 21-year-old student lost her life after falling from the first-floor at Lahore’s Kinnaird College.

    The student, identified as Maida, fell from the library located on the first floor of a college building, and was immediately rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

    She succumbed to her injuries in the emergency room, reports said, adding that Maida was pursuing a BS in Computer Sciences.

    According to the police, she fell after feeling unwell and fainting. Further investigations are currently underway.

    TikToker Ayat Maryam has reportedly been killed by her husband after a domestic argument turned violent in Lahore. 

    The tragedy occurred in the Nawab Town area, where Ayat was allegedly strangled to death by her husband Saad, following a minor dispute.

    Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr. Ghayur Ahmad Khan said that Nawab Town police used modern technology and quick investigation tactics to arrest the suspect within 24 hours.


    According to the police, frequent arguments between the couple were common. A case has been registered, and Saad has been handed over to the investigation department for further interrogation.

    Authorities believe that more details — including the exact motive — will come to light as the investigation continues.

    A tragic incident unfolded at a wedding hall in Wazirabad, where a security guard shot and killed a labourer after an argument over collecting money tossed by wedding guests.

    According to reports, guests at the wedding had tossed money as part of a common celebration. The labourer tried to pick up some of the notes outside the hall, leading to a heated argument with the security guard. The fight quickly escalated, and, following alleged instructions from the hall owner and his nephew, the guard opened fire on the worker.

    The victim, who was a father of five, died on the spot.

    After a complaint from the victim’s brother, police registered a case against the security guard, the hall owner, and the owner’s nephew.

    However, despite the FIR being filed, no arrests have been made yet.

    The Gulberg Police have apprehended two individuals involved in selling counterfeit match tickets during a raid conducted at various gates of the Gaddafi Stadium. 

    According to SHO Gulberg, Taimoor Abbas Khan, Ayaz Ahmed and Abdul Tawab had been posing as employees of TCS to sell fake tickets to unsuspecting citizens.

    The operation was carried out under the supervision of SP Ikhlaq Ullah Tarar, who ensured the successful capture of the suspects. “Abdul Tawab was caught red-handed selling counterfeit tickets at Gate No. 15, while Ayaz Ahmed was arrested at the FIFA Gate, also for selling fake tickets,” police said.

    The police recovered a large number of fake match tickets from the possession of the arrested men, which were being sold to the public. SHO Gulberg Taimoor Abbas Khan confirmed, “Cases have been filed against the suspects, and further investigations are underway.” He assured the public that the police would continue their crackdown on those selling counterfeit tickets to protect citizens from further harm.

    DIG Operations Lahore Muhammad Faisal Kamran praised the operation, emphasizing, “The police are committed to not only ensuring the best security for matches but also to eradicating the business of counterfeit ticket sales.” He reiterated that the police will take all necessary steps to safeguard citizens and maintain match security.

    On the other hand, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the rescheduling of two matches of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10.

    According to an official statement, a match initially scheduled to be played in  Multan on May 1 has been shifted to Lahore. The Sultans will face Karachi Kings at Gaddafi Stadium, with the match set to begin at 3 PM. Originally, the match was to be held during the day at Multan Cricket Stadium. Now, Gaddafi Stadium will host a doubleheader on May 1, as Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators will also play later in the evening.

    Additionally, the match between Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators, initially planned for May 10 in Multan, has been rescheduled to May 11 at the same venue. PCB stated that these changes were made after several rounds of consultations, keeping operational ease and the ongoing heatwave in mind.

    As part of the adjustments, tickets for the May 1 match in Multan will be refunded. Ticket holders in Lahore will now get to enjoy two matches on the same day. Tickets purchased for the May 10 match in Multan will be valid for the rescheduled fixture on May 11.

    A young man was shot dead during a wedding ceremony in Wazirabad, Punjab, while collecting money thrown by guests.

    Rescue officials said that as part of the celebrations, guests were throwing money on to the wedding venue. A number of people, including adults and children, rushed to the area to collect the money. A young man tried climbing a roof next to the wedding hall during the commotion in order to gather more notes.

    Eyewitnesses stated that security guards at the venue warned him against climbing to the roof. However, when he did not comply, one of the guards opened fire. The young man was hit by a bullet and died on the spot.

    Rescue moved the body to a local hospital. The dead boy was identified as Farrukh Zaib.

    Police officials confirmed that security guard Alam Zaib who fired the shot has fled from the site of the incident. In an attempt to apprehend the culprit, law enforcement started a search operation. 

    Authorities are investigating the incident further. The wedding event continued under police presence, wgile security arrangements at similar events are being reviewed to avoid such incidents in the future.

    The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Corruption Circle in Lahore has arrested the alleged leader of a group involved in unauthorised human organ transplantation.

    The action was taken following a formal complaint submitted by a citizen affected by the illegal procedure.

    The accused, Muhammad Irfan Aslam, allegedly created fake tissue matching reports to facilitate kidney transplants, according to the FIA spokesperson.

    Private healthcare facilities were used for these operations, which were not authorised by law or in accordance with medical standards.

    According to the initial investigation, the person had been avoiding law enforcement since 2024 and had ties to an organised network involved in the illegal trading of human organs.

    The network is believed to operate by exploiting patients in need of transplants, bypassing legal and ethical frameworks established for organ donation and surgery.

    FIA officials also mentioned that other suspects and facilitators involved in the network would be arrested soon.

    Authorities confirmed that violations of organ transplant rules would be dealt with in accordance with the relevant legislation.

    A female police officer in Lahore has been arrested after a 9mm pistol linked to a robbery was allegedly recovered from her residence, raising serious concerns about internal accountability within the force.

    The arrest took place under DIG Operations Faisal Kamran’s zero-tolerance policy, which focuses on eliminating misuse of authority, corruption, and disorder within police ranks.

    The officer, Sub-Inspector Sania, was serving as the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Lytton Road Women Police Station at the time of her arrest.

    According to a spokesperson for Lahore Police, the pistol was discovered during a raid at her residence. The operation was launched after a suspect, currently under investigation, confessed during interrogation that the weapon used in multiple street crimes in the Kahna area was in the possession of a policewoman.

    Acting on this information, a police team raided Sania’s house and recovered the firearm.

    Following an internal inquiry, the DIG ordered her immediate arrest and directed officials to register a case against her.

    DIG Faisal Kamran emphasised that the department is committed to strict accountability.

    “No one involved in wrongdoing will be spared. Accountability will continue under our policy of fair reward and punishment,” he said.

    The arrest has stirred discussions around internal discipline and the importance of holding law enforcement officers to the highest standards of conduct.
