Director Musaddiq Malek, who is currently directing Hania Aamir in the hit drama Meri Zindagi Hai Tu, recently defended the actress against those who undervalue her talent.
In a recent interview about the drama’s cast, Malek said, “We don’t give enough credit to Hania Aamir for her acting skills and brain simply because she is pertty. I am speaking generally but being pretty comes with side effects, beauty with brain is a rare combination.”
Fans quickly responded to his comments on social media with overwhelming support for the actress.
“Haniaaaa,” one fan wrote enthusiastically, while another commented that Hania is a versatile actress who is amazing. “Finally someone said it,” added a third fan, with others simply praising her as an amazing actress and agreeing with Malik’s observation.
Hania Aamir currently stars alongside Bilal Abbas Khan in Meri Zindagi Hai Tu on ARY Digital, which premiered in late 2025 and has already crossed 600 million views on YouTube. Written by Radain Shah, the drama is on track to become 2026’s first Pakistani show to hit one billion views.

Indian actors Tara Sutaria and Veer Pahariya have reportedly ended their relationship, Indian media reports have claimed.
Several Indian media outlets state that the couple quietly broke up, although the exact reason behind the split remains unclear. The timing of the reports has drawn attention, as they surfaced just days after a viral incident at AP Dhillon’s Mumbai concert.
During the event, Tara Sutaria joined AP Dhillon on stage for a performance. A video from the concert later went viral on social media, showing the singer hugging Tara and kissing her on the cheek, sparking widespread discussion online.
The matter gained further attention when another clip emerged on social media showing Veer Pahariya in the audience during the same concert. Social media users highlighted his surprised and visibly uncomfortable reaction while watching the moment on stage.
Later, social media influencer Orry shared an unedited video in which Veer Pahariya appeared cheering for Tara Sutaria and AP Dhillon.
Veer also reposted the clip on his Instagram story, writing that the truth would eventually come out and accusing the media of not showing the full picture.
Online reactions remained divided. While some users expressed sympathy for Veer, others defended Tara, saying the kiss seemed unexpected and that she appeared hesitant.
Soon after the videos circulated online, speculation about a breakup between Tara Sutaria and Veer Pahariya began trending on social media. Many fans linked the concert incident to the reported separation.
Neither Tara nor Veer has issued an official statement. However, Indian media reports have quoted sources close to the couple as confirming that they have gone their separate ways.
YouTuber Rajab Butt has landed in a fresh controversy after posting messages purportedly sent by his brother-in-law Sheikh Aon to someone on Instagram.
Rajab said he never wanted to make the messages public but felt forced to act after months of criticism directed at his family.
“I’ve many more such recordings and ss [screenshots].. even more intense. So I am breaking the silence once and for all! I’ve never wanted to bring this on social media like this but now I am done!” Rajab wrote in his Instagram story.
He accused Aon of using offensive language, leaking personal details to podcast hosts and manipulating people by playing the sympathy card.
“My mother, my sister, my whole family even a 9 month old kid has been accused, criticised for months just because they stood by me and never left me alone like others just because they supported the truth and kept the silence. But now it’s enough! You need to stop!” he stated.
Rajab stressed that his wife and child should not be used for sympathy narratives.
“My wife my son is not your sympathy game!” he wrote.
He also addressed questions about his son Kivaan’s absence from vlogs, explaining the decision came from the child’s mother.
“Kivaan’s mother herself forbid his grandmother strictly to not even take Kivaan’s name in vlogs. This is why we never used Kivan’s name. But still they accepted the unnecessary hate for this matter as well for whom? For me! For my relation! For my marriage! For my son!” Rajab clarified.
The YouTuber warned critics discussing him and his wife Eman to fear Allah, claiming he possesses recordings and screenshots to support his allegations.
“People only discussing Eman and Rajab, who provides them the material? I’ve all the recording all the ss. Fear Allah,” he stated.
Rajab questioned Aon’s ethics after the latter allegedly used offensive terms for him and his family.
“Calling your own sister’s husband, his family member, his friends a ‘balatkari’ [rapists]! Does that show your ethics?” he wrote.
Expressing uncertainty about his marriage, Rajab wrote: “I don’t know if this marriage would work or not.. if it does, thats only by the will of Allah [sic]!”
He concluded by emphasising his son remains the top priority. “Kivan is our first priority and will always be! He is our son! End of discussion!”
Last year, when people asked why Eman did not appear in his vlogs, Rajab had said in a podcast that she felt depressed and did not consent to appear on screen.
However, Eman’s brother Sheikh Aon later said in a video that Eman is well educated and not the kind of woman who feels depressed on social media. He added that if someone has to talk on behalf of Eman, it will be him or his mother, and whoever is talking on her behalf in podcasts should stop.
Following this, Rajab had faced multiple cases in Pakistan and fled to the UK, where he remained over two months away from his wife and family.
Multiple legal cases currently hang over the YouTuber. Among them is one filed by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in September, accusing him of promoting illegal gambling apps including Binomo, 1xBet, Bet365 and B9 Game.
Actress Saba Qamar has shared a strong message about women’s dignity and respect following the conclusion of drama serial ‘Case No. 9’ and a public apology from journalist Naeem Hanif over baseless allegations.
Qamar shared a clip from the final episode of ‘Case No. 9’ on Instagram, featuring a powerful monologue encouraging women to speak up for their rights and justice. The post included a detailed message addressing recent events and broader societal issues.
“I have won both cases Case No. 9 and Case No. 0 (Baseless),” Qamar wrote in her Instagram post.
The actress emphasised her intention to share a meaningful perspective rather than criticize anyone.
“I am not here to criticise or accuse anyone. I simply wish to share a thought that matters deeply to me,” she stated.
“As a society, we must learn to be kinder and more responsible. Women should be supported in their success, not questioned, disrespected, or brought down by false stories and unverified claims. True progress lies in lifting each other up, not in diminishing one another.”
Qamar referenced the false allegations made against her, acknowledging the apology that followed while raising important questions about accountability.
“There was a time when false statements were made about me, followed later by an apology. While apologies are important, I believe we must ask ourselves: should a woman’s dignity ever be compromised in the first place, without facts or verification? This awareness is essential,” she wrote.
The actress concluded her message with a firm stance on women’s respect and the importance of standing by truth.
“I say this with grace and sincerity: respect for women is non-negotiable. I stood by the truth, and that is why justice prevailed. May we all choose truth, empathy, and fairness. This message comes from a place of positivity, integrity, and authenticity,” Qamar stated.
In November, journalist Naeem Hanif made an unverified claim about Qamar during a podcast appearance, falsely alleging the actress was in a live-in relationship in Lahore.
Hanif later issued a public apology, admitting his statement was unverified and contrary to facts.
It’s very hard to make a drama about social issues, especially a courtroom drama, and get it to become a smash, viral hit.
Case No.9 became just that, not only because of the storyline but also because of the supreme acting by everyone in the drama. A huge shoutout to Saba Qamar, Faysal Quraishi and Gohar Rasheed who embodied their characters so well, it was like watching the case in real life. Chilling performances with emotional return.
The last few episodes of the drama focused more on a media trial rather than the court. And with a lot of cases, that is what happens. Real-life cases of Zainab, the little girl who was raped and murdered, Noor Mukkadam and others first played out on the media, generated pressure and then came to their favourable ends. One question is that would Noor Mukkadam’s killer still be in jail had it not been for constant media pressure? It’s sad that the question arises but unfortunately it does.
We have heard actual police officials tell people in meetings that Case No. 9 is a drama that everyone should watch because of how the law and police proceedings are covered in the drama. It’s fact and anchor Shahzeb Khanzada shows it as much in the finale of the drama.
But the blurring of real life and a drama was a bit too pronounced at the end of Case No. 9. Perhaps, it might have been better that a ‘drama anchor’ had done the media trial because the shift between the real show and the one in the drama was a bit disconcerting. The ending as well, it might have been better if an actor from the drama (read Saba Qamar) had read off the stats on rape cases in Pakistan. The uneasy feeling lingered near the end of the drama but then perhaps that’s what the writer was going for. To make you feel uneasy that real life and drama, in this particular case, are very comparable.
Whether you agree with the drama or not, it is true that media trials, in a lot of cases trump actual courtroom proceedings. We have seen it many times and we will continue seeing it, and it’s a global phenomenon, perhaps more pronounced in Pakistan.
Case No.9 became a drama that will remain in the list of the best social issue dramas in Pakistan and hopefully, we sincerely hope, that the positive effect it had and presented lasts for a very long time. Will a rape victim watch it and feel hopeful and fight for justice? We hope so. Will society watch it and think that should a woman be judged if she comes out and says a crime has been committed against her? We hope not. Would this play a big role in women empowerment? It better.
Lawyers involved in a dispute over an alleged assault on YouTuber Rajab Butt at the Karachi City Courts have agreed to withdraw cases and complaints filed against each other, bringing an end to weeks of internal disagreement within the legal community.
The development followed a meeting held on Thursday at the Karachi Bar Association (KBA), where lawyers from both sides held discussions and reached an understanding to resolve the matter. According to participants, the decision was made without any conditions imposed on either party.
The issue dates back to December 29, 2025, when Butt was allegedly assaulted on the City Courts premises while appearing for the hearing of his bail plea in a case registered against him for hurting religious sentiments. The incident led to the registration of multiple cases and triggered reactions.
Following the assault, Butt’s counsel Mian Ali Ashfaq lodged a case against Advocate Riaz Ali Solangi, Advocate Abdul Fatah and 15 to 20 other lawyers. The case was registered under Sections 147 (punishment for rioting), 148 (rioting, armed with a deadly weapon), 382 (theft after preparation made for causing death, hurt or restraint), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 337-A (punishment for shajjah) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Separately, on the request of the KBA, the Punjab Bar Council (PBC) initiated action against Mian Ashfaq. On January 1, the PBC suspended his licence to practise and referred the matter to its disciplinary committee. The suspension was later withdrawn, restoring Ashfaq’s licence.
On Thursday, Mian Ashfaq visited the KBA office on the association’s request and addressed a press conference after holding talks with the other side. He was accompanied by KBA President Aamir Nawaz Warraich, General Secretary Rehman Korai, senior counsel Rehan Aziz, Advocate Solangi and Advocate Fatah.
Speaking to the media, Ashfaq said that after detailed discussions on issues that arose following the incident, both parties had agreed to withdraw the cases and applications filed before different forums. He said the understanding was reached without any conditions, but did not specify whether the case against Rajab Butt for allegedly hurting religious sentiments would also be withdrawn.
Ashfaq also acknowledged the role of the Karachi Bar Association in facilitating the talks and providing a platform for dialogue between the parties.
Addressing the media, KBA President Aamir Nawaz Warraich said the incident had affected the standing of the legal community. He said lawyers should limit their role to representing clients in cases related to religious matters and should not become complainants themselves.
Warraich said that lawyers must not be involved in acts of violence and added that every litigant appearing before the courts was entitled to respectful treatment.
Rajab Butt is expected to appear before a Karachi court on the issue of allegedly offending religious emotions on January 13. The purpose of this appearance is for confirmation or denial of his interim release.
Pakistani actor Haris Waheed has shared a heartwarming video from his recent Umrah journey with his father.
At the start of the clip, Haris can be seen pushing his father in a wheelchair while they move through the holy sites in Makkah. Moments later, the video shows his father standing on his feet and walking himself while performing Umrah.
Haris wrote in the Instagram caption, “My ABBA went on wheelchair, and came back walking.”
The video quickly received plenty of love and prayers from social media users.

Many other users filled the comment section with “MashaAllah” and prayers.

Journalist Naeem Hanif has publicly apologised to actor Saba Qamar after she issued a legal notice against him for making defamatory comments during a podcast appearance in November.
On Tuesday, Hanif appeared on a YouTube podcast where he issued the apology.
Hanif admitted that a video about Qamar uploaded on his channel contained false claims. “I verified that news later, and it wasn’t correct, and neither was there any truth in it. It was contrary to the truth, which hurt her sentiments and tarnished her character. We are sorry for this and the hurt it caused,” he said.
Qamar responded by sharing the apology to her Instagram story with the caption “Speechless”.
The controversy began on November 1 when Hanif appeared on a news podcast and discussed Qamar’s statements about preferring to live in Lahore over Karachi.
Naeem Hanif claimed that Saba Qamar lived in a house in Lahore in 2003 and 2004 that allegedly belonged to a man she had a close relationship with.
He further alleged that Saba once visited the office of a private news organization to file a harassment complaint against the same man, where he claimed to have met her for the first time.
Qamar quickly took action and issued a legal notice to the journalist, posting screenshots of the notice in a series of Instagram stories alongside a message for her followers.
The notice claimed Hanif had “made and disseminated defamatory, sexist and derogatory statements concerning [Qamar’s] personal and moral character”. It accused him of peddling the “regressive notion that a woman’s achievements are not earned through merit or professionalism but through association with men”.
The notice also criticised Hanif’s tone, stating his statements “fell short of all journalistic standards” and accusing him of causing severe mental agony and loss of reputation.
The legal notice demanded Hanif take down the sexist and defamatory content within seven days, publicly apologise for his claims, refrain from making any further statements on Qamar’s personal and professional life, and pay the actor Rs100 million in damages.
The November 1 podcast video has since been removed from the channel.
Kafeel is probably the underdog drama that will rise to win this year. With powerful, raw performances by Sanam Saeed, Kashif Mehmood and Munazza Arif, episode 8 had us holding our hearts for the millions of women who suffered in unhappy marriages because of the divorce taboo, in the past and even now.
Jami (Emmad Irfani) is in love with someone else, broke, lazy and happy to mooch off his in-laws. Meanwhile, Zeba (Sanam Saeed) keeps mum about her life and perfect marriage until her mother Yasmin (Munazza Arif) sees Jami with her other lover. Confrontation ensues, and blame is set on the parents for marrying off Zeba too early just because they found a number written by a boy on a handkerchief and assumed the worst.
That scene, with the mother and daughter and father watching on without them knowing hits hard because it has happened to someone we know – or us. The chance, fleeting thought of a daughter dating someone else, the badnaami, the awful character assassination and worse, illicit affairs – it’s better off to push your child into the unknown of naseeb and let God handle it for you. Kafeel, so beautifully exposes this awful mindset that we have, showing us how hollow and frankly, stupid it is to place your trust in destiny that you don’t know rather than talking it out and choosing a destiny that you would know.
It’s clear that the drama won’t end in just a divorce, despite Zeba’s father (Kashif Mahmood) delivering a convincing performance that no daughter should suffer because of what people will say, despite his own mother saying that for seven generations there has been no divorce in the family.
That scene deserves a special mention because it pitted old and new against each other, a father emotionally connected to his silent daughter, knowing that the pushback he would get existed. He comes to his mother, distraught, confused, but leaves knowing that he’s making the right decision by freeing the pain that his daughter is in. You think that Zeba might get that divorce and her life will go on but it’s evident that that’s not what’s going to happen after Zeba visits her friend.
As it is often quoted (mostly wrongly) destiny takes control and the guy Zeba likes is engaged. You have a constant reminder, and echo telling you that destiny is like a closed fist – you don’t know what you will get, until it opens its hand. But that’s not entirely true. Could destiny have changed if Zeba’s parents had sat her down and asked her about the guy who wrote the number on the handkerchief, discovered that he’s a good guy and gotten her hitched to the person she likes? Likely, yes. Unfortunately, we ascribe marriage to destiny which isn’t true – if it was, we would not need to do any checks on who to marry and how. And with Zeba blaming her parents fully for marrying her off so suddenly because of a phone number is also not entirely correct. She wanted to marry and she thought she was marrying the guy of her dreams, didn’t tell her parents about him, didn’t wonder or even ask if it was the same guy. She did the same thing. Left it to fate. And leaving things to fate doesn’t always work in your favour.
The drama takes an interesting turn now to see how Zeba takes her destiny in her own hands and whether she does or not.
