‘She’s an international star, I’m local’: Faysal Quraishi on Hania Aamir ‘seeking Rs2m’ for podcast appearance

Veteran actor Faysal Quraishi has said that actress Hania Aamir has now become a bigger star than him while speaking to podcast host Adnan Faisal.

The discussion on the podcast focused on Hania Aamir reportedly asking for Rs2 million to appear on Faisal’s podcast.

During a recent Ramzan transmission, Faysal asked Faisal, “Did you have any issue regarding payment with Hania Aamir?”

Adnan Faisal replied, “It was Hania Aamir’s choice. Even if she asked for two million, we have never paid that amount to anyone. I have done around 700 podcasts so far.”

Faysal then suggested that he should have paid Hania. “Think about it—she would come to your podcast. How many views would it get?” Quraishi asked.

Adnan responded, “Look, you came to my podcast, right? How many views did it get for me? How viral did it become? So tell me, is Hania a bigger star than you?”

Faysal acknowledged, “Yes, today, she is a star, brother. She is an international star now. I am a local star.”

It is worth noting that last year, Adnan Faisal revealed that Hania Aamir reportedly demanded Rs2 million to appear on his podcast.

Faisal has hosted around 700 episodes featuring political, social, and entertainment figures and emphasized that he has never paid any guest for participation.

‘Atif ki price mein aik aur Pakistan Idol ho sakta tha’: Tanveer Afridi on why some songs were skipped from the show

Pakistani singer Tanveer Afridi has explained why songs by some major artists rarely appear on the reality show Pakistan Idol.

Speaking in a recent discussion, Afridi said that copyright restrictions prevent the show from featuring certain songs.

“Pakistan Idol definitely has restrictions on some songs because we do not have their copyrights,” he said.

Afridi pointed out that the cost of licensing some songs remains too high for the production. He specifically mentioned the fee required to cover Atif Aslam’s songs.

“The price for Atif Aslam’s songs was so high that we could have made another Pakistan Idol with that money,” he said.

Afridi stressed that artists have every right to decide the value of their work. “He is a big artist. It is his right to ask for whatever fee he wants,” Afridi said.

Pakistan Idol returned to television in 2025 after more than a decade. The show airs on Geo TV and brings back the global Idol franchise format for Pakistani audiences.

The judging panel for the latest season includes Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Fawad Khan, Zeb Bangash, and Bilal Maqsood. The show features contestants from across the country competing for the title of Pakistan’s next singing star.

  • Rajab Butt breaks silence on sending divorce notice to Emaan

Rajab Butt breaks silence on sending divorce notice to Emaan

YouTuber Rajab Butt has spoken publicly about divorcing his wife Emaan Fatima, saying that he now wants the matter to move forward through legal channels.

In a recent YouTube video, Rajab Butt addressed statements shared by his wife on Instagram and said that he will no longer discuss his personal life on social media.

“As you saw, Emaan posted a story on Instagram. Let me say one thing: by posting that story, neither you won nor did I. The only thing that won was ego and stubbornness. The real loss is for our child,” he said.

He also questioned the decision to share the divorce notice publicly rather than addressing the matter privately with him or his family.

“You felt it was necessary to post a story instead of sending a message to me or to any member of my family. You thought that even if the marriage goes to hell, even if divorce happens, at least people should get the perspective that we are right and the other side is wrong,” he said.

Rajab Butt said he and his family have faced online criticism since the start of their marriage, but he believed sharing their child’s image in the post was unnecessary.

“But showing Kiwan’s hand in the story along with the divorce paper was not necessary. Even without showing Kiwan’s hand, people would still abuse us, so you do not need to worry about that,” he added.

He also said that if a relationship fails, religion allows couples to end it respectfully.

The YouTuber stated that he will not provide further updates about the issue online and that the matter will now proceed according to legal and religious procedures.

“According to Shariah law, I have sent the first notice. The second notice will be sent at its time. Everything will be handled legally. I am ending this matter gracefully,” he said.

Rajab Butt rose to fame through family vlogs on YouTube. He married Emaan Fatima in 2024, and their wedding gained widespread attention online as videos and pictures from the ceremonies circulated across social media platforms.

Public statements from both sides later indicated that the relationship faced problems soon after the marriage.

Rajab Butt has also been facing multiple legal cases. According to claims circulating online, the couple did not spend much time living together after their marriage.

In recent weeks, the dispute drew further attention when Emaan Fatima’s brother began sharing her side of the matter on social media.

Several allegations and claims also circulated online during the controversy, including accusations that Rajab Butt cheated on his wife while she was pregnant.

  • Saheefa Jabbar in tears after ‘fake’ negative reviews against new cafe

Saheefa Jabbar in tears after ‘fake’ negative reviews against new cafe

Model Saheefa Jabbar Khattak became emotional on social media after claiming that her newly launched cafe received a sudden wave of suspicious negative reviews online.

In a video shared on her social media accounts, the actress appeared in tears as she spoke about the situation. She said dozens of one-star ratings appeared on Google in the middle of the night, raising questions about how so many reviews could appear within such a short period.

According to Saheefa, the reviews started appearing at around 3am and quickly increased in number.

“I woke up and saw that there were so many one-star reviews on Google. Almost 50 reviews came in within a very short time,” she said.

The actress explained that she had personally been present at the cafe earlier, serving pizzas and interacting with customers.

“I was standing there myself, serving pizzas and meeting customers. People were happy and giving positive feedback, so I don’t understand how all these negative reviews suddenly appeared,” she said.

Saheefa also questioned how so many ratings could be posted overnight when most of her customers do not usually leave online reviews.

“Most of my customers are families and older people. They usually don’t go online to leave reviews, so seeing dozens of reviews suddenly appear like this is very strange,” she said.

During the video, the actress also spoke about the difficulties she believes women face while running businesses. She said women entrepreneurs often encounter harassment, pressure and organized attempts to damage their reputation.

Saheefa claimed that women who start businesses sometimes deal with blackmail attempts, bribery demands and smear campaigns aimed at discouraging them.

It is worth noting that earlier, she faced criticism over remarks about hiring staff for the cafe. Saheefa had said she preferred hiring Pathan workers because she believed they were trustworthy.

“I want Pathan boys as workers because I believe they are true to their word. I do not trust Punjabi and Urdu-speaking people anymore,” she said.

Her comments sparked backlash on social media, with many users criticizing the statement.

Saheefa Jabbar Khattak first gained recognition as a fashion model before moving into television acting.

She later appeared in several Pakistani dramas, including Beti, Bhool, Log Kya Kahengay, Rafta Rafta and Bhool Ja Ay Dil.

‘Arijit Singh was trying to sound like Atif’: Palash Sen says Atif Aslam’s influence shaped Indian singers

Indian singer Palash Sen has praised the lasting influence of Pakistani star Atif Aslam on the Indian music industry, saying that the singer’s unique voice and style inspired a generation of male vocalists, including Arijit Singh during the early phase of his career.

Speaking during a recent interview with an Indian television channel, Sen said that many singers who came after Atif tried to follow his style of singing.

“If you look closely, almost every singer who came after Atif tried to sing like him. Even the biggest singer in our country today, Arijit Singh—if you listen to his earlier songs, he was also trying to sound like Atif. Later, he developed a style of his own,” Sen said.

Sen explained that this type of influence often appears in the music industry whenever a powerful voice changes the direction of popular singing.

“In the same way, there was a time when singers like Kumar Sanu and Abhijeet were influenced by legends like Mohammed Rafi and Kishore Kumar. Influential singers always have a strong impact, and many people try to become like them. Their influence is very powerful,” he added.

Atif Aslam remains one of the most successful singers to emerge from Pakistan and gain massive popularity in India and across South Asia.

He first rose to fame in the early 2000s with the song “Aadat”, composed with the band Jal, which quickly became a mega hit among young listeners.

His career in Bollywood grew rapidly after he lent his voice to several popular songs. Some of his most well known tracks include “Tera Hone Laga Hoon” from Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, “Pehli Nazar Mein” from Race, “Tu Jaane Na” from Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, “Jeene Laga Hoon” from Ramaiya Vastavaiya, and “Dil Diyan Gallan” from Tiger Zinda Hai.

Saba Hameed opens up about ‘hard slap’ to Hiba Bukhari for Fitoor

Veteran actor Saba Hameed has opened up about slapping co-star Hiba Bukhari during the filming of the drama Fitoor.

Speaking as a guest on a Ramzan show, Hameed clarified that she did not actually slap co-actors in dramas. “I do not hit anyone for real in dramas because I am an expert at cheating shots.”

However, she explained that in some cases, directors insist on realism.

“But if the director repeatedly insists that a real slap is necessary, what can I do? It was their wish, so I had to slap her. I did slap her and later apologised because it was quite a hard slap. When asked to hit for real, I cannot cheat,” she added.

Hameed emphasised that such situations are not ideal. “It is never good for any actor because, in the end, it is all just for a character.”

Saba Hameed is a veteran of Pakistan’s television and film industry, with a career spanning nearly 40 years.  Some of her notable dramas include Family Front, Mere Hamsafar, Thakan, Lashkara, Pyaare Afzal, Ghisi Piti Mohabbat, the Baraat series, Sun Mere Dil, Dil Lagi, Noor Jehan and Laal Ishq.

  • Bonanza Satrangi denies link with Maryam Hanif Balwani after she criticises Ali Khamenei

Bonanza Satrangi denies link with Maryam Hanif Balwani after she criticises Ali Khamenei

Clothing brand Bonanza Satrangi has issued a statement addressing screenshots circulating on social media showing Maryam Hanif Balwani’s controversial remarks about Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

In a statement released on March 3, the brand said a woman had been falsely presenting herself as the CEO. “We are writing to address several screenshots which are currently circulating on social media. It has come to our attention that a female has been falsely claiming and impersonating to be the CEO of Bonanza Satrangi,” the company said.

The brand stated that the individual had no link with the organisation. “This imposter is not our CEO, a member of our Board of Directors, or part of the company. They have no legal, professional, or contractual association with our organization in any capacity,” the statement said.

The company also said it had distanced itself from remarks attributed to the account and that the matter had been reported to authorities.

The clarification came after comments attributed online to a woman identified as Maryam Hanif Balwani circulated widely and drew criticism. In one of the posts being shared online, the statement read: “What do we mean by the Prime Minister of Iran? By the way, he/Shia was an enemy of Islam.”

The remarks prompted responses from social media users, some of whom criticised the comments and linked them to the brand.

One user wrote, “As CEO of Bonanza Satrangi, Maryam Hanif Balwani’s public remarks labeling Ali Khamenei an ‘enemy of Islam’ were irresponsible and divisive. Business leaders should promote unity, not sectarian tension.” Another post said, “This is being cited as an example of how some brands allegedly promote an international Yahoodi agenda.”

Other reactions also called for a boycott of the brand. One post read, “How could you say word enemy for the most respectable person in the world millions of people love Ayatullah Khamenei who are you to judge anyone ?? Boycott her brand.”

Following the backlash, Balwani posted a message saying her comments were being misinterpreted. “Some people are trying to harm my business by misinterpreting my words. I never called Khamenei a Jew. His statements have been against Sunnis, that is why we said that,” she wrote.

She added, “Our family has made a lot of sacrifices to build this business. Please do not name our business. We apologize to every citizen of Pakistan. We sincerely apologize”

The apology also drew criticism online, with several users saying it did not address the concerns raised by her earlier remarks. One user wrote, “This is not the way to apologise. You cannot hurt the sentiments of people and simply say sorry.” Another added, “We will still boycott your brand.”

The brand’s statement also prompted reactions online. One user wrote, “Maryam Hanif Balwani is the daughter of Bonanza’s ex CEO why is this brand lying.”

Another said, “Another shameful act is that they are lying and disowning her.” A third post read, “For first time in history a company disowned its own owner.”
