Police said that the incident was first reported as a home fire that killed a woman and two children.

However, a person identified as Wejho Bheel confessed to deliberately starting a fire through the course of the inquiry. He also confessed the  physically assaulting the victim before the crime.

Maryam Bheel, who was pregnant when she died, her two-year-old son Khushhaal, and her five-year-old son Harlal died in the fire in Sindhri, within the jurisdiction of Mirpurkhas district.

  • Three sisters gunned down in revenge murders

Three sisters gunned down in revenge murders

The chilling murder of three sisters in Dera Ismail Khan has sent shockwaves across the country, leaving residents gripped with fear.

The incident took place in the Ramak area of Tehsil Proa, where unidentified gunmen opened fire on the three young women, killing them on the spot.

Local police have said that the incident seems to be a continuation of a prior personal dispute.

The sisters were said to have participated in the killing of a lady who was the sister of a man named Haroon a few months prior.

The sisters had been accused of stabbing Haroon’s sister. Tensions between the two families increased after the murder.

According to police sources, Haroon demanded revenge and put forward a disturbing condition for reconciliation.

He allegedly informed the brothers of the deceased women, Siddiq and Younis, that any hope of a settlement or forgiveness would only be possible if they avenged his sister’s death by killing their own sisters.

In an unexpected twist of events, Siddiq and Younis are accused of conspiring with Haroon to kill their own  blood rather than defending their siblings.

Authorities have confirmed that the murders were not the result of a broader tribal or group conflict, but rather a calculated and shocking act of mutual agreement between the involved parties.

Police are trying to apprehend everyone involved in the horrible act while investigations are still in progress.

It brings up significant problems about the social ideals of honor, revenge, and justice particularly in places where personal grudges are still resolved out of court, sometimes with tragic consequences.

    Gaming and violence

In June 2022, a 16-year-old boy in India allegedly shot dead his mother with his father’s pistol because she stopped him from playing PUBG. After murdering his mother, the boy called his friends over for a party. He kept the body of his mother in another room, turned on the AC and sprayed air-freshener to keep the smell out.

As per the police, the boy killed his mother when she was asleep with her 10-year-old daughter lying next to her. He then allegedly threatened to kill his sister if she told anybody about the murder. They have both been placed in a juvenile detention centre.

“The incident took place in Yamunapuram Colony under PGI police station area. The deceased used to live with her two children at the house. Her husband, who is a JCO (Junior Commissioned Officer), is currently posted in West Bengal. The 16-year-old boy was addicted to the online game PUBG. He told us that his mother used to stop him from playing the game, and this is why he killed her. Armed robbers gang-rape woman after tying up her husband

A woman was reportedly gang-raped by armed robbers on Tuesday in Faisalabad’s Sandal Bar area after the robbers tied up her husband with a shalwar drawstring belt.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), the couple was returning home from the Agriculture University Hostel on a motorcycle when two armed men stopped them on the Chak No. 62 JB Channan motorway bridge.

The armed men were described as one of average height, aged around 17–18 years with a skinny build, and the other around 25–26 years with a slim build; both were wearing shalwar kameez.

According to the FIR, the armed men stopped the couple at gunpoint and snatched Rs800 in cash, a mobile phone, and the woman’s identity card before taking the husband to a nearby sugarcane field, where they tied him up.

The suspects then also took the woman to the sugarcane field, and one of the robbers called a third accomplice on a motorcycle. The third suspect, described as tall and well-built, arrived at the scene.

“All three of them raped my wife one by one and then fled the scene,” the FIR read, noting that the victim’s husband initially searched for the suspects himself before reporting the incident to the police the next day, on Wednesday, via the emergency helpline.

Meanwhile, as per the authorities, the victim’s medical examination has been completed, and Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) samples have been sent for forensic analysis.

Police have launched a search operation after filing a case against unidentified suspects under robbery and sexual assault charges.

Geofencing of the crime scene led to the detention of three suspects, and further investigations are underway, as per the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP).

The horrifying crime comes years after two robbers gang-raped a mother of two children on the motorway within the Gujjarpura police’s jurisdiction in September 2020.

The woman was driving to Gujranwala in her car when she was forced to stop at the Gujjarpura section of the motorway after running out of fuel.

According to reports, she immediately called a relative and sent him her location, who asked her to also dial the Motorway Police helpline—130—from which she reportedly received no response.

Meanwhile, two robbers approached the car, broke the window, and took the woman and her children to nearby bushes where they raped the mother repeatedly in front of the children. They also snatched her purse, which contained Rs100,000 in cash, one bracelet, car registration papers, and three Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards.

  • Brother, father caught killing woman on video, sentenced to death

Brother, father caught killing woman on video, sentenced to death

A sessions court in Toba Tek Singh has on Monday sentenced the brother and father of a young woman to death for her murder after the gruesome crime was caught on video.

Maria Bibi was strangled to death by her brother Faisal and her father Abdul Sattar on March 17, 2024 and hastily buried the next day.  The police exhumed her body on March 28 after a video, shot by Maria’s other brother, showed her being strangled to death, went viral on social media sites, prompting severe outrage.

Faisal, who can be seen in the three-minute long video strangling a woman lying on a bed, confessed to the crime three days after being arrested. His father can be seen in the video encouraging him and offering him water after the deed was done.

An FIR registered under Sections 34 (common intention), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen offender) and 302 (murder) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) had been amended and Section 311 (honour killing) had also been inducted in it.

Maria’s other brother Shahbaz recorded the video while pretending to talk to his other sister. He too was arrested by the police along with his wife Sumaira.

Additional Sessions Judge Abdul Hafeez Bhutta wrote in his order: “I convict accused Muhammad Faisal under Section 302(b) PPC and sentenced him to death as tazir for committing the murder of Maria Bibi.

“I also convict accused Abdul Sattar under Section 302(b) PPC read with 34 PPC and sentenced him to death as tazir for his shared common intention in the murder of Maria Bibi. They be hanged by their necks till they are dead.”

The judge singled out the father’s act of giving water to his son after he killed Maria Bibi for stinging criticism. He also said that although Abdul Sattar didn’t kill Maria with his own hands, he did not try to stop the murder and prevented Shahbaz and his wife from stopping Faisal.

Shahbaz and Sumaira have been acquitted by the court.

  • Pet dog helps police in solving owner’s murder

Pet dog helps police in solving owner’s murder

A pet dog proved his exceptional loyalty by unearthing its owner Umer Hayat’s body after he had been killed and burned in a garbage dump, a leading English daily has reported.

Residents of a village in Chichawatni observed a pet dog digging away in a burnt garbage dump on February 18. Some time later, the dog unearthed human feet from the rubbish and alerted villagers and a landlord named Nadeem Abbas Shah, who had employed Umer to work at his farm.

Police investigations revealed that Umer’s wife Shamim and her brother Fida Hussain murdered Umer between the nights of February 13 and 14, disfigured his face so that he could not be recognised and then burning his body in a garbage dump, setting it on fire to conceal the killing.

Both the siblings were arrested on Monday.

The police were alerted on February 18 about the presence of human remains by Bilal Nawaz, a resident of the village, who had seen the dog digging up the garbage. Police arrived at the scene and discovered a decomposed and unidentifiable body in the rubbish heap.

Despite an autopsy, the body remained unidentified till police received a tip from the villagers who said Umer Hayat worked at Nadeem Abbas’ farm. There, the police was told that Umer had worked at the farm along with his wife Shamim and four children since two years. He was originally a resident of Multan and was often referred to as Multani.

Nadeem Abbas told the police that Umer had left the job a few days before the body was discovered and shifted back to Khanewal, his wife’s hometown.

Umer’s mother was contacted by the police who admitted that her son was missing but did not identify the feet as belonging to her son. A few days after police questioned them on not reporting Umer’s absence and taking DNA samples, the mother identified the feet.

Further investigations revealed that while Shamim said she left the farm with her husband, she arrived in her village only with her children and her brother Fida Hussain.

Police unearthed evidence that both Shamim and Umer had been having affairs. Shamim finally confessed to the police that Umer had confronted her on the affair and been violent with her. She had then recruited her brother Fida Hussain to kill Umer, disfiguring his face with bricks, and burning his body in the garbage.

Both the brother and sister now await trial.
