  • Noor Zafar hits back at Reham Khan for dragging Sara Khan’s daughter into debate

Noor Zafar hits back at Reham Khan for dragging Sara Khan’s daughter into debate

Actress Noor Zafar Khan has slammed Reham Khan’s recent criticism of her sister Sara Khan, calling it “immoral” to involve an innocent child in the debate.

Reham Khan recently appeared in a show where she commented on Sara’s views about feminism, saying she knows Sara only because of her husband Falak Shabbir.

During the interview, Reham said, “Sara Khan is also the mother of a daughter and tomorrow her daughter will also be married off to another house, so what will be Sara’s reaction if something goes wrong with her? Sara should understand that she is working in showbiz only because of feminism and is famous because of that.”

Noor then angrily took to Instagram stories to condemn Reham’s remarks. “You yourself talk about feminism but you also include her child to criticize the mother, which is sad,” Noor wrote.

She added, “Sara only gave her opinion, she didn’t target anyone or involve anyone’s children. An innocent girl was dragged in to criticize Sara so is this feminism?”

Calling it a misuse of activism, she wrote, “This is not feminism but immorality in the guise of ‘activism’. If you really stand for women, then first respect the boundaries that protect us all, especially those who are the most innocent.”

Noor concluded by saying, “Any movement that uses a child as a weapon for its cause cannot call itself progressive. Before promoting feminism, it should be remembered that the real power lies not in silencing women, but in encouraging them.”

Sand, stars, and stardom: Hania Aamir and Diljit Dosanjh shine on Gadani beach

  • Mehwish Hayat, Yo Yo Honey Singh may face UK ban for THIS  song

Mehwish Hayat, Yo Yo Honey Singh may face UK ban for THIS  song

Pakistani star Mehwish Hayat and Indian singer Yo Yo Honey Singh could face a ban from entering the UK.

British Parliament member Manuela Perteghella has formally called for action against the two, urging the UK Home Office to investigate the video for its “disturbing glorification of violence,” Deadline reported.

Jatt Mehkma’s music video was filmed in the UK and released in November. It has already gained nearly 40 million views on YouTube. The four-minute clip ends with four minor boys joining Hayat’s character in opening fire on a group of men using replica automatic weapons and shotguns.

According to reports, the video was shot at Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire and in Birmingham’s city centre, with help from a UK-based production company.

The Home Office is reportedly considering exclusion orders barring Hayat and Singh from re-entering the country. “There are serious concerns about the use of imitation firearms and exposing minors to violent themes,” reports quoted a source familiar with the matter said.

Mehwish Hayat, known for roles in Ms. Marvel and Pakistani films like Load Wedding and Actor in Law, denied that any official action is being taken. “These claims are entirely speculative and misleading,” she said, urging media platforms to verify facts before sharing such news.

Yo Yo Honey Singh, a major figure in India’s hip-hop scene, has yet to respond publicly.

The UK Home Office and West Midlands Police have declined to comment, and no legal steps have been announced yet. Following the controversy, the BBC Asian Network has reportedly dropped Jatt Mehkma from future playlists.

The thespian has come out in strong support of Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh, who is facing backlash in an increasingly extremist India for sharing the screen with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in the latest film Sardaar Ji 3.

In a recent Facebook post, Naseeruddin urged people to understand that Diljit was not responsible for the film’s casting and praised him for not letting politics cloud his choices. He also criticised those who try to create hate between India and Pakistan.

“I STAND FIRMLY WITH DILJIT. The dirty tricks deptt of Jumla Party has been awaiting a chance to attack him. They think they’ve got it at last. He was not responsible for the casting of the film; the director was. But no one knows who he is, whereas Diljit is known the world over, and he agreed to the cast because his mind is not poisoned,” Shah wrote.

He then did what few other brave people in India can do, address the ban on Pakistani artists. “What these goons want is to put an end to personal interaction between the people of India and Pakistan. I have close relatives and some dear friends there, and no one can stop me from meeting them or sending them love whenever I feel like it.”

He concluded by saying, “And my response to those who will say ‘Go to Pakistan’ is ‘GO TO KAILASA’”.

  • Investigation reveals possible reason behind sudden death of Shefali Jariwala

Investigation reveals possible reason behind sudden death of Shefali Jariwala

Police investigations have revealed the possible cause of death of Indian actress Shefali Jariwala.

Popularly known as the ‘Kaanta Laga girl,’ Shefali passed away suddenly last week at the age of 42.

According to Indian media, Shefali was taken to a hospital from her Mumbai residence on June 27, where doctors declared her dead on arrival. Hospital staff confirmed that she had already passed away before reaching the hospital. While initial reports suggested a heart attack as the cause of death, officials are still investigating the exact reason.

Shefali’s long-time personal doctor told Indian media that she had not faced any serious health conditions in recent years. Instead, she had been getting anti-ageing treatments for nearly five to six years.

“Shefali never had any heart-related issue and she never took any medicine for heart treatment. She was taking treatments and medicines to stay fit and look younger,” her doctor revealed.

Police investigations so far suggest that Shefali regularly took anti-ageing injections on an empty stomach. On the day she died, Shefali reportedly injected herself around noon, which caused her to feel chills and lose consciousness.

She was rushed to the hospital but could not survive. Police have now seized all the medicines found at her house as they look deeper into what exactly caused her sudden death.

  • Drop scene: Rajab Butt claim of firing incident outside Lahore home is fake?

Drop scene: Rajab Butt claim of firing incident outside Lahore home is fake?

Lahore police have declared YouTuber Rajab Butt’s claims about a firing incident outside his home to be false.

According to media reports, police officials have said no evidence has been found of any person opening fire at Rajab’s house. However, the police did admit that the housing society he lived in had received complaints about stray dogs and one dog had been shot and killed.

Police have reiterated that there is no evidence that proves that shots were fired outside Rajab Butt’s house. He did not provide CCTV footage from his own cameras, and neighbours also did not confirm hearing shots or seeing a shooter. Police added that the vehicle Rajab mentioned in the FIR was not present at the scene.

Reports said the local housing society’s management had requested action against stray dogs. The administration shot a dog, which Rajab Butt then presented to the public as if it had been killed during a gun fire attack on his home.

Rajab Butt had claimed on Friday that four unidentified men in a white Suzuki Cultus with Karachi number plates came to his house and fired two shots with a silencer. He said one bullet killed his pet dog sitting at the doorstep.

“I can’t take this lightly,” Rajab said in a video interview at the time. “I know I have a massive following, and anyone could be carrying a weapon. No one has ever threatened me directly, but this kind of act cannot be ignored.”

Rajab said he was not home when the incident happened. His mother, sister and a security guard were present. He claimed his mother called him, and he immediately informed Chung Police Station, which arrived at the scene within minutes and collected evidence, including CCTV footage.

A case had been registered against unknown suspects, but the investigation has now revealed no firing took place. No arrests were made.

Recently, Rajab Butt was also in the news for a viral video of a street fight on Thokar Niaz Baig Road. Social media users claimed he was seen fighting with other content creators Shazi, Musa, and Haider. However, he later reached a settlement with the other party, and the matter was resolved peacefully. He was granted bail in that case too.

Police have now closed the firing investigation, calling the YouTuber’s claim baseless.

The YouTuber has repeatedly run into legal troubles, including getting arrested for keeping an unlicensed lion cub at his home and, more seriously, getting embroiled in a blasphemy scandal after naming his perfume ‘295’, the clause of the penal code that deals with blasphemy cases.

  • Asim Abbasi to co-direct BBC’s new Jane Austen spin-off series

Asim Abbasi to co-direct BBC’s new Jane Austen spin-off series

Pakistani filmmaker Asim Abbasi has been appointed as the co-director for The Other Bennet Sister, an upcoming series from BBC and BritBox based on Janice Hadlow’s novel that reinterprets Pride and Prejudice from Mary Bennet’s viewpoint.

Abbasi will collaborate with British director Jennifer Sheridan in sharing the directing duties. This ten-part drama centers on Mary Bennet as she emerges from her sisters’ shadows, exploring her journey toward self-discovery and autonomy. The series is set to debut in 2026 on BBC One, BBC iPlayer, and BritBox.

Ella Bruccoleri, recognized for her performance in Bridgerton, will take on the role of Mary Bennet. The cast also includes Richard E. Grant and Ruth Jones as Mr. and Mrs. Bennet, along with Indira Varma, Richard Coyle, and Tanya Reynolds. Set in Regency-era England, the series follows Mary’s travels from her family home in Meryton to the social scenes of London and the Lake District, as she seeks her identity and purpose.

Abbasi, who is renowned for his contributions to Pakistani cinema and streaming platforms, has established a reputation for innovative and genre-blending storytelling. His debut feature Cake (2018) was selected as Pakistan’s entry for the 2019 Oscars. In 2020, his web series Churails, released on ZEE5, received acclaim for its daring and female-centric narrative. His latest project, Barzakh (2024), featuring Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed, delved into supernatural themes. He also directed an episode of the second season of The Famous Five.

This represents Abbasi’s first significant partnership with the BBC. The adaptation presents him with an opportunity to engage with classic British literature while furthering his exploration of character-driven storytelling, a defining trait of his earlier works.

Details about filming and production have not yet been revealed, but the project positions Abbasi alongside notable UK talents in an arena that has traditionally been led by British specialists in period dramas. His involvement highlights the increasing global recognition of South Asian filmmakers in the television industry.

  • ‘Do this and you will get work’: Mehar Bano speaks out on harassment in entertainment industry

‘Do this and you will get work’: Mehar Bano speaks out on harassment in entertainment industry

Actress Mehar Bano has openly spoken about the shadows of harassment that often lurk behind the glitter and glamour of the entertainment industry.

Mehar Bano appeared on the comedy talk show Hansna Mana Hai, where she spoke candidly about her career and various hidden aspects of the entertainment industry.

Bano, who now lives outside Pakistan, revealed that artists are often pressured with “big demands” and “unreasonable conditions” in exchange for work, adding that harassment is something both men and women in the industry frequently face.

“Both boys and girls in the Pakistani showbiz industry face harassment frequently, whether in front of the camera or behind it. Such incidents are very common,” she stated.

She added, “Sometimes artists even receive offers like ‘Do this and you will get work.’ Powerful people in the industry put pressure on actors for work. Showbiz is a world full of beautiful faces and attractive personalities, which is why its dark side is so prominent and people often fall victim to it.”

Responding to a question, she said that she does not enjoy playing the roles of innocent girls in dramas. Instead, she prefers characters who are confident and make their own decisions. “I don’t like to play innocent girl roles. I prefer characters where girls are confident and take their own decisions because such roles match my own personality more,” she said.

In a surprising revelation, Mehar Bano shared that many well-known actors in the industry have poor personal hygiene, making it difficult to work with them. She recalled working on a project with actor Affan Waheed, saying, “We were working on a project where one co-actor’s body odor was really strong, but I didn’t say anything to him.”

She explained, “I usually don’t say anything about such things and handle it all professionally.”

  • ‘We so fixated on age’; Mehwish Hayat slams the industry

‘We so fixated on age’; Mehwish Hayat slams the industry

Renowned actor Mehwish Hayat has spoken out against the age bias in Pakistan’s entertainment industry, singling out the double standards faced by women to criticise.

In a recent interview with Rabia Mughni of Fuchsia Magazine, Mehwish highlighted how women in showbiz are expected to stay young, while men continue to get lead roles no matter how old they get.

“Here, men are allowed to age gracefully, to appear as heroes and main leads with younger girls. That’s okay. But with our female actors, we’re expected to freeze in time,” she said.

Mehwish added that this problem isn’t as common in Western industries. “Why are we so fixated on the age of an actor, instead of their craft, their work, their character? Everything else is sidelined.”

When asked how the industry could move forward, she stressed the need to show strong female characters in their 30s, 40s, and 50s, women who are leaders and role models. “That’s the only way we celebrate and cherish them,” she said, urging artists to be proud of aging instead of hiding it.

She also pointed out the hypocrisy in how male actors over 40 are respected for their experience, while women face judgment. “Female actors above 30 are taken seriously because that’s when they’ve grown and matured as an artist and as an actor,” she said.

Her comments come at a time when the age gap between Humayun Saeed and Sajal Aly in ARY Digital’s upcoming drama Main Manto Nahi Hoon has led to heated debates online. With a gap of more than 20 years between the leads, many fans called the casting “vile” and symbolic of the industry’s obsession with youth, especially for female roles.

Mehwish believes the industry must change its mindset. “Writers need to write those scripts. Producers need to produce those stories. We as actors need to do more women-led roles where we have women of all ages,” she said.

As for the constant questions about marriage, Mehwish shared that it’s more of a societal pressure. “Every person has a timeline, a goal in life. For some people, getting married is their main goal. For me, it never was. Of course, it’s important, marriage is the most important decision of one’s life, I would say,” she explained, adding that she would only marry when she’s fully sure about the person.
