Indian man posts selfie with wife’s lifeless body after killing her

A shocking incident in Tamil Nadu, India, made headlines after a man killed his wife and posted a selfie with her body on his WhatsApp status.

According to Indian media reports, the victim, Sri Priya, worked at a private firm and had been living away from her husband after differences rose between them. Her husband, Balamohan, visited her at the hostel where she was staying and hid a sharp weapon in his clothes.

Police said the couple argued soon after meeting each other. During the confrontation, Balamohan pulled out the hidden weapon and brutally attacked Priya, killing her on the spot.

What followed stunned everyone. Her husband took a selfie with her body and uploaded it on his WhatsApp status. He also claimed that she had “betrayed” him.

Chaos spread through the hostel as residents learned about the murder. However, instead of running away, Balamohan stayed at the scene and waited for police to arrive.

Officers reached the hostel, arrested him and recovered the murder weapon.

Initial investigation suggests that the suspect believed his wife was involved with another man, which fueled his actions.

Cybercrime agency arrests Peshawar hospital staffer for ‘secretly recording, extorting’ women

Authorities in Peshawar have taken into custody a government-run hospital’s CCTV operator for his alleged involvement in secretly filming women and leveraging those recordings for blackmail.

According to reports, the arrest came after an investigation that was initiated over a woman’s report to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).

She told the investigators that a man named Imran had reached out to her, claiming he wanted to marry her. He later started blackmailing her with private photographs and videos, demanding Rs2 million.

The victim reported to the authorities that the suspect had already sent a video to her brother-in-law and was also pressuring her father.

With the NCCIA launching a probe, it analysed the material provided by the complainant and organised an operation to apprehend Imran. A meeting between the victim and the suspect was arranged at Tatara Park in the provincial capital where investigators nabbed him.

A mobile phone in his possession revealed WhatsApp chats, numerous recordings and videos of women that seemed to have been recorded without consent.

During interrogation, Imran revealed that he was employed as a CCTV operator at PIC Peshawar, and most videos, which appeared to be from the hospital’s internal surveillance feeds, were recorded at the women’s ward.

After the recovery of evidence, the NCCIA compiled the information and submitted a report to local law enforcement.

A case was formally registered under cybercrime and extortion laws.

Man held for assault, murder of Clifton woman

Police on Saturday said they have arrested a man for his alleged involvement in the murder of a woman whose body was discovered earlier this week in Clifton, Karachi.

On November 25, the remains of a woman named Shehnaz Arshad Gill were discovered near Urban Forest in Clifton, showing clear evidence of torture. An autopsy subsequently indicated that she had been sexually assaulted prior to her murder. South DIG Syed Asad Raza informed a private news channel that the detained suspect lived in Akhtar Colony and was acquainted with the victim.

During the interrogation, the man informed the detectives that he and woman, who he said was a friend of his, had met near Clifton on November 22. A disagreement regarding money resulted in a physical altercation, during which the victim snatched his phone. Enraged, he repeatedly hit her head and face with a rock, killing her. He subsequently ran off, taking her phone along with some cash from her purse.

The DIG said the suspect had confessed to the crime. He added that to conceal the victim’s identity, the suspect smashed her face with a heavy stone and burned her fingers with a cigarette lighter.

Karachi man arrested for hacking women’s social media, reveals shocking details

A man arrested for hacking women’s mobile phones and social media accounts has revealed startling details about his activities in Karachi, news media have reported.

According to reports, the suspect, identified as Sameer aka PK, told investigators that he bought malicious links from a Lahore resident for Rs 5,000 and used them to hack accounts across multiple social media platforms.

He admitted that after accessing the accounts, he collected personal information and lured victims to meet him. Sameer said he has studied till only the seventy grade and is unemployed. He said he learned these hacking techniques through online groups.

DIG South confirmed that a special Karachi-based investigation team has been formed to probe Sameer’s confessions.

The team will examine laptops and mobile phones recovered from him. Federal intelligence agencies and the Counter-Terrorism Department are assisting in the investigation.

Sameer was initially arrested by District South police near Eidgah, Karachi, and his disclosures are helping authorities uncover the methods used by cybercriminals to target women.

The revelations provide Karachi police with critical insights into online predatory networks, allowing them to prevent further attacks.

The case follows another cybercrime crackdown in December 2024, when the Federal Investigation Agency dismantled a blackmailing ring involved in creating and distributing inappropriate videos of women to extort money.

The key suspect, identified as Zainul Abideen Shah, was arrested from a private hotel in Karachi. Investigations revealed the group included self-proclaimed journalists and operators of fake newspapers who used unethical content to blackmail individuals.

  • Multan court sentences Sania Zehra’s husband to death for murdering her

Multan court sentences Sania Zehra’s husband to death for murdering her

An additional district and sessions judge in Multan has handed a death sentence to the husband of a 20-year-old pregnant woman who was found dead last year, ruling that the case was murder disguised as suicide.

On July 9, 2024, Sania Zehra, a mother of two, was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan in her room. Syed Asad Abbas, her father, denied the suicide claim, claiming that his daughter’s in-laws murdered her.

Police at the New Multan station filed a case under Sections 148 (rioting with a dangerous weapon), 149 (unlawful assembly), and 302 (intentional murder) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) in response to his allegation.

Additional Sessions Judge Mohsin Ali Khan found the husband, Syed Muhammad Ali Raza, “duly convicted of the Qatal-i-Amd of Sania Zehra” in a one-page order dated November 18.

According to Section 302(b) of the PPC, which stipulates that anyone found guilty of Qatal-i-Amd faces either death or life in jail, he was given the death penalty as Ta’zir.

“Syed Muhammad Ali Raza convict shall be hanged by neck till his death is pronounced.”

The court also directed him to pay Rs500,000 as compensation to Zehra’s family under Section 554-A of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 adding that “if he defaults, he will undergo six months’ imprisonment.”

Two separate court orders  also found Raza’s brother, Syed Haider Raza, and his mother, Syeda Azra Parveen, guilty of Zehra’s murder.

The court sentenced both to life imprisonment, with each ordered to pay Rs500,000 to the victim’s family.

The FIR, narrating the father’s account, states that he was called by a police official and asked to rush to his daughter’s home. When the family arrived, they found Zehra hanging from a ceiling fan.

According to the complaint, when a forensic expert attempted to untie the noose, it opened unusually easily, raising suspicion. A doctor present at the scene told the family that the victim had died around 6pm the same evening.

The police registered a case under sections 302, 148, and 149 of the PPC against deceased’s husband Ali Raza, his brother Haider, father Jeevan Shah, mother Azra Bibi, sister Kanwal Bibi, and sister-in-law Syeda Dua on the complaint of the deceased’s father.

  • TikToker in Multan arrested for uploading objectionable videos

TikToker in Multan arrested for uploading objectionable videos

National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in Multan has arrested a TikToker Usman Shabbir for allegedly uploading objectionable videos of a man on social media.

According to reports, the content creator allegedly uploaded intimate or explicit footage without the subject’s consent.

The NCCIA produced Usman in a Multan court, which granted a three‑day physical remand so investigators can recover more videos, examine his phone, and perform forensic checks.

This case follows earlier incidents across Pakistan involving social media creators accused of producing “immoral” or indecent content.

In September 2025, Swabi police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa arrested a TikToker identified as Abdul Mughiz.

According to officials, Mughiz was creating videos while dressed as a woman and uploading them to TikTok, sparking “severe resentment and anxiety” in the local community.

The FIR filed in his case fell under Section 294 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which penalizes “obscene acts” in public.

After his arrest, Mughiz reportedly confessed and pledged to “refrain from such immoral activities” going forward.

But that is not all. In February 2025, Punjab Police arrested another TikToker, Haider Ali, in Multan after he filmed an “inappropriate” video outside the Government Graduate College for Women in Burewala.

In the video, Haider used disrespectful language toward female students and adopted a troubling attitude. After the footage went viral, a photo of him handcuffed and standing beside two female police officers also made rounds online.

According to reports, Haider Ali admitted to wrongdoing during questioning and expressed remorse. “All female students of degree college are my sisters,” he said, pledging not to repeat such behavior.

In a separate incident, police in Mansehra also arrested two TikTokers for harassing women online, including one who posted videos featuring weapons and ammunition.

This case further highlights the variety of misuse that authorities are now targeting.

These developments underscore a broader crackdown by Pakistani law enforcement on social media users who cross legal and moral lines.

Authorities are signaling that content which invades privacy, disrespects cultural norms, or threatens social order will not be tolerated, even on social media platforms.
