  • Fans in meltdown over Hania Aamir’s new reel, Asim Azhar’s cheeky reaction

Fans in meltdown over Hania Aamir’s new reel, Asim Azhar’s cheeky reaction

Internet is in meltdown after Hania Aamir posted a reel using Asim Azhar’s song ‘U Got This’, to which the singer also responded himself.

One user tried to keep things rational and wrote, “Bharosa rakho, random song choose kiya hai bhai, [have faith, [she] used a random song].”

Another fan leaned straight into the chaos and asked, “Hania phir hum confirm samjhy [Hania, should we take this as a confirmation]?” A third one joked, “Move on toh Hania ka bhi nahi hua [Hania hasn’t moved on either].”

Amid all the commentary, Asim also responded to the reel.

Sharing it reel to his Instagram story, Asim wrote, “Haan, main galat par sahi bhi hota hoon [Yes, I’m wrong, but I am also right].”

While Hania is yet to respond, the bond shared between the two has always kept the public curious amid reports of a romantic entanglement, break-up and alleged reconciliation.

Earlier this month, Asim took over social media, making fans think if their long-held suspicions might just be true.

After mysteriously deleting all his Instagram posts and leaving behind only a cryptic “Khuda Hafiz,” Asim finally broke his silence with a dramatic comeback video. The clip announced his much-anticipated solo album “Asim Ali”, but that was not what got fans talking.

The real shocker came when Hania appeared in the video. The ex-couple, who had parted ways years ago, were seen together, sparking an internet meltdown and instant rumours of a possible reunion.

In his post, Asim wrote, “On my 29th birthday, I want to introduce you to someone special. Until now, you’ve known Asim Azhar, but now it’s time to meet Asim Ali, my truest and most authentic self.” He added that “Asim Ali”, his first independent album, will finally be “yours soon.”

But fans were not exactly focused on the album name or even the release date. All eyes went straight to the fifth track on the list, “Lost and Found,” which featured none other than Hania.

  • Humayun Saeed, Ahsan Khan or Fahad Mustafa? Mehwish Hayat asked about her ‘flirtiest’ co-star

Humayun Saeed, Ahsan Khan or Fahad Mustafa? Mehwish Hayat asked about her ‘flirtiest’ co-star

Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat has opened up about behind-the-scenes fun on her drama sets and answered which of her co-stars has the “flirtiest” vibe during shoots.

Mehwish is currently in Texas where she is participating in the Pakistan Celebrity Cricket League (PCCL).

During an event, host Nida Yasir fired a series of rapid questions at her, including one by fans about which of her co-stars “flirts most often”.

She pointed out that Mehwish most frequently works with Humayun Saeed, Ahsan Khan, Fahad Mustafa and Azfar Rehman, asking which of the four is the biggest flirt. Before Mehwish could answer, people in the audience instantly shouted Humayun Saeed’s name.

Mehwish smiled and said, “Humayun does not flirt.”

“His nature is just like that. He jokes around all the time and creates a fun environment,” she said, adding that when she is on set with Humayun and director Nadeem Baig, a friendly “triangle” forms.

“We keep joking about who is closest to me. This fun banter goes on all the time. They are all like family friends to me,” Mehwish said.

The host then pushed her further and asked her to rank the four actors.

    Mehwish did not hesitate.

“I would put Humayun first,” she said. She placed Ahsan Khan second and gave Fahad Mustafa the third spot. When asked about Azfar Rehman, she laughed and said, “He is my best friend.”

Mehwish remains one of Pakistan’s most popular and successful actresses, with several major hits to her name.

She earned wide praise for her performance in Punjab Nahi Jaungi (2017), which became one of the highest-grossing Pakistani films of its time. Her next big-screen project, Load Wedding (2018), also received critical acclaim and performed well at the box office.

Mehwish also starred in Actor in Law (2016), a commercially successful film that won Best Film at the Lux Style Awards.

In 2019, the government of Pakistan awarded her the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz for her contributions to cinema.

  • Pakistanis buy up to 90,000 kgs of gold every year, but 90% of trade remains undocumented: study

Pakistanis buy up to 90,000 kgs of gold every year, but 90% of trade remains undocumented: study

Pakistan’s annual gold demand stands between 60 and 90 tonnes worth $8–12 billion, but more than 90 percent of the trade remains undocumented, it has emerged.

According to the Competition Assessment Study of the country’s gold market, which was released by the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP), nearly 70 percent of domestic demand is driven by weddings and festivities. However, despite the appetite, Pakistan imported $17 million worth of gold in FY24 while official reserves stood at 64.76 tons valued at almost $9 billion by late 2025.

The CCP highlighted the potential of the Reko Diq mine, which could generate $74 billion in revenue over 37 years, producing 17.9 million ounces of gold worth $54 billion at current prices. However, without urgent reforms in refining, hallmarking, and regulation, this output risks being absorbed into the same informal system that dominates the market today.

The report pointed to fragmented oversight, weak hallmarking enforcement, and high compliance costs as key factors fueling smuggling and undocumented trade. The suspension of SRO 760 has further disrupted regulatory stability, halting gem and jewellery exports.

Gold trading remains concentrated in Karachi and Lahore, with daily pricing largely determined by associations rather than transparent market mechanisms.

To address these challenges, the CCP recommended establishing a unified regulatory authority, enforcing mandatory hallmarking, introducing digital traceability tools such as blockchain, and creating a gold banking system to formalise household gold. It also called for improved taxation, labour policies, and data governance to align the sector with international standards.

  • US halts all immigration applications for Afghan nationals after Washington shooting

US halts all immigration applications for Afghan nationals after Washington shooting

The United States (US) has indefinitely halted all immigration applications from Afghan citizens after the suspect who opened fire at US National Guard personnel in Washington DC was identified as an Afghan.

“All immigration applications for Afghan nationals are paused indefinitely,” the US Citizenship and Immigration Services said in a statement, adding that security and screening protocols for Afghan applicants will be reviewed thoroughly.

The statement came shortly after two National Guard personnel were shot near the White House.

According to reports, a man opened fire on the personnel, prompting a heavy police response at the scene. The two injured officers were immediately rushed to a hospital, and their condition remains critical.

The suspect arrested from the scene was identified as 29-year-old Afghan citizen Rahmanullah Laknwal, who arrived in the US in 2021.

Following the shooting, authorities temporarily locked down the White House and secured surrounding areas. Police advised civilians to avoid I Street and nearby zones.

Secretary of Homeland Security said they were working with law enforcement agencies to gather information while President Donald Trump condemned the attack as terrorism.

In a public address, Trump ordered a review of all foreign nationals who entered the US from Afghanistan during the Biden administration. On social media, he called the shooter an “animal” and warned that anyone who fired upon the National Guard personnel will pay a heavy price.

The shooting also briefly disrupted flights at Washington’s Ronald Reagan Airport.

  • ‘I’m the same guy under whom India won Champions Trophy, Asia Cup,’ says Gautam Gambhir after Test whitewash

‘I’m the same guy under whom India won Champions Trophy, Asia Cup,’ says Gautam Gambhir after Test whitewash

With India suffering a historic 2-0 home Test series defeat against South Africa, head coach Gautam Gambhir has defended his record and hit back at critics, reminding them he is the same guy under whom the team won Champions Trophy and Asia Cup.

Temba Bavuma-led Proteas on Wednesday stunned India on their home turf, defeating the hosts by 408 runs in the second Test in Guwahati to complete a clean sweep.

With the match marking South Africa’s first series win in the country in 25 years, India, once considered nearly unbeatable in Tests at home, ended up losing five home Tests in the 2024-25 period, same as the total number of home defeats in 11 years – from 2012-23.

After the crushing defeat, Gambhir faced the media to answer questions about his future and the team’s performance.

When asked whether he is still the right man to continue as India’s head coach in Test cricket, he said, “There is… to be honest, there is no hindsight to sport. Whatever decision we’ve taken, we’ve taken for the best interest of the team and we absolutely believe that those were the right decisions that could get the job done for the country and for the team.”

“And the second question, it is up to BCCI to decide. I’ve said it in my first press conference when I took over as the head coach… Indian cricket is important, I’m not important. And I sit here and say exactly the same thing.”

Gambhir also reminded reporters of India’s successes under his leadership, citing victories in England, the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and the Asia Cup 2025.

“And yes, people can keep forgetting about it. I’m the same guy who got results in England as well, with a young team. And I’m sure you guys will forget very soon because a lot of people keep talking about New Zealand,” he added.

“Yes, this is a team that has less experience. And I’ve said it before as well, that they need to keep learning and they’re putting everything possible to turn the tide.”

  • Adiala Jail breaks silence on Imran Khan’s health, alleged transfer

Adiala Jail breaks silence on Imran Khan’s health, alleged transfer

The Adiala Jail administration has rejected online claims about the health of incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, also breaking silence on reports that he had been moved out of prison.

Media reports citing jail officials said Khan remained inside the facility and was in good health.

“There is no truth to reports about his transfer from Adiala jail,” officials said, adding that he was receiving full medical care. They also dismissed social media speculation about his health as “baseless”, saying the jail staff continued to ensure his well-being.

Khan has been in Adiala since August 2023 and faces several cases, including corruption and terrorism, following his removal from office through a no-confidence vote in April 2022.

Separately, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif also commented on Khan’s prison conditions. He said the PTI founder enjoyed far more comfort in jail than what he experienced during his imprisonment. “Check the menu of the food that comes for him, it’s better than what a five-star hotel offers,” he said.

Asif claimed Khan had access to a television, a choice of channels, and exercise machines. He contrasted this with his own time behind bars. “We slept on cold floors, ate jail food, and had only two blankets in January with no hot water,” he said, recalling that the then superintendent had even removed the water geyser from his cell.

The minister added that Khan had been provided a double bed and a “velvet mattress”, saying he should “listen to his Washington Arena speech on the jail loudspeaker”. He urged people to “fear God”.

It may be noted that the statements from jail authorities as well as the defence minister come amid rumours regarding incarcerated Khan’s health.

The claims on Wednesday were first made by Afghan social media users and later picked up by Indian accounts.

  • Justice Najafi links Noor Mukaddam’s murder to ‘Live-In Relationships’ in controversial note

Justice Najafi links Noor Mukaddam’s murder to ‘Live-In Relationships’ in controversial note

In an additional note written on the Noor Mukaddam murder case verdict, which was released today, Justice Ali Baqar Najafi, who is now a judge on the Federal Constitutional court, while upholding the sentence awarded to Zahir Jaffar, who murdered Noor in 2021, observed that “the present case [Noor Mukaddam’s case] is a direct result of a vice spreading in the upper society which we know as ‘living relationship’”.

It seems the judge was talking about a ‘live-in relationship’ where two people choose to live with each other instead of entering a marriage contract.

The additional note was part of a review petition of the murder case, which the apex court had heard last month. Zahir Jaffer had filed a petition, challenging charges against him.

During the hearing of the petition, Justice Najafi told senior counsel Khwaja Haaris representing Zahir Jaffer that it would be better to start the hearing instead of going through the additional note, which is why it was not made public earlier.
Later, Justice Najafi was appointed to the newly created Federal Constitutional Court.

In the note, Justice Najafi also stressed that live-in relationships ignore “societal compulsions” and “defy not only the law of the land but also the personal law” under Sharia and that engaging in such a relationship was “a direct revolt against Almighty Allah”.
He also stressed that the younger generation should be made aware of the “horrible consequences” of the present case.
Justice Najafi upheld the death sentence for Zahir Jaffer, saying that the prosecution’s evidence was circumstantial.
“One end of the rope is found tied with the dead body of Noor Mukadam, and the other end tied with the neck of the petitioner,” he said.

27-year-old Noor was found murdered at the family residence of Zahir Jaffer in July 2021. He was convicted in 2022 by the trial court in Islamabad and the Supreme Court upheld the death sentence given to Zahir Jaffer.

It is also important to note that it has not been reported during the investigation and media coverage of the case that she was in a live-in relationship with Zahir Jaffer.

  • Azlan Shah gets bashed online after ‘second marriage’ prank backfires

Azlan Shah gets bashed online after ‘second marriage’ prank backfires

YouTuber and social media influencer Azlan Shah, known for gifting a donkey to his bride at their wedding, faced strong backlash after he posted a dramatic announcement claiming he is “getting married again.”

Azlan shared an Instagram story telling fans he had something important to reveal. He wrote that he felt it was his responsibility to share the news himself before anyone else did.

The announcement confused many followers and triggered a wave of reactions. Some thought he was joking, others believed he was serious, and a few sent harsh messages.

Now after few hours, Azlan posted a video with his wife, Dr Vareesha Javed Khan, to clarify that he had played a prank. He began the video by saying many people accused him of lying and even cursing him after reading his original post.

He then offered a clarification: “It is true, I am getting married again. I am marrying again, but not doing a second marriage. I am marrying Vareesha again,” he said. He added that it was simply their anniversary surprise and not an announcement about taking another wife.

Vareesha, who was beside him in the video, said his way of announcing it was very bad. Azlan apologised again and again, saying, “I am sorry and I love you.”

She added, “I cannot even let him think about a second marriage,” which made Azlan quickly add another apology.

However, followers were not amused and called the prank tasteless.

One user wrote, “Ah, just what we need. Another generation of men making ‘doosri shaadi’ jokes. These problematic norms keep getting passed down like unwanted heirlooms.”

Another commented, “You need to come up with something better. I love you guys but this idea is a big no.”

Some questioned the intention behind the stunt. One user asked, “Is gaining attention more important than having morals?”

Another reaction read, “Trust me, you two are smarter than this. This was a really bad idea.”

Others criticised the stunt more harshly. “Sasti shohrat bhai, nothing else,” wrote one user. Another said, “Attention chaheye the views kam arahy tey.”

Someone commented, “Such a cheap way to gain attention.”

And one user even warned him jokingly, “Bohat gaalian parengi bhai, comments off kar do.”

Despite the backlash, Azlan tried to keep the tone of the video light by laughing with Vareesha and repeatedly apologising. But social media was not ready to let this one slide easily, especially because jokes about “second marriage”.

Azlan and Vareesha married in 2022 and share a two-year-old daughter. The couple is known for their playful content, but this time their prank landed differently.

  • TW VIDEO: Indian national basketball player dies after pole falls during practice in Haryana

TW VIDEO: Indian national basketball player dies after pole falls during practice in Haryana

A 16-year-old Indian national-level basketball player, Hardik, died in an accident in Rohtak, Haryana, after a basketball pole fell on him during practice.

According to Indian media reports, Hardik was practising at a court in Lakhan Majra when the pole, apparently not planted firmly, toppled forward and crushed him. His friends rushed to help, but the teen could not be saved.

Chilling CCTV footage shows Hardik practising alone. He runs from the three-point line and jumps to touch the basket, a common drill to improve scoring skills.

On his first attempt, he completes the move successfully. On the second attempt, he clutches the basket rim, and the pole uproots, falling on his chest. Friends lifted the pole immediately, but Hardik died soon after.

Neighbours said Hardik had been selected for the national team and had recently returned from a training camp.

His father, Sandeep Rathi, had enrolled Hardik and his younger brother at a sports club near their home to train. Police recovered the body and handed it over to the family after the post-mortem. A case has been registered.

Shockingly, a few days ago, a similar incident occurred in Bahadurgarh, Haryana, where 15-year-old Aman died after a basketball pole fell on him during practice.

Aman suffered internal injuries and passed away at Rohtak’s Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences. His family has accused doctors at PGIMS of failing to provide proper care. Aman was a Class 10 student who recently won a medal in his school’s annual sports event.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini said that he would, “inquire and take action accordingly.”

Panchayat Minister Krishan Lal Panwar called the incident “unfortunate” and said a detailed investigation would be conducted. He added, “I will write to all District Education Officers and the Education Minister. I will seek information in detail.”
