Nuggets vs Magic: Key Player Stats and Box Score – January 19, 2024 NBA Matchup

Nuggest vs Magic: The Denver Nuggets faced off against the Orlando Magic on January 19, 2025. Both teams had opposing goals, as the Magic were positioned in the low-ranking slots of the Eastern Conference while the Nuggets intended to solidify their reign over the Western Conference.

It was a fantastic game as the Nuggets achieved victory, winning by a score of 115 to 105, keeping their remarkable home winning record. Denver has the privilege of sharing the title ‘balanced offense’ given that Nikola Jokić was able to outshine the competition and extend his position as an MVP candidate. Let’s discuss more details about Nuggets vs Magic NBA Matchup!

    Key Player Performances

Nikola Jokić demonstrated his phenomenal skills along the court with a thirteen-point lead over the opposing team with 28 total points, 11 rebounds, and 9 assists. Jokić led the Denver offense, performing as the MVP that he is in every single game, especially against the Orlando Magic. It would not be a wonder if he were given the title of ‘wonderful wizard’ due to his incredible skill of finding open teammates and effortlessly controlling the game. Their success may solely be contributed to him being able to achieve all he wanted.

For the Magic, rookie Paolo Banchero continued to impress. He put up 23 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. His physicality and ability to score in various ways were a focal point for Orlando throughout the game. Fellow standout Franz Wagner added 19 points and 7 rebounds, demonstrating his versatility and strong presence in the matchup.

Orlando’s starting point guard, Markelle Fultz, had a decent game with 14 points, 6 assists, and 3 rebounds; nevertheless, the game magic was not consistent in the second half, and this would allow the Nuggets to maintain control.

Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev has been fined $76,000 (around 20 million Pakistani rupees) for misconduct during a first-round match at the Australian Open.

In his second-round loss to American Learner Tien on Thursday, Medvedev was given a point penalty after throwing his equipment to the side.

He will face a deduction from his prize money for the season’s opening Grand Slam.

‘Apparently, I am’: Kubra Khan responds to question about getting married

Is February the month of Kubra Khan’s big day? Fans are buzzing with excitement as the Alif actress has finally confirmed her wedding plans.

Recently, Kubra Khan attended Hum TV’s grand 20th-anniversary celebration at the Governor House in Karachi. In a short interview with Irfanistan, she talked about her wedding rumours. Kubra Khan said, “Yes, I am apparently getting married in February.”

Apart from her wedding news, the Sinf-e-Aahan actress expressed her love for HUM TV dramas, particularly Sang-e-Mar Mar, saying, “It holds a special place in my heart as my first big project with the channel.”

As February gets closer, fans are excitedly waiting for what could be one of the most talked-about weddings in the entertainment industry this year.

Earlier, Maliha Rehman asked the actor in a video about his dance practice video, inquiring which friend’s wedding it was, to which Gohar responded, “I will reveal very soon which friend’s wedding it is. I promise.”

According to The Current sources, the two stars are set to marry on February 22, with the ceremony taking place in Karachi.

Gohar Rasheed fueled these rumours with an Instagram video. The video shows both actors at a house with friends, tea, samosas, and a cute dog, captioned “2025 Bismillah.”

The buzz intensified when Gohar Rasheed posted another video with the caption, ‘Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai,’ adding to the curiosity.

In a recent appearance on “After Hours with Ushna Shah,” Gohar was asked about his relationship status. He replied, “I am not single; she’s an amazing person, and now I can’t imagine my life without her.” While he didn’t reveal his partner’s name, fans speculated it might be Kubra Khan.

Similarly, in an interview with The Current Life, Kubra Khan was asked about her best friend in the industry. She replied, “My best friend in the industry, yes, it’s Mirza; he’s been my best friend for the past nine years now.”

As rumours swirl, fans have expressed their excitement. One fan posted on Gohar’s Instagram: “So happy for you both.” Another added, “They both are so good, am so happy they found each other!!! Looking forward to their pictures!!!” Yet another fan commented, “The bride’s name is Kubra Khan.”

Despite the growing buzz, neither Gohar nor Kubra has confirmed the rumours. Addressing the speculation, Kubra mentioned in an interview: “I’m used to it now. I’m wondering if it happens; you guys made it happen. I swear, you guys pushed it so much… But no, it doesn’t bother me anymore, to be honest, because it has been happening for eight years, and eventually now I’m like, yeah, whatever.”

Iran sentences pop singer Amir Hossein to death

An Iranian court has sentenced popular singer Amir Hossein Maghsoudloo, known as Tataloo, to death on appeal after he was convicted of blasphemy, local media reported on Sunday.

“The Supreme Court accepted the prosecutor’s objection” to a previous five-year jail term on offences including blasphemy, reformist newspaper Etemad reported online.

The report added that the verdict was not final and can still be appealed. The 37-year-old underground musician had been living in Istanbul since 2018 before Turkish police handed him over to Iran in December 2023. He has been in detention in Iran since then.

Tataloo had also been sentenced to 10 years for promoting “prostitution” and in other cases was charged with disseminating “propaganda” against the Islamic republic and publishing “obscene content”.

The heavily tattooed singer, known for combining rap, pop and R&B, was previously courted by conservative politicians as a way of reaching out to young, liberal-minded Iranians. Tataloo even held an awkward televised meeting in 2017 with ultra-conservative Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi, who later died in a helicopter crash.

In 2015, Tataloo published a song in support of Iran’s nuclear programme that later unravelled in 2018 during the first US presidency of Donald Trump.

West Indies captain accuses Pakistan of making tough pitches after Test loss

West Indies cricket team captain Kraigg Brathwaite has accused Pakistan of preparing a tough pitch to gain a home advantage.

Speaking after the match on Sunday, Kraigg Brathwaite said, “The pitch in Multan was very difficult, with a lot of spin. Pakistan prepared this pitch to take advantage of their home conditions.”

He added, “Pakistan also didn’t bat well in the second innings. I think we could have bowled better in the first innings.”

The West Indies captain, however, appreciated the local fans, saying, “The Pakistani fans supported us too. It felt good to see the support from the crowd.”

Brathwaite also praised his teammate, saying, “Jomel Warrican bowled very well. I hope he performs well again in the second Test match. We will make a comeback in the next game.”

Pakistan defeated West Indies by 127 runs in the first Test match at Multan on Sunday.

Pakistan scored 230 runs in the first innings and were all out for 157 in the second. The visiting team was bowled out for 137 runs in the first innings and 123 in the second.

The Multan Test concluded within three days.

  • Donald Trump to be sworn in as 47th US president today

Donald Trump to be sworn in as 47th US president today

Every four years America’s president is sworn in on Inauguration Day, whether newly elected or returning to office, in a long-established ceremony held amid pageantry shaped by the incoming leader’s personal flourishes.

What does that mean for the inauguration of Donald Trump? Cue the Village People and social media titans — and leave the mittens and scarves behind, following a last-minute decision to move the inauguration indoors.

Here is a preview of the pomp and circumstance that will unfold Monday when Trump is sworn in as the 47th president.

    The oath

The US Constitution mandates that each new president’s term begin at noon on January 20 (or the day after if it falls on a Sunday), and that the president take the oath of office.

In recent years, presidents have been sworn in from an enormous temporary platform on the Capitol’s scenic West Lawn. This year, owing to a frigid forecast, it will take place inside in the Capitol Rotunda.

The oath is most often administered by the Supreme Court chief justice, and Monday would mark John Roberts’s second time officiating for Trump.

The new president also delivers an inaugural address, laying out his plans for the next four years. The Republican rang in his first term in 2017 with a particularly dark speech evoking “American carnage.”

Incoming vice president J.D. Vance will also be sworn in.

    The guests

In a particularly Trumpian twist, the Republican has invited a number of tech titans to attend the inauguration, joining more traditional guests such as his cabinet nominees.

Billionaires Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg will attend as will Shou Chew, the head of Chinese social media giant TikTok, according to US media.

Trump has courted closer ties with the tech moguls, and his campaign benefited from disinformation spread on social media platforms such as TikTok, Musk’s X and Zuckerberg’s Facebook and Instagram.

Outgoing president Joe Biden will attend the ceremony — despite Trump’s refusal to appear at Biden’s swearing-in when he beat Trump in 2020.

All living former presidents — Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama — will attend, as will their wives, except for Michelle Obama.

That means Hillary Clinton, whom Trump beat in the 2016 presidential election, in addition to Vice President Kamala Harris, whom he beat in November, will be there.

Heads of state are not traditionally invited, but Trump has sent invitations to a handful of foreign leaders, including some who share his right-wing politics.

Far-right Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni will attend, her office confirmed Saturday.

Hungary’s Viktor Orban, Argentine President Javier Milei and China’s Xi Jinping have also been invited, but not all will attend.

Xi sent Vice President Han Zheng in his place, who met Sunday with J.D. Vance, the transition office said.

    A move indoors

Crowd size is a preoccupation of Trump’s, but the last-minute switch to an indoor event may dent his bragging rights.

More than 220,000 tickets were being distributed to the public before Trump announced Friday that frigid temperatures meant the inauguration would shift to the Capitol Rotunda, which can accommodate only about 600 people.

Trump said supporters could watch a live feed from Washington’s Capital One sports arena, which holds up to 20,000 — and he promised to drop in later.

    The orders

Trump has said he is preparing to sign around 100 executive orders on his first day in office, many of them aimed at undoing Biden administration policies.

“Within hours of taking office I will sign dozens of executive orders, close to 100 to be exact, many of which I will be describing in my address tomorrow,” Trump told supporters at an inauguration-eve candlelight dinner on Sunday.

Among his many promises, he has pledged to launch a mass deportation program and increase oil drilling. He has also said he might swiftly begin pardoning January 6 rioters — his followers who ransacked the Capitol in 2021.

Immediately after the inauguration, a meeting is planned between US officials and foreign ministers from Japan, India and Australia, the so-called “Quad” seen as a counterweight to China.

    The music

Trump’s first inauguration in 2017 was marked by a lack of celebrity power, with few A-list musicians willing to be associated with him.

Trump inauguration 2.0 is in better shape.

Country star Carrie Underwood will sing “America the Beautiful” during the swearing-in ceremony.

Also performing will be country singer Lee Greenwood, whose patriotic anthem “God Bless the USA” is standard at Trump rallies.

A pre-inauguration rally Sunday included performances by Kid Rock as well as the Village People, with whom Trump danced on stage as they performed their 1970s-era hit “Y.M.C.A.”

    The galas

Country musicians including Jason Aldean, Rascal Flatts and Gavin DeGraw plus the Village People will perform across Trump’s three official inaugural balls Monday night.

Trump is expected to attend all three invite-only affairs. Multiple other unofficial galas are also planned.

  • Govt to refuse PTI’s demand for judicial probe into May 9: report

Govt to refuse PTI’s demand for judicial probe into May 9: report

In a massive blow to the ongoing negotiations, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) led government has refused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) demand for the formation of a judicial commission to probe the May 9 incident, reports said Monday.

Reports quoted sources saying that the government had prepared responses to the PTI’s demands, which were finally handed over to the government in writing ahead of the third round of talks last week.

The government has raised objections to the demands, reports said and added that reason behind its refusal to form a judicial commission on May 9 was the fact that the matter was sub-judice.

A judicial commission can only be formed in cases that are not pending before a court, reports quoted sources as saying. They added that in case of May 9, several cases pertaining to the violence were being heard by different courts, whereas some accused had also been committed by military courts.

In reference to another demand of the PTI, the government will be seeking names and details of the party workers who have been “missing” and are believed to have been arrested in connection with November 26 protests. “How can any step be taken for their release without their names and other relevant information?” reports quoted sources as questioning in response to the demand.

In the government’s response, reports added, the PTI will also be asked to provide details of the alleged deaths that took place during crackdown on Nov 26 protesters in Islamabad.

Response to the PTI’s demands will be handed over to National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq within a few days, upon which he will summon the fourth meeting between the negotiation committees of the government and opposition, reports said.

It merits a mention that the development comes days after the PTI, following party founder Imran Khan’s approval, submitted its demands to the government in writing. Earlier, the negotiations between the two sides had hit a roadblock amid government’s insistence and the PTI’s reluctance in doing so.

PTI’s first demand for headway in talks is the formation of a judicial commission to probe the May 9 and Nov 26 incidents that saw widespread violent protests, resulting in a crackdown on its supporters and leadership across the country.

The former ruling party’s other demands pertain to the release of political prisoners from jail and unearthing of facts surrounding the alleged death of party workers at the hands of law enforcement during protests.

  • Trump’s cryptocurrency surges 164% amid market buzz

Trump’s cryptocurrency surges 164% amid market buzz

Crypto traders and speculators alike were startled as US President-elect Donald Trump’s cryptocurrency, $Trump, took the market by storm. The Alternate Coin (Altcoin), launched on Saturday night, witnessing a 164 percent surge in value mere hours into its launch.

The altcoin’s market capitalization (cap) value surged to several billion dollars. According to data from Binance, a renowned cryptocurrency exchange platform, the market cap sat at a high $14.16 billion.

While this may seem low at first glance, reports are suggesting that the altcoin already ranks among the top 15 in terms of market cap. This places it firmly ahead of Shiba Inu (SHIB) and Hedera (HBAR).

Market analysts are noting how the release of his altcoin comes right before Trump takes office on Monday as the 47th President of the United States. In an interview, a Pakistani investor who preferred to remain anonymous, told TheCurrent that he had bullish sentiments regarding the altcoin.

However, financial experts are suggesting that speculators remain cautious if they do prefer to invest their money into the altcoin. There is some merit to this warning as critics of Trump are claiming that he holds a large volume of the currency.

In a social media post, Nick Tomanio, a crypto venture capitalist highlighted the fact that Trump owned a staggering 80 percent of the altcoin. Based off of this fact, it makes intuitive sense as to how volatile the market is currently.

Since only 20 percent of the altcoin is being traded, there is little liquidity in the market. Low liquidity is often associated with a higher level of volatility as even small trades can cause large swings in prices.

This is precisely what the market has been witnessing with Binance and other platforms even issuing high volatility warnings. However, this has allowed some of the early buyers to make vast profits with their only regret being how they didn’t buy ‘enough’.

The project was organized by CIC Digital LLC which is closely associated with the Trump organization. The company has sold Trump branded fragrances and shoes as per reports.

The coin’s website has revealed that just 200 million digital tokens have been issued with the remaining 800 million to be released within the next three years. Aside from its value skyrocketing, the coin has also boosted the price of Solana’s (SOL) token by 12 percent as it was issued on the Solana blockchain.

While the future of the coin is uncertain, many speculators are pouring their funds into it as they foresee great gains to be made around the time of Trump’s inauguration. However, only time will tell the direction in which the altcoin is headed.

  • 7yo missing Karachi kid found dead after 11 days

7yo missing Karachi kid found dead after 11 days

Seven-year-old Sarim, a child who went missing from North Karachi on January 7, has been found after 11 days.

The SSP Central, in a statement on Saturday, said that the body of the minor boy was found in an underground water tank near his home in Karachi’s North Karachi area.

The child’s body was recovered from a water tank covered with makeshift cardboard, raising questions about the circumstances of his death.

However, the police official stated that it appears the incident occurred accidentally. For further clarification, the body has been sent for a postmortem, and the report is awaited.

A private news channel reported that the child went missing nearly two weeks ago, leading to extensive investigation by the police and family members.

He was a student at Madrasah Al Quran and had gone to his seminary on January 7 but never returned.

The child’s father, Parvez, went to the seminary to ask about his son but was told by the administration that his son had left for home at 3:40 pm.

As the father was returning from the seminary, he spotted Sarim’s gloves lying on the stairs inside the mosque.

Reportedly, Sarim’s parents received a ransom message demanding Rs. 500,000.

The police were unable to determine the child’s whereabouts until last week. Additionally, Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori visited the child’s house to express his support and assured the parents of full cooperation in the recovery of the child.

The police stated that they are investigating possible foul play or assault in the case.

Residents of Sarim’s neighbourhood expressed shock over his recovery, stating that law enforcement had checked the tank twice during the search but failed to find any sign of the child. Some speculated that the child’s body may have remained submerged and surfaced over time.

Sarim’s parents were devastated after seeing his body.
