Jhantu captain, lo*u team, after epic fail, pissed Indian fans teach us cuss words we didn’t know

As England’s captain Jos Buttler and opener Alex Hales both struck scorching fifties, dispatching Indian bowlers to all over the stadium.

  • ‘Pakistan definitely out-bowled, out-batted and out-fielded New Zealand’: Former Indian captain Anil Kumble

‘Pakistan definitely out-bowled, out-batted and out-fielded New Zealand’: Former Indian captain Anil Kumble

Anil Kumble, a former captain of India, said on ESPNcricinfos T20 Time Out show that Pakistan “definitely out-bowled New Zealand, they out-batted New Zealand, but most importantly, they out-fielded New Zealand, which is very, very rare.”

Tom Moody, a former all-rounder for Australia, picked up a specific moment during New Zealand’s powerplay that was a reflection of Pakistan’s level of dedication on Wednesday.

“The tone for me was set with one piece of fielding,” Moody said. “And it’s not the run-out. It’s before the run-out [of Devon Conway]. It was by Shadab [Khan], who was at mid-on, dived and stopped the ball from going for four.

“Kane Williamson played a beautiful on-drive, a straight on-drive, and he [Shadab] saved two runs. And that to me set the tone for the way they were going to operate as a team. You talk about body language but you need moments like that to lift the unit and that’s the standard that he basically said ‘this is the standard we are going to set today.”

New Zealand was limited to 38 for 2 on the powerplay as a result of Pakistan’s outstanding fielding in the circle. Shadab’s straight shot to run out Conway produced the second wicket. Pakistan eventually managed to restrict New Zealand to 152 for 8, winning with seven wickets and five balls remaining.

Kumble applauded Haris’ contribution to the match, which includes his 89 runs with a strike rate of 161.81 since joining the team to fill in for Fakhar Zaman.

“Looking at him [Haris], he looks like a free spirit,” Kumble said. “He’s not bothered about getting his eye in or what if the first ball he gets out. That’s what you want in a T20 game.”

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson said that “We were put under pressure early, they bowled really well and it was thanks to an unbelievable knock from Daryl Mitchell that we got some momentum back.

“At halfway, we thought it was a competitive total because we knew the pitch was a used surface, it was tough.

“But it’s really disappointing to not make Pakistan work harder for those runs, they were absolutely outstanding today and credit has to go to them.”

In the meantime, Shoaib Akhtar, a Pakistani fast bowler, was also overjoyed with Pakistan’s victory.

Former South African allrounder Vernon Philander joined in congratulating Pakistan for making it into the final.

Wasim Akram added his congratulations to those on the side of Pakistani team.

Irfan Pathan, an Indian all-rounder, sent a message as well, praising the Pakistani team for overcoming a near-certain elimination from the competition to reach the final.

  • ‘My eldest son always wanted me out of politics’: Imran Khan

‘My eldest son always wanted me out of politics’: Imran Khan

Imran Khan, the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former Prime Minister has said in an interview that his life was in danger and he received immense death threats when he was campaigning against the incumbent government that was “imposed on the nation”.

Talking to British television presenter Piers Morgan, he said, “I came into politics to fight these two families. When they brought them back through a conspiracy and imposed them on us, I decided that I was not going to sit at home.”

The former premier again named PM Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and an intelligence officer as the conspirators behind the assassination attempt on him in Wazirabad. He urged Chief Justice (CJ) Umar Ata Bandial to look into the matter.

Talking about slain journalist Arshad Sharif, he said, “He was hounded out of Pakistan, and the same intelligence officers were involved”.

Narrating the firing incident, the PTI chief said the firing of shots sounded like firecrackers. “It felt like a burning sensation”, Khan recalled.

He again claimed that there were two shooters at the scene who attacked him.

Khan said that it took him two hours after the attack to reach Shaukat Khanum Hospital, Lahore from Wazirabad.

“I went to the hospital after a two hours drive, and the moment I got there I spoke to my sons and of course to my wife. My wife was remarkable. The fact I was safe, she was relieved but my boys were worried.”

Imran disclosed that his eldest son [Sulaiman] always differed with his decision to join politics. “He was quite worried when I was shot”, he said.

“Sulaiman is very sensitive, he always wanted me to out of politics,” Imran said.

“The moment my legs heal, I am going to be out again,” Khan said, during the interview. He claimed that he could be attacked again.

“People are so worried in my country, I never had this feeling before because they know the guys who missed this time, they would try again,” Khan added.

He also said that his party [PTI] is going to sweep elections this time.

The PTI chief said his remarks about the significance of Pakistan’s ties with the United States (US) had always been clear.

“It’s a superpower,” Imran said in response to a question. He underlined that it was unthinkable that one would not want to have good ties with the US.

“I have only one issue. Pakistan-US relationships have been like a transactional master-slave relationship. We degrade ourselves, I think we allow ourselves to be used like a tissue paper,” he stressed.

He said he wanted a relationship that mirrors the one that the USA has with India.

Commenting on the election of Rishi Sunak as the first-Indian origin British PM, Imran said he was surprised at his election.

“I must confess that I never thought that a day would come that Britain would be ready for an Indian-origin PM,” Imran said.

England has defeated India by ten wickets to get to the T20 World Cup final. While chasing a 169-run mark, England won convincingly in 16 overs without losing a wicket.

As England’s captain Jos Buttler and opener Alex Hales both struck scorching fifties, the Indian bowlers were completely lost.

Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya each scored fifty runs earlier, helping India set England a goal of 169 runs. In the second T20 World Cup semi-final, England had won the toss and elected to bat first.

In their allotted 20 overs, the Men in Blue scored 168-6, with Hardik Pandya being the hero after slamming 63 runs in 33 balls. He knocked out five sixes and four fours in a combative manner.

With the help of four fours and a six, Kohli scored 50 runs in 40 balls. During the match, Chris Jordan recorded 3-43 in four overs for England.

On Sunday, November 13, the victor of this game will play Pakistan, which defeated New Zealand in the first semifinal.

“We have another chance to perform and play in the manner we have been throughout the competition. Important to maintain your composure “Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain, stated during the toss.

Jos Buttler, captain of England, acknowledged that “the dimensions here [Adelaide] are a little different,” making it crucial for his squad to “adjust quickly.”

India advanced to the semifinals by dominating their group and winning four of their five Super 12 games.

The World Cup Super 12 group in which England placed second required a nail-biting victory over Sri Lanka for them to advance to the final four.

200 new employees were hired by the health department in 2022, according to papers, filling all open positions. However, oddly, the DHO appointed 41 men in positions reserved for women.

These male appointees received pay for nine months in accordance with the code for female health employees.

  • ‘We do not comment on rumours,’ Telenor Pakistan responds to reports suggesting that the company is being sold for $1 billion

‘We do not comment on rumours,’ Telenor Pakistan responds to reports suggesting that the company is being sold for $1 billion

Multiple online news outlets reported that Telenor, a telecom operator, intended to sell its business in Pakistan for $1 billion, which ignited a debate on social media.

There is a lot of uncertainty about the authenticity of this news since a few Telenor employees have also denied the reports and asserted that they are fake.

The company has yet to make an official announcement in this regard, with the exception of responding to a Twitter user’s question who asked whether these reports are legit. “We do not comment on speculations and rumours,” Telenor replied.

According to Bloomberg, Telenor is moving forward with plans to sell its business in Pakistan, which might be worth $1 billion, according to people familiar with the situation.

The Norwegian telecommunications operator is working with Citigroup Inc. and will welcome first-round bids for the firm later this month, according to insiders.

Telenor announced in July that it would conduct a strategic assessment of its Pakistan unit after incurring a 2.5 billion-krone ($244 million) loss on operations in the growing market.

The people predict that strategic customers with operations in Pakistan from the Middle East and Asia will express interest. They stated that there is no assurance that the ongoing discussions would result in a transaction. Telenor and Citigroup representatives declined to comment.

Telenor’s stock increased as much as 2.4 per cent on Wednesday. The company’s market worth increased to $13 billion as the stock rose 1.8 per cent in Oslo.

In October, Telenor said that the third quarter’s underlying profitability in Pakistan decreased by 22 per cent, in part as a result of the nation’s growing energy costs. This had a negative effect, but it was partially offset by a gain from Pakistan’s repeal of a SIM tax.

One of Telenor’s four Asian countries, Pakistan, saw a gain of 600 million crowns ($57.79 million), which was related to a court ruling on the applicability of tax on SIM cards for mobile phones from 2014 to 2020.

In recent years, Telenor, which serves 175 million users across eight countries in the Nordic region and Asia, has worked to reduce expenses and increase cash flow in order to fund greater dividends and 5G expenditures. The company’s greatest efforts to date have involved attempts to consolidate markets in South-East Asia, including a $8.6 billion acquisition in Thailand and a $15 billion merger to create a telecoms leader in Malaysia.

Telenor Asia, which also manages the company’s operations in Pakistan and Bangladesh, is in charge of both units.

During the first three quarters of 2022, Telenor Pakistan’s income decreased by about 8 per cent in Norwegian Kroner terms but increased by 4 per cent in Pakistani Rupee terms, staying at NOK 3.390 billion (Rs82.57 billion) as opposed to NOK 4.270 billion (Rs79.36 billion) during the same period of 2021.

In comparison to NKO 1.425 billion (Rs26.68 billion) during the same period last year, or in 2021, Telenor Pakistan reported total revenues of NOK 1.320 billion (Rs29.53 billion) during the third quarter of 2022. This represents a 7.5 per cent decline in NOK terms and a 10 per cent increase in rupee.

Intense floods throughout the quarter had a negative impact on the Group’s business in Pakistan. Consumers’ purchasing power was impacted by the circumstance, which also resulted in network failures and raised prices.

  • Yasir Hussain is looking forward to son Kabir’s friendship with Alia Bhatt’s daughter, netizens react

Yasir Hussain is looking forward to son Kabir’s friendship with Alia Bhatt’s daughter, netizens react

Actor and director Yasir Hussain is known for expressing his controversial takes on social media. Now the Jhooti star has made an unexpected comment while sharing the news of Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s newborn daughter.

The Baandi star wrote, “Tabhi Aaj kabir bohot khush hai. Do mulkon ki dosti k liye mai tayaar hun.” (No wonder why Kabir is happy today. I am ready to help both nations befriend each other.)

The post was an indirect prediction of Kabir Hussain’s bond with the Kapoor baby.

Netizens trolled the Koyal director’s comments for his statement, registering their opinions.

Yasir yet again received flak for his statement as netizens started a troll fest on social media.

Hussain recently grabbed headlines for mocking actors who claimed to skip Hum Awards, in solidarity with the flood victims.

The Lahore Se Aagay hero wrote, “Jo actor(s) baqwas kar rahay hain ke wo khud nahi gaye, unko business class ticket nahi di. Maine chat parhi hai beta. (I have read the chats, the actors who are claiming utter rubbish that they skipped the award show themselves, weren’t provided with business class tickets.)”

Hussain’s statement for actors who skipped the award show came after Azfar Rehman announced on Instagram that he opted out of his participation in the 2022 HUM Awards in Canada to express solidarity with the flood victims in Pakistan.

The Aatish star was praised by his industry colleagues and netizens for his generous act.

He said he has withdrawn “by choice with due respect to the coveted event”.

“Sorry to disappoint my fans in Toronto Canada, I shall not be attending the HUM Awards this year even though I’m nominated in the best actor in a negative role category. I stand in solidarity with my brothers and sisters drowning in the floods. I request the authority at the awards to kindly donate my ticket and stay money to the flood relief,” he wrote, adding the hashtag Pakistan Zindabad.

Celebrities like Ayesha Omar, Mehwish Hayat, Nadia Afgan, Ali Kazmi, Sadaf Kanwal and Shagufta Ejaz praised Rehman for his stance.

The award show organisers and attendees were scrutinised on social media for their timing. Amongst these attendees was Yasir Hussain, who has now made an indirect dig at Azfar.

Although Hussain didn’t tag Rehman in his post but since Azfar is the only mainstream actor who announced this publicly, it is pretty evident that Yasir has slammed him.

Last year on Aagha Ali and Hina Altaf’s The Couple Show, Yasir Hussain said that Azfar thinks that he’s a great actor but he’s absolutely not.

A netizen recently commented a derogatory remark under his post, calling him, “a barking dog and a flop actor”.

Yasir sarcastically replied to the troll by saying, “MashaAllah language.”

Bilawal condemns attack on IK, demands ‘free, fair investigation’

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari while talking to Christiane Amanpour on the sidelines of the COP27 summit, condemned the assassination attempt on former prime minister Imran Khan.

“I would like to reiterate my unequivocal condemnation of this attack. There must be a free, fair and impartial investigation. Whatever one thinks of Mr Khan domestically, but this is an attack on a former Prime Minister, an attack on anyone should be investigated in an impartial manner,” he said while talking to Amanpour.

PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry responded in a tweet, terming Bilawal’s statement as “mature.” He further demanded that the PPP chairperson should authorise release of PTI workers arrested by the Sindh government asking for impartial investigation.

Video: Shoaib Akhtar asks fans to give suggestions to Pakistani team

On Wednesday, Pakistan will face New Zealand in the first T20 World Cup semi-final at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar chatted with fans ahead of the crucial match.

Akhtar posted the footage to social media. Akhtar can be seen in the video sitting inside his car, asking fans about the ongoing T20 World Cup. While a couple of fans gave suggestions to Pakistani team ahead of the semi-final game against New Zealand, one of them turned out to be a huge fan of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

On Akhtar’s request, the fan mouthed one of Shah Rukh’s most famous sentences from the blockbuster film ‘Badshah.’

However, the discourse was too long, and Akhtar had to cut him off with a witty one-liner.

“Beta Shah Rukh Khan hai, itne lambe dialogue nahi bolte (Boy, he is Shah Rukh Khan! Why are you mouthing such a long dialogue?),” Akhtar said.

Since then, the video of the conversation has gone viral, receiving thousands of likes and retweets.

After losing their first two group games, Pakistan was on the verge of exiting the T20 World Cup.

The Babar Azam-led team, on the other hand, won their following two games to stay in the competition.

The Netherlands stunned South Africa while the odds were still stacked against them.

Pakistan needed to beat Bangladesh in their final game to advance, and the 2009 T20 World Cup champions achieved just that.
