Chahat Fateh Ali Khan threatens legal action after Mathira accuses him of harassment

Singer Chahat Fateh Ali Khan has threatened legal action against television host Mathira after she revealed she was very uncomfortable during an interaction with him.

Khan recently appeared on Mathira’s talk show The 21mm Show, and posted a video on his Instagram where he was moving closer to the host while singing his popular song, Bado Badi, while she kept moving away. Khan also gave her a one-armed hug and held her arm repeatedly, despite her nervous laughter.

In a video titled “Mathira breaks silence on harassment by Chahat Fateh Ali Khan,” she spoke about the incident and said, “Whenever a guest comes to our show, I respect them and treat them with love and kindness, but making a video in this way was a very bad move. Being bold does not mean that anyone will see and hug me,”  Mathira said.

“I was feeling very uncomfortable. This video was not made with our cameras, but by Chahat Fateh without permission. My team and I did not know that this video was made. The show’s cameras are somewhere else, while this video was made from another spot, which is not allowed,” she explained.

“As a woman, all this was painful because I do not do all these things to hug people,” she remarked.

Chahat responded in a video posted on his Instagram account, stating that Mathira was speaking out against him when in “reality” she had pleaded for months that he appear on her show because it wasn’t doing well.

“During the interview, she asked how long it takes to complete the shoot for a song because I’ve released 52 songs and I told her I would show her after the show.”

“When the show ended, during the photo session, my video shows that she came to me and put her arm around my waist. I straightened her and said pictures were taken facing the front.”

He said the second video showed him demonstrating how his music videos were recorded and that Mathira “enjoyed it, laughed and couldn’t stop laughing.”

Khan claimed that after the show was a hit and everything had happened, the host was accusing him of harassment, “which is a big accusation.”

“I have spoken to my lawyers and will meet with another solicitor. I will take you to court. I did not harass you,” he maintained.

He said Mathira was a respected senior artist, and despite her asking many questions on the show, he did not answer and kept laughing so the show could get coverage. “Later you made claims of harassment. This is injustice.”

Khan also claimed that he always went to TV shows by himself, and “Your own worker, one of the cameramen, recorded the video and I got it from them. Everyone was filming. That someone was with me and recording a video secretly is a huge lie and allegation.”

  • FIR Filed Against Rana Ayyub for ‘Anti-India’ Posts on Social Media

FIR Filed Against Rana Ayyub for ‘Anti-India’ Posts on Social Media

A journalist named Rana Ayyub is in legal trouble for allegedly insulting Hindu gods and trilaterally promoting anti-India propaganda, which was reported by Live Law. A court in Delhi has ordered an FIR, following a complaint against Ayyub’s posts on social media.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Himanshu Raman Singh passed the order after lawyer Amita Sachdeva complained about the activities of Rana Ayyub on the social media platform. She claimed that it was aggrieving Hindu beliefs and creating anti-India hatred.

“In light of the facts and circumstances, the complaint portends the commission of cognizable offenses for which FIR is necessary. The current SHO Cyber Police Station is hereby ordered to change the details of the complaint into FIR and ensure that the matter is properly investigated,” the court said.

The court determined that some of Rana Ayyub’s tweets contained supportive remarks for Shehla Rashid and others, as well as attempts to disparage Indian culture. It seemed to warrant a full police investigation. This constitutes the offenses under sections 153A (promoting animosity between the groups), 295A (intentionally hurting religious feelings), and 505 (public mischief) of the IPC.

“The facts pleaded by the complainant are such that they require the intervention of state machinery in the form of a police investigation,” the court noted.

At first, Sachdeva went to the Cyber Cell of Delhi Police with a complaint of IPC Section 66A of the Information Technology Act alleging that Ayyub’s tweets are planned to “regularly ridicule, insult Hindus, speak badly about India, and promote riots between religions.”

Sachdeva said that after the police failed to initiate an investigation, she went to the magistrate’s court.

Rana Ayyub’s posts revealed “an agenda to insult Hindu beliefs and create communal strife,” according to the complaint, which called for the state to step in.

    Who is Rana Ayyub?

Rana Ayyub is one of the strongest Indian investigative journalists as well as an active global opinion contributor to the Washington Post. Ayyub has held the positions of reporter, editor, and columnist at several top Indian and international news agencies. She has written for Time, The New York Times, The Guardian, and the Atlantic, along with several other publications.

Rana has extensively reported majoritarian politics and violence, state extrajudicial killings, Islamophobia, and communalism and authored the international bestseller “Gujarat Files: Anatomy of a Cover-Up,” an undercover investigation of the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and communal violence under his reign.

In 15 years of her professional career, Rana Ayyub has received a Sanskriti award for integrity and excellence in journalism from the former President of India. She was the winner of the global Shinning Light Award for investigative journalism in 2017. Additionally, she was recognized in 2019 as one of the ten journalists worldwide who faced extremely dangerous circumstances, and she was chosen as the Hague’s 2018 most resilient global journalist. An unprecedented approach for a single case in India was taken in 2018 when the UN assigned six special rapporteurs to the Indian government for her particular protection.

Call Her Daddy Video Episodes Shift to YouTube Amid Spotify-SiriusXM Transition

Alex Cooper’s video episodes of the show ‘Call Her Daddy’ are moving from Spotify to YouTube.

Now, Cooper’s video episodes of ‘Call Her Daddy’ and other Unwell Network shows will be moving from Spotify to YouTube. This includes ‘Hot Mess with Alix Earle’ and ‘Pretty Lonesome with Madeline Argy.’ Audio versions of all podcasts will continue to be available far and wide.

Cooper announced her Instagram Story on Monday. She claimed that it would lead to “all-new episodes of ‘Call Her Daddy’ on YouTube for free.” The move comes in the wake of SiriusXM closing the deal to acquire Cooper’s podcast network for up to $125 million. The world’s top female podcaster, Cooper had previously fallen under Spotify’s slate of shows.

In August, when the deal was announced, Cooper stated, “I am beyond excited to work with SiriusXM.” “My top priority will always remain the Daddy Gang. And with SiriusXM, we will continue to find new ways to evolve and provide my listeners the best experience possible. “We are preparing to provide The Daddy Gang with more because they want more. This new phase of my life, I am excited to begin.”

Spotify has given Alex Cooper’s show a lot of attention since the podcast network’s launch in 2018. Call Her Daddy is always ranked number one behind Joe Rogan’s podcast. It is a major accomplishment for SiriusXM to steal her content from Spotify. However, specialists question whether the satellite radio company has overpaid. The three-year $60 million contract with Cooper was not renewed in 2021, while reports state that SiriusXM paid between $100 million and $125 million for the deal.

  • Rakhi Sawant ‘moves’ to Pakistan for Hania Aamir, Wasim Akram

Rakhi Sawant ‘moves’ to Pakistan for Hania Aamir, Wasim Akram

Bollywood’s favourite drama queen, Rakhi Sawant, has once again taken over social media — this time with a new mission! Just days after declaring that she would move to Pakistan if TikTok was not unbanned in India, she has now jokingly claimed to have “arrived” in Lahore.

In a now-viral clip, Rakhi is seen surrounded by a mountain of suitcases, dramatically announcing, “Look at this! I have brought so many bags from India to stay in Pakistan. I am standing in Lahore, at Lahore airport. Hania, I have come to meet you and stay with you!”

“I have left Bollywood and India to work in the Pakistani industry. Hania, clear out your wardrobes because all my bags are now in your house!” she added.

But that wasn’t all. Expressing her disappointment over the lack of a grand welcome, she hilariously complained, “Oh, people of Lahore, what are you doing? You were supposed to feed me Halwa Puri! No one came to pick me up!”

Just when the internet thought the excitement was over, another video surfaced of Rakhi, now supposedly near Lahore’s PC Hotel, dramatically stating, “I am in Lahore. People of Pakistan, I am tired! Now, who is coming to pick me up?”

To add to the theatrics, Rakhi made a fake call to Hania, saying, “Hania, where are you? I waited at the airport for two hours! Now I am at PC Hotel. Are you coming to pick me up? And whoever wants to meet me, come to Lahore. I’m here!”

And in true Rakhi style, she wasn’t done with her demands: “Where is Wasim Akram? Bring him too! Because Wasim Akram said, ‘Rakhi, whenever you come to Pakistan, we will welcome you.’”

At this point, Pakistanis on social media were thoroughly entertained, with many jokingly offering to deliver her long-awaited halwa puri.

  • PTI says will replace ‘homeopathic’ leaders with ‘hardliners’; vows to march on Islamabad again

PTI says will replace ‘homeopathic’ leaders with ‘hardliners’; vows to march on Islamabad again

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) chapter President Junaid Akbar on Tuesday vowed to bring “hardliners” to the party’s key positions, saying that PTI would march again towards Islamabad.

In a show on a private news channel, the recently appointed Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), Junaid Akbar, said, “After the May 8 party reorganization, hardliners will come forward…homeopathic leadership will be sidelined, regardless of whether they hold central or provincial [party] positions.”

Defining hardliners, Akbar referred to those who had resisted during the May 9, 2023, protest, as well as those who might resist in the future. He added that PTI was deliberating three options for orchestrating protests in February.

In the same breath, he said, “We’ve finalised the protest at Sawabi on February 8. Another option is to record protests district-wise.”

Akbar further claimed that the party would bring changes to KP’s provincial cabinet, adding that two new members would be inducted.

Responding to a question about alleged political victimisation and “conspiracies” being hatched by the federal government, Akbar said attempts were being made to create a forward block in the former ruling party. “We also know who is in contact with whom,” he added.

Moreover, the PTI provincial president said that he would support the option to close the main roads of KP linked to Gilgit Baltistan, Punjab, and motorways. “Party leadership is deliberating this option,” he sternly said.

Programme host Hamid Mir asked if PTI was going for a full-fledged war against the incumbent government and whether Imran Khan had no intentions of becoming Prime Minister (PM) again. Akbar quoted Imran Khan as saying, “I have forgotten to become PM again. PTI has to think beyond the government and premiership.”

When asked if his new position in the party suggested that there would be no negotiations with the government and the matters would be solved on the streets, Akbar replied, “Yes, definitely.”

The PTI leader further said that they would not engage with anyone when they take to the streets this time.

Advisor to the PM on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, hours after Junaid’s remarks, responded by cautioning that if PTI violates the law while taking to the roads in the future, the law would take its own course.

“If they want to solve the problem on the roads, then come… problems can only be solved at the negotiation table in a democratic political system,” Sanaullah emphasised while speaking to a private news channel.

  • New Toshakhana case: Imran Khan claims judge’s brother is prosecutor in May 9 case

New Toshakhana case: Imran Khan claims judge’s brother is prosecutor in May 9 case

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle has lashed out at the government while expressing reservations about Islamabad High Court (IHC) judge Raja Minhas who was appointed to hear the appeal of the new Toshakhana case.

“I have serious reservations about Judge Raja Minhas being assigned to my Toshakhana 2 Case appeal in the Islamabad High Court. Arshad Minhas, his brother, is both a lawyer and prosecutor against me in the May 9th cases and the GHQ attack case,” stated Khan’s official X account’s lengthy post this morning.

The post also highlighted that Justice Raja Minhas was appointed as the IHC judge only under the controversial 26th Constitutional Amendment – a law that the PTI has rejected and challenged in the Supreme Court.

“Raja Minhas’s ad-hoc appointment after the 26th Amendment and his dependence on the government for confirmation of his position reflects a conflict of interest, so he must recuse himself from the case,” read the post.

The official account also strongly condemned the government for failing to constitute a judicial commission to investigate the events of May 9, 2023 and November 26, 2024 – the primary condition set by the PTI in the negotiations between them and the government.

“This government is avoiding the formation of a judicial commission because it has something to hide. We cannot move forward (with negotiations) without accountability for the incidents of May 9th (2023) and November 26th (2024),” it announced.

The account also claimed that the government has spent Rs. 500 million on prosecution to pursue cases against Imran Khan.

It also opined on the Al-Qadir Trust case in which Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, were recently convicted and punished.

“The decision of the London court is clear in the Al-Qadir Trust case: the funds were to go into the Supreme Court’s account, not to the government. On April 21st, 2020, NAB constituted an inquiry committee comprising the Chairman, Deputy Chairman, Prosecutor, and Additional Prosecutor, who unanimously decided to close this case due to the lack of any merit to proceed. The reopening of this inquiry was malicious,” claimed the long post.

“The current NAB Chairman is being dishonest to his position by continuing with the case despite this, merely to increase pressure on me. NAB amendments were made solely to exonerate cases against Nawaz Sharif and his entire family,” stated the X post.
