KRQ still trending as social media launches meme brigade

Controversial writer Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar is deeply disliked by all progressives for being a misogynist who is waging a war “against feminists” as he says. The aftermath of being kidnapped and held for ransom by a woman keeps unfolding for him, and for the internet. Pakistan’s famous meme brigade has found fodder in the whole fiasco.

Qamar’s explanation of his kidnapping has drawn skepticism online. In a police press conference, Qamar said he went to meet a woman at 4:40 am because his doctor advised him to avoid sunlight for five years. This unusual claim has been widely mocked.

Investigative journalist Umar Cheema reported that Qamar was held between July 15 and 16. According to Qamar, a female fan from London tricked him into meeting her, where a gang then kidnapped, robbed, and assaulted him, even setting fire near his leg to frighten him.

Social media is buzzing with jokes about his sunlight claim, and KRQ is still trending as users share memes.

Crossroads: Asia’s first vertical series breaking boundaries

‘Crossroads’ is making history as Asia’s first vertically shot series. This means it’s filmed in a 9:16 aspect ratio, perfect for mobile viewing. It’s available in over 20 languages, using both human and AI dubbing to reach a global audience. Each episode lasts just 75 seconds, ideal for busy schedules. You can watch it on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.

The story follows Burak, a billionaire seeking revenge, and Haya, a game designer. After a painful breakup in college, they unexpectedly reunite when Haya’s company partners with Burak’s business. This reignites old emotions, leading to a gripping tale of love, revenge, and second chances.

The first five episodes introduce Baby Billionaire Burak, played by Khushhal Khan. Each under 2 minutes, these episodes keep viewers hooked with Burak’s insights on love and success, his painful college breakup, and his colleagues’ crushes. The mystery of Burak’s past heartbreak and his connection to Haya keeps the intrigue alive.

The series brings a Turkish drama feel, appealing to Gen Z and other age groups. The intense, emotional storytelling and visually striking presentation make it a unique experience. Khushhal Khan’s performance stands out, portraying a heartbroken yet strong character.

While the 75-second episodes are convenient, they limit storytelling. We hope the over 60 planned episodes will fully develop the plot. The focus on Burak’s interview and past heartbreak could use more variation and advancement.

Crossroads is directed by Fahad Noor, written by Eric Berg, and features a stellar cast including Khushhal Khan, Mamya Shajaffar, and Simi Raheel.

The first episode of ‘Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum’ impresses with its quick story, strong performances, and high-quality production. Fahad Mustafa’s return to acting after ten years is a highlight, and the show has a fresh, modern look.

The story is fast-paced, keeping viewers hooked while introducing the characters and their relationships. Family dynamics, especially the tension between Mustafa and his brother Adeel, are well-depicted. Though the plot isn’t entirely new, its execution feels refreshing and enjoyable.

Mustafa: A tech expert and hacker, Mustafa is a carefree, happy-go-lucky guy. Fahad plays the role perfectly, reminding viewers why he is so loved by his fans.

Will Khalil ur Rehman Qamar ever learn to respect women?

Controversial screenwriter Khalil ul Rehman Qamar is once again in the spotlight for his misogynist behavior towards women. At a recent panel discussion, the ‘Teri Meri Khanaiyan’ co-writer joined Sahil Adeem.

During the show, they had a heated exchange with a female audience member who questioned their regressive views on women’s rights. At one point, Sahil Adeem claimed that 95 percent of women in Pakistan are uneducated, causing an uproar among the audience. The incident has sparked renewed controversy over their views on women’s rights in Pakistan.

Samaa TV’s show ‘Mukalma,’ hosted by Ayesha Jahanzeb, turned into a battle ground. During the discussion, a female audience member confronted Sahil Adeem for his rude remarks about women.

“If you have called girls ‘Jahil,’ you should apologize or show me where the Quran says to use this word for those who don’t know certain things,” she said angrily. In response, Sahil shared Arabic verses, which angered the girl. Her reaction to the use of Arabic upset Khalil ul Rehman Qamar, leading to a heated argument between him and the girl. The host eventually calmed them all down and moved on to another guest.
