Imran Abbas penned an emotional note on his father’s demise, who passed away on Sunday, saying this was the darkest time in his life.
“Perhaps this is the darkest time of my life…I lost my father, my strength, my backbone. I can’t stand up straight at the moment. Thanks for your messages and posts but I won’t be able to reply to them for a while,” Imran wrote on Instagram.
“It’s like breathing bricks and with huge lump in my chest with lots of guilt of not giving him time, saying what I shouldn’t have said and not saying what I should have.”
He continued, “Looking around for the echoes of his voice which I won’t ever listen again, the touch I’ll never feel again, his face which became a thing of past.”
“Please value your parents because there is no one in this whole universe like them,” the actor asserted, “Give them love and time, that’s all they want. Otherwise we are just left with regrets and remorse.”
Meanwhile, fans and collegues, including Meera and Reema, expressed their condolences and sent prayers for the deceased.
After the proposal of the year, Iqra Aziz and Yasir Hussain are all set to have the wedding of the year.
According to the very fun and quirky wedding card shared by the couple on their respective social media handles, the two will be tying the knot on December 28 in an afternoon wedding. The official wedding hashtag is #IqYasirDaViyah.
Though we have no information about who is going to be on the guest list, but we’re assuming there are going to be A LOT of people from the industry.
Iqra and Yasir have been very public about their affection for one another and have almost always been spotted together. The two will also be appearing in two projects together: drama serial Jhooti and a feature film expected to release on Eid-ul-Fitr 2020.
As protests ravage India, more than 100 students have been injured after baton-wielding police charged at them and fired tear gas at two federally-run universities where students were holding anti-citizenship law protests.
According to reports, students in New Delhi’s Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) and Uttar Pradesh state’s Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) had been protesting since the new law was passed last week.
The contentious law grants citizenship to religious minorities – Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains and Christians – from neighbouring Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
While critics say it is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Hindu nationalist agenda to marginalise the 200-million strong Islamic minority, Modi denies this, saying that the new law “does not affect any citizen of India of any religion”, while accusing “vested interest groups” of stoking the “deeply distressing” unrest.
As the protests get bloodier, people are asking Bollywood celebrities especially Shah Rukh Khan who is an alumnus of Jamia Millia Delhi, to speak up on the matter and express their solidarity.
While A-lister celebrities including the Khans, Kapoors and Priyanka Chopra have remained silent on the matter, other celebs including Sidharth Malhotra, Ayushmann Khurana, Dia Mirza and Vicky Kaushal have condemned this violence.
My heart goes out to all the students back home in Delhi. In a democracy like ours, its sad to see violence against citizens for voicing their opinion through peaceful protests. There should be no place for violence of any form & intent in our country. I strongly condemn this act
What is happening is not okay. The way it’s happening is not okay. People have every right to peacefully voice their opinion. This violence and disruption is both saddening and concerning as a fellow citizen. In no circumstance, must our faith in democracy be shaken. 🇮🇳
This is unreal. We are a secular democracy. This violence that the police have shown in dealing with the students is terrible. Citizens have the right to peacefully protest. @narendramodi@AmitShah Or that is not an option anymore ??
What is happening in our country should make us all hang our heads in shame. Shame. Now is the time to come together and act as one nation, one people, one country. NOW.
There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest. With the students and their democratic rights to protest ! I condemn violence against protesting students!!!!!
Mehwish Hayat has hinted that she might be running for Prime Minister in 2028.
The actor who was recently voted the second sexiest woman in Pakistan took to Twitter to reject the title adding that “these sort of lists should now be confined to history.”
Mehwish asserted that people should be judged on “talent, on merit, on intellect, on wit…but not on physical attributes.”
I’ve been receiving a lot of congratulatory messages via texts & social media. I should be flattered to be on the list of sexiest Asians & to be honest ten years ago when I was the 1st Pakistani to make it onto the list I was. "Sexy” is defined as “sexually attractive or … 1/2 https://t.co/CKYX46U51C
… alluring". How can potential "shagability" – and that is what it is- be a criteria for comparison?! Judge people on talent, on merit, on intellect, on wit.. but not on physical attributes . Times have changed and these sort of lists should now be confined to history! 🙏 2/2
Mehwish’s response was received with a lot of positivity by social media users. One user commented that this was “of the sexiest tweets I’ve read” adding that Mehwish for PMship in 2023.
To this Mehwish replied, “Not 2023 but 2028,” adding a LOL (Laugh out Loud).
Not like we didn’t see this coming, but award-winning filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Bushan Kumar have announced a film on the Balakot ‘airstrike’.
According to details, the film will be written and directed by Abhishek Kapoor. The cast has not yet been announced.
DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor had a few thoughts on the matter which he voiced on Twitter.
With due respect to WC Abhinandan as a soldier, yes the dream could only be fulfilled through Bollywood. Denial of sham strike on 26 Feb and wreckage of 2 IAF jets shot by PAF on 27 Feb will haunt you despite that.
Previously, Vivek Oberoi had also announced a film on IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman.
“As a proud Indian, a patriot, and a member of the film fraternity, it’s my duty to highlight what our Armed Forces are truly capable of. In the form of a trilingual, this film is a powerful tool to underline the achievements of brave officers like Wing Commander Abhinandan, who went behind the enemy lines and did what makes every Indian proud of them,” Vivek had said while announcing the film, which is expected to release in 2020. It will be shot in the backdrop of Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi and Agra.
BALAKOT INCIDENT
Following the Pulwama incident in which 44 Indian paramilitary soldiers lost their lives, two Indian aircraft entered Pakistani air space on February 27, 2019 for the second time in two days, engaged with Pakistan Air Force (PAF), and as a result, were shot down.
The wreckage of one of the planes landed in Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK), and the wreckage of the other plane landed in the Indian-occupied Kasmir (IoK), Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) had confirmed at the time.
Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, who was held captive following the aerial dogfight, was handed over to India on March 1 in a peace gesture after PM Imran had announced to release him in an attempt to “de-escalate tensions” between the two countries.
Well, obviously, with the entry of Shahwar’s (Adnan Siddiqui) wife, Maham (Savera Nadeem) Shahwar and Mehwish (Ayeza Khan) were not going to get married. Maham enters the scene, sends the moulvi sahib packing, Shahwar to jail and kicks Mehwish out of the house. Her role is complete. She has taken back her money, dismissed her dirtbag husband and gotten rid of the woman he was having an affair with.
Maham takes control
All in one episode.
Oh, and Danish (Humayun Saeed) tells Hania (Hira Mani) that his son Roomi, wants him to marry her. So that’s out in the open now too.
Hania finds out that Roomi wants her to marry his father
Mehwish after getting thrown out of Maham’s house, goes back to her old home, realizing what she has lost. She wanders around, homeless and unsure about what to do. She goes to see her son at school, who meets her nicely, but tells her that he can’t tell his friends she’s his mother.
She meets her son in school who tells her that he doesn’t want her coming around. He’ll talk to her on the phone
She goes to meet Shahwar in jail who tells her to leave, because Maham would have a fit if she found out. All those promises, gone. He says to her that they had a good time when they were together. Mehwish can’t believe it. Her life as she knows it, is over.
Shahwar, yelling for the guards to take away this woman he doesn’t know
Adnan Siddiqui does a brilliant job in this episode of being the totally disengaged, uninterested, in-it-for-the-good-times guy we all knew he was. He looks through Mehwish like she is nothing – at one point screaming for the police to take her away. He says he doesn’t know who she is – and for a minute you might think, has he gone mad? No, he is just making sure he gets out of jail and Mehwish, means absolutely nothing to him anymore.
Mehwish ends up in a park, crying on a bench. In a very strange scene, a little girl tells her mother that look, that lady (Mehwish) is crying just like you. Who this lady is and why she’s crying, no one knows.
Girl watches Mehwish cry in the park
The only plausible reason to keep this scene in the episode is to show that Mehwish, the once rich and almost married beauty is now worse off than someone sitting in a bench on a park, crying. So realistic is the scene, that one realizes that Mehwish, who always had perfectly manicured nails in the series, now has broken, dirty ones. The attention to detail in this drama is intensely perfect.
Danish goes on to partner with his friend in his stock market firm and obviously is going to end up making a lot of money, that also because he bought shares in Shahwar’s company (oh the irony).
Mehwish is going to want Danish back. The teaser for episode 19 proves as much. And in a deep twist, the roles of Shahwar and Maham come to an end. Now comes the face off between Mehwish and Hania for Danish.
Danish’s face in the teaser when he realizes that Mehwish has called him, crying
Hania will most likely not back down, and Mehwish will want the love that she lost. But who will Danish choose? The women he loved with all his heart, who broke it but is still the mother of his child? Or the girl who would most likely never do him wrong, will cherish him, but is in fact, terribly boring? In this delicious episode the series takes a twist. And it will now all be about who is team Mehwish and who is team Hania.
Meray Paas Tum Ho is the biggest drama on air these days. Each episode receives millions of views within hours of being uploaded on Youtube and sparks debate on almost all social media channels.
The latest episode saw Mehwish and Shehwar finally about the tie the knot when Shehwar’s first wife, Maham, played by Savera Nadeem slaps a dramatic entry.
While the slap itself created waves, turns out Ayeza’s ivory and hot pink outfit, by designer Zainab Chottani also was a big hit.
According to Samaa News, the designer has been receiving tonnes of queries about the dress, which has already become a bestseller.
“I have received an influx of queries about the bridal dress,” the designer said, adding, “Since we are overbooked till April 2020, people are pre-booking the same dress for their weddings in June and July.”
Speaking about how the outfit ended up in the scene, Zainab shared: “They wanted to shoot the pre-wedding sequel in our studio when Mehwish goes for wedding shopping. Later they borrowed the dress for the scene.”
There was a even a bit of argument over the price of the dress – while the designers insisted on quoting Rs 3 lakhs, Chottani refused, saying it was too low a price for the Rs 795,000 (7 lakhs 95 thousand). The two then agreed to mention Rs 6 and a half lakhs.
Meray Paas Tum Ho has been directed by Nadeem Baig and written by Khalil ur Rahman Qamar. The drama also starrers Humayun Saeed, Adnan Siddiqui and Hira Mani.
Tennis champion Sania Mirza’s sister Anam Mirza tied the knot with former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin’s son Asaduddin in Hyderabad.
Anam took to social media to make the announcement. The two looked resplendent in their wedding finery on their big day.
Meanwhile, Sania Mirza looked lovely in a teal outfit. Husband Shoaib Malik was missing from the wedding celebrations – the former captain of the Pakistan Cricket Team is currently in Dhaka for the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Following the nikkah, the couple also hosted a reception the next day.
Prior to the nikkah there was a sangeet.

Anam and Asad began dating earlier this year after Anam’s divorce in 2018.
