Today on January 28, 2025, a prominent downturn was observed in global stock markets. The main reason is the presentation of a new AI model from the Chinese artificial intelligence (AI) company “DeepSec”. This progress challenged the dominance of  American Technology companies and created concern among investors.

This model is on the top spot on the US App Store by leaving ChatGPT behind. This success affected the American technology companies especially it affects the market position of NVIDIA.

 

Effects on the US Stock Market

After this progress of DeepSec, a clear depression was observed in the US stock market. More than 13% of NAVIDIA’s shares decreased, on which the company’s market value reduced by $465 billion. This deficiency is one of the biggest deficiencies in the history of the American market. In addition, shares also saw a decline in many other technology companies like Microsoft, Alphabet, and Amazon.

 

Concerns of Investors and Future Prospects

The low cost of DeepSec’s AI model and effective performance raised questions about the high prices of American technology companies. Investors are worried that this progress may affect on the sustainability and potential obstacles of the US AI boom. Moreover, European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde warned that interference in the independence of the central bank may raise the economic instability.

In recent episodes, one incident gained the attention of the viewers when the contestant Nicky Billingham beared a lot of injuries in “The Edge” event. During the competition with Gladiator “Dynamite” Nicky Billingham’s neck and arm were injured and medical assistance was required. After this incident, people called this event as “dangerous” and raised the question on its safety. In future there are possibilities of changes in this event so can be ensured the safety of contestants.

 

Program Hosting and New Events

Bradley and Barney Walsh are hosting this season and they introduced new events in the show. “Atlasspheres” is a previous favourite event that comes back in this season. In this event, gladiators are in large metal balls and try to get points. In addition, a new event “Unlash” has also been introduced and in this event, the contestants are started from the tunnel that is full of smoke and unknown gladiators followed them.

Viewers’ Feedback and Criticism

Although the popularity of the show is increasing but some people have also criticised the changes that are included in it. The original host of the show  John Fashanu, called the new version “whack” and said that it does not look like a real gladiator. He also said that the world has changed and changes were necessary in the show but a few changes are not compatible with the real soul of the show.

Rail safety investigators have claimed an Elizabeth Line train was traveling at nearly twice the speed limit. It led to a jolt that caused some passengers to lose their balance. Moreover, one of the passengers fell after the service between Heathrow and Shenfield went past a signal near Manor Park at 45 miles per hour instead of the recommended 25 on 24 September 2024. 

RAIB also claimed that the driver ‘did not believe that this high speed was severe enough to report’ and still managed to notice an ‘incongruently placed, dirty and inconspicuous’ sign.

During the onsite investigation, Howard Smith said, “This was a rare occurrence. We apologize to customers who were on board.”

RAIB recommended improved refresher training for drivers on rarely used routes in an attempt to prevent knowledge fades, pointing out that an onboard staff member had reported the overspeed. 

The report claimed the sign should have been under the left directional arrow. ‘At the time of the incident, the sign was midway beneath the bridge, at a level that made vision difficult.’

“Mr. Smith attested that they had modified their policies as a result of this event.”

 

Paddington Delays Due to Elizabeth Line Electrical Fault

Elizabeth Line is currently facing a disruption because of an issue with a power supply in London Paddington. All trains connecting London Paddington to Heathrow have not been operational since earlier today at 7 AM on January 28.

Great Western, Heathrow Express, and Elizabeth Line services might be affected as the engineers are currently working on the issue that caused this disruption. The problematic situation may result in the cancellation or modification of certain trains. However, the remaining trains from England will need to be delayed for up to 60 minutes due to the queued passengers. 

Even though London Rail is addressing the problem, passengers are recommended to avoid the affected routes for the time being.

The video did reach online gates and obtain more than 36 million views before it was eventually erased after Selena Gomez received negative comments online. However, Gomez appealed by explaining this on another Instagram story: “Clearly, pitying for people is a bad idea.”

The crackdown comes during the largest deportation operation since Trump resumed office. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has recently arrested 956 individuals in a nationwide sweep, with the Department of Defense providing military aircraft to deport over 5,000 detainees.

Selena Gomez has vocalized her concerns about immigration issues by producing the 2019 Netflix documentary Living Undocumented and writing a TIME magazine article documenting her family’s journey as Mexican immigrants.

Cody Rhodes making his return to Raw ahead of the Royal Rumble

Cody Rhodes is scheduled to make an appearance on the Red brand ahead of the Royal Rumble. He signed the contract for his ladder match against Kevin Owens during Saturday night’s main event; Shawn Michaels moderated the signing.

Rhodes relinquished his claim to the undisputed WWE title. This will now hang high above the ring for the ladder match on February 1. The Winged Eagle title that Kevin Owens had also relinquished will be hung above the ring along with the undisputed title at Lucas Oil Stadium.

 

Sami Zayn vs. Drew McIntire

After the fate that had come to pass last week, Sami Zayn had conjured into existence the urgency to settle the disputes against Drew McIntyre inside the wrestling ring. Zayn has yet to defeat McIntyre, and the two stars will square off again on the January 27 show.

The last meeting between Zayn and McIntyre was on the December 16, 2024, episode of Raw. Drew McIntyre had won this match after already defeating Zayn on December 15th during Saturday night’s main event.
